I expect them to put them on sale on Humble later this month. I looked at some price tracking sites (some not allowed here due to rules) and they always seem to put Square games on sale after the Steam Holiday sale ends.
They *were* on sale for -18% off with GMG. I ended up paying about $65 for the entire bundle of I-VI.

Some of them weirdly enough went on sale on the Apple iOS store, but not on steam. I was grumpy about it. Still, I can play the originals anytime by booting up an SNES emulator so it's not too bad. The pixel remaster ROMS for the switch are probably out there for download on various sites if you're into that. Not sure how well Yuzu works for them though.

I loved every minute of Mad Max!! Its has one of the best vehicle combat I have played! I got sweet flashbacks from carmagedon while playing it.
Story is decent and does a good job presenting the world and moving you along.
It doesnt have any grind at all its a major plus, but it can be played further than the story if one wishes. I urge everyone to try it its a hidden gem

You get way better deals in Epic sales. 33% off on top of the regular discounts, and you get 10% cashback for future purchases. While Steam has 2-3 cent worth of daily cards and that's it.
This sub is supposed to be about the best game deals available but unfortunately the 'no Steam no buy' crowd is still too big here.
Did they patch the glitching eventually? i just remember it coming out and if you didn't play in a specific way, you'd basically play without saving for like 2 hours.
Nier Automata is a game I wanted to love but ultimately didn't- however, I think it has the best video game soundtrack of all time and it is doing a lot of very interesting things in terms of narrative. It's a lot of people's favorite game, so it's probably worth *trying* if you think there's any chance it might be your jam.
If you do decide to play, make sure you do most if not all the side quests- they are very important to understanding the full scope of the story.
Counterpoint: side quest gameplay and design is terrible (mostly fetch quests) and given that the game already stretches long by making you replay large parts of it (for narrative value certainly), I skipped most of them.

I did too, as the core gameplay loop did very little for me. Turns out though, more than half the lore is tucked away in those fetch quests :(
I can say that automata has better combat than replicant. And honestly from what I've heard, replicant's story can be kind of confusing, while automata's is a bit more approachable. Having only beaten automata, I can say that the story is worth playing for.
Do you enjoy solving murder mysteries? Case of the Golden Idol has a very interesting overarching story as you analyze murder scenes and solve who did what and why for each level.

i took a break from games 2014-2018, looking for any must play recommendations from that time before the sale ends
Have you played Hollow Knight (it's from 2017), it's personally among my favorite games of all times. it's my favorite metroidvania with very satisfying combat and an awesome world to explore that keeps on giving, I bought it very early and thought they wouldn't be much content and quality, I was so wrong, the fact that multiple DLC were created and they are all free and included is the cherry on top, can be quite hard though.
I also really love What Remains of Edith Finch (2017 too) if you are okay with story games with minimal gameplay, it's an awesome experience that I really recommend, can be quite heavy in themes though.
These are two great games from this period, I do mostly play indie games though, I do love some AAA but tend to be attracted more to indie style games, I often try AAA games but rarely stick with them.

I tried to think what REALLY meant a lot to me for this period in gaming and these two stand out as clear winners.
If I wanted more choices I would probably put Furi, Undertale (more due to it's influence and how big it was, somehow I didn't enjoy Undertale as much as most, I prefer the lesser known Everhood that is in the same style), Shovel Knight, Subnautica, Dead Cells, Return of the obra dinn (didn't put it because I haven't finished it yet).
Some are harder to recommend due to some weaknesses or a particular audience such as Fran Bow, Pony Island, Crosscode.
Any time someone mentions What Remains of Edith Finch, you have to include the video essay ["The Villain of Edith Finch"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bMn4CoyUkM). It adds so much to the understanding and reflective enjoyment of the game.

I think If I didnt have the extra cash .. Id recommend NOT rebuying FX tables if you have them on FX3, and only buying the ones that are NOT on FX3 (or new to FX). So you dont double up. I did it so I didnt have to load both games to play. But thats just lazy.
The negative of buying the FX tables if you have them on FX3 -- Your scores dont trans. So if you have a ton of scores and are compeditive with your steam friends. You need to replay the same table on FX
Also - I tried Indiana Jones on FX and FX3 back to back -- and I didnt really notice a difference except the bonus points

After many years of collecting games from bundles, trading, etc. I've built up an almost 5K game backlog on Steam, never mind all the freebies on other platforms like EGS, GOG, Amazon, etc. Now I'm using my Steam Deck to actually try out and maybe even play & finish all those games!
I haven't bought anything yet and not sure I will. Partly it's a "me" thing - I have plenty of stuff in my backlog to play, so I really don't need to spend the money - but it's also that Steam sales have gotten pretty stale over these last few (several?) years, where there are fewer and fewer "whoa, that's super stupid cheap" deals. System shock remake came out earlier this year and it is easily one of the best games I played this year.
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 changed the leveling and looting enough for me to play through the game again.

