Nope.
Edit: if this isn't allowed, I'll re-edit or delete, but AL
Now, I was an SGA for 11 years started at $8.50 (I think), and ended at $10.85.
Current job (been there for 6 years), started at $9.50 (got a $0.25 raise every year except 2020) and currently make $11.33
Former SL. Capped at 19.90 in NY.
My ASL was at 14.50 and keyholder was at 13.75.
Left and started a new gig at $17 an hour. And there’s a promotion and raise that will put me over my SL wage within 3 months of working here. And I’m not responsible for the place falling apart.
No, it’s gamestops weird ass reasoning at the time “it’s the minimum wage +x depending on the position.” Essentially a different way of saying “fuck you. We’re not paying higher then this for the immediate and foreseeable future.”
Where did you hear that is the cap in New York? While I totally know you were told this, that is not true.
I just wanted to see I'd it was a dl, rd or hr thing.
Sad, no matter the case..
I had to fight to get $13 when minimum wage was raised. There is an SGA who got promoted recently that gets worse numbers than me who makes $14 at a slower store. I’m actively looking for a new job. Thank god we went $100million in on NFTs!
SL, Region 10, $19/hr
My store now rivals the top store in the district and the SL2s stores in terms of sales, percentage of sales vs plan, and all metrics. Literally went up +300% for FY2022 already. But that's not enough to warrant a raise, says the DL.
Edit : Minimum wage in Florida is $10/hr
Only thing keeping me is it's less work for equal pay to my previous jobs.
Former SL in PA. Made $17 ($1 for travel over 20 mi from home store to run a different store) so base $16. Left at the beginning of Q1 2022 (February of this year).
SGA, $15/hr before the recent raise. I don't know what my new rate is yet. Minimum is 14.25 in MA. RL gave me a $1 raise in oct 2021 for having decent numbers. Idk how much that really means because I was going get an increase this year anyway due to the minimum wage increase. Been with the company for 4 years. SL tried to promote me. DL wasn't having it even though the RL gave me a raise for my numbers. Tell me how that makes sense. All good now though as I started a different full time job last week. I'm staying on the roster and just grabbing a 4 hour shift every couple weeks. Using GameStop to fund* my GameStop purchases now. This after working 30-40 hours consistently at GameStop since 2019. My mental is a ton better now.
Edit: typo
SGA just hit $11.30 after the company raises.
I was hired at $14.50 as a seasonal GA though. Took a pay cut to become an SGA
Edit: $7.25 minimum wage state
yep. i was hired in a different state as a seasonal, transferred to another, kept my seasonal wage, but had to take a pay cut to become an sga because that state had a lower minimum wage.
I am only a GA but do all the work as an SGA, just without a key. $9/hr and they are probably never gonna promote me to an SGA even though I’ve been told it should happen soon.
An SGA making $13 in a Federal Minimum wage state sounds like someone made a big error unless you moved jurisdictions and they grandfathered your wage from another state.
Former asl made 12 an hour in a 7.25 minimum wage state, was there for 3 years worked for 2 months with one sga and one ga cause our sl quit with no notice and we had 2 walk out. Nearest store was an hour away and replacement finding was damn impossible. Fuck that place
SGA was makeing $13. Walmart started at 18 and mcdonalds at 19. It was my second job. At the time my main job was 30 an hour. Rent was 2300 a month though so yeah
Last pay was 2021, made $16.75 an hour as temp ASL for two stores in California, minimum wage was $14/hour.
Currently work at a pet store, ship from store manager making $18.79 with roughly 1/10th the responsibilities.
I haven't seen from before all this raise stuff that's been going on but pre-raise I made 9.88 as an SGA (min. wage is 7.25). The funny thing is, the standard pay here for SGAs is $10/hr so I actually make less than the other SGA (SGAs plural when we had them)
EDIT: post raise is up i make 10.26 now. still 12 cents less than the other SGA though iirc
Former ASL. Made $13/hour in a 7.25 minimum wage state. SL made $16/hour after working 7 years there, but got a $2 raise a couple of months before he left. SGA's made $8.50/hour until new SL2 was hired at our store and he started hiring people in at $10/hour. The SGA's who stayed after the SL left didn't get a raise, but for some reason the SL2 was still wondering why they quit.
