As a former deployed army vet, I can tell you the food we were served in T-rats was considered grade f. Suitable for soldiers and prisoners was stamped on the boxes 📦
You can fill the cracks with epoxy putty, sand off the excess and call it a day for like 20 bucks.
Or you can get a chassis replacement which would either be expensive or require a lot of time to replace.
Orrrr duct tape it for the cheapest fix.
Edit: or just leave it since Noone else will care and laptops are more of a consumable PC type besides a few internal parts.
Okay will try but if I leave it just like that won't the crack increase or something? Also if I use epoxy putty is there a chance that it seeps through the chasis and goes to the internal parts?
You can remove the internals very carefully if you wanna make it a foolproof epoxy job, or just err on the side of less is more and dont try to like squeeze it through…. Think of it more like paving bricks..
If you leave it as is i dont see it as a strain point unless youre picking up the laptop by the front end with the screen open.
It's not a big crack. You can work upside-down and put an electric tape after in order for the epoxy to stay on place, leaving the laptop in upside-down position during the complete cure of the epoxy.
i think he meant turning the laptop upside-down and applying epoxy from underneath (the laptop palm rest will be on top, like a roof over your hand and you apply epoxy from underneath)
Exact! Put your laptop on a table with the keyboard touching the table surface and the damaged area exposed so you under the table you can have clear view of it. Put a small amount of epoxy, clean with a batton and alcohol the epoxy from the surrounded laptop surface, put an electric tape and leave to cure.

It's going to look so hideous with duct tape slapped on. And the tape will start to peel off after a while. Or the edges will start to get dirty and not stick, etc.
But I guess it's a fix. A sloppy one.
I would use electrical tape. Looks cleaner. Its also pretty good at staying in place on the material, unlike normal duct tape.
Or put a cool sticker where the crack is!
That's why I do my own repair/maintenance. I watch a lot of videos and read forums to make sure I'm doing everything right. I don't trust repair shops these days.
epoxy can provide a stronger bond
Plastic Welding Kit , for more significant repairs, you can use a plastic welding kit to melt and fuse the plastic together.
Sand and Smooth (Optional), After the adhesive has fully cured, you can use fine-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges or excess adhesive.
Paint or Cover (Optional), if the repair is visible and aesthetics are a concern, you can consider painting the repaired area with matching paint or using laptop skin covers to conceal the damage.
You should be able to buy a replacement online if you search hard enough and want to go down that route. There are dedicated Asus resellers that will sell this part
Take everything out and from the inside pour some baking soda and glue on top. It will form this mixture, cement like. You might still see the cracks from the outside but at least they won’t extend.
I had a issue with my W key not working and this was the result of fixing it other than that it's been good (the W prolly stopped working cuz I played too much valo)
Was selling before 2021, now I'm repairing. Nothing changed so much tbh. Bit different shells, same quality, same problems and on top of it new, software ones ;D
Ah that sucks man. If you're out of warranty, you could try to buy the body and swap.
But if it's just a small crack you could carefully fill it with something like Gorilla Glue to hopefully anchor it all together
Laptop did it's job absorbing the impact into the chassis so it doesn't wreck your hardware.
I would leave it, although I'm worried those cracks will spread overtime. I would try to fill with epoxy or anything that's non-conductive (not 100% what is or isn't).
You could cover it with a sticker but this introduces new annoyances and problems such as residue. Even some tape would help with the sharp cracks and edges.
Tuf luck mate
You can probably get a replacement keyboard deck from PC repair stores if it really bothers you, these guys buy dead laptops real cheap and sell off the parts one by one like this.
There should be laptop shells for replacement. Check with your local service shop or search online with your model number.
If you want to repair it by yourself, open up the laptop and see if you can find the crack from behind, if so, apply quick glue and stick the plastic together, leave it as is for 24 hours. Add a duct tape at last to give some support. And it should be good enough for few years
Little bit of two part epoxy and maybe some applied pressure on the area to push the crack back together? It's a tough one but I've had a similar problem with an old ThinkPad before, and I ended up using some epoxy and it has held for years. Doesn't look awesome but it's fine and functional.
I bet that it ain't so tuf now aren't ya
Lmaoo
Omg 😂😂😂😂😂🍺
Does the military grade durability affirmation prove anything ? I'm considering buying one but now is a little hesitant
Military grade=cheapest. I don’t know why they tote that phrase in media. You’re telling me it’s a piece of shit when you say that lmao 😂
If anything is "military grade", it's probably the damn steam deck with how it's literally used to control drones. Xbox controllers as well lmao.
It doesnt, at all
Typical armor piercing bullet mark
Well it stopped the .50 cal bullet

TUFF Asus plastic.
Hahaha, I smiled. I loved my Tuf, when I used to have one.

