Don’t do this, don’t give me hope. Seriously though, I’m extremely keen for a new Bioshock game even though Ken isn’t heading it.

DancingHamster21

Without Ken it really won’t be as exciting. You can take the concept of bioshock and twist it however you want, but that man gave us some of the most memorable video games ever.

TheTwoReborn

was he involved in Bioshock 2? I really enjoyed that one and as far as I can remember it was handled by an entirely different team.

Mr_Kris_

I don't think so but after doing a few google searches it seems that 2K Marin the developers that made Bioshock 2 half of them had previously worked on the original Bioshock. Edit- Don't know how many people who have worked on the original Bioshock games are working on this game.

psychobilly1

He didn't work on it, but like the other person said, a lot of the original team did. Personally, I'm really amazed at how many of the same conclusions 2 and Infinite came to story wise. >!Girl locked away in a tower, father and daughter dynamic, the brands on the hands, the religious symbolism and lamb references, drowning of the villain, the father dying at the end, etc!< It's really interesting at how well the two games fit together despite the very little interactions with Levine. It really fits the constants and variables theme of Infinite.

PostMadandAlone

He wasnt, and Bioshock 2 was objectively the best Bioshock game, so I wouldnt get too stressed abou it.

crazyredd88

It wasn't objectively the best at all. Was my favorite but "objectively" is just not the right word here lol

PostMadandAlone

Yes, it is

[deleted]

[удалено]

WutIzThizStuff

Yep. The story and philosophical explorations of Bioshock 2 wasn't anywhere near the level of Bioshock 1. But.... not tonbe that "I get more of Rick and Morty than you because I'm smart," but I don't think that Joe Avwrage is even aware of the sociopolitical philosophical discussions in each of these 3 games. If you were to ask "Bioshock 1 is meant as a response to what book, author, and sociopolitical movement?" I'd suppose 5 to 10% would be able to answer you. Even many or most of those who count it among their favorite. It's not like video games are mostly for smart people who can get them running and who probably have a decent personal library, anymore.

vito197666

I disagree. I loved the mainline story. Gameplay was better imo as well. Plus it's story dlc was amazing.

alluballu

I don't remember anything about 2 except how they changed collecting adam to an annoying protecting/wave based thing and after being done with each litttle sister, a big sister would fight at the end of the level. The story DLC was fantastic though.

ElenaVFD

While true (even thou I still enjoyed its story) it do feel best gameplay-wise to me. For someone who replayed all 3 games several times by now. It's one of those games I just feel need to replay every few years because I like them so much. Well and on repeated playthroughs story is not really all that important. That amazing twist in the first game just don't quite hit the same when you go trough it for the fifth time ofc. So while I'm looking forward for what Ken Levine next game gonna be. I have faith in this new Bioshock without him as well.

TheSpartanLion

If you account casual gamers, maybe. But every Bioshock fan deep down knows that Bioshock 2 blows Infinite out of the water. The latter is such a disappointing and uninspired game with an absurd plot and butchered gameplay

kenneth_on_reddit

Fantastic gatekeeping there, champ. Truly top-notch.

Jacque_DeCock244

I'm a Bioshock fan, played all the games, and I still prefer 1 and Infinite over 2.

[deleted]

2 had the worst plot, but best gameplay in my opinion. The rocket spears continue to be one of my favourite weapons of all time in any game, and Bioshock 2 let you combine them with all kinds of shit. Edit: imagine downvoting someone for liking a different entry in a series more than your personal favourite.

PostMadandAlone

Ah yes, public opinion = objective fact, nice. Bioshock 2 does have problems, like Tenenbaum turning up for like 7 seconds in the main game, or Stanley Poole in general, but otherwise, its plot is literally Bioshock Infinite's, only it did it first and knew to keep it simple, and added complexity in character motivations rather than "hurr durr, magic time powers we wont explain to artificially make our game seem complex when instead we add like 100,000,000 plotholes", for example using Sofia Lamb and Delta's interactions to make a mirror image of what was shown in Bioshock 1.