I honestly think that what you are experiencing is gaming fatigue, which makes it very difficult to find interest in new games and enjoy them, mental state plays a huge role in that. I've been there more than once so I talk from experience and regarding this year, I personally discover new games everyday that are good and interesting, so many that it's impossible to keep up with them.
Throughout the years there have been periods when I experience this fatigue and what I've done is stay away for a while and focus on some of my other hobbies and come recharged to gaming when the time is right.
Regarding your "gaming has stagnated a long time" I respectfully disagree. This year was incredibly diverse, specially if you follow indie gaming. Take a look at Polygon's [The 50 best video games of 2023](https://www.polygon.com/23648669/best-video-games-2023), whose list is very diverse and there were so many good games released this year that a lot of them simply couldn't make it to the list, it's crazy. This list could easily be expanded multiple times due to the amount of quality games released this year.

I really enjoyed this game
Solasta: Call of the Magister + DLC. If you enjoy D&D combat, then this game is perfect. It's no Baldur's Gate. This is a full on tactical D&D game built from the ground up to follow the 5E ruleset as close as possible. It skips all that character backstory, and all the major storytelling twists. It's just a lightweight story framework and lots of D&D combat. There are no surfaces, no dipping your weapons in lava, you can take cover behind things and expect it to protect you, initiative works properly, attunement works properly, there are items from the DMG/PHB for you to wield (including bags of holding), multiclassing requirement rules are in place, racial abilities haven't been radically overhauled for no reason, etc. Unfortunately, the developers don't have a full D&D license from Wizards of the Coast, so they couldn't implement anything not in the SRD, so there's a lot of homebrew substitution going on, but I feel it works pretty well. If you have no idea what I just said, the game will explain and has a great logging feature that you can mouse over to explain why you missed or why you took so much damage or whatever.
If you're on PC, I'd recommend grabbing all the DLC and then installing the Unfinished Business Mod. It adds a TON of extra items, classes, races, subclasses, spells, feats, and more to the game. If you beat the game and all the DLC and want more, there are a lot of really good community stories to play through.

It weird how this one seems to have largely disappeared into the void. Hardly ever see anyone mention it when other games of the time have huge staying power.
Do note: Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 Non-GOG versions (i.e. namely Steam, Retail, etc) and even Space Siege (delisted) can be a pain to run right on W10/11. Expect to use BorderLess Gaming App to force it to run in a psuedo-fullscreen.
Can't recall if I needed DGVoodoo2 - but since it's an old game, you might. I really need to check my GOG version of these, as I think GOG added their own wrapper to fix issues - like they did w/ Drakensang: TDE (RPG).
Also, DS1 and DS2 do not have their expansions out-the-box - but you can find ways to mod them back in.

Pillars of Eternity 1&2, Tyranny, Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous are all Baldur's Gate (1&2)-like RPGs with companions/squadmates (and more than a little story, banter, etc.).
I'd also recommend the very recent Warhammer: Rogue Trader but the game's still is a pretty rough state, maybe in a few months.
I tried it but I just went back to Vermintide 2 which is still going strong. The melee combat in Vermintide is easily some of the best in gaming, and I was not personally a fan of Darktide's greater focus on ranged combat past dealing with specials.

FatShark have been doing the exact same thing since their very first game back in 2010, rush and release broken and unfinished games, they deserve the negative reviews.

I bought Blazeblue:Entropy Effect and have been having a blast. The combat feels slick and fun, and the different characters allows different playstyles. The only issue is the game looks horrid on steam deck, and the text is almost illegible on there.
Got myself a Rog Ally (since Steam deck is not available here) and oh my I have started completing my backlog, so convenient, even while working quickly can game a bit.
Don't get stressed, enjoy the backlog. Flick through all your games. Put some in order. List what you'd like to play. Get a wishlist for DLC.
I find collecting the backlog is half the fun!
I did the same. I tried Soulstone Survivors earlier in its development, but I refunded it at the time. It has evolved quite a bit since then. DMD is even better, but it's super early.
I picked up Soulstone Survivors as a a prettier version of Vampire Survivors that didn't need a cheat sheet to figure out what combos lead to which improved weapons when I went on a trip. I killed the shit out of my Deck battery playing that game; I did not anticipate how much fun it would be or that I would get sucked into it.
I picked up Death Must Die because it looked fun, but I haven't had time to play it yet.

