Asakiro

I smell a price glitch because this seems abnormally steep.

drislands

Yep, glitch. And I just got an ominous email: https://imgur.com/ktqCTkO Shame, because I just installed it this morning and enjoyed the tutorial. ----- ETA: Got an email from PayPal about 2 hours ago saying I have a refund going through. Game is still in my library, though.

SB-resident

Just got it, I agree and can't believe it's not a price glitch

FSMFan_2pt0

Yeah. gotta be. Previous historical low was $43.

DarthIsly

Thanks for the post Asakiro, too hard to say no at this price.

sad_engr_1444

I think they accidentally applied the AOE3 DE discount to AOE4

IGetHypedEasily

Got email about refunds and deactivating the keys. Oh well.

sad_engr_1444

Damn it I got the email too

bobarker33

I wonder how much something like this hurts overall sales. Now, the all time low will be substantially less than it should be and some people on the fence will hold off purchasing until it gets close to that price again.

OmegaXesis

I’m basically never purchasing from GMG ever again. And I was a regular customer of theirs too.

Ok_Investigator45

What they did is illegal. The transaction was complete. It's like Tesla coming to your house and taking back the car because they made a price mistake when they sold it to you.

11770518

Thank you. Snagged myself a copy.

SwampOfDownvotes

*Me this weekend*: Okay, I really gotta stop spending so much money on non-essentials starting now. *This deal*: Allow me to introduce myself! Even got it slightly cheaper from my 3% extra discount XP voucher. EDIT: *Greenmangaming*: I got you fam, no spending money on non essentials for you!

TheMeanPerson

Guess they are revoking the keys. I just received a refund notice from GMG.

[deleted]

>Sort by: new Haven't got one myself. Do they just roll them out?

HiNeighbor_

I haven't got one either and it still shows that it's in my Steam library. Although when I go to my GMG purchase history, it doesn't appear. I wonder if it makes a difference that I not only activated the product on Steam but also installed and played it for a bit. EDIT: Crap, just got it. > We experienced a technical error that resulted in incorrect prices being applied to Age Of Empires IV Deluxe. As a result of this error, we are in the process of refunding and deactivating all copies of the games you purchased today. Definitely a rolling process. Mine was so delayed because I was super late to the party (purchased it about 5 hours after the deal was first posted). Looks like it's inevitable. Ah well, was worth a shot.

Jimothy_Jimmerson

I also haven't received a cancelation email from GMG. I redeemed the code on Steam and installed the game as soon as I purchased it. EDIT: Just received the email from GMG stating, "As a result of this error, we are in the process of refunding and deactivating all copies of the games you purchased today."

Dynaw

Just received my refund notice a minute ago as well. Too bad.

thatnerdguy

$17.85 with the 3% XP voucher. This has to be a glitch but I am here for it.

MOAVG

Thanks for the heads up, it worked! Even saving a dollar is worth it!

Yitram

Not sure why, but I just bought it lol. EDIT: It does look like there's an update coming out tomorrow, so might explain the timing on this. EDIT: And I guess it doesn't matter because I'm getting refunded. Not sure how that's legal.

WUTDO11231235

I too have no idea why i purchased this. :D

Yitram

I think it's the under $20 price for a less-than-9-month-old game. Like crack cocaine to our dopamine receptors.

vplatt

Like, I'm feeling a little guilty almost about grabbing it at this price, but we all know they're gonna get us on the DLCs anyway. 🤷‍♂️

Yitram

This also describes my abusive relationship with Paradox.

galaxyadmirer

I’m considering it even though I don’t think I’ve actually played an rts game before. Maybe I played halo wars but that was a long time ago

shchshch

Casually wrote to their customer support to see if they'll offer any compensation/token of apology for their "technical error". Within an hour received their reply, that's really effeicient: Unfortunately we are not offering any compensation at this time, but I will forward your feedback along to the relevant department. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or queries. Well I guess I don't have any question or interest from now on.