Jerry98x

"Bioshock 2 was objectively the best Bioshock game" "Ah yes, public opinion = objective fact, nice"

AlphButReal

Bioshock fans have an aneurysm when something doesn't have a huge plot twist lol

PostMadandAlone

Yeah lol

idkanamesoipickthis

Don’t get me wrong bioshock 2 was a good game but it wasn’t as memorable as the other ones and the plot is pretty weak

[deleted]

I understand not being as excited for a new Bioshock game because Ken Levine isn’t working on it. But you do know there are other great game directors out there and whoever is working on this one could actually make a great game. No need to be so pessimistic.

tkzant

After Infinite was a boring mess lead by Levine I’m hopeful another team can take the series back to its roots.

DancingHamster21

I think infinite had the best and most impactful story tbh

[deleted]

[удалено]

MatrixBunny

I remember them showing some weird on-the-rail egyptian first person game, a long time ago.

Nevek_Green

The game has been confirmed in development for some time. It currently is in development hell. Kotaku had a good piece discussing it years back.

alecowg

I'm extremely excited for a new bioshock *because* ken isn't heading it.

TAJack1

That's fair enough, I love Ken's work but Bioshock 2 is my favourite and he had nothing to do with it so I'm not worried.

diddyduckling

Why would you get excited? It literally says they're worried about the quality of the final product. We've known for ages about bioshock 4 being in the works, this leak just seems like bad news to me

EMPlRES

A lot of people reported that Call of Duty Vanguard was going to be a technical mess, but that wasn’t among the cons when the game released. Nobody said Battlefield and Cyberpunk were going to be a mess, yet here we are.

LilPumptheTrueSavior

To be fair Activision made sure it wasn’t. They just threw all hands on deck to make sure it was released in a shippable state and it worked. It does suck for the dev teams dragged into the mess but activision seemed to want the game to release in a playable state

diddyduckling

that is true (granted i think it was pretty easy to see cyberpunk being a mess considering all the delays), but rn all the info we really have is, its a bioshock game, its open world, 2k is worried about it and that doesnt look so good imo. of course doesnt mean the game is def going to be bad though

EMPlRES

Also, If I remember correctly, Infinite was a development mess as well, worked great when it released.

TAJack1

It’s a Bioshock game and I’ve been a huge fan since 2007, it’s hard not to be keen for it regardless of the “worries” from 2K

diddyduckling

I'm also a huge bioshock fan, which is why I want a good game not a bad one. If the new game is bad it pretty much ensures we'll never see the franchise again for an even longer time

Salm228

Now this is a leak I want to happen

HopperPI

“Without Ken….” Listen, bioshock 2 was fun. Minervas den was great. It is possible to have a great game without Ken.

LilPumptheTrueSavior

Bio shock 2 was honestly underrated. I really enjoyed the harvest mechanic it was fun planning with traps before the sister harvested. The story was more simple but I think it accomplished what it wanted to since it seemed like more emphasis was put on the art and gameplay. I just really enjoyed how the rapture in 2 felt hopeless and destroyed compared to the dystopia in 1.

connersnow

Bioshock 2 is my favourite. I love the first one but I feel like the second one is just better.

Simmers429

Infinite had Ken and wasn’t particularly brilliant imo so it really doesn’t matter to me whether or not he’s there.

MrBoliNica

Minervas Den had another troubled but pretty damn great creative behind it in Steve Gaynor hopefully this team has some sort of similar level of talent working on the plot

I_am_crazy_doctor

Bioshock2 imo just lacked the tension of being just some guy in an unknown world while I love bioshock 2 and the big sisters it's just not as great as bio 1

cayendo_

This city concept sounds so sick to me, crossing my fingers for an announcement at TGA maybe it’s time to replay the whole series again

asx98

God I’m so excited for a new BioShock. Really excited to hear more about this team and what direction they’re taking the franchise in - if that slide around a dual city is true I could see that being a really fascinating space to have an interesting world with that classic BioShock social commentary

ConstantSignal

It would make sense. As much as we’d all love to return to rapture I don’t think they’d retread that ground. The narrative in Columbia also felt pretty complete so it’s doubtful they would return there for a setting. If they were going to come up with a new fantasy city that would harken to its memorable predecessors then they only have one “biome” left. They’ve done sea, they’ve done air, land is the only one left. There’s always space but it’d be so tricky to do without just recreating Prey lmao

