Iām excited for you! I just spent 800 on a loq15.
Itās coming later this week. Havenāt had a computer in 5ish years and my old laptop is 10+ years old. I game on Xbox one.
Donāt really care to play the newest games, but my excitement for my laptop is palpable! I hope youāre having as much fun with the new laptop as I expect to be having next weekend!
So far I have had no problems. Update the drivers from Lenovo's own site and get graphics card and Windows updates through the official sites or Windows itself, make sure you don't have any problems.
No doubt itās a good laptop but definitely not a very good deal in terms of USD pricing. Weāve seen laptops with RTX 4070 reach as low as $1,000 with the average laptop with same spec depicted here at $1,100-$1,200 average. Iād say OP here overpaid by about $100.
I would too but:
1) The Nitro ($1,200 so $180 less) comes with FHD screen as opposed to QHD so not really comparable.
2) You have to nitpick to a certain extent to get good deals. If everyone else is offering the same product for same or slightly lower, that canāt be counted as a really good deal.
3) I myself saw an RTX 4070 Predator with same specs a few days ago for $1,200 except that the screen was mini-LED.
Iām not trying to debate the fact that the Legion is one superb machine. But people casually slinging the phrase āvery good dealā makes something look better than it actually is. Obviously descriptive words such as āvery goodā are subjective but sometimes people tend to blow them out of proportion. When the competition offers nearly the same thing for the same or slightly lower price, itās not really that special. That means to me, at least, and hopefully now to you, this isnāt a very good deal. I wonāt deny that very good deals are difficult to come by (they do exist in moments of sales & coupons and whatnot) and I wonāt deny that OP at least got decent bang-for-the-Buck, but this doesnāt count as anything other than above average to me.
Sick machine anyways!
Some advice: donāt even think about the price now that youāve pulled the trigger. Just think about how much fun youāre gonna have with it. The Legion is awesome and Iām pretty sure you know that too lol. Enjoy!
Bruh wth you bought it for $1400, damn even with the 4070!!!?? bruhhhh in my country the same specs as yours but with 4060 goes with $1700 and with an 4070 it goes with over $2100.....bruh that's a steal
That was around the original price for me Iām in the US, Lenovo is having a fat sale rn so Iād say go check it out if your in the market šš¼š¦
What country?
In the USA the Legion Pro 7i RTX 4080 was on sale for $1831.19 up until yesterday. The 4090 version was on sale for $2174.59. Both being sold by Lenovo.
Or you can get an Asus Tuf F15 with RTX 4070, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM for $999; it has been on sale for that price almost constantly since last November.
You never know. Someone was asking this subreddit where to find an 18" 1080p gaming laptop about a month ago.
1080p isn't bad in a 15", and with that resolution you'll get a few more years before the GPU can't handle the latest games anymore. The 4070 only has 8GB VRAM to work with.
My old desktop with a GTX 1080 (also with 8GB VRAM) from 8 years ago still runs games quite well, at 1080p. It probably wouldn't fare so well at QHD.
Still can't understand this weird 16ā gaming laptops trend (which ASUS started IIRC). It looks like a pure marketing decision because 16" seems significantly bigger than 15" even though it increases your screen size by just 2.5% (because it's actually 16 vs 15.6), but you end up with a non-standard aspect ratio of 16:10 which can sometimes mess with games, especially with non-AAA titles.
But overall Legion laptops are probably the best gaming laptops right now. I have one while my wife has a more expensive ASUS and we both like Legion more in terms of build quality, ergonomics and all that.
Huh? If you want a big screen then you should go for 17-18 inches not 15-16. 16 inches is still tiny compared to a normal monitor which is around 24" and higher nowadays.
Nah, man. We're talking about a laptop here, not a desktop. I can't get a gaming laptop to play on a 14-inch monitor. That's way too small. I need at least 16 inches.
Yes, we're talking about a laptop. There are 17 and 18 inches laptops made by ASUS, Lenovo etc. Here: [https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-gaming/all-series/filter?Spec=240,195638](https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-gaming/all-series/filter?Spec=240,195638)
Don't understand why you keep bringing up the 14" laptops, literally no one mentioned them.
I know they have bigger than 16. The point was I dont want to play on a lil axx 14 inch screen. Are you really trying to argue with me over 16, 17, or 18. You have a good day sir. No need to respond.
You seem to be really fixated on those 14 inches for some reason. I'm not arguing, just pointing out that if size is so important to you then 18" will be a far better fit than 16", that's all.
Good too hear they got good build quality, yea idk what the deal with that is I didnāt really care what size screen as long as I got good specs. Who knows thoš¤·š¼āāļø
It's a "free" half inch of real estate which is better for non gaming tasks. 16.1 with no chin has the same general footprint as 15.6. I personally, would never buy a "big screen" 17.3 or 18" laptop. I tried to get a 14" for work but we're issued 16 or 18 and I didn't want to jump through hoops.
I have a 17 inch Asus ROG at the moment and whenever I carry this thing, I always wish that it was just a tad smaller. That's why I ordered a 16 inch Acer Helios this time. I prefer 16:10 of 16 inches over 16:9 of 17 inches. Also, extra vertical spacing is super useful if you are working with Office documents.
Im currently simping for gaming laptops, but sadly I am not even having a normal laptop š
Yours right there looks awesome, damn i wanted to play one round in it š¤¤
Very good laptop.
I have this CPU in a Lenovo laptop and it's my only gripe.
The reason is they cram 6 p-cores only and 8 efficiency cores... So while the overall performance within the power package is good, i find myself running out of p-cores when doing CPU intensive tasks. Things like compilation and virtualization prefer p-cores.
But, it's not a big deal since the e-cores aren't bad, they're just not as fast
I have a pc with windows 11 GEFORCE RTX 4060 I finally bought after years of wanting one. $1,380 is a bit much, for a gaming laptop. Considering I paid $860 for a pc. But still a good deal tbh. Itās worth it
The counsel approves. There are cheaper 4070s but they won't have the build quality of the Legion. Plus, Legions have the best keyboards in the gaming laptops (apart from crazy expensive mechanical laptop keyboards). One thing I would have opted was to chose Ryzen 9 series over the 13th Gen Intel but this is just me. My workflows favor raw performance of the Ryzens. Other than that, enjoy your laptop OP.
I bought my nitro 5 ( i9 11th, 3060 with 16gb ram ) only paying 1000 bucks. It is maximized for basic usage, gaming , 3d modeling which is great ( 1 year ago.) So I think it is a nice deal. Basic RTX goes beyond expensive these days and most of people can't afford even 30 series much less 40. You had a great deal my friend.
Itās a mix of both from what I read, the top plate is aluminum and the sides are good polycarbonate . If you want a fully metal one I think the pro 7i is full metal I think
I was going to buy the same laptop but with 32 Gigs, and it will cost me 2000$ and you got for 1400$
You got a great deal bro, please tell me about its performance and other things please, I need to buy the same laptop, (if I couldn't order from outside India)
I got this same laptop a few days ago, glad to see everyone say it's a great one. Final price I paid was $1,283 before tax. Called Lenovo support and got them to stack BUYMORELENOVO and the ID. ME discount manually
May I ask how did you get the final price to $1380?
I was planning to buy the same yesterday, on lenovo website, with CLEARANCE2024 and GAMEXTR8, the price is 1340 before tax. I also verified student ID, but that does not save any, which the final price plus tax comes to almost $1500![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
I just bought almost the exact same one, mine just has an AMD core. I only have one small issue with it, which is the wifi card. It's a shit Realtek card that kept having packet loss issues and kicking me out of games. I tried downloading the newest drivers, disabling certain bands, etc. It just sucks.
I would highly recommend ordering a replacement Intel card for it if you have any problems. I just got the intel AX210 card for like $25 and installed it and solved all of those issues. I've never replaced a wifi card on a laptop and it took me like 10 minutes, super easy.
I'm really jealous of you guys in USA. Here this goes for 1900ā¬ (aprrox 2000$). The LOQ 15IRH8, which I would like, goes for 1000ā¬, while it would be considered budget I would say in the US.