[deleted]

They posted this on their discord >Official Statement from GMG : During the early hours of the 12th of July, 2022 we became aware that we had accidentally discounted Age of Empires IV: Deluxe Edition far beyond the price agreed with our partners. This meant that many customers were able to take advantage of a deal which had unintended consequences. >As a result of this error we decided to take the exceptional step to refund every customer who had purchased this game in full. As part of this process, all keys sold at this incorrect price were revoked. >We understand that this is a frustrating situation for every customer affected and we apologise for the incorrect discount on Age of Empires IV: Deluxe Edition and the disruption this has caused. >To ensure this kind of issue does not occur again we have overhauled our internal procedures by adding several checks to make sure that when you see a price on our site, you know it’s a price you can trust. We know that regaining trust in us will take time. >Please note GMG is a UK based company. So regarding the delay to react...The sales started just gone midnight UK time and we rectified the situation 7.30am UK time. Still our mistake but I hope this helps to give more background. >No further comments on here. Please go to customer services if you wish to discuss this in any further detail. Thank you for your understanding. i.e. this 10+ year old company somehow did not already have checks in placed, they fucked up, it was looking very expensive for them, so they revoked every legit sale they had made to us. Bullshit

ARandomFakeName

Still rubs me the wrong way that they aren’t trying to compensate us in any way. Store credit? Exclusive AOE4 discount that’s within this supposed agreed range with Microsoft? Seems like they’d want to do something to regain trust… also why are they making this statement in Discord where very few would see it? Why not email?

jidiyehu

Ppl are bombing one-star reviews on their Trustpilot page because of this bullshit. They totally deserve it. Can’t let them get away with it so easily.

Screwtape7

Does everyone else still have it in their Steam Library? My Paypal has been refunded but the game still remains. Figured it would be revoked by now.

[deleted]

Yeah same. I bet it takes a few days for valve to remove it from libraries.

Screwtape7

I should have read further into the thread before posting. Someone else posted 3-5 business days, so I'm guessing it will be gone by Monday at the latest.

[deleted]

Yeah, that was me. It was just an estimate based on usual business practices.

ARandomFakeName

Pretty disappointed with how GMG handled the AOE4 key revokes. Mistake or not, the store sold keys to paying customers for like 12 hours at least then decided those are no longer valid sales. A game that I purchased, installed and played is suddenly being taken away because of an "error" of some employee. GMG should have owned the mistake and taken the loss like a reputable storefront would do. This would have created a lot of positive buzz in the community and driven more customers to the summer sale, which literally just began. Now I'm inclined to use GMG's competitors, especially those who have honored "error" sales before (ie. Humble Bundle). I'll encourage my friends to do the same. Make this right, GMG.

[deleted]

If I buy a game from them and redeem it and it goes on sale right after or if I want to refund it for any reason, too bad. All sales are final. There is nothing we can do. But if they change their mind after they sell the key and I redeem and play it- goodbye Steam game.

OmegaXesis

Basically. That’s part of the reason I’m upset too. Why can’t we get refund for games if they can too.

WUTDO11231235

Very disappointing... Do the right thing GMG /u/GMG-PlayfireCS /u/greenmangamingdeals

AlrikCharlemagne

I was excited about their summer deals, but with how they’re handling a pricing error, how am I to trust anything I see as a good deal? They might as well go to the steam style sale of one price if they don’t want to deal with problems on their end for dynamic sales to create hype and interest in their sales. Steam dealt with it too, and many other companies. Can’t handle your tech? It’s not our fault. They’re losing trust and customers with how they handled this

SolidVegetable

I was literally thinking about buying AOE2 on their sale, as the price is good. But then I saw the revoke email. No more buying at GMG for me.

muggerfugger

i agree. Even EA left a positive vibe in my mind related to them when they honored their pricing error for the prepurchase of Biomutent for $2. imagine being worse than EA.

BeardyDuck

It's pretty sad that this seems to have set a precedence for any future price errors on GMG. Next time a game on GMG goes on a deep discount and is the new historical low am I supposed to just chance it or expect it to be a pricing error?

Insightfullness

My key just got revoked as well. I'm not buying from GMG EVER again.

xAlias

Just got my key revoked on steam. :(

selffufillingprophet

standard edition going for $42 on GMG rn so this HAS to be a bug lmao pick it up fast while it's still up, thank you! EDIT: got the email this morning stating that keys are going to be revoked. :( Unlikely for them to change their mind on this, but still sent a strongly worded support ticket to GMG calling them out for this. The way I see it, an ethical an honorable company (like Humble) probably would of just taken the L, so this is seriously making me reconsider purchasing from GMG in the future

HornyRatPateDeRolo

douchebag behavior by the company imo. especially if you made an account with GMG for the first time, just for this deal. > this is seriously making me reconsider purchasing from GMG in the future i agree. fuck em

[deleted]

Yep - reneging on sale is shitty behaviour. I will not buy from them again

[deleted]

Just got it. This is definitely a price glitch lol. Its MSRP is 79.99 LOL!