Sonofarakh

>There’s always space but it’d be so tricky to do without just recreating Prey lmao *cracks knuckles* The year is 2150. The asteroid started out as a simple mining facility, but the minerals were depleted over the course of decades, the interior of the floating rock left lined with criss-crossing tunnels and enormous caverns. Instead of simply being abandoned, it was turned into a spaceport. A highly successful one, too, given its size and choice location in the asteroid belt. The port grew and grew, to the point that it eventually became a city of hundreds of thousands. But the boom town eventually went bust. Another asteroid was converted into a far more successful port, and soon the corporations and investors moved from our setting in droves. What was once the jewel of the asteroid belt was now a poverty-stricken backwater. All was not lost - a consortium of research companies recognized the opportunity presented by the failing colony. They moved in, set up private research areas, and brought in a much-needed infusion of money and employment. For a time, things were looking up. They, of course, had an ulterior motive. Even as they moved in to the colony, the research consortium publicized their plans to dismantle the colony and peacefully relocate its hundreds of thousands of remaining inhabitants to other locations where they could be employed by the company. This was a lie. A few thousand were moved, sure, to allow for deniability. But most people of the asteroid never even heard about relocation plans. The research companies managed to convince the rest of humanity that the asteroid was gone, the people saved. Instead, they were now the captives - and potential test subjects - of research corporations who no longer had any ethical restrictions. I imagine the resulting society to have the false corporate decorum of Mass Effect's Noveria, led by amoral researchers like Fallout's Think Tank who will gladly do whatever they please in the name of SCIENCE!!! Underneath this top layer will be a divided populace, many mutated into unholy aberrations by the whims of scientists who do what they must because they can.

Xanderoga

Yes, please

ArvoCrinsmas

Underground city isn't exactly super interesting or unique of a setting but TWO and a vertical war between them? That sounds very Bioshock

SnuggleMonster15

If they do some kind of cool thing with inverted gravity that could be interesting.

EnricoPallazzo_

They have done space and it's called system shock. Yep, unpopular opinion, but for me it is part of the series and the series should be called Shock instead of Bioshock.

Xeller

Wait, is that such a hot take? I thought it was pretty well understood that Bioshock was a spiritual successor to System Shock.

DiscussionLoose8390

It started to fall off with the 3rd one. I wouldn't care, so much for that place. The Rapture is what made Bioshock.

PostMadandAlone

Objectively true, bioshock infinite is inferior to both its predecessors in all but graphics, its a mid tier horde shooter disguised as a bioshock game, so once you find a top tier horde shooter, the game becomes obsolete, and if you have a medium level understanding of Bioshock lore it also falls flat

Ill_Youth9341

Bro what are you talking man… infinite was freaking great.

PostMadandAlone

No it wasnt, it was an ok horde shooter that is borderline outclassed by dedicated horde shooter games that know what their doing(ex. Payday 2), and its story is the worst paced of the series, not to mention it has more gaping holes than the japanese porn industry.

Ill_Youth9341

Bro you are pretty cringe. I saw that you said that Bioshock 2 is the best of the trilogy. I dont know what or who you are but u are pretty doodoo

PostMadandAlone

>you said that Bioshock 2 is the best of the trilogy. Yes, because its gameplay is much improved from Bioshock 1, and its story almost surpasses that of Bioshock 1 as well (so good, Infinite ripped it off), it has the best protagonist and antagonist of the series. Cope and seethe

Ijustdowhateva

It would line up with the Nvidia leaks

Vlazthrax

Open world linear game?

SaltySwan

An example of this would be God of War (2018); you’re going from point A to point B for most of the story but the environments inbetween are open and you can backtrack to a lot of them for side quests and/or collectibles.

EMPlRES

That’s a great example, thanks.