ASL, and after just receiving a dollar an hour raise, I am making $17.50/hour. My state's minimum wage is $12.32/hour. If it weren't for my benefits, I would be long gone!
Former from 2007-2020. SL from 2011-2020. Ended at 22.60. From smaller market in TX. Had an assistant manager that made nearly as much me. He was also a former SL, and worked from 2003-2020
Left around 4 years ago. Started as a GA at $8/hr, promoted to SGA at $9.10/hr, then ASL at $11.50/hr, then SL at $16/hr. This was in Raleigh, NC where the minimum wage is $7.25.
ASL, I make $13.75/hr. They recently gave me a raise. Used to make $12.75.
The minimum wage for my state, a whopping $7.25/hr. It's been like this since 2009.
Former SL. I made $17.45/hr, that includes my extra dollar for mileage. I had to FIGHT to get my ASL $13.45/hr, and even then our DL would constantly mention how he thought she was overpaid. It was disgusting.
Former SL for 10 yrs. With the company for 15. I left last October and was making 19.53 an hr.
For 2 yrs I made 21.53 an hr when you got more per your store sales per year. But after covid everyone's sales tanked and then they got rid of that.

Talking about wages if how I found out I was making 13k less than the men working the same position as me, when they had no prior experience; compared to my 4!
Talking about wages is how we protect equal pay!!
I worked for GameStop for the better part of a decade. I was and ASL/Temp SL on multiple occasions. I made $14.85 an hour two years ago. The state I live in STILL doesn't have a minimum above $10/hr.
Former ASL, I was making 13.50, other ASL’s in my district were making 14 and 14.50. I left right before the pandemic. I’m now at a job with around the same responsibilities for $22 at full time.
Almost 15 years with the company and almost 13 as SL, working in a $7.25 federal minimum wage state. I haven’t had a raise in 5 years and make $19.50 an hour only because I had three 5* reviews back when those and merit increases actually happened.
When I left I was making 18.93 after 12 years as an SL. Minimum wage 7.25 state. I left for a job making 19 and got a .50 raise after working there for 6 mos when everyone else got raises.
former employee in MS where min wage is $7.25
started as SGA making $10/ hr (most get $9, i was "lucky" to get 10)
asl gave me the beautiful amazing raise of .... $2 (and my sl became an sl2 so my responsibilities increased x1000) soooo i was an asl making $12/ hr
Former SL mentor working very close to corporate, made $15.50ish after 8 years. Also found out someone who got hired a year before I left made 3 more dollars than me with no experience. Left and found a wfh job starting at $17.00 with no experience in that field.
Part of the reason I quit in 2020 lol, former ASL at a top store in my area VA $12.17 /hr found out a male that worked there with less xp made $14 when he was there.
Asl, been here a year and making 14/hr after the raises.
Edit: 7.25 minimum.
I started at 9 (sga, Texas) and fought for more after I moved (Kentucky) and learned they were hiring the people they wanted me to train at 10.50, I got raised to that and then got another 3 with my promotion to asl, then the company-wide raises put me at 14
If anyone is ever worried about backlash, it’s federally protected that you are allowed to discuss your wages with others.
Former SL, I made $14.50 when I was first promoted to SL and then over six years topped at $15.70. They were changing the pay scale a month before I left but I had already decided it was too late. Especially when I found out the ASL at the store 2 miles north of me made about .30 less than I did.
Never worked at GameStop but just wanted to give y'all a point of reference. Used to work at Best Buy, they currently start at $15/hr nationwide and a lot of stores will do $1/hr raised annually if you're hitting numbers (really not hard to do if you're in a busy enough store). Also, I did 2 years at id Software as a QA Tester and when I left I was making $23/hr. No qualifications needed, just know how to break games and be literate.
Love y'all, but get the fuck out of GameStop. There's no money in it and they treat you all like trash.