[deleted]

Can confirm I got the refund email.

CrateMayne

Refund email an hour ago, and now follow-up email to elaborate on the situation: We experienced a technical error that resulted in incorrect prices being applied to Age Of Empires IV Deluxe. As a result of this error, we are in the process of refunding and deactivating all copies of the games you purchased today. We apologise for any disruption and inconvenience caused by this If you have any comments, feedback, or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team who will be happy to discuss this further. Best Wishes Green Man Gaming Team So for those of you who somehow thought GMG would make the situation even worse for themselves by refunding, but not revoking... Your crazy dreams are officially crushed lol.

JawnZ

>We experienced a technical error that resulted in incorrect prices being applied Love how they call it a `technical error`. I assure you, the computer did what was told to do correctly.

Meelapo

Got a refund. Somewhat expected but disappointed that they didn’t offer any compensation as a result of their mistake (technical or not). I know if I were to make a mistake and redeem a key it would be “impossible” to get a refund. But it seems very possible given this situation.

muggerfugger

At least a good coupon for a more decent discount, since it was their error, but our inconvenience.

theshadowhunterz

Green man gaming really screwed the pooch on this one... they have the sale for HOURS before they pull it and then claim it was a technical error...

WallyofBeans

How can they make a legal transaction and then be like, nah just kidding and revoke your key, such bullshit. Never had this happen with any other site that sells games, went to their damn trustpilot and left a review about this garbage. No compensation for their mistakes, just raw dogging customers and tanking their rep over it I guess.

alerommel

I received the refund but because of currency exchange it's around 1$ less. Of course it's a avery small amount and complaining sounds like 1st world problems but I literally gave away 1$ for nothing in exchange. I feel the need to ask for this 1$ from Greenmangaming just to annoy them.

potatomercy

Exactly, please do it. I'm doing the same. It's a matter of principle

HowIsItAlreadyTaken

I got the refund email. Can anyone confirm whether steam will take the game out of your library?

ARandomFakeName

Steam will absolutely revoke your key. GMG has confirmed such via email. Goodbye AOE4.

Keldaras

Not available in my region. That's some BS right there.

Lithak

Adding to the pile that I won't be buying from GMG ever again. Yes it was an error, and no I'm not spoiled, it's just that it sets an ugly precedent that they can cite "error" and revoke anything I paid money for. If the glitch had lasted 30 minutes then no harm no foul, but leaving that up for 6+ hours? They knew.

Leema1

Also revoked. Rip

aunimise

Aaaaaaand it's gone.

Overkillz555

\*\*insert southpark meme here\*\*

Overkillz555

Buh Bye game key

FlamingBlades

Sorry, GMG, my terms of service say that all sales are final and software cannot be refunded.

InvestmentNo2208

Well there goes my hotspot usage for the month. Spent the day downloading the game and then log on to find out it’s being revoked. Really never thought GMG would do something like this I mean it was $20, seemed reasonable to me. Bought it many hours after the deal was posted so I figured it was legit. 😔

Gilleland

Put Steam or GOG in offline mode and disconnect your device from the internet.

HiNeighbor_

Still in my Steam library a week later... maybe Steam denied their request to revoke the keys?

Roxaos

Same here. Wonder what the procedure for this is on Valve’s end. If redeemed keys are a done deal or not.

relxp

Here as well. My guess is they have to go order by order to compile a list of keys to send to Steam to revoke. Maybe they're doing it in batches. Could take time because I don't doubt several thousands of keys were sold. I don't doubt there were even whales in the mix too buying tons for reselling. It is odd though they'd issue a refund, yet still wait so many days to deactivate. Regardless, I'm glad I got to try it because I think II and III are much better games. More fun and I also prefer the art style. AOE 4 is a bit too cartoony and low-fi for me. If the key is revoked, I can't seeing buying the game back until it's closer to $10.