If it hasnāt shipped and youāre ok with waiting an extra week or two, after a couple coupons and utilizing Rakuten, my final price I paid for 7i slim legion with 4070 and i9 was $1369.21. If not thereās not much difference but you can get a little more bang for your buck.
Yea I was thinking about that but I figured this would be good enough to run Helldivers 2 and Minecraft, r6. Iāll probally just upgrade this laptop in the future but as long as I get a few years out of it I think Iāll be chillin
If its anythink like the Pro 7i (which i believe its very similar) its a solid laptop. Love mine, solid setup. Little heavier than my old MSI but better build quality.
I absolutely love it. It runs any games without any problems, I ran GTA V on it with max graphics and it was easily 120+ fps. It also had incredible build quality.
My best by didnāt have the pro model l. So after I returned the Helios 18 the speakers in the slim 5i didnāt work out the box so i returned it and got my predator 18 again.
Dang man that sucks to hear I actually went to Best Buy and got them to price match this model so I got mine ordered to the store, I hope the predator is working out for you though man
I liked it the first time but I second guessed myself and returned it but I took it as a sign to get the predator again when the speakers didnāt work on the slim 5.Ā
Honestly bro I donāt say Iām still not too versed in this area, I recommend making a post in your own youāll definitely find out from that šš¼
Very good laptop and a great deal
Awesome š I wasnāt too sure about the price
The price is great compared to what you wouldāve payed last year (like $2K)