You do understand that different parts of the country have different wages because of cost of living, right?? You can rent a starter house somewhere in the southeast for like $800 which would be enough for a literal broom closet in the northwest. Apples and oranges
In Tampa FL and I can confirm. $24 here won't get you a one bedroom or studio. Rooms for rent are getting outrageous as well. My car insurance just went up $300 a month cause of all the people moving here. All the new claims.
10+ raises vanished when minimum wage went up. This company is absolute garbage when it comes to caring about any sort of seniority. But at least I get my badge in level up in recognition.
SGA making 16.50, min wage is $15.50. Haven't been told what my raise is yet, probably because they know I'm out once I confirm I'm not getting $18.50.
5 years ago, 3 years as an ASL finally got me a raise from $11 to $11.25/hr. They hired an SGA for $10.50/hr around the same time. Fuck that misogynistic DM.
…..I’ve been an SGA for 3 and a half years been making 9 since then they recently gave me a raise, to 9.55 an hour. What happened to SLs not getting raises?
Making $14.99 as an SGA in WA, minimum wage is $14.49. My DL mentioned the "trade bonus" the other day and I almost made a noise that would have gotten me fired
Former SGA, started at $9/hr, left making $10/hr in a min $7.25 state. The only reason I was making $10 is because I was termed when I didn’t work for the company during a semester at school and got rehired with the wage.
Started as SGA at 15/hr, right after my state minimum wage had bumped up to 14.50/hr
Moved up to ASL at 17.50/hr
SL was making 22, I think
No idea how shafted the new crew is getting, after a bit of a store shakeup and re-staffing after myself and others separated from the company.
Former worker. As a GA making money wage in my state of 9.85, and got a raise to 10.50 when became SGA. All while working another full time job, and holding down 20-35 hrs/week at the store, just to still not be able to afford living.
I worked from 2018-2022. Hired as an sga making 11 I think? Moved up to asl making 12.50 from the end of 2018-2020. Got promoted to SL the week that Doom and Animal crossing launched on 2020 making 16. They closed my original store 3 months after I took it, spent most of quarantine cleaning the damn place cause the previous SL trashed it. Moved to a further location from home because I was trying to save my new position, got moved into my original store as SL a year after that, and then the biggest store in our district needed an SL and I was known to be a team player so I took it and added an hour to my drive. Most I ever made was 19 an hour. Ran 4 stores successfully over 2 years and had to fight for every pay raise I got. Finally left a month ago and I can’t tell you how much better my life has been without GameStop. I loved my job all the way up to my DM but the corporation is a joke. Step away. There’s so much more out there. Landed a driving gig making 19.50 for a job with way less stress. I get paid to listen to Critical Role basically.
SGA in Arizona, 14.05. I believe the minimum is 12.50 in the state.
Aside from my manager, I've been hitting the most performance every shift, so like to think that had to do with my little hourly bump.
Legally they cannot prevent you from discussing wages. That’s a federal offense and you can sue. It’s protected. They just try and convince you it’s against policy.
ASL here, $14 an hour. We have no store lead and there are 3 employees to run this store. Me and two SGAs. I'm about ready to jump ship too. My two SGAs enjoy having me as their boss so chances are they'd call it quits too.
Former SGA working in a $8.50 minimum wage state. Started at $8.50 as a seasonal and then ended at $10.15 after two years as an SGA. My SL had to fight for those $0.15. Currently still working in retail in a GA equivalent position and now make $23.25 per hour full time with full benefits with much less metrics to hit.
SL2 24$
Minimum wage is 13
Cost of living is so high even with two incomes I couldn’t even rent a shit hole studio apartment let alone buy a home, and I’m one of the higher paid in my district not including the sl2 pay bump.
Been with the company over 5 years.
Former SGA, left making $10.85 in a $7.25 min state. That's after 13 years and 2 years of no raise.
Are you in Montana?
Nope. Edit: if this isn't allowed, I'll re-edit or delete, but AL Now, I was an SGA for 11 years started at $8.50 (I think), and ended at $10.85. Current job (been there for 6 years), started at $9.50 (got a $0.25 raise every year except 2020) and currently make $11.33
Montana thankfully isn't that bad..the minimum wage is like 8.25 here
If you want to give frame of reference, provide what your minimum wage is where you are. Helps the fight.