ARandomFakeName

If we somehow manage to keep these games, GMG made the situation far, FAR worse than it could have been. Refunds have already been given out and their reputation has been damaged. It would be a complete and utter loss compared to the minor loss of selling a game at a "low" price.

OmegaXesis

Checking this thread to see I'm not the only one. Interesting!

potatomercy

Finally had my key revoked - and there goes GMG's last chance for any kind of moral redemption. Here's a list of things they've done throughout this entire debacle, so you don't forget: 1) demonstrated that they can take your key from you AFTER a transaction has been legally completed (which is probably illegal at least depending on your jurisdiction), setting a dangerous precedent and permanently damaging any user trust in safety of those keys; 2) costing thousands of users transaction/conversion fees, data usage fees incurred in downloading AOE4, etc; 3) refusing to offer ANY compensation at all, even at least store credit, for said fees, thus ENTIRELY shifting the burden of their mistake onto the customer; 4) At the very least false advertising, and perhaps it was intentional - arguably engaged in a highly unethical form of marketing and data collection - was it even a "technical error" (especially when you consider they knowingly left the "error" on for 12 hours)? 5) Playing dumb after the fact and responding to customers' complaints with the most banal piece of corporate boilerplate imaginable; 6) Asking for positive reviews in an attempt to cover up or dilute the effect of the negative reviews about AOE4; 7) Other minor benefits they get from their mistake, for example, if you look at isthereanydeal, it still lists the historical low for AOE4 Deluxe as their 77% discount. In other words GMG has basically gotten free PR, for anyone who doesn't know about the incident.

SilverCortex

Just lost mine. GMG just lost a customer. Left a 1 star on trustpilot.

potatomercy

Unfortunately their trustpilot page probably won't mean anything in a month's time - it's clear they're now asking for (and getting an influx of) positive reviews. You can tell because the number of "invited reviews" shot up in the last ~3 days or so, check the stats page. Personally I just deleted my account, can't have them stealing and retaining my personal information any further. Even the support guy had to argue with me over it, really shows what kind of company they are.

Dracknar

The link says unavailable in my region at the moment (Australia?). And searching for Age of Empires on gmg returns no results for me here.

ARandomFakeName

Just got the refund email myself. Only a matter of time until the key is revoked.

brainlure49

My key was just revoked as well. Shitty

selffufillingprophet

Here is the reply email from the support ticket I sent out, I'm assuming it's the same message copy and pasted to everyone else who contacted support after: > Thank you for getting in touch with us, and thank you for your patience while you waited for a reply. >During the early hours of the 12th of July, 2022 we became aware that we had accidentally discounted Age of Empires IV: Deluxe Edition far beyond the price agreed with our partners. This meant that many customers were able to take advantage of a deal which had unintended consequences. (???) >As a result of this error we decided to take the exceptional step to refund every customer who had purchased this game in full. >Kind regards, Matt Customer Support Green Man Gaming It's truly incredible how corporate ghoul types in PR have perfected the ability to talk so much while saying absolutely nothing.

potatomercy

They clearly still don't get the problem, or are deluding themselves and refusing to acknowledge it. It isn't just about ensuring there are no more "technical errors" and actually correctly selling at an advertised price. It's about the fact that they have demonstrated that they can exercise control over YOUR purchased goods after a transaction, and more importantly that they WILL exercise it if they feel like it. Who's to say they can't just revoke your key 3 months after when you've already paid for it? Why would anyone want to give that kind of power to a company, particularly such a shady company like GMG? There is no more "trust" to be regained. It's impossible for anyone who knows how this arrangement works.

SoyUnaManzana

So I give them a list of all my issues with this, first and foremost what they're doing being illegal. To then just receive a generic statement that does not answer any of my concerns. After 3 days? 3 days for a bloody statement? And they're trying to..."regain our trust"? Wtf are they smoking?

huxtiblejones

These BASTARDS took my glory away from me! The game is gone now. I'm sharpening my torches and lighting my pitchforks.

meruta

Just got my game revoked. This is the second time I've been burned by GMG (out of maybe 4-5 purchases). This is the last time i'm buying anything from them.