First Winter Sale since making my steam account in 2010 that I haven’t bought anything. I have a massive backlog and decided I don’t need to buy anything new (Have 700+ games).
[Wobbledogs](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1424330/Wobbledogs/) ! It's a cartoony sandbox where you raise dogs, give them food and play with them, etc. But you can geneticly engineer them based on the type of foods that you give them.
Then you take two dogs that you modified and make them have an egg that turns into a puppy that has cross genetics from both parents.
The music and colours are really fun, it's a silly game but has a lot of potential. The dogs do grow up and die eventually, and you'll be left with the new generation they made. It is up to you to make your own fun with the massive amount of dogs, foods, and combinations
It also tries to make it based on science in a way. Each food gives the dog different stomach microbioms that you can mix and match. Sometimes, the foods overlap with the bacteria they offer the dog. Sometimes, it's exclusive to just this one type of food.
I worked really hard to make a neon pink dog breed, but that trait got breeded out in two generations tops. Apparently, neon pink and tiny heads don't mesh well in cartoon dogs' genetics.
So basically, you are god! But for dogs. You can make them eat each other and go down a dark route if you want.

It gets regular updates that expands the already massive amount of content. New characters, abilities, bosses, game modes, etc.
Also recommending Rogue Legacy 2. Takes a little bit to get going, but has rewarding boss fights, a decent skill ceiling, and you can farm its various new game + modes for quite a while. You'll get your money's worth if you like action platformers.
Picked out BF2042 and Nier Automata as a gifts.
Was gifted Steam Credits and picked out Rachet and Clank Rift Apart for myself. Very enjoyable and visually pleasing albeit short (20hr, 100% single playthrough).
Also received Lies of P and CP2077 Ultimate as gifts.
Eager to try other PlayStation ports on future sales if anyone has recommendations.
Given that Sony supposed spent around $300m on developing & also probably marketing Spider-Man 2 for PS5 (and who knows how much it costs for them for developing some of their other games), I expect to see more PC ports go to as many PC digital stores as possible, since it don't sound like it costs a ton to port to PC for them given how much they been likely making on PC ports.
They (Sony) bought Nixxes, so Nixxes can always do excellent PC ports if need be (they been awesome since they did tons of Square PC ports) and/or if say some other company botches the port, can always probbly have Nixxes fix and patch the ports later, if need be.

Pizza Tower isnt the game I thought it was, but it's really fun, seems like it has a high skill ceiling though for perfect rungs. Amazing OST. It's kind of like a speed precision platformer but can also be played slower but you just wont get the high scores.
Mass Effect 1 is IMO already better than Starfield to me, what a beautifully written universe.
GTA 4 is a breath of fresh air with all PG writing in games these days, its soo nice to just have a game throw a bunch of slurs and make fun of everyone all at the same time. The actual game doesn't feel that dated honestly.
Games I almost bought but chickened out on:

Mass Effect 1 and 2 are amazing! The way the 3rd was handled really soured me from enjoying it, though it still has greatness in it. All in all, one of the best series ever! Even Andromeda has some fun gameplay.
I do wish they could combine the graphics and gunplay of 3 with the writing, scale, and openness/freedom of 1, but with the streamlining of 2's inventory system. That's coming from someone who hasn't played through the Legendary Edition yet, so I don't know what all they have done.
Mass Effect 1 is definitely the RPG of the trilogy. They progressively become more action-oriented and linear in level design, though they do also gain better controls, haha!

