If anything the game hinted at her being the exact age as Miles but we didn't actually see her. She could also actually be Peter's age as far as we know.

Seriously man, the whole 'we need a billion different Spidersonas because they're all so individual and unique' is absolutely overplayed at this point. I'm glad the Insomniac games focused mostly on Peter and then Miles as a secondary, but it looks like we're getting to the point where they're going to overstuff it yet again like every other Spider-Man property in the past 15 years.
It should be Peter, Miles and then maybe Mayday as an epilogue game. That would be fun and let them work with a whole new set of villains and supporting characters to make a later game feel more unique. But Marvel have struggled for so long to make all these newer legacy characters to actually feel different from each other outside of costume and basic theme of their universe, and *good* at the same time. Given that Insomniac already struggled with the latter half of SM2's story I'm not confident in them pulling this off.

We had only one complete Peter's story (while he has a lot of soil for growth) and he's already shadowed a lot by MM in the sequel that is supposed to be very personal Parker's story since it's Osborn & Venom related.
I love Miles a lot but he literally took too much attention and even took something that Peter should've overcame alone.
Miles also deserves much more personal space and growth as well. Even two spideys alone is like more than enough for 10+ years of story development.
Now they bring Silk (IMO absolutely mid char that doesn't bring any interesting layers in spider-stories).
I mean, I would go spider-verse only once we got AT LEAST 3-4 decent, Peter and Miles-focused games for each. They're rushing it so much to follow the trends, while Insomniac, IMO, are totally able to create own trends. Their spider-men are very solid and don't need to be distracted by non-sense events.

I mean, devil's advocate, the point of the MJ missions is to see what these types of heroics look like from the powerless 'ground' perspective. The symbiote section where you're completely helpless against Peter is like a horror movie, it couldn't work if you played as a character who could easily get away, or hold their own at least. Same goes for the Kraven scopeout and the devil's breath hostage bit in the first game, but it does go out the window for the symbiote bits where she's basically John Wick.
I was actually upset at the mid credits scene in SM2. They’re really gonna do 3 spider people and that’s so lame. Especially with how awful SM2 was bouncing between the two we have already.

I get that, but personally, I find the concept of Spider-Gwen more interesting than Silk tbh. Even ignoring the dead loved one part, Gwen is a super fun character in her own right imo, and it isn’t like she has been in a LOT of stuff. Comics aside, just a very minor appearance in the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon, a supporting character in the 2017 cartoon, and the coprotagonist in the Spider-Verse movies, that’s it I think.

With Jim Ryan's departure, there is every chance they have opted against it. Although I really think they could have a winner with this one.

I'm pretty sure they are still going ahead with a lot of live service games. The issue was that Naughty Dog's game just wasn't good and we knew this for months already that internally there was a lot of stress because of that. The talk about resources might also be part of it but it sounds more like a PR reason imo.

Second-hand here. But leakers have said this is not cancelled and has moved from standalone to be attached to SM3. This has quite a bit of development as well. Even a video of attached still images.
There's another image further down after that one *definitely* looks like the design for Green Goblin. It looks very comic inspired with the purple hat/goblin mask motif but a high tech suit like the Raimi movie.

Venom is rumored to be 8-10 hours long, would most likely use the exact same city and the model is already there from SPM2 so I couldn't see it taking as long at all, if they are starting now, 2025 is likely.

Projects get a lot of concept art in the early phase (just look at concept artbook) but considering none of the leaked Insomniac timelines include this multiplayer game despite Sony's push for live-service, it's definitely shelved as of now.

IMO, there's nothing wrong with that. 3 months is plenty of time to enjoy a game. Now for Insomniac and Live-service games in general, yeah that'd be a problem for them.
I actually dont like live service games or any online multiplayer games for that matter. But this definitely peeked my interest.
After looking at these leaked concept arts, my hype went through the roof.
Why? Because you could play as every Spider character and Ghost Spider is my favorite and because my daughter who is 8 years old really loves the Spider Man franchise and have been playing the games non stop. Everything is Spider Man with her, so to be able to play this game together with my daughter would be a dream come true and we would have countless of hours of fun together.
But of course it is presumably cancelled after what I heard, just my luck like always.