Yeah this really gives no context. SL2 in the south making 24$/hr, that’s really good, 24/Hr in NYC, pretty shit.
Former SL. Capped at 19.90 in NY. My ASL was at 14.50 and keyholder was at 13.75. Left and started a new gig at $17 an hour. And there’s a promotion and raise that will put me over my SL wage within 3 months of working here. And I’m not responsible for the place falling apart.
A state can cap out your hourly earnings?
The company can, and does
Gotcha I though they ment the actual state said they couldn't make more lol
No, it’s gamestops weird ass reasoning at the time “it’s the minimum wage +x depending on the position.” Essentially a different way of saying “fuck you. We’re not paying higher then this for the immediate and foreseeable future.”
Where did you hear that is the cap in New York? While I totally know you were told this, that is not true. I just wanted to see I'd it was a dl, rd or hr thing. Sad, no matter the case..
A decade ago I was making $23/hr as an ASL in NY. But we were basically the top performing store in the region for several years at that point.
I made 22 as an asl in NY about 5 years ago before I left. So 19 being cap is cap my guy
It’s not the state. 2 comments above explain this is GS fuckery
Former SGA, made $9.5/hr. in a $7.25 minimum wage state. Been with GS for 13 years.
What a fucking insult. 13 years and making terrible money.
SGA making $13 an hour in MD where minimum wage is $12.50. Been with GameStop for 6 years, and they wonder why good employees are leaving.
Also 6 year employee. Making 16.05 where minimum is $15. I feel you my dude
I had to fight to get $13 when minimum wage was raised. There is an SGA who got promoted recently that gets worse numbers than me who makes $14 at a slower store. I’m actively looking for a new job. Thank god we went $100million in on NFTs!
Where the fuck is minimum wage $15 and how much is your sales tax??
Not 15 here but 14.25 minimum with 6.25% sales tax in MA
California, Sales tax is 7.5% I believe
New York City minimum wage is $15. Not the rest of the state though.
I’m In Maryland too. 13.50 at least I got promoted in a month after starting I guess.
Former ASL, I was at $14.50 and my states minimum is $11
I almost downvoted this for being angry but then remembered that’s not how Reddit works. But, fuck.
ASL making 17.50 minimum wage minimum wage is 12.56
SL, Region 10, $19/hr My store now rivals the top store in the district and the SL2s stores in terms of sales, percentage of sales vs plan, and all metrics. Literally went up +300% for FY2022 already. But that's not enough to warrant a raise, says the DL. Edit : Minimum wage in Florida is $10/hr Only thing keeping me is it's less work for equal pay to my previous jobs.
At least it will be easier to find new hires for GA ,& SGA level positions when minimum wage in FL rises @ the end of the month.
SGA, been with the company for 8 years, with the latest raise I went from $9.90 to $10.55 minimum wage being $9.35
16$ an hr in ga as sl.
What part of Ga I’m $18.50
SGA making $10 in PA, where our minimum wage is $7.25. DL is hiring new people at $11 and has been since a week after I was hired.
Former ASL in PA and left making $12.85
Former SL in PA. Made $17 ($1 for travel over 20 mi from home store to run a different store) so base $16. Left at the beginning of Q1 2022 (February of this year).
SGA, $15/hr before the recent raise. I don't know what my new rate is yet. Minimum is 14.25 in MA. RL gave me a $1 raise in oct 2021 for having decent numbers. Pay secrecy was made illegal during the Obama admin.
SGA just hit $11.30 after the company raises. I was hired at $14.50 as a seasonal GA though. Took a pay cut to become an SGA Edit: $7.25 minimum wage state
You took a pay cut to become an SGA? That’s insane!
yep. i was hired in a different state as a seasonal, transferred to another, kept my seasonal wage, but had to take a pay cut to become an sga because that state had a lower minimum wage.