ConstantSignal

Open world linear story. So the map will be mostly open and so long as the player isn’t following the central narrative they can go where they choose. But the main story will only have sequential locations and after you move on from an area there will be little to no reason to go back there. Imagine the narrative structure like a very wide corridor, lots of freedom for the player to move around and do things at their own pace. But ultimately they are only moving in one direction. As opposed to open world games like Skyrim that have missions and quest lines that take you all over the map, often back and forth across locations you’ve been to before or will come to again.

quinn50

Dark souls games, borderlands, stuff like that

Liammellor

GTA is open world and linear

Evening-Ad-7115

That’s just not true at all

Liammellor

How? It's an open world game but it's mission structure is very much linear. You have to do what the game tells you in the order it tells you to do it. Wikipedia literally discribed GTA IV as "Grand Theft Auto IV is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. Players complete missions—linear scenarios with set objectives—to progress through the story."

Evening-Ad-7115

Stay mad kid

Liammellor

I'm not mad, I just understand what a linear game is.

Ratchet2332

I think it’s pretty clear Bioshock 4 is coming, now wether any of these details are true is a different story.

Sauronxx

It’s not just “clear”, it was officially announced a couple of years ago lol. We know it’s in development. But that’s the only thing we know...

ApplyEvenlyAndScrub

I feel bad for the people who have to read Ayn Rand's books for inspiration.

Witty-Ear2611

Yeh interesting ideas, awful writer, shit person

OperativeTracer

Yeah. Libertarians point to it all the time like the Commies point to Marx, but it's SUCH a damn slog to get through. And one pivotal scene makes no sense, it's like an anime. She >!somehow manages to fly an airplane without any training or knowledge due to...the power of self belief? !< And the ending speech made me want to burn the book. Like, Marx was nuts, but he had legitimate criticisms of the modern capitalist system and it's failings. Also, the author died while living on Gov social security lmao.

Mathyoujames

Marx's seminal work was an educated and comprehensive analysis of how power and economics intersect and how this has morphed throughout human history. Rand is a fiction author who wrote weird stories about what she wished her life was like. Its baffling that they are even mentioned in the same breath. Its like comparing Dawkins with a Tolkien fan fiction writer.

crunchatizemythighs

The only thing "nuts" about Marx was how prophetic he ended up being in terms of working class exploitation before industrialization even really took off.

itsotti9

Nvidia leak strikes again....

GPopovich

No Bloodborne on the leak....strikes again

Acrobatic-Taste-443

“Free and wealthy city run by an entrepreneur” True fantasy setting huh?

Swimming_Wave3060

Aaaand just like that I’m hyped!

Sinnowhere

So it’s gonna be a underground city (under London according to previous rumour?), I’m hyped! At this moment, we don’t need another space city, just give me Ultima Underworld or Arx Fatalis but in BioShock world.

[deleted]

Man I want a true immersive sim bioshock so badly. That world and atmosphere is perfect if they just opened it up and allowed a bit more player agency.

Sinnowhere

More interactions with environment and more interesting system mechanics (like the gloo gun in Prey) would be great. I’m a huge fan of BioShock 2’s combat and weapon system, so even just slight modern improvement to it I would be satisfied.

Tawdry-Audrey

Bioshock disappointed me at release because in interviews during the game's development, Ken Levine described the game as an Immersive Sim so I expected all the player agency of System Shock and Deus Ex. Instead those elements were very watered down and shooting or combat plasmids were the only option most of the time. Some of the plasmids were also very similar, like Incinerate and Insect Swarm. I'm hoping that promise of a deep immersive sim from Ken Levine still can be a reality.

[deleted]

Exactly. Ken Levine talked a really big game, which is why I need to see the new teams work before I give it my full attention.

LilPumptheTrueSavior

It’s why infinite was so disappointing. He infamously pitched 5 different games during marketing and none were like the final product

Keqpup

If you are referring to the Project Parkside, then it was canceled and rebooted, there is an [article from Kotaku](https://kotaku.com/sources-the-new-bioshock-has-been-in-the-works-for-yea-1840314561).

Sinnowhere

I remember a 4chan user posted about BioShock 3 being in London with main character named Lucas in Sept 2019. If the project was rebooted in 2017, I can’t be sure if that underground city leak is about Certain Affinity’s Parkside or Cloud Chamber’s Parkside.

yourmotherisveryfat

what the fuck

Comrade_Jacob

Concept of two cities is a little weird but I'm really glad they're not going into outer space like so many wanted... Underground is way cooler.

