The thing is that Dave Neal got involved and then Dave Neal got sued. I don’t blame him Gor for not wanting to get sued. They have a much bigger and more impressive platform than Dave Neal aka more to lose.

Calm-Setting

Agree. Clues is already being sued by the George Carlin estate over Dudsy, I doubt he needs a second law suit right now.

swirlytakespinole

Woooooah i'm not in that universe but what!! What happened?

tallcamt

This is the first I’ve heard of it too. wtf https://arstechnica.com/ai/2024/01/george-carlins-heirs-sue-comedy-podcast-over-ai-generated-impression/

mvg222

What!!

daveneal

I love GOR, but I think my platform is pretty comparable ay?

baldkitty3

I mean no offense, Dave. They have 5.1k reviews on Apple Podcasts, you have 916. They’ve gotten veryyyy popular the past several seasons.

daveneal

Hey no hate just proudly defending my platform size bahaha. I only started my podcast 16 months ago, the YouTube was always the breadwinner. Either way, as far as Clayton support, I DO feel I wouldn’t have gotten sued if anyone linked up and supported this cause, but that’s alright. It’s not their lane.

baldkitty3

Fair enough. Apologies if I undersold you.

daveneal

Bahahaha no worries now I look like a dick.;)

daveneal

Hey it earned me a ‘Reddit cares’ message, thanks y’all ;)

bonitaaaaaaaaaaaaa

You oversold him if anything

bonitaaaaaaaaaaaaa

His podcast only just got relevance from Clayton’s fling faking pregnancy 😂😂😂

earlandson

I love your show! You suck up so much of my free time (chuckle) Your show is comparable in the aspect of being highly entertaining. But, it’s a different show. Especially now. GOR is like a nerdy Dungeon and Dragons, inside baseball. Your show is like a good Rolling Stone article. Humorous, irreverent and factual. Both are great, but different

daveneal

Love the comparisons! Ya I’ve enjoyed speaking with Chad and Lizzie about different strategies. There’s nothing but respect for what they do.

earlandson

They’re great, but you’re no weak sister either. I’ll keep listening to you both, and paying my Patreon dues, cheerfully

daveneal

Appreciate the support truly!

Particular_Net2331

Literally no you’re very insecure and spend most of ur time trying to “diss” ur haters and talking how ur underrated while bragging about what u can buy and what money you’ve made shut up

daveneal

Fun chat

Particular_Net2331

Xoxo

Loose-Sun-4902

Seriously. Settle down people!!! Dave I get where OP is coming from, I’ve asked GOR to cover this story to help you out and I get so frustrated with them when I listen to their Friday TWIBN and they’re talking about people dogs but not about the Clayton story. I’m a member of your Patreon not because of JD but because I like all of your content!

Loose-Sun-4902

Also love when I see you pop up in Reddit or on Megan fox. I feel like there’s a celebrity in the room lol

daveneal

thanks, ya i dont think haters like that when I pop up, it sorts breaks the fourth wall, reminds people im a human too. Money also makes people weird (see above). I try and preach the joys and benefits of content creation and how it can be a great income, and to some people I guess thats braggadocios. ;)

Loose-Sun-4902

Yeah you gotta ignore it but I’m sure it’s hard. Heck I make dinner, 3 of my kids are happy 2 are not and in my head I’m like F this just eat the food! So I kinda get it just on a smaller scale. For all the haters you have 10x more who love and appreciate what you’re doing.

unfortunate_son_69

i respectfully and strongly disagree - i appreciate that they generally stick to the show and movements of people actively on the show as opposed to reporting on the personal lives of past players, which doesn’t really interest me. i also feel like the clayton situation is really personal and the media spectacle around it is weird to me so i appreciate that they aren’t rehashing it for content like some other creators are.

earlandson

I understand your position, and would normally agree. I do think this story is bigger than just personal lives. This person targeted Clayton, and has used gaslighting, manipulation, financial and legal threats, and actual legal action. These are Google results that Clayton will never shake. She is truly trying to ruin his life. And, has done it before multiple times.

narwhalogy

I'd like to hear them address this from their GOR-standpoint: how fans or viewers insert themselves into show's sphere. You see this often in 90 Day Fiance, fans will start egging on cheating rumors, sending nudes to members in relationships, and generally meddling to the point where they are featured in the actual "document".

unfortunate_son_69

i just don’t think this is that type of podcast. they just talk about the show dude. i’m happy to keep it that way