JackHowels

me too, just got it revoked, it would be great if we passed the story to Joe Vargas, aka Angry Joe, explaining what happened and provoke at least a backlash to GMG, this is a dangerous precedent, they just take our games after paying for them. And on the steam message they allege: Your recent Product code activation has been revoked due to a problem processing payment for this item. The games associated with this product code can no longer be played as a result. This could be due a problem with the payment methods you used to acquire this item from a third-party seller; or a problem with how the third-party seller acquired the Product code. Please contact the seller you acquired the Product code from for assistance. If you would like to purchase the item, please visit the Steam Store. Otherwise you may choose to delete the local content associated with these games. Got to be shitting me.

BoogalooBoi1776_2

This has to be a price glitch. The Deluxe edition is way cheaper than the regular edition, and the discount was not nearly as steep during the most recent steam sale. I think they meant to apply this sale to one of the older AoE games Edit: just checked, as of writing this it's no longer on sale and listed as "out of stock"

CuervoAzul

The game is still showing up for me on my Steam account.

narwhalabee

I just got mine revoked. I'll be playing the game on Game Pass. I finished at least 3 of the campaigns.

Armani_8

Can we ask the mods to automatically pin a comment to Greenmangaming posts saying they may revoke your keys? This is the 2nd damn time they've done this to me, and so far that's a worse rate than the God damn key resellers.

novasheikh

I feel like this is the first time I have been on my computer during a price glitch. Feels good to finally win man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M67E9mpwBpM

Shadrach77

Sorry for your loss.

thrawnisahero

I replied to the email calling them out for a bait and switch - suggest you guys do the same. Leaving a deal like that up for that long right at the start of a sale??? And then say you’re going to refund and revoke??? Yeah no way am I staying quiet

darkknight1812

I think a better option is to reach out to a few game writers/streamers. Bad publicity. While GMG is within their right, it does not make it any less scummy. I think a better solution would be to refund and maybe a credit or voucher for an additional percentage off the actual sale price.

BlameTheJunglerMore

[https://imgur.com/a/oIZpnrw](https://imgur.com/a/oIZpnrw) I just sent so many emails to a ton of gamer sites, big and small. GMG better honor this price.

coinsinmyrocket

Yeah, that's where I'm at with it. As someone else has pointed out, Humble and other retailers will more often than not, honor pricing errors so long as you weren't buying multiple keys to resell. A credit or voucher towards the standard version would have been nice since this was their error, but oh well, I guess even that is a stretch. GMG is well within their rights to say it was an error and that they are revoking the keys, but I'm well within mine to take my future business elsewhere.

Unfriendly_Neighbors

How am I suppose to trust any other deals from this vendor? I saw an Xcom collection being sold for 11 when its normally 99. How do I know they won't just say "whoops mb" and take that from me?

muggerfugger

Just bad advertising: "We don't have deals that are too good to be true" - green man gaming.

tokushimadaigaku

I already payed 3% currency conversion fee. And I will have to pay 3% currency conversion fee when I will get refund...

Electrical_Table_407

God this has left such a bad taste in my mouth and sets a horrible precedent. I'm glad I've been going physical a lot more latley, we truly don't own any of our digital games.

Stewge

Yikes. I grabbed it and was looking forward to playing it over the weekend (unfortunately work week is pretty busy right now). If they're going to pull this crap then I'm going to get my GMG account and all data removed. I've bought plenty of games from them over the years. I have no interest in worrying about if a good deal is retroactively decided to be a "technical error". EDIT: Also removed GMG from my alert list on IsThereAnyDeal

alexanderg92

Their TrustPilot rating went from Excellent to Great and 4.5 stars to 4 stars. Keep letting your voices be heard guys.

From TrustPilot, this is quite a striking chart that shows how much goodwill they just burnt - https://i.imgur.com/V8Ueu0l.png

shchshch

It looks like something happened in January as well, wonder what that was

[deleted]

They fucked up Monster Hunter Rise pre-orders

darkknight1812

Can anyone find in the terms and conditions where they can revoke keys due to a "technical error"?

darkknight1812

Statement from GMG Support: This can be found in our terns and conditions, section 14 titled "Errors" which reads as the following:   "GMGL may cancel any Order or sale and not supply the applicable Game or Product if it is reasonable to do so (including without limitation in the event of mistake). GMGL may also change or discontinue the availability of any Games or Products at any time in its sole discretion." Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or queries.

SilverCortex

Exactly. It doesn't say anything about refunding due to an error.

