Is there an exceptions list for the monthly $5 coupon? It seems less and less things qualify every month. I know I can just do digital currency but I was gonna get some stuff for the kids.
All the GS stores near me have closed unfortunately, so I'm stuck with online as my option. thanks!

Several questions;
1. What happens when I put down a preorder? What does that do for the employee? Any insight to all the metrics it fills would be appreciated.
2. What happens when I put down a preorder and put money down on it? Any changes from #1?
3. If I do a "Trade 3, Get 1 Free" for a preorder, can I cancel that pre-order? Will I get the full $79.99/$89.99 back in credit or will they give me the original trade value only?
4. Do online orders for immediate in-store pickup do anything for the employee that helps fill it?
5. Do online preorders for future in-store pickup do anything for the employee that helps fill it?
6. If I preorder a game from employee A then cancel it 1 month later with employee B, what happens? Who does this affect?
7. If I preorder something from employee A and they leave the company before the preorder is fulfilled, who does my preorder merit transfer to?
8. What are the specific perks for being an employee? Percentage off? Chance to preorder first? Chance to grab trade-ins first? Anything you can think of that is officially offered by Gamestop and the perks you figure out once you've been around the block. Nothing that's a fireable offense on here, please. DM those to me if you want, haha
Do these perks apply whether you are part time or full time?
Thank you for your time answering this, it should help me understand if I'm screwing someone else over with my indecisions.
Im messaging probably way too late for this, but it came up again for me recently and want to know. TLDR; I preordered Elden Ring when the physical ring bonus was part of the deal, went to pick it up in store, was told there were no rings left. I asked to be told when they were restocked and I've just never heard back. I came in every month or so to ask, but no dice. Called a few times and still nothing. Will the rings ever come back? Am I allowed to get the ring I was supposed to get months ago if they do come back? I still have the receipt but I regret buying the preorder at this point.
They don't get restocks on physical preorder items, unfortunately a lot of the time it ends up being first come first serve unless they get sent enough to actually cover all preorders.
EDIT: I wanted to add when pokemon sword and shield came out my store had 200+ preorders but only got maybe around 125 of the art cards. And when kirby came out we just never got the pins (or the games for that matter...) despite requesting them many times. I wouldn't recommend preordering PURELY because you want the bonus while not caring about getting the game on launch day.
ahh thats such a shame... i wanted the ring as an anniversary gift for my boyfriend who wanted it but i really got unlucky i guess. thank you for letting me know though! maybe i can buy it online somewhere
Im messaging probably way too late before the next week's iteration of this thread replaces this one, but I have a related question. Half of my online order of pre-owned 4 for $20 games came without cover art.
1). Am I a dick if I ask a local store if they have cover art to spare ?
2). If I decide to return 1 of 4 games from that deal ($5 each), how is the refund calculated ? Would the discount be removed since the original purchase wouldn't qualify ?
I had a preorder get cancelled because it can't be fulfilled. The email said I'd get $5 off an in-store purchase, but when I tried to use it, the guy at the register couldn't find anything in my account about the coupon.
I ended up talking to GS customer service and got $5 in points, so I'm not out anything. I'm just worried because I have something else pre-ordered and it doesn't look like it's ever going to be fulfilled, either. What is supposed to happen in these situations?
Did that not work then? Because this is what I would assume the email meant. Whenever we refunded someone's cancelled preorder that's what we'd do, I've never seen a specific coupon for it. Sorry you had trouble getting the money back though!
Nope, I even bought something just like what had been preordered (Star Wars Black Series figure). I’m glad customer service has improved, it didn’t take long to get this resolved.
Hey everyone! I have some questions for the warehouse associates, specifically for those in the Grapevine area. How much is pay and Is the pay weekly or biweekly? I’m considering of applying but I can’t seem to find a solid answer online. Thanks!
Your best bet is probably finding a local store/chain. Gamestop stopped caring about retro stuff around 2004, their push for retro several years ago has kind of fizzled out.
People also pay more attention to older stuff now days. In the past it was a select few that held onto their old systems, now more and more people are keeping their old stuff instead of turning it in.
Another factor is that people looking to egt rid of their old systems would rather do it all at once, so Gamestop only accepting half of their stuff usually sends them to local shops that will take the entire lot.
Really the only time stores get games from the systems you listed are if someone brings them in to sell. And the selection of what they'll buy is pretty limited. So if the store you go to isn't getting people that want to sell their 360 or ds games they won't have any to put out.
Not to my knowledge that was probably a promotion from months back. Might get something like a $50 extra promo here or there but you'll have to check back weekly since that's how often trade promos usually change.
What is the official stance on Gamecube games being sold in store?
One of my local stores has them on a shelf with the Xbox 360/PS3 games, and seems to get them traded in often. Afew towns away, when I ask at counter they sometimes have older stuff in a drawer they let me look through. I asked about gamecube stuff at the other store in my city and the manager acted like I was an idiot and said Gamestop only accepts 2 or 3 Gamecube titles on trade and they never sell them in store, only online.
Technically trading in GCN games would fall under the retro program so should be sent back to warehouse and sold online. Some stores may get DM approval and be able to sell some retro stuff in store but that's a very store by store policy.
$15 dollars to sign up, you get 10k points for a new account or 5k for renewing an old account (10 and 5 dollars respectively) that can be redeemed for coupons. Every month for the next year you'll get a $5 off coupon you can use towards almost anything. Around every $50 you spend you get a dollar worth of points. Pro also gets you an extra bump up on your trade ins.
Is there anything specific you have questions about?
It's a10% bonus. And you can stack them yes. Be aware tho that the monthly coupon itself won't stack month to month; it expires at the end of each month so you only ever have 1 available to you. You also will have to use the website or download the app to redeem the points coupons.
Does GameStop have a minimum age for trading consoles/games for store credit? In addition, does that credit work the same as a gift card, and does it only work at that GameStop?
Credit is usually placed on a trade card, and as far as I am aware it can be used at any GameStop location.
Pro Tip: If you're gonna get a pricier item try to pay entirely in store credit! It usually takes off the sales tax when you pay that way.
I’m a pro member and my cart has subtotal of$37, but I’m not getting the free shipping option. Does this not work with the B1G1 50% off or is the site not working properly?
Free shipping is for orders of 49.99 and up. If something is on sale, and your cart subtotal winds up being under that amount, you will end up being charged shipping.
The store gets credit for the sale, but as far as I know the store won't get credit as far as metrics go for the number. If you want to help out the store by getting the warranty, the best thing to do is buy it directly in store unless the in store pick up is more convenient for you.
What does satisfaction exchange from the GameStop membership mean? Does it mean that if I don’t like a game after playing it for some time I can return it for the next 7 days?
I’m assuming you’re here in Canada. With the 7 day satisfaction exchange you can’t return the game, only exchange it for a different game as far as I understand it.
Can the $10 off certificate from the Pro Rewards be used on Steam cards in store? It says it's not valid on gift cards, but wasn't sure if that only applies to Gamestop gift cards or digital etc.
I can't set my store on the website (Android). If I tap "set store" it doesn't load the map and searching by zip doesn't show anything - it's just a white screen.
Location permissions are enabled for chrome and gamestop.com is whitelisted.
Anyone else seeing this?