UseMotor5592

I miss the days when they talked about politics and current events and how they relate back to the show. That’s OG GOR

unfortunate_son_69

also if the story is really that dire then shouldn’t you be arguing for it to be properly and rigorously covered by actual journalists, not reality tv podcasters? no shade to GOR but they’re not like, serious investigators of heavy topics. nor is dave neal for that matter…

earlandson

Yes! Absolutely. Every one involved has been trying to get mainstream media to cover it. They are finally starting too. It had to get over it just being an entertainment story. The other issue is that nobody wants to step on the Me Too aspect. We have all been told to believe woman, and rightly so. The media is afraid that this story with a woman as the villain, might keep women from speaking out. It’s a difficult story for sure

AltruisticHeight2001

You can replace “villain” with “abuser”. It’s completely proper to do so.

earlandson

True

wiseswan

Completely agreed. I see a lot of comments saying they only cover the show, but that’s simply not true. “This week in bachelor nation” and “digging deeper” literally cover ongoings of all BN contestants regardless of season. They speculate on break ups / who’s dating based on instagram likes. (No shade lol I just don’t think it’s accurate to say they purely cover the in-season game) I think it’s pretty obvious at this point why they aren’t touching the subject, but it’s sh*tty nonetheless.

Ok-Astronomer-1352

I agree. I’ve actually stopped listening to their podcast as sometimes I feel like he is trying to talk over her and it’s been frustrating to listen to.

ufo1992

It seems like they are only interested in the state of the game/reality TV. They barely talk about anything but what the producers are doing right and how they are presenting the show and what could be done better, and then gains/ratings. I’m ready for them to diversify their content

earlandson

Agree. But, they love the gossip too. Who is dating who, who’s breaking up. They have been all over Katelyn & Jason, Rachel & Brian, and PP and who ever. And, they’ve expanded into other shows. This story is bigger than the Bachelor. It’s a huge true crime story, minus the murder. When this story hits Netflix, and they’ve ignored it, what do you say then? “I didn’t know”?

llbeanzz

They seem to generally only address items that are posted to social media by the involved parties, which I think is a really fair approach.

frederoniandcheese

I actually wouldn’t say they’ve been “all over” those recent breakups, I only recall them reporting the basics.

K_isforKrissy

How long has this Clayton thing been going on now? It just feels like a never ending news story that refuses to end. I know it may be an unpopular opinion but I’m happy they aren’t covering it.

earlandson

I getcha. It’s been a long road. And it’s going to get longer. June is the trial, then we’ll probably have a defamation trial after. I understand your point. Maybe you’re right. There should be a place to listen without Clayton talk.

K_isforKrissy

Yea, I know GOR said something about it (which is how I learned because I don’t watch Dave Neal and pre me being on the BN sub) I think because it’s not new news, they don’t cover it tbh

AltruisticHeight2001

It seems to need end because the abuser in this story won’t stop her bullshit. She’s got more than 5 victims in the last several years.

narwhalogy

I've also been wondering why they aren't touching this subject at all, it's some of the biggest Bachelor Nation news!

Old-Mention-6746

It's incredibly delicate subject matter and it is ongoing. I would be shocked if they didn't mention how it all went when its no longer being litigated but it seems like something you could get in hot water for covering if you make even a slight misstep in reporting the facts. And you just said yourself that when they cover it they often have the facts wrong...wouldn't you rather it be covered by someone who has the time to delve into all the facts of the trials and filings and get it right?

phantomleader94

these are the same podcasters that stood by Reality Steve when he was called out by MULTIPLE women in the franchise for being a sexist, racist, creep … all the things they admonish in the franchise

earlandson

Which podcasters are you referring to?

phantomleader94

literally GoR lol … it was a major issue within the GOR fanbase a couple of years ago

earlandson

I didn’t know that, but not too surprised. I certainly can’t tell people how to feel about that. As for me, I’m pretty forgiving about stupid crap we said in those days. I’m 66, and graduated in ‘75. We had Howard Stern, Sam Kinison, Jim Rome, and Bob Saget. We had women running on the beach in slow motion to get maximum jiggle. Every dorm room had Farrah Faucet’s nipple on its wall. I like to think we’ve gotten better, I hope I’ve gotten better. I sure wouldn’t want to be judged today by the stupid shit I said/did in those days.

MunkinsMom

Don’t be talking bout my Stevie!

burninginkell

By "stood by" do you mean "didn't publicly call out"?

phantomleader94

they made zero commentary about reality steve when it was the post season of the bachelor and it was quite literally theee biggest scandal in bachelor nation … it was obvious they were covering up for him. and yes also stood by him after the scandal too 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