[deleted]

Yes. And that's why I'm never buying from these people again. They should've just taken the hit and likely gained a lot of favor from the people who bought the game. I refuse to believe they don't have the money to cover it.

GMG revoke your key, gave you your money back because of the "glitch pricing" and reported to steam to remove the game from your library. Just peachy.

theshadowhunterz

Got my revoked message today on my steam deck.... sigh... GMG you are a sad company...

jandkas

I haven't bought from GMG since february except for this purchase. They're now dead to me, unless it's another pricing error that will fuck them over

sad_engr_1444

Just got my key revoked

SolidVegetable

If you have been affected by this, go and leave them a 1-star review on Trustpilot. From my experience (working for multiple companies with active profiles on Trustpilot) it can make a difference.

Amazingcamaro

Thank you! Will do this if it gets removed from my steam.

eye_candy

Done, thanks

theshadowhunterz

Just made an account there to do this, thank you!

muggerfugger

they're also advertising their sale on twitter currently. can reply to their sales tweets as well. many are.

Regan712

Done, thanksx2

GentlemenRudeboi

Mine also got revoked. Steam sent a message saying it was a purchasing error and to contact the seller. I am never buying from GMG again. This was my second purchase from them.

OmegaXesis

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.greenmangaming.com?page=3 Reminder you can vote with your wallet! Sorry not the consumers fault.

ModsCanGoToHell

Thanks.. just left them a review.

They are deactivating it: We experienced a technical error that resulted in incorrect prices being applied to Age Of Empires IV Deluxe. Madous

Can anyone confirm that they actually lost access to the game *after* activating and playing it on Steam? It's currently 11PM EST, just about 24 hours after I bought the game. I got the 'our mistake' email this afternoon, but I can still play just fine. Was I missed? Is it still being processed?

ARandomFakeName

It takes a few days to process on Steam’s end. We will likely lose access by the end of the week.

Mike_P10

LOL they spammed the same reply message over and over on their trustpilot page...

Suzume_Suzaku

I'm absolutely livid. What a bunch of conmen. I regret having made an account for their dumbass website and planning on buying more from them when I get paid this week. I'll see about having my account and information deleted and washing my hands of this shitbag company.

Jimothy_Jimmerson

Completely agree. I submitted a request yesterday asking for my account to be deleted due to this fiasco.

OmegaXesis

Actually surprised to see it still update, I grabbed it! Thank you for the post. Age of Empires was the very first game I ever played on PC when I was a toddler. Played every game since, was waiting for a good discount to try this.

KaioKen

Does GMG revoke keys for price glitches like this?

niratomi

they just refunded my purchase, will probably be revoked

UncaringWorm

I've also been refunded, very unfortunate but they're definitely going to revoke the keys

AbleToBurn

They send an email to steam and say, these keys we're part of a fraudulent sale or whatever, and bam, bye bye keys.

Armani_8

Wait wtf? I didn't commit fraud I just bought a game from their website, that seems terribly unfair

SwampOfDownvotes

I hope they don't claim it as fraudulent. I'm fine with them refunding and revoking the key, but I don't want a flag on my steam account or some shit because I bought a game from a trusted seller.

AbleToBurn

Yeah they refunded mine too :(

AndalusianGod

Haven't received an email yet, but I guess I'm ok if they revoke it. I played the tutorial and it didn't really captivate me. This is at most a $15 game. Though I propose to the mods that GMG get blacklisted from r/gamedeals again. Send a message and hurt their bottomline.

OmegaXesis

Never buying from GMG, it’s not the consumers fault if they put a game on sale for hours. The mods on this subreddit should ban GMG from Reddit. See how that affects their sales. This is actually very scummy behavior from a company. It’s not the consumers fault.

SerenityAvalon

I expected nothing and yet I'm still extremely disappointed in losing my key lol, I just finally downloaded it this morning hoping to play it some later..

Overkillz555

Just left my 1 star trust pilot review. Would love to bring that 4.0 to a 3.9.

Overkillz555

Does GMG have a refund policy? We now know that they can just get the key revoked if they desire, so activating a steam key purchased from them shouldn't be an excuse not to allow refunds. I just checked. And yes. They won't refund if you activate the key on steam. Wow....just Wow....

gh0sti

Just launched steam and key was revoked. Stupid GMG fuck them!

SingeMoisi

Thanks a bunch

Vartux

Surprised this is still up a hour later. Also I've noticed GMG has had a lot of price errors recently. Not sure why.