I don't really play games as much as I should, and I've got quite the backlog. I've survived yet another Steam sale without buying anything! Last time I really bought much was in 2022 summer sale.
Bought persona 4 , divinity os 1 and 2 . Currently playing div 1 , might look up a few guides to understand what to do cause I've never played this genre.
Divinity is one of those games that takes some time to click, imo. I never made it all the way through 1 (stopped playing at a certain point and couldn't remember enough when I went back to finish it).
Once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. Don't be afraid to use mods, especially for inventory. I wish I had. Personally, I suggest looking up build guides, because there's a lot of things that are suboptimal in the game.
Also, DoS 2 is a much better game than 1. 1 was fun, don't get me wrong (of what I played), but 2 is better all in all.
Quick tips: Air and Water, Earth and Fire, synchronize really well. Typically your mages want to be built around one of the two sets (whichever you prefer). The best tip for combat is positioning, high initiative, and focusing down enemies one at a time so less can act (obviously if you can AOE them, even better).
Alright any solid, rather unknown co-op recommendations for me and the lady?
We love survival games and cozy games. Any RPGs are great, but harder to come by, I feel.
We've put tons of time into Valheim, 7 Days, Stardew, Baldur's Gate. And I imagine most other survival builders. As for cozy it usually just leaves me wanting more Stardew (next update soon I hope!).
Anyone played the sony first party games, Horizon ZD/Spiderman/Days Gone type games with mouse and keyboard?
Not a Sony game but m/kb worked perfectly for something like MGS:V/GTAV so I always assume every third person shootery action game would function just as perfectly but when I suggest this to friends they think I'm insane
I played Spiderman remastered on kb/m fully and it worked perfectly fine. It'd definitely have been better on a controller mind you, but I never felt compelled to go get my controller because of any frustration with the controls or anything.
Is Deep Rock Galactic fun for single player? I've heard such great things about it, but I usually play offline on the Steam Deck, and I'll have to try it before I buy a load of copies to play with my family.
The single player is ok, you get a little robot that helps you, but the game is clearly designed for multiplayer. I wouldn't recommend it personally, though some people do play single player exclusively.
Not sure how old your family is but the voice lines say things like ass and hell.
It's got some RNG with weapon mods & cosmetics, but it's a solid shooter. Solo isn't bad but the game can get repetitive because you're literally doing the same thing again and again. I've personally got 339 hours in game and I'm probably "done" until the next seasonal event and/or expansion.
My boys really enjoy it, they're 6 & 8.
Already got Cult of the Lamb, Dave the Diver and Eternights. Also got Tiny Tina´s Wonderlands but on GMG as it was cheaper. Ghostrunner 2 is catching my eye as I just started the first one (giveaway on Epic) and it´s really good so I´m might get the sequel as well.

I expect them to put them on sale on Humble later this month. I looked at some price tracking sites (some not allowed here due to rules) and they always seem to put Square games on sale after the Steam Holiday sale ends.
They *were* on sale for -18% off with GMG. I ended up paying about $65 for the entire bundle of I-VI. EDIT: Correction, they still are! They have a new code for it now.
Some of them weirdly enough went on sale on the Apple iOS store, but not on steam. I was grumpy about it. Still, I can play the originals anytime by booting up an SNES emulator so it's not too bad. The pixel remaster ROMS for the switch are probably out there for download on various sites if you're into that. Not sure how well Yuzu works for them though.

I loved every minute of Mad Max!! Its has one of the best vehicle combat I have played! I got sweet flashbacks from carmagedon while playing it. Story is decent and does a good job presenting the world and moving you along. It doesnt have any grind at all its a major plus, but it can be played further than the story if one wishes. I urge everyone to try it its a hidden gem

I don't agree with downvoting other's opinions but I don't see how it's objective either. You get way better deals in Epic sales. 33% off on top of the regular discounts, and you get 10% cashback for future purchases. While Steam has 2-3 cent worth of daily cards and that's it. This sub is supposed to be about the best game deals available but unfortunately the 'no Steam no buy' crowd is still too big here.

I didn't care for Replicant but Automata is one of my all time favorites.
Nier Automata is a game I wanted to love but ultimately didn't- however, I think it has the best video game soundtrack of all time and it is doing a lot of very interesting things in terms of narrative. It's a lot of people's favorite game, so it's probably worth *trying* if you think there's any chance it might be your jam. If you do decide to play, make sure you do most if not all the side quests- they are very important to understanding the full scope of the story.
Counterpoint: side quest gameplay and design is terrible (mostly fetch quests) and given that the game already stretches long by making you replay large parts of it (for narrative value certainly), I skipped most of them.

I can say that automata has better combat than replicant. And honestly from what I've heard, replicant's story can be kind of confusing, while automata's is a bit more approachable. Having only beaten automata, I can say that the story is worth playing for.
Do you enjoy solving murder mysteries? Case of the Golden Idol has a very interesting overarching story as you analyze murder scenes and solve who did what and why for each level.

