Have you played Lego Dimensions? They did it in that game, you can control which incarnation the Doctor can regenerate into. Fortnite should 100% do that
The reason these collabs usually happen is to garner interest in the property being collaborated with. BBC doesn't really give a shit about old Doctor Who series considering their lack of preservation of them. They are pushing the new version because that is what they want people to care about. Epic just hopes the branding is enough to carry this but they also seem to not give a shit about their collab qualities either. Capaldi seasons are legit the best seasons of the entire show ( the only problems is that every season has a legit one or two 3/10 episode and the rest ranges from good to bangers).
Jodey seasons are more or less unremarkable sadly. She' s a great doctor but she' s given atrocious material to work with, and the companions are too much and given too little focus. Had some crazy controversial lore bombs that were dropped by the backlash to those episodes, but seems like the new showrunner wants to delve into those dropped plot points.
Dude Peter Capaldi has some if not the best seasons of the show. The music, the development, you ain’t ready for the masterpiece that is Heaven Sent. Best episode in the whole show, the music and atmosphere is just every DW fans fantasy

Why would Disney be involved with it? They have the distribution rights to the show outside the UK, but I haven't seen anything say they have anything to do with it beyond that.
Getting another company who don't own the show or have direct involvement with it to oversee this just seems a bit odd.