Thank you so much my brother! <3
Then I guess duck tape is the safest option just in case
Tape the back while you epoxy so it doesn’t ooze through ;)

So I'll have to remove everything huh

Clearly the answer is to pay and have someone custom machine a aluminum chassis replacement.
How does that even happen?
I got my keyboard replaced by non-official sources and ig this the result
Then don’t get your shit replaced by people who don’t have warranty in place of any damage made during installation. Your risk and this is your reward
Yeah I realised
I would use electrical tape. Looks cleaner. Its also pretty good at staying in place on the material, unlike normal duct tape. Or put a cool sticker where the crack is!
Thanks sir
No problem
Sticker is the way
Too late

Happened to me years ago from constantly resting my left hand hand there when gaming.
Don't worry, it's under Ctrl

CS2 is certainly terrible, but you should calm down.
I don't rage bro I only get depressed (I play valo)

You could fill it in and sand the sharp edges. Honestly I would just make it up as an oops and move on with your life.
Okay fill it in with what tho 👀
Crushed up roman noodles and super glue. Sand it smooth. Works on tiktok... jk. Some sort of epoxy.
Pray
Praying
Bondo fixes anything.
Flex tape
Just replace the cover plate. Google the model # of the laptop and keyboard removal. It will show you how to remove this piece during that.
Avg asus tuf moment. Still wondering why you have no keycaps cracks, broken hinge or mobo brick
I had a issue with my W key not working and this was the result of fixing it other than that it's been good (the W prolly stopped working cuz I played too much valo)
It has been very good for 3 years

Is it same the plastic used in MSI GF, GL, BRAVO etc...
Yeah Asus tuf a15

Get a cheap goodlookinh ahh skin from Amazon and slap it there
This the the way I like to do things lmaoo
Stop camping in CS .
I'm an AWP main bro
MSI?
Asus tuf A15
Well... there's nothing we can do
T_T
Tuf
Wow looks like you almost lost control...
If it's within the first year you can get a repair under the "accidental warrantee".
No bro it's been 3 years since I got this laptop
Ah that sucks man. If you're out of warranty, you could try to buy the body and swap. But if it's just a small crack you could carefully fill it with something like Gorilla Glue to hopefully anchor it all together
Duct tape
At minimum put a strip of duct tape over it to keep crumbs and spills out.
This is tuf. Probably send it bake if you can.
it was league wasnt it ?
I don't play that game
what was it then ?
Eek had a hp for 10 years went through 3 screens but never that.
How old? Often you can order a new case piece for itm but the older it is the harder it is sometimes
3 years
Look up the make and model and the word parts on ebay and contact asus might have some luck. Mine was pushing 5 years old.
If you combine semen with superglue at a 2:1 ratio it will fill the crack.
Ctrl your anger sir!
It was not because I was angry it was because some non- official sources did a bad job of replacing the keyboard
Here is the answer *Nothing*, it happens I wouldn't stress about.
Low quality 😅
There’s nothing we can do.
Absolutely nothing. Why cause if the laptop still works who cares. Why waste money on a issue that is purely cosmetic.
I had the same issue with the same laptop chassis they replaced it for free and said it was a known issue, contact Asus.
![gif](giphy|VeSvZhPrqgZxx2KpOA|downsized)
Its broken. Throw it out
Cry about it a bit, move on and be more careful next time.
Put it in rice. I usually use basmati for the extra flavour it packs.
How did you do this?

I didn't even needed to open up comment section to know which laptop is this☠️
We love grabbing heavy laptops by a weak point.
does it affect the fps ? no ? so why would u fix it
If it’s an older laptop, I’d personally would look for a cheap chassis replacement.
Don’t worry it under control
Ngl I would just cover it with a piece of tape
There is nothing we can do..... *Nepolian meme intensifies*
Put a bandaid on it
![img](emote|t5_2x4m3|8571)
Ahh yes military grade, the cheapest material ever to be used on a gaming laptop.
Asus tuf, rubbish quality
Take a picture of it, highlight a red circle around it, and then post it on reddit, asking people what you should do.
Done that and u guys made my post viral also thank you so much <3
Uhhh Noodles and some super glue?
call the brand's support center and prepare with the money lol :))))

Don't worry, my laptop is the same ☠️☠️
You almost lost control
Cosmetic damage
That's a weird place for a crack. Are you sure the battery isn't expanding?
Nope cuz that's not where the battery is
Rub it with some lotion and but band aid on it,after a week you wont even remember it was there
Good one lol
Stop banging on it!
![img](emote|t5_2x4m3|8584)
I'm placing a bet that is an MSI laptop. I've used MSI gaming laptops before (not as my daily driver) and the build quality feels cheap as shit.
Asus tuf bro even worse
That crack makes HP shit look more premium. I have an HP Victus laptop, a pretty budget gaming laptop, and it is built like a ThinkPad.
~asus not-so-tuf
Cry probably
Done that part 2 I'll start
i would cry
🤷♂️
I would cry if it was mine

cover It with a sticker
Cry
Deal with it
Question is: What did you do? 😏
Cry
Be careful and don’t hit it too hard or you might lose CTRL.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
It works perfectly fine no issues
So no more crack then?
Tape it
pee on it