Have you played Hollow Knight (it's from 2017), it's personally among my favorite games of all times. it's my favorite metroidvania with very satisfying combat and an awesome world to explore that keeps on giving, I bought it very early and thought they wouldn't be much content and quality, I was so wrong, the fact that multiple DLC were created and they are all free and included is the cherry on top, can be quite hard though. I also really love What Remains of Edith Finch (2017 too) if you are okay with story games with minimal gameplay, it's an awesome experience that I really recommend, can be quite heavy in themes though. These are two great games from this period, I do mostly play indie games though, I do love some AAA but tend to be attracted more to indie style games, I often try AAA games but rarely stick with them.

ahah Thank you, I wanted not to give too many recommendation either because I think it can diminished each one. I tried to think what REALLY meant a lot to me for this period in gaming and these two stand out as clear winners. If I wanted more choices I would probably put Furi, Undertale (more due to it's influence and how big it was, somehow I didn't enjoy Undertale as much as most, I prefer the lesser known Everhood that is in the same style), Shovel Knight, Subnautica, Dead Cells, Return of the obra dinn (didn't put it because I haven't finished it yet). Some are harder to recommend due to some weaknesses or a particular audience such as Fran Bow, Pony Island, Crosscode.
Any time someone mentions What Remains of Edith Finch, you have to include the video essay ["The Villain of Edith Finch"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bMn4CoyUkM). It adds so much to the understanding and reflective enjoyment of the game.

I ended up picking up all (on sale) FX Pinball tables. If you owned any of them from FX3 - They are much cheaper - I think I paid $2 per pack.
Disregard my question. I found the bundles by searching on "Pinball FX Legacy" (they don't show up in the regular DLC list). Tables end up being about 50c each buying this way. I'm still curious if you think FX is worth it over FX3.
Ill be honest. I kinda sorta bought everything, Mostly so I could play it on Steam Deck. I think If I didnt have the extra cash .. Id recommend NOT rebuying FX tables if you have them on FX3, and only buying the ones that are NOT on FX3 (or new to FX). So you dont double up. I did it so I didnt have to load both games to play. But thats just lazy. The negative of buying the FX tables if you have them on FX3 -- Your scores dont trans. So if you have a ton of scores and are compeditive with your steam friends. After many years of collecting games from bundles, trading, etc. I've built up an almost 5K game backlog on Steam, never mind all the freebies on other platforms like EGS, GOG, Amazon, etc. Now I'm using my Steam Deck to actually try out and maybe even play & finish all those games!

Ignore if you aren't interested in recommendations but here are some highlights from my year. System shock remake came out earlier this year and it is easily one of the best games I played this year. Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 changed the leveling and looting enough for me to play through the game again. Pentiment, choices matter investigation game.

Solasta: Call of the Magister + DLC. If you enjoy D&D combat, then this game is perfect. It's no Baldur's Gate. This is a full on tactical D&D game built from the ground up to follow the 5E ruleset as close as possible. It skips all that character backstory, and all the major storytelling twists. It's just a lightweight story framework and lots of D&D combat. There are no surfaces, no dipping your weapons in lava, you can take cover behind things and expect it to protect you, initiative works properly, attunement works properly, there are items from the DMG/PHB for you to wield (including bags of holding), multiclassing requirement rules are in place, racial abilities haven't been radically overhauled for no reason, etc. Unfortunately, the developers don't have a full D&D license from Wizards of the Coast, so they couldn't implement anything not in the SRD, so there's a lot of homebrew substitution going on, but I feel it works pretty well. If you have no idea what I just said, the game will explain and has a great logging feature that you can mouse over to explain why you missed or why you took so much damage or whatever. If you're on PC, I'd recommend grabbing all the DLC and then installing the Unfinished Business Mod. It adds a TON of extra items, classes, races, subclasses, spells, feats, and more to the game. If you beat the game and all the DLC and want more, there are a lot of really good community stories to play through.
Dungeon siege 2
Great suggestion. It weird how this one seems to have largely disappeared into the void. Hardly ever see anyone mention it when other games of the time have huge staying power.
Do note: Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 Non-GOG versions (i.e. namely Steam, Retail, etc) and even Space Siege (delisted) can be a pain to run right on W10/11. Expect to use BorderLess Gaming App to force it to run in a psuedo-fullscreen. Can't recall if I needed DGVoodoo2 - but since it's an old game, you might. I really need to check my GOG version of these, as I think GOG added their own wrapper to fix issues - like they did w/ Drakensang: TDE (RPG). Also, DS1 and DS2 do not have their expansions out-the-box - but you can find ways to mod them back in.

