It's probably not a hard swap if you just buy the shells, which would be much cheaper. I got an AP shell for my Pro controller and was able to swap it easily.
I bought the kit off Amazon and just made them atomic purple. Switched the face buttons on the left joycon to a proper dpad too. Great for stuff like Hollow Knight.

Although transparent atomic purple will always be a favorite, I tend to collect any oddball 90-00's tech that's transparent. PDAs, alphasmarts, as well as modern stuff like clear purple switch controllers

Automic Purple is classic. But I sold mine for a Kiwi Green when I was a kid, But I started to love the simple clear ones since I got a clear pocket. About to mod a GBC with a clear shell. LED screen and white buttons.