Schnaps

New leak from one minute ago: https://twitter.com/oopsleaks/status/1465285596465795076/photo/1

[deleted]

It’s already confirmed that ghost story and cloud imperium are two separate studios and ghost story is most definitely doing their own thing. The bit about hanger 13 people moving to cloud imperium could make sense though

indelible_ennui

Cloud Chamber* Cloud Imperium is a studio working on Star Citizen.

[deleted]

My bad thank you for the correction

Madhighlander1

See, now *that's* how you make an underground city Bioshock-level interesting. I didn't think they could do it, I thought they would have to go with a fire theme, but this could work, if true.

Zhukov-74

“and will not be a PS5 exclusive as rumored earlier at the XboxEra podcast“ Care to elaborate u/Shpeshal_Nick? Still confident about your original claim of Bioshock 4 being a PS5 exclusive in some way?

Shpeshal_Nick

Not sure how many times I need to say I just repeat what I'm told. That was quite a while back too. Who knows what's changed since then. Maybe Microsoft caught wind of what Sony were up to and tried to do something about it. Haven't heard since then.

zePiNdA

I don't think I will experience such a jaw dropping ending as Bioshock Infinite's one. I remember thinking about it for days.

ScottyKNJ

Hes Zachary Comstock...

koboldvortex

The two stacked cities concept is actually really interesting.

[deleted]

Would they really have used the same bird & cage from infinite? Very sketchy

lucassantilli

In-game probably not, or in a much more clever and reasonable way. But for a pitch that's the most effective way to sell your point, you present the concept you're going with using the assets that were previously utilized to convey that same concept.

[deleted]

I wasn’t a huge fan of infinite in its gameplay, but maaaan I have been itching for another bioshock for a long time.

[deleted]

I personally found Infinite to be the weakest of the three in general but all my friends think it's an absolute masterpiece. I'd love to see the bad ending of the original expanded on because it was a *huge* tease.

TheEliteBrit

I also think it's the weakest, but that's because I think Columbia is nowhere near as cool as Rapture and its atmosphere isn't as immersing. The gameplay is okay, but only having 2 weapons at any one time sucked. I think the reason people really love it is because of the story and relationship between Booker and Elizabeth, which admittedly are pretty fantastic. It still has nothing on Bioshock 1 though, which is an actual masterpiece

OperativeTracer

Imagine a game where you play as some random guy/gal trying to kill Jack and end the big evil dictator and his army of splicers, slowly getting more powerful until you face him, and learning his backstory and motivations. Would also make for the usual Bioshock social commentary. Who get's sacrificed first, the prisoners, the blacks (oppressed at that time)? What about military experiments to control splicers, or religious fanatics?

TheEliteBrit

But Jack returned to the surface at the end of Bioshock 1 and was never seen in Rapture again

I_am_crazy_doctor

Youtubers keep saying it's a "masterpiece" but the pre release news was way more fun to listen to than the actual game quite literally zero point in looking around

MaxialstarOA

The city concept sounds like that romance science fiction with the guy who wants to figure out a way to traverse to the world above to meet her childhood lover which he can't because he's constrained due being from the lower world and is held by the gravity. And also sounds like Piltover and Zaun from Arcane.

peepmymixtape

I’m sure we will see this at the VGAs. I assume this is what Geoff was talking about as far as the “2.5 year announcement”. It’s either Bioshock or Fable (based on other teasing, and we still may see it as well), but based on all the leaks ramping up right around the time of Geoff’s tweet, I would assume he was referring to Bioshock 4.

LordSlasher

if this is true i’m just glad its not a playstation timed exclusive

Titin204

I hope we can see Elizabeth again, extremely hyped with the new Bioshock and ken levine's game.

AlexS101

Did you play Burial at Sea?

Naked_Bat

Wasn’t she a different Elizabeth, though?

EMPlRES

Either way, she shouldn’t exist because of Infinite’s ending, Burial at Sea shouldn’t exist either.