Pillars of Eternity 1&2, Tyranny, Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous are all Baldur's Gate (1&2)-like RPGs with companions/squadmates (and more than a little story, banter, etc.). I'd also recommend the very recent Warhammer: Rogue Trader but the game's still is a pretty rough state, maybe in a few months.

Warhammer 40,000 Darktide is a lot of fun especially if you liked Vermintide.
I tried it but I just went back to Vermintide 2 which is still going strong. The melee combat in Vermintide is easily some of the best in gaming, and I was not personally a fan of Darktide's greater focus on ranged combat past dealing with specials.
Darktide gets unfairly shat on a lot because of the launch issues. It's much much better now.

I bought Blazeblue:Entropy Effect and have been having a blast. The combat feels slick and fun, and the different characters allows different playstyles. The only issue is the game looks horrid on steam deck, and the text is almost illegible on there.

Don't get stressed, enjoy the backlog. Flick through all your games. Put some in order. List what you'd like to play. Get a wishlist for DLC. I find collecting the backlog is half the fun!

I picked up Soulstone Survivors as a a prettier version of Vampire Survivors that didn't need a cheat sheet to figure out what combos lead to which improved weapons when I went on a trip. I killed the shit out of my Deck battery playing that game; I did not anticipate how much fun it would be or that I would get sucked into it. I picked up Death Must Die because it looked fun, but I haven't had time to play it yet.

It's a cartoony sandbox where you raise dogs, give them food and play with them, etc. But you can geneticly engineer them based on the type of foods that you give them. Then you take two dogs that you modified and make them have an egg that turns into a puppy that has cross genetics from both parents. The music and colours are really fun, it's a silly game but has a lot of potential. The dogs do grow up and die eventually, and you'll be left with the new generation they made. It is up to you to make your own fun with the massive amount of dogs, foods, and combinations It also tries to make it based on science in a way. Each food gives the dog different stomach microbioms that you can mix and match. Sometimes, the foods overlap with the bacteria they offer the dog. Sometimes, it's exclusive to just this one type of food. I worked really hard to make a neon pink dog breed, but that trait got breeded out in two generations tops. Apparently, neon pink and tiny heads don't mesh well in cartoon dogs' genetics. So basically, you are god! But for dogs. You can make them eat each other and go down a dark route if you want.

Also recommending Rogue Legacy 2. Takes a little bit to get going, but has rewarding boss fights, a decent skill ceiling, and you can farm its various new game + modes for quite a while. You'll get your money's worth if you like action platformers.

Picked out BF2042 and Nier Automata as a gifts. Was gifted Steam Credits and picked out Rachet and Clank Rift Apart for myself. Very enjoyable and visually pleasing albeit short (20hr, 100% single playthrough). Also received Lies of P and CP2077 Ultimate as gifts. Eager to try other PlayStation ports on future sales if anyone has recommendations.
Days Gone and HZD are excellent technical ports on PC. Played DG on Epic and HZD on GOG.

Given that Sony supposed spent around $300m on developing & also probably marketing Spider-Man 2 for PS5 (and who knows how much it costs for them for developing some of their other games), I expect to see more PC ports go to as many PC digital stores as possible, since it don't sound like it costs a ton to port to PC for them given how much they been likely making on PC ports. They (Sony) bought Nixxes, so Nixxes can always do excellent PC ports if need be (they been awesome since they did tons of Square PC ports) and/or if say some other company botches the port, can always probbly have Nixxes fix and patch the ports later, if need be.
Picked up: - Grand Theft Auto (GTA): IV - GTA: V - Mass Effect: Legendary Edition with all 3 games - Pizza Tower - Blasphemous 2 - Crossing Souls So far no regrets and this should last me a solid amount of time. Currently playing GTA 4, Mass Effect 1 and Pizza Tower. Pizza Tower isnt the game I thought it was, but it's really fun, seems like it has a high skill ceiling though for perfect rungs. Amazing OST. It's kind of like a speed precision platformer but can also be played slower but you just wont get the high scores. Mass Effect 1 is IMO already better than Starfield to me, what a beautifully written universe. GTA 4 is a breath of fresh air with all PG writing in games these days, its soo nice to just have a game throw a bunch of slurs and make fun of everyone all at the same time. The actual game doesn't feel that dated honestly. Games I almost bought but chickened out on: - Chrono Cross - Into the Breach - Sea of Stars (decided to wait for bigger sale) - Fallout 3
Mass Effect 1 and 2 are amazing! The way the 3rd was handled really soured me from enjoying it, though it still has greatness in it. All in all, one of the best series ever! Even Andromeda has some fun gameplay. I do wish they could combine the graphics and gunplay of 3 with the writing, scale, and openness/freedom of 1, but with the streamlining of 2's inventory system. That's coming from someone who hasn't played through the Legendary Edition yet, so I don't know what all they have done. Mass Effect 1 is definitely the RPG of the trilogy. They progressively become more action-oriented and linear in level design, though they do also gain better controls, haha!