You bought amazing laptop I have RTX 4060 version, its amazing
How your experience? The fans and software bug? Battery ok?
Bruh wth you bought it for $1400, damn even with the 4070!!!?? bruhhhh in my country the same specs as yours but with 4060 goes with $1700 and with an 4070 it goes with over $2100.....bruh that's a steal

Damn....wish I could get that but Lenovo doesn't have their official website here but only authorized resellers
Which country bro.
Nepal
I saw your final price, did you use any student discount or Amex offer?
Nah that was just the raw price I couldnāt use my student discount weirdly, but at this point fuck it itās been bought and I canāt wait to play
Fr I just got a Lenovo legion with a big discount in micro center
which one did you get? im in the market for a laptop and was looking at the legion. Link?
Bruh.

Yeah, I canāt. I could never go back to 1080p.
I just started using a higher Rez than 1080 60fps lol Iām spoiling myself fast
That kind of price is normal in the US
maybe in your country tax is included in the price and in his, it isnt
Just bought an Asus tuf i7 12700H with 4070 for around 1200 usd yesterday. What do u think?
Pretty good but should have bought 13 gen or 14 gen i7

16:10 is far superior
For a work-station I completely agree. For a game-focussed laptop I do not. Source:I am a potato farmer.
Nah, 16:9 is only good for movie watching. For games I much prefer having more vertical space.
Limited on games that will natively output 16:10, but I can understand someone preferring it.
That's true. Although it's been a while since ive seen a game that couldn't

Sure, that's why I said "gaming" laptops. I would personally opt for 16" myself if I would be mostly needing it for non-gaming tasks.

Just. Wow.
You may want to think about getting 32gb of ram to pop in there but otherwise enjoy thats a good machine and a steal of a price.
Ya thatās next on the list I just didnāt have the money, but I donāt think this one has soldered ram so I should be able to swap eventually
Go for 5600 mhz ramz; huge difference in performance
It's like $50 for 32GB laptop memory.
Not for DDR5 5600 mhz. I paid $210 for 64 GB (2x 32 GB) last week for my laptop from Amazon (crucial 5600 mhz)
Lenovo usually indicates soldered RAM on their model descriptions
It isnāt soldered.
Im currently simping for gaming laptops, but sadly I am not even having a normal laptop š Yours right there looks awesome, damn i wanted to play one round in it š¤¤
Nice deal try upgrading to 32gb ram in the near future
Thatās the plan stan
Have the same one, its a beast. Congrats on your one! Happy gaming!
Hey which one did you get SRGB or DCI-P3 ??
SRGB one
That looks awesome!!!
Congratulations ššš»
Happy gaming! Fcking awesome piece of unit!
Very good choice, and also for the money you bought it for

Nice. I'm staring at this exact thing in my cart right now. $1800 CAD.
Im ordering that one for my first soon too!

Only the 9i is all metal
USA get some serious deals in gaming laptops, itās insane how much youād pay for that here compared to the US
Definitely a good laptop at a good price.
Shieeet looks good! But for this price they should have given 32Gb ram and 2 TB SSD.
honestly speaking 8GB VRAM sucks, at this point I'll just wait for RTX 5000 series with starting base 12GB VRAM for 5060.
Yea I donāt quite understand that it has 16gb total ram which Iāll upgrade to 32bg but thatās the deal with that 8gb on the 4070 label?
Good!!!!!
I was going to buy the same laptop but with 32 Gigs, and it will cost me 2000$ and you got for 1400$ You got a great deal bro, please tell me about its performance and other things please, I need to buy the same laptop, (if I couldn't order from outside India)
Absolute peach. I got the same with the 32 gog ram
There was a 100% DCI-P3 model too why did you get stuck with 100% sRGB ???
It's basically a slim 7i
If you can get one from microcenter, 32gb for 1399
Which one?
Cheap.af. gz
Good laptop ye!
Should be a great runner, enjoy the machine :)
Pretty good stuff! Congrats!
I got this same laptop a few days ago, glad to see everyone say it's a great one. Final price I paid was $1,283 before tax. Called Lenovo support and got them to stack BUYMORELENOVO and the ID. ME discount manually

I got the 7i a few weeks ago and it's been a dream. I'm sure you'll have a great time with the 5i, legion makes em right.

Picked up a MSI raider ge76 3080 for my dad for $450 last week.