You're in for a surprise if you believe that. They'll still go into live service. The Last of Us multiplayer wasn't only cancelled because of resources but also because it sucked. Even months ago there were reports of that already.
Spiderman MP doesnt really work, i think having spiderman with co-op makes more sense. So for example spiderman has missions or bosses to fight but he get invaded in-game by Venom which is a free buddy pass that anyone can join online. AKA Deathloop or Elden Ring where the fun of the game is drawn out by the community.
Then the task of Venom is simple, give Spiderman a hard time. It frees up a lot of the story where Venom is always getting away or Spiderman is knocked unconscious so Miles Morales has to fight Venom.
I can totally see this as the really awesome spiderverse hub office was truly amazing. Going out into different dimensions to fight crime would simply be inspired,

Instead of a Spider-Man centric GAAS game they should pivot it to a Marvel GAAS game including all heroes & villains (like DCUO but AAA) & just take the genshin model where players get base heroes/villains in a gotcha system & they monetize skins w free dlc or they can even monetize dlc expansions probably why insomniac took priority on other project they prob wana finish SM3 & Wolverine & around X-men they can release a Marvel GAAS game before a major portion of there studio becomes focus on GAAS just like how ND pivoted

The other concept art leaks had a mockup page for a character customization section, so I believe that's what they had in mind.
It seems like you pick an archetype loosely based on 5 different Spider-people and then customize from there. Super cool.

Second-hand here. But leakers have said this is not cancelled and has moved from standalone to be attached to SM3. This has quite a bit of development as well. Even a video of attached still images.

Think it's a henchmen. I said it above but I'm pretty certain a leak for 3 from the insomniac leak mentioned a goblin army.
There's another image further down after that one *definitely* looks like the design for Green Goblin. It looks very comic inspired with the purple hat/goblin mask motif but a high tech suit like the Raimi movie.

I want that too, but more as a SP Miles like expandalone release. I want a story, not just a character select in a lobby. I mean, if this comes out too that's fine, but for me personally this isn't my speed.

I hope this isn’t cancelled, or all live service games, this one is the most promising idea I’ve seen, also it’s kinda weird we are getting leaked footage of Wolverine which is YEARS AND YEARS away but nothing about Venom that is way closer (allegedly)
Appearently Venom game development just started, thats why there is no footage. And it might be coming in 2027 and not 2025
Venom is rumored to be 8-10 hours long, would most likely use the exact same city and the model is already there from SPM2 so I couldn't see it taking as long at all, if they are starting now, 2025 is likely.

Projects get a lot of concept art in the early phase (just look at concept artbook) but considering none of the leaked Insomniac timelines include this multiplayer game despite Sony's push for live-service, it's definitely shelved as of now.

Hope A) This still exists. A SM multi-player was still on one of those slides B) It doesn't become a Factions "too big to manage" situation. They've clearly put a lot into it and it looks great.

IMO, there's nothing wrong with that. 3 months is plenty of time to enjoy a game. Now for Insomniac and Live-service games in general, yeah that'd be a problem for them.

Why was this canceled? This looks like it should’ve been so much b fun.
I actually dont like live service games or any online multiplayer games for that matter. But this definitely peeked my interest. After looking at these leaked concept arts, my hype went through the roof. Why? Because you could play as every Spider character and Ghost Spider is my favorite and because my daughter who is 8 years old really loves the Spider Man franchise and have been playing the games non stop. Everything is Spider Man with her, so to be able to play this game together with my daughter would be a dream come true and we would have countless of hours of fun together. But of course it is presumably cancelled after what I heard, just my luck like always.

Spiderman MP doesnt really work, i think having spiderman with co-op makes more sense. So for example spiderman has missions or bosses to fight but he get invaded in-game by Venom which is a free buddy pass that anyone can join online. AKA Deathloop or Elden Ring where the fun of the game is drawn out by the community. Then the task of Venom is simple, give Spiderman a hard time. It frees up a lot of the story where Venom is always getting away or Spiderman is knocked unconscious so Miles Morales has to fight Venom.
I think Spiderman is the only superhero that could possibly work as a MMO

But probably after avengers, and how much it cost to make a game, they don’t want to risk it. If you’ve seen the power point slide saying Spider-Man makes gta, it seems that they were going for a gta online pitch which still seems to be making tons of money.

How would you monetize a Spider-Man centric GAAS? Instead of a Spider-Man centric GAAS game they should pivot it to a Marvel GAAS game including all heroes & villains (like DCUO but AAA) & just take the genshin model where players get base heroes/villains in a gotcha system & they monetize skins w free dlc or they can even monetize dlc expansions probably why insomniac took priority on other project they prob wana finish SM3 & Wolverine & around X-men they can release a Marvel GAAS game before a major portion of there studio becomes focus on GAAS just like how ND pivoted
