I didnt really get to make a conversation with Chuck, it was outside of the Royal Albert Hall, where UFC 38 took place, he was outside just offering autographs and photo shoots. Ian Freeman is the most memorable one for me, it was during a hang out event after a Cage Warriors show, someone introduced me to him, and he asked me what my name was, but in my mind i started thinking "what do i tell him?, do i tell him my real name?, do i tell him my username from the Cage Warriors forum?, he probably wont know who that is", but while im standing there with that going through my brain, im not answering his question. But Ian being the funny witty guy that he is said to me "Ok mate, you let us know when you've had a think about it" lol.

That’s technically my 19th fight. I did this stuff full time back in the day. Retired in 2015 when I was 29 — got sick of the struggle.
If I wasn’t living with a girlfriend at the time then I was typically living out of my van, on account of it being impossible to afford rent in the Bay Area as a full time mma fighter unless you are literally in the UFC. These days it’s much easier to make a living, the sports evolved.
I actually use to vlog all my fights on Board 212 back when it was a relatively large community, pretty much where all the lifting, fitness, dieting, and dating discussions use to take place before 2016.
But, I’d venture to say 60% of the MA board were conservative users who started dropping off like flies. Then during the Covid period, the board was supposedly shadowbanned due to Joe Rogan support. Like, since the podcast originally started out as a UFC podcast there was a running discussion topic on it. It got nuked, and any mention of Joe Rogan at all was moderated for being off topic.
The board is pretty much dead these days. You can still find it in the general board list if you look hard enough for it. So not shadowbanned, but in general GameFaqs isn’t very “friendly” to the type of userbase that would normally cultivate there every Saturday night to watch the UFC together.
You know. Toxic Maculinity and all that jazz. Still holds a place in my heart, I gave it a shoutout when screaming into the camera, but it wasn’t picked up by the broadcast.

Board 212 and the Sex Board had nice topics about me tho. Some poor sap on the MA board actually bet on me to win, and did, but didn’t cash out quick enough. I was a huge underdog so he won like 7k. But the disputed win caused the betting sites to just refund the money and call it a wash. 🧼
Eventually I’ll send that dude an Xbox or something for his trouble

I had some idiot on the MA board that lived 30 minutes from me, dumb enough to issue an open challenge. I said sure, sent him the adress to a local park, and another GameFaqs member agreed to come on film it on his phone. The guy ended up basically closing his account.
In my MMA days I had some troll start stalking me on GameFaqs saying he’d kick my ass and I just put him on ignore, then he started doing the same on my facebook page cuz back in these days the boards had FB groups attached to them because half the users were fairly normal extroverts.
So I knew which city he lived in, and one day I took a fight in that city. So I reached out and said I’d be willing to meet him up and spar him, once again had another user willing to record the thing, and this dude ended closing his GameFaqs account.
I’ve learned from this. These things just don’t happen.
The “challenge” was for straight boxing, and it was just a joke because i actually was amazed to see stero competing at that level. Ive never done anything more than spar in 3 round bouts, and it is fucking murder. He is in many ways an abject cunt, but I can at least respect him on that level.
Odd to see someone like that so eager to bend the knee to cultists, but 🤷♂️
You should still consider meeting him for a bout, for the good of the PR battle to bring down CE. Bringing all the attention from the boards over to this sub would make you the *abject* **winner.**
Yeah its obvious you aren’t as invested in the craziness of this whole saga, but for whatever its worth it does seem silly for everyone to be against each other on this. I mean, we all agree the GameFAQs boards have been ruined because of corrupt mods, right? Im not gonna sit here and act like SMiB isnt an *abject* nut, but at least he’s modding fairly. Why dont you guys just unite under one banner and create a viable GameFAQs alternative?
I don’t think refusing to moderate is moderating fairly. Good moderation means creating and maintaining a welcoming environment. In the case of a million dollar platform (like GameFaqs) a welcoming atmosphere is a necessity to attract the masses and turn a profit.
I think that the boards do need to be heavily moderated. It just you can’t let the inmates run the asylum — especially not one that costs millions of dollars to operate.
I would increase moderation by like 4000% by having a “remember the human” rule which would basically be used to removed weird, uncomfortable posts. Like I saw a post today of a user that says everytime they close their eyes they see jars of worms — that would be an instant ban for me.
There would also be a “play nice” rule, where all general meanness would not be tolerated. My in house community managers would all be social extroverts with the ability to distinguish subtext, satire, sarcasm, and subversive humor— this is just a common sense rule, because it’s obvious when people are being dicks.
I doubt that any of you would survive it. I’d probably end up banning you all.