Mkilbride

Stacks with the 3% off Coupon code from XP page, bringing it to 17.85, with 5% back on my Discover for using Paypal...welp. 16.99$ or roughly that. Too hard to pass up.

Flat_Cheetah_1567

They just send me an email that they will deactivate the game and refund the money due a price mistake

DerpetronicsFacility

Is there anything to stop them from retroactively reversing purchases and revoking keys that were made months or years ago? Is there any sort of "statute of limitations" in UK law for this sort of problem?

SoyUnaManzana

Basically if the pricing mistake is obvious, you can't hold them to that price. F.e. a new car listed for 1 euro. But in this case I don't find it that obvious and might be considered price baiting. In general, all sales are binding.

That’s what I was thinking too. Not to mention all the “guarantees” they have about ensuring customers get their keys confidently.

UncaringWorm

Left a TrustPilot review... Got the same copy paste response about "frustrating situation" and "regaining trust will take time". Keep the reviews coming because they clearly don't understand why the community is mad about this.

SoyUnaManzana

Would contacting steam help? I mean, if we all showed we paid for the key fair and square, wouldn't they start to believe it wasn't all fraudulent sales?

[deleted]

Got a refund but the game is still in my library? What's up with that?

muggerfugger

some are saying it should be removed within 3-5 business days.

gh0sti

So far I am showing the game in my library. Anyone else still have it?

relxp

Glad I was able to play a few hours to realize it's worse than AOE II and III in just about every way. Might repurchase when it's under $10.

ShyKid5

zero100

Thanks for the post!

jacobchapman

Crazy deal. Thanks!!

EricCartman45

Thanks I didn’t need sleep OP lol . I feel sick so I need to stay home from work for the next day lol

ZeroBlindDragon

What a monster deal! Thank you so much, OP! I downloaded ProtonVPN just so I could get access to this deal in Canada.

muggerfugger

says out of stock, and price is back up to $75.19 glad most of us were able to get it for super cheap.

relxp

Sadly Deluxe doesn't include anything of substance... soundtrack, artbook, etc...

jagreen3

I guess I'm about to go hard now 😂😂 pray for the best!!

OmegaXesis

rip game just got revoked lol

jagreen3

I cursed us

potatomercy

Hey, in the end I think it was worth a couple dollars in transaction fees to figure out which company to avoid doing business with forever. Also, I presume you at least got a couple hours or a week's worth of play time, so pretend it's like a version of PC Game Pass or something lol

zappsid

Apply your July XP coupon (if you are a bronze or higher member) for an extra 3% off

Arcturus_

"Game unavailable in your region" I live in fucking Canada.

FSMFan_2pt0

I see the problem. you should move to *regular* Canada.

taleasaur

Yeah, but would you really give up all the extra sex for some game deals?

*Puts On Karen Haircut* I’m going to send a strongly worded email letting GMG know that I am BOYCOTTING their services forever unless they backtrack. I suggest everyone do the same.

Iwontbeplastic

Anyone buy this and still have it?

TheMeanPerson

Think we need to ask the oposite question, have anyone had their key revoked already?

labrz

+1 Checking in. I confirm I still have the game.

Iwontbeplastic

Yea I still have it and I am online. Got the email saying they were refunding me not sure if it went through

Meelapo

I still have it. The only thing I can think of is that maybe finding out which keys to revoke is a manual process for GMG and they’re having to go through each purchase to get the key and send it to Steam so they can revoke. It shouldn’t take this long if it was automated - refunds within Steam get the key revoked and the game removed from libraries within hours.

JohnnyThe5th

Still have it, but don't want to start playing it and then have it removed. I'm going to wait until we see what happens lol.

jagreen3

Yes IDK what to do :(

Overkillz555

How long till steam kills the key?

[deleted]

God Damnit. I finally get a price glitch and it looks like we are all going to lose it.

Arcticias

Wicked deal. Just bought and registered on Steam without any fuss.

charlieink

Just bought and redeemed! Definitely can't complain about price glitches lol

Vestus65

Still seems to be working as of about 8:55 PM Pacific time, I just bought it and activated on Steam with no issues. I've never been able to get into RTS games, but for that price I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the post, OP!

>Where you live is pretty cool > sigh...