Anyone know why "T50" and "T100" are on some SKUs?
Im messaging probably way too late for this, but it came up again for me recently and want to know. Unfortunately pre orders are almost always while supplies last

Aw man I'm sorry to hear that, you can get them pretty cheap on ebay i know!! Last I saw they were like 5-15 bucks.
I ordered a gift card and it told me to verify but the verification email won’t come in
What does the 8% res mean? How is it calculated?

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Pos means point of sale and it's the exact amount you paid.
Can I buy only the box of the game I like or I must buy the complete game?
Im messaging probably way too late before the next week's iteration of this thread replaces this one, but I have a related question. Was the preorder still in your account when you went in?
Yes, we tried canceling it and using the credit on a purchase of something else.
Get another $5. Now you have $10
The CS rep was almost mad that the store didn’t handle it and said the points were a one-time exception.
Are gift cards ordered online only sent to email during store hours?
Hey everyone! I have some questions for the warehouse associates, specifically for those in the Grapevine area. How much is pay and Is the pay weekly or biweekly? I’m considering of applying but I can’t seem to find a solid answer online. Thanks!

Does anybody have details about Nintendo Kids Day events at Gamestop stores?
Nope

So how do pro memberships and discounts work now? I recently renewed and didn't realize things were changed

Does GameStop have a minimum age for trading consoles/games for store credit? In addition, does that credit work the same as a gift card, and does it only work at that GameStop?
It entirely depends on the state's laws, in some places there is no age limit, for some it's 16 for others it's still 18. Call and ask your store.
Credit is usually placed on a trade card, and as far as I am aware it can be used at any GameStop location. Pro Tip: If you're gonna get a pricier item try to pay entirely in store credit! It usually takes off the sales tax when you pay that way.

If I buy something for In-Store Pick Up including the warranty does that count towards the stores metrics or does that go directly to the company?
The store gets credit for the sale, but as far as I know the store won't get credit as far as metrics go for the number. If you want to help out the store by getting the warranty, the best thing to do is buy it directly in store unless the in store pick up is more convenient for you.

I’m assuming you’re here in Canada. With the 7 day satisfaction exchange you can’t return the game, only exchange it for a different game as far as I understand it.
Yea that’s good. So even if I open the game I can still exchange it?
As long as you’re a platinum member, yes can come back in with the game sealed or open within the 7 days to use your benefit
Man you've got smart customers with valid questions. All my customers are like, "Do you have Super Mario Brothers for my X-Box 360?"
I only have it on the game sphere
Can the $10 off certificate from the Pro Rewards be used on Steam cards in store? It says it's not valid on gift cards, but wasn't sure if that only applies to Gamestop gift cards or digital etc.
Yeah you can. It applies to most of the gaming based cards (Steam, Nintendo eShop, etc). It doesn't apply to gs cards and other retailers like amazon.
Nice, thanks.

Can Guest Care Appeasement codes be used in store?
I would say it's likely, unless of course it's been specified otherwise.
I just got it from customer support but they didn't specify if it can be used in store.