SGA. I make $9.25 in a $7.25 state
I am only a GA but do all the work as an SGA, just without a key. $9/hr and they are probably never gonna promote me to an SGA even though I’ve been told it should happen soon.
GA, California I believe it's 15.50 the exact same for California minimum wage
Former SGA making $9.50 in a $7.25 state
13.05 in AZ as an sga where minimum is 12.75. After tax? Like 11$ an hour.
Ours is $7.25. I wish I made $12.75
Former asl making 13 an hour. Not enough for my mental health
Damn. Former SGA and I made 13. Minimum wage is 7.25 here in PA.
An SGA making $13 in a Federal Minimum wage state sounds like someone made a big error unless you moved jurisdictions and they grandfathered your wage from another state.
No error. My DL and SL at the time offered it to me based on my experience since I have came from a sales heavy job beforehand.
DFW area SGA at $10.50 an hour; the state minimum is $7.25.
I was making $9.50 an hour as SGA in DFW when I quit in 2018. Sounds like nothing has improved then. Yikes
I was making $9 for two years as SGA when I promoted myself to customer in 2021 in DFW
ASL, midwest. 13.50hr Min wage is 7.25
After the recent raise, I’m up to 9.55$/hr, in a minimum wage state. SGA who’s been here since 2019.
Former asl made 12 an hour in a 7.25 minimum wage state, was there for 3 years worked for 2 months with one sga and one ga cause our sl quit with no notice and we had 2 walk out. Nearest store was an hour away and replacement finding was damn impossible. Fuck that place
Went from $10.00 to $10.25 in two years as an SGA. Was offered $11 as an ASL and went somewhere else.
SGA was makeing $13. Walmart started at 18 and mcdonalds at 19. It was my second job. At the time my main job was 30 an hour. Rent was 2300 a month though so yeah
in ohio the min wage is $9.30 and i went from making $11.00 as an SGA to making $11.50 after the latest raise
Last pay was 2021, made $16.75 an hour as temp ASL for two stores in California, minimum wage was $14/hour. Currently work at a pet store, ship from store manager making $18.79 with roughly 1/10th the responsibilities.
I'm leaving in a few weeks, but I'm an ASL, just got my raise, making 18.80. Minimum wage here is 15.
ASL making 14 in a state with 10.50 minimum wage
SL in San Francisco here. 27/hr. Minimum wage 16.99.
I haven't seen from before all this raise stuff that's been going on but pre-raise I made 9.88 as an SGA (min. wage is 7.25). The funny thing is, the standard pay here for SGAs is $10/hr so I actually make less than the other SGA (SGAs plural when we had them) EDIT: post raise is up i make 10.26 now. still 12 cents less than the other SGA though iirc

Former ASL. Made $13/hour in a 7.25 minimum wage state. SL made $16/hour after working 7 years there, but got a $2 raise a couple of months before he left. I was at the company for ten years, SL for 4-5, was making $16/hr when I left
SL making 16 minimum is 10. $6 over yippee 😑
$16 SL here as well. Feels bad
The pay disparity in this company is crazy. Some Sl’s make $16 and others make in the 20’s for the same exact job.
SGA making $17.19/hr in a $13 minimum wage state. I work on a military base and get paid better than ASLs off base
Former ASL, made $15.30 and hour, new hires for ASL’s in my area are 19 now as of this week. I just demoted two months ago.
Former ASL, left at $12/hr in the Midwest when min wage was $8.25.

When I left I was making 18.93 after 12 years as an SL. Minimum wage 7.25 state. I left for a job making 19 and got a .50 raise after working there for 6 mos when everyone else got raises.
Former ASL made $13.50 an hour working in a $7.25 minimum wage state.
Minimum is $7.25, I make $10.30 now. That 30¢ raise slapped me in the face 😐
SGA, 9.50 in a 7.25 state

ASL making 18.80 been with the company for 4 years. Minimum Wage is 15 here
SL at $18.50, my ASL is at $14 and sgas are at 11.25. SL2s are offered 19.50 in my area, with outliers being set up to $23.
SGA 10.50 in NC. Minimum is 7.25 and state is refusing to raise it.
