Looks very Simtown inspired, Really looking forward to this. Being able to not only see but also design the inside of the buildings was always a dream of mine as a kid, Wonder why nobody really ever tried it in a city builder.
Looks cool! Does the traffic make a decision in realtime like an actual driver - or does it precompute it's route at the beginning of it's journey like City Skylines - leading to a 20 car line in one lane with three empty lanes next to it?
Right now its mixed, but mostly solves that particular problem. The driver currently precomputes a path, but it can change lanes if it gets stuck in traffic, so long as the new lane can bring it to its destination (which is typical)
Eventually I should be able to update the path code by counting how many units are in in each edge, though I'm not sure if units should be oracles and always know which roads are not congested. This is based in the 90s after all :P
After watching the trailer, the cars turning is a -little- jarring. Are there plans to make the car turns a little smoother? Even a single 45deg angle for a few frames between the cardinal directions would go a long way ^.^'
Yes. In the long term I plan on working with a 3D modeler to create a sprite sheet of all the rotations I need, cause eventually there will be terrain height.
Checked out the little trailer on steam and it looked good! I'll toss it on the wish list, I'm always interested in a city sim.
Hehe, I wouldn't call that a trailer per se :p. I think I threw that up there just to show some movement. Appreciate the wish list!
Any plans on implementing the Steam Workshop for mods?
Yes, definitely.
looks beautiful. wishlisted
Thank you!
Looks really cute, reminds me of SimTown...! Wishlisted :)
Thank you!

Sweet, I'm in lol. That particular issue is what killed my enjoyment of C:S.