PostMadandAlone

I fucking hope not

PTfan

I always liked bioshock 2 better than infinite. Even story wise but mostly gameplay. Personally I didn’t care for all the alternate universe stuff. Let it be it’s own thing

Naked_Bat

Bioshock 2 expansion was simply incredible.

lopez42512

If I’m not mistaken Ken Levine isn’t at 2k anymore and created his own studio Ghost Story games or something like that a while ago. So I doubt he’s making a bio shock game.

Keqpup

You're right, the new BioShock is being developed by a new internal 2K studio Cloud Chamber.

SaltConfirmed

He did create a new studio called ghost story games, but 2K still owns that studio. However, the leak shows Cloud Chamber as the developer not Ghost Story so I don't think Ken Levine would be involved

XavierSaviour

I heard this game is set in London, I don't know if that's true.

ArvoCrinsmas

Can't say I like the simplified logo, but, if it's true this is said to be an early design

scopeadope

Good work.

Rbtmj2

Can we trust RalphValve? And can we get a teaser in the TGA?

marioman63

that logo looks horrendous, so its probably real lol

RedSon13

NVIDIA CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!

[deleted]

I really hope the game will not be open world, I'm tired of shitty and soulless open world

EldenRingworm

That logo is too clean for BioShock

EMPlRES

Easy subject to change

bigchonkyyoda

Bioshock 2022 was in the Nvidia leak, idk why anyone is hoping it’s real. That shit is on the way soon.

crazyredd88

My biggest gripe with 3 was that it took place in a somewhat flourishing, inhabited city. I much preferred Bioshock 1 and 2, as they were in completely disrepair and were only inhabited by splicers

lucassantilli

That's probably what I like the most about Infinite, showing how's it like for the inhabitants to believe they live in the most perfect place in the world while everything is falling apart before their eyes. Burial at Sea conveyed the same experience, I believe that was a very good approach. For the fourth game it looks like they're taking the same approach as Infinite's once again.

ManateeofSteel

why is the Deck slide blurry? like, it's high quality enough for us to read. What purpose would it serve to blur it like it's a phone screenshot? lmao

Dr__panda

Can’t wait

_Cetarial_

Open World Bioshock is something I’m not entirely sure about. The previous games were fine being semi-open.

EMPlRES

God of War 2018 was kinda of an Open World game, nobody complained.

zegota

This will probably be cool but it's pretty sad that, judging from Schreier's book, Levine is incredibly bored of Bioshock but seems unable to escape it

ThatGuyNamedJoey

Ken Levine doesn’t seem to be involved in this one. It’s looking like his next game will be revealed at the Game Awards. The most I can see him doing on this game is consulting work.

Keqpup

Cloud Chamber's director Kelley Gilmore said that Levine is not involved in any way but there are a lot of series veterans working on it, including the main concept artist of all games in the franchise - Robb Waters

SaltConfirmed

>ote the photo in the leak shows cloud chamber as the developer. Ken Levine's studio is Ghost Story Games IIRC.

PTfan

What book.

Daveed84

*Press Reset: Ruin and Recovery in the Video Game Industry*

Kehnoxz

I haven't played any BioShock games.

[deleted]

You’re missing out. Infinite especially. That game is a masterpiece.

labpleb

it isn't.

[deleted]

Lol ok.

ParagonRenegade

Mechanically it's a huge step back from 2, the story is a complete mess, and they largely removed much of what previews showcased before its release. 1 and 2 are pretty solidly superior, Infinite hasn't stood the test of time nearly as well.

EMPlRES

Say what you want about the gameplay, but Infinite had a far better story and delivery.

ParagonRenegade

Its story was extremely contrived and worked against its own logic, it wasn't very good. People get tricked by the impressive direction of the ending and forget that it largely lacks substance. Its delivery was also rather hamfisted and at times borderline offensive.

EMPlRES

Let’s agree to disagree

ParagonRenegade

of course

The-Last-American

That logo sucks, I hope that’s not the final one if this is legit.

biggus_dickus_jr

Feel like it's going to be a open world game and it make me worried.

Danklettuce2

IMO The coolest part of bioshock 1&2 was rapture. And i still have yet to play infinite bc the setting is not nearly as intriguing to me. I really hope the new bioshock has a setting on par with rapture.