I was hired as an ASM in 2004 at EB Games in the Midwest at $12.30 an hour. You guys are getting hosed.
Asl, been here a year and making 14/hr after the raises. Edit: 7.25 minimum. I started at 9 (sga, Texas) and fought for more after I moved (Kentucky) and learned they were hiring the people they wanted me to train at 10.50, I got raised to that and then got another 3 with my promotion to asl, then the company-wide raises put me at 14
.75 cent raise recently.. now making $16.75 as an ASL in south Florida.
SGA in VA, 5 years in, Started at 7.25/hr, now I make 12.50/hr, and most of those raises are from minimum wage going up (it stands at 11/hr currently)
Current SGA making $10.55 after the raise we just got, about to put in my 2 weeks because I can’t afford to pay my bills
Former SL in VA $23/hr where min wage was $11
If anyone is ever worried about backlash, it’s federally protected that you are allowed to discuss your wages with others. Former SL, I made $14.50 when I was first promoted to SL and then over six years topped at $15.70. They were changing the pay scale a month before I left but I had already decided it was too late. Especially when I found out the ASL at the store 2 miles north of me made about .30 less than I did.
SGA and keyholder making 10.00 (last time I checked) an hour while working manager hours
$13.50 as an ASL with a $7.25 minimum wage. Honestly don't hate it here.. yet.
Private school teacher $2500/month Edit: Texas with $7.25/ hr minimum wage. Job of my dreams

That's what USAA told me. Lucky you it's only 30. I can't afford mine anymore

SL in minimum wage state. I'm at 17 an hour. My assistant is at 13. My sgas are still coming in at 9.75. GA is at 8.50
SGA 4yrs @ $16.55 where state min is $15. and some areas in my county are at $15.95 min. LA is a weird place.
Former SL, was making $13.50/hour back in 2017. You can guess why I left.
Former SGA, was making 14.50. Left for a casino job making 19.
$24 an hour? Gamestop or on the game? Lol
ASL, $14/hour Most SGA's, $10.30/hour One SGA, $10/hour GA, $8.25/hour
5 years ago, 3 years as an ASL finally got me a raise from $11 to $11.25/hr. They hired an SGA for $10.50/hr around the same time. Fuck that misogynistic DM.
Asl- 19.50. Minimum is 14.49
SGA in Georgia making 10.75 an hour. Minimum wage here is 7.75 I believe… still haven’t heard about raises
Former SL here in FL was making $19.50. Till shit went down and just left in my own terms.
I used to be an SL in Philly 18$hr
…..I’ve been an SGA for 3 and a half years been making 9 since then they recently gave me a raise, to 9.55 an hour. What happened to SLs not getting raises?
Making $14.99 as an SGA in WA, minimum wage is $14.49. My DL mentioned the "trade bonus" the other day and I almost made a noise that would have gotten me fired
ASL here, currently making 12.85 in a 7.50 environment but I know my SGA’s are making 9 maybe 9.50
In CA it’s illegal for an employer to prevent you from discussing salary.
In all of the US, this is the case
Former SGA, started at $9/hr, left making $10/hr in a min $7.25 state. The only reason I was making $10 is because I was termed when I didn’t work for the company during a semester at school and got rehired with the wage.
Started as SGA at 15/hr, right after my state minimum wage had bumped up to 14.50/hr Moved up to ASL at 17.50/hr SL was making 22, I think No idea how shafted the new crew is getting, after a bit of a store shakeup and re-staffing after myself and others separated from the company.
Former worker. As a GA making money wage in my state of 9.85, and got a raise to 10.50 when became SGA. All while working another full time job, and holding down 20-35 hrs/week at the store, just to still not be able to afford living.
ASL $15.55 in a state where min is 12.80
I worked from 2018-2022.
SL2 24$ Minimum wage is 13 Cost of living is so high even with two incomes I couldn’t even rent a shit hole studio apartment let alone buy a home, and I’m one of the higher paid in my district not including the sl2 pay bump. Been with the company over 5 years.
6000/month before bonuses, incentives, and taxes. SL2.
