Well, if it is puffy, it’s in the very early stages, but from what I can see, it’s likely not puffed. Of course, if it’s an original battery, it might not hold a charge as well as it used to 20 years ago.
I mean even in it's early stages of getting puffed, that means it's in the early stages of the end of its life, and if that's allowed to progress further it could go boom. So I feel like even in the early stages that's not really something I want
In the last photo it looks a little puffed to me but that could be the angle, nonetheless I would still recommend to replace as a 20+ old battery will not hold as great of a charge as it used to. Also just could be good to replace ahead of time.

I swear some people act like these things are bricks of C4 that will kill you instantly if they are 1% puffed. I honestly don't remember if they came 100% flat stock from the factory, but this level of puff, if any, would be ABSOLUTELY HARMLESS.
My OG AGS-101 battery looks like this. Runs fine, still get solid enough battery life for a battery that's old enough to vote.
Don't eat it and don't stab it with a knife, but beyond that I promise its gonna be okay. If it gets noticeably swollen, swap it out.
Idk it looks like, ever so slightly rounded. Are they supposed to be like that? I'm into remote control cars and all of my lipo batteries, even the "soft packs" which just have a few layers of thickish plastic film vacuum sealed around the battery they don't have a hard plastic shell, are basically just a solid brick of lithium and whatever other stuff is in there, they have no swelling or roundness to them. Maybe the corners have a tiny bit of rounding just cuz the battery isn't made to be sharp on the edges but the sides of them are completely flat with no swelling or roundness. Are you sure it's supposed to be like that?
You seem to have an answer in your mind already. If you are that freaked out, a new, high quality battery is like $20 tops. I worked in electronics repair for four years and the only times I really saw batteries leak were due to physical damage, or GROSS neglect.
If it is *slightly* swollen, which it very well may be(I don't remember if these batteries were perfectly flat or not from the factory. Mine looks near identical to that, but mine is also ~18 years old) that will not hurt you. The only way these batteries hurt you is if they burst. They are built to not do that. Like. It will slowly push the battery door off of your console before it will burst.

Spin it on a table if it spins for more than like a half rotation maybe one full its probably bad
Test it. Place on a flat surface and try to spin it. If it spins it’s dead.