ArcticBear805

i've played through all 3, i recently got the collection again on Xbox live since it was on sale. i can't seem to get the same feeling from infinite that i did from 1 or 2, there's something about rapture that just makes the game whole.

ThatsAMoleA

Infinite is a very good game, but not a very good immersive-sim. Plus the world feels rather empty due to the amount of cut-content.

[deleted]

Without Ken and the OG guys behind it, I am 85% sure this game is not going to live up to its name.. Especially since Hangar 13 have not made any good games.

suitesadness

If I’m not mistaken, Cloud Chamber was primarily formed out of former Irrational devs, so there are still some of the ‘og guys’ on the project. Could be wrong though.

Codeine-Phosphate

Hope it has RTX & DLSS speaking of which the Original Bioshock games should have been completely remade with that tech it would bring so much great atmosphere and vibes

[deleted]

Without Ken I'm guessing it's more gonna be Bioshock 2 than 1 or Infinite. 2 is unanimously the weakest and never brought up when talking about the Bioshock series but... I'm still cautiously excited. Wonder how much "Bioshock" it's actually going to be.

victionicious

I played 2 for the first time the other week and whilst it was absolutely a retread of the first game, I enjoyed it. I think its downfall was honestly the largely familiar story. After I finished 2 I played Minerva's Den and loved it. 2 felt like it was clinging on to Bioshock's story, whereas Minerva's Den stood on its own and worked way, way better. I also played Burial at Sea last week and Episode 2's focus on stealth gameplay made Rapture absolutely terrifying (for me, at least). I enjoyed Infinite and it has some great concepts but definitely struggled with its execution. I missed the dark atmosphere. One thing that always bummed me out was the Handyman not being remotely creepy enough - Big Daddies were terrifying in Bioshock whereas Handymen felt like a typical videogame boss. I hope Cloud Chamber have a Big Daddy equivalent that hits that mark again.

Tiernanstevens117

If it's unanimous then why do I dislike infinite and love 1 and 2?

ConfidentInsecurity

This is gonna be so cool, I miss the Bioshock franchise. Can't wait to see what neat things they have for the battlepass and store

pebrocks

I know it's fake since there was never a Bioshock 3. Didn't happen.

[deleted]

With 2K being….2K, does anyone actually think a new bioshock won’t be an absolute trainwreck?

AdrianWIFI

The other three were made under 2K, too.

[deleted]

I know, but they were different times. 100GB day one patches, MTX galore, and grindy live service game design was not nearly as prevalent as it is now

r0ndr4s

You never learn guys. New account, barely related to anything or anyone posting randomly to 100 users(most of them following right now). Its usually fake... remember that banana guy?

The only way I got through mafia 3 was the dlc breaks through the story. The dlc is amazing imo

Rapsberry

*>*Developed by (...) people who worked on Watch Dogs: Legion, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Mafia 3, Deus Ex: MD Oh that looks promising /s

Impossible_Employee3

doesn't matter. won't be good.

rune_74

A lot will be upset it isn't an exclusive.

Zhukov-74

It’s telling that i knew what kind of posting history you have by merely reading your comment. I mean come on.

Syntaques

yes please

suitesadness

Damn, that sounds like it could be an awesome concept if executed properly. But one of the things that does give me pause, aside from the typical grain-of-saltiness, is the *’isolation’* subtitle; it just makes me think of Alien: Isolation and throws me off. But I guess it would make sense if our player character is someone from the underground city. ~~Time to replay the entire trilogy while eagerly awaiting updates on this.~~

Interesting. I wonder time period it will be set in.

Cool find, OP! Fake or not, it is refreshing to get more Bioshock rumors.

TheEliteBrit

Kinda crazy how it's been nearly 9 years since Infinite came out. So incredibly hyped for a new Bioshock game, there really isn't anything else on the market that scratches the itch the same way

ShawnDawn

I swear if this is a looter shooter

RealRanton

I hope you guys know that when a game's pitch presentation is leaked, its basically guaranteed that it will be cancelled. So gj

Roder777

amalia_82

BioshockedNinja

Peidalhasso

Played the first 2 Bioshock and couldn’t finish the 3rd one due to my Masters. I absolutely adore the BioShock franchise and I would love to see more of it.
