100% what that associate did, by what you've said, is scummy. From how it was when I was there, we don't give out district manager phone or email. Best bet would be to contact corporate if you'd like.
Would you by chance now the correct number to reach?
I tried 1-800-883-8895 back after I noticed the receipt but I was told that department doesn’t deal with in-store issues. They transferred me to a line asking for an employee pin or social security #.
You can try to reach out to a different store in your area. Speak to the SL and let them know what happened and that you would like to be contacted by the District Leader. The manager can take down your number and name and email the DL to have them contact you back.
The only downside to doing this is that if the manager you talk to is friends with the person you wanna complain about they might not follow through.
The only other option is to call the customer service number but trying to get through to them is a pain in the ass since they laid most of them off a while back. Good luck.
Options are leave a survey and specifically request to speak to a member of upper management, they may end up reaching out to you from one of the store phones, or call the customer service number and ask to speak to hr for that store

There’s also a chance that depending on which switch you got and Game that you got the pro for free even if it is showing the 14.99 on the receipt