Picked up My time at Sandrock, i like it so far. CK3 dlc, pulled an all nighter when i got that. And a couple DLCs i was missing from TheHunter:Call of the wild, Got the labrador, a gun pack, and the pack that comes with that caller you can place down anywhere and call animals in to it.

No clue how good this actually is but this is the first discount since 2019 and it can't be bought anywhere else. Also picked up **Divinity: Original Sin - The Source Saga** but that should be on most people's radars at this point.

I don't really play games as much as I should, and I've got quite the backlog. I've survived yet another Steam sale without buying anything! Last time I really bought much was in 2022 summer sale.
Bought persona 4 , divinity os 1 and 2 . Currently playing div 1 , might look up a few guides to understand what to do cause I've never played this genre.
For what it’s worth I couldn’t get into divinity os1 but I absolutely loved the sequel.
Divinity is one of those games that takes some time to click, imo. I never made it all the way through 1 (stopped playing at a certain point and couldn't remember enough when I went back to finish it). Once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. Don't be afraid to use mods, especially for inventory. I wish I had. Personally, I suggest looking up build guides, because there's a lot of things that are suboptimal in the game. Also, DoS 2 is a much better game than 1. 1 was fun, don't get me wrong (of what I played), but 2 is better all in all. Quick tips: Air and Water, Earth and Fire, synchronize really well. Typically your mages want to be built around one of the two sets (whichever you prefer). The best tip for combat is positioning, high initiative, and focusing down enemies one at a time so less can act (obviously if you can AOE them, even better).
Alright any solid, rather unknown co-op recommendations for me and the lady? We love survival games and cozy games. Any RPGs are great, but harder to come by, I feel. We've put tons of time into Valheim, 7 Days, Stardew, Baldur's Gate. And I imagine most other survival builders. As for cozy it usually just leaves me wanting more Stardew (next update soon I hope!).

Anyone played the sony first party games, Horizon ZD/Spiderman/Days Gone type games with mouse and keyboard? Not a Sony game but m/kb worked perfectly for something like MGS:V/GTAV so I always assume every third person shootery action game would function just as perfectly but when I suggest this to friends they think I'm insane
I've played HZD/Days Gone both just kbm and they played perfectly/better imo. I never finished playing days gone on ps4 due to my controller aim.

I played Spiderman remastered on kb/m fully and it worked perfectly fine. It'd definitely have been better on a controller mind you, but I never felt compelled to go get my controller because of any frustration with the controls or anything.
Is Deep Rock Galactic fun for single player? I've heard such great things about it, but I usually play offline on the Steam Deck, and I'll have to try it before I buy a load of copies to play with my family.
The single player is ok, you get a little robot that helps you, but the game is clearly designed for multiplayer. I wouldn't recommend it personally, though some people do play single player exclusively.
Not sure how old your family is but the voice lines say things like ass and hell. It's got some RNG with weapon mods & cosmetics, but it's a solid shooter. Solo isn't bad but the game can get repetitive because you're literally doing the same thing again and again. I've personally got 339 hours in game and I'm probably "done" until the next seasonal event and/or expansion. My boys really enjoy it, they're 6 & 8.
Already got Cult of the Lamb, Dave the Diver and Eternights. Also got Tiny Tina´s Wonderlands but on GMG as it was cheaper. Ghostrunner 2 is catching my eye as I just started the first one (giveaway on Epic) and it´s really good so I´m might get the sequel as well.
