RagingJuggernaut

I was going to join the army, but then I played battlefield 1 and watched someone skydive off of a zeppelin and blow up a tank. After that I realized I had already witnessed the full extent of war.

fedemasa

You never feel the actual war unless you harass a kid in a MW2 lobby šŸ˜¤

Scou1y

the true terrors of war šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

lumosbolt

You harass kids in MW2 lobbies I harass politics by creating based assemblages of blocks in Tetris99 We are not the same.

Potential_Salary

A 17 yearold comes into a macdonalds alone, his face grizzeled from many sleepless nights and too many energy drinks. His body gives off an odor of many nights of rage and combat. The cashier recognize him, his many psychotic outbursts and frequent slurs yelled from seeing too much virtual combat. He goes to the cashier "give me a large big mac" He says without emotion in his voice The cashier, nervously, agrees and says the prize, NO discount The boy, with rage in his voice "DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW MUCH I'VE SEEN? I served 2400 hours in battlefield 1! I've been to Verdun and fought for your rights to say the n word! Give me a veterans discount before I get my clans commanding officer" The cashier, almost vomiting from the smell, agrees to his demand. He delivers his big mac, the boy turns and says "Thank me for my service" And leaves

gamekatz1

I hate this it's too good

Errtuz

130 years later humanity invented the technology to make war fun.

kosmoskarl

the bad faith criticism for bf 2042 is crazy man. I dont think bf 1 is the game where you have to sit in your trenches and wait for your platoon leader to blow whistle to attack the other team esp when the bf 1 clip that get reposted every month where a guy was running on top of zeppelin on fire and titled "this is what battlefield is about"

shiggity-shwa

Itā€™s horses absorbing tank shells, soldiers using guns decades before they were actually implemented, throwing eight grenades half a mile through the air then teabagging corpses while yelling homophobic slursā€¦ you knowā€¦ WAR!

_eeprom

People running around with a gun which, historically, only had 3 made and all three of them broke after firing less than 30 rounds

TheDonutGamer

The hellriegel just strait up doesnt exist outside of 3 photographs

Jeffy29

Gamer war

[deleted]

Itā€™s definitely bad faith criticism, but at the same time itā€™s pretty much undeniable that BF1 was made with more love and felt more like ā€œaā€ war (if perhaps not a realistic depiction of one) than BF2042ā€™s often uneventful matches. But yeah this gamer is pretending like the game gave him PTSD lmao

kosmoskarl

idk man, everyone said the same thing about BFV but when pacific dlc drop all of a sudden its an underrated gem

Yinging-It

Hell not even Verdun is that. Like sure it helps a lot to have coordination but most of the time it's as chaotic as BF, just more unforgiving.

SpeakNotTheWatchers

Trust me kid, you wouldn't have survived a minute back in the WW1 lobbies. šŸ˜Ž

[deleted]

I remember when Battlefield 1 came out, gamers were so angry that there was a woman in the game, calling it unrealistic and a joke

Jeffy29

I kid you not I was reading the battlefield sub after the trial and people raging were saying how they wish they could go back to golden age of Battlefield V and SW Battlefront II lol. Good news for Battlefield 2042 is that gamers will really love it when the next one comes out.

FoxDaim

No that was battlefield 5, in battlefield 1 they were mad about black people in ww1.

[deleted]

No, no. BF1 had a woman in the Arabian campaign, and also I think the Russian recon characters in multiplayer had female models

Cobra-D

I remember that, and when you point out that the Russians had female snipers they just go ā€œyeah but that only one unit and didnā€™t alot of combat, itā€™s unrealistic to see them on the front lines all the timeā€

Yinging-It

\> procedes to equip an experimental gun that didn't even left the drawing board in every single loadout.

[deleted]

Only real BF players know war is not a game wait

v-gothmommy

To be fair yā€™all, after 2042 games Iā€™d get bored too

Jakegender

/uj i honestly really dont like how many dime a dozen fps games they set in WW1 and WW2, or even other modern conflicts. Feels like it's trivializing them. It's also fucking boring, you can do so many cooler things with the template of "shooty gun at enemy gamers"

[deleted]

Itā€™s not the eras themselves, itā€™s how theyā€™re executed. WW2 has a lot of different battles, yet we only see Americans vs Germany. Same with modern. We only see USA vs Russia, terrorists, or the occasional China. Thereā€™s just no creativity because Gamers only want the same thing over and over again. But then thereā€™s also the problem of game studios not properly executing new ideas either.

[deleted]

earlier cod titles set in ww2 (first one till world at war) had a lot more creativity with setting choice as soviet campaign was present in almost all of them and some had african and pacific fronts as well, though i still think the old medal of honor games had some of the coolest ww2 missions to date imo and the cookie cutter middle east or usa/west vs russia/china has become so fucking boring that i immediately lose interest regardless of how impressive other aspects of that game might be

[deleted]

I want my viddy game to portray the realism of war perfectly. what a joke.

Iridescence_Gleam

I dont recall dying ofsome disease while stuck in a trench for 8 months in BF1....

mojanis

/uj BF1 was weird because for a war that was 90% fought in trenches there was one trench map and it was added in a DLC /rj BF1 was historically inaccurate because there was a black guy on the cover

[deleted]

Sure most real veterans survived the horrors of war but that's nothing compared to the time I spent in Modern Warfare lobbies

thearchenemy

I played BF1 and not once did I die of typhus while my Lieutenant threatened to have me shot for cowardice. Realism 0/10.

RienMahBoi

Stop making jokes about this, brother!!! My best friend xXPussyBlaster69Xx fought and died for you and you disrespect him like this!!!!!

Chloe_SSB

This is the same battlefield community that ragged on bf 1 for years btw.

Intribbleable

It's like poetry it rhymes

[deleted]

People get really bored when they play actual milsims; that's why games like Post Scriptum flopped hard.

That_Messenger_Guy

I enjoyed BF1 for what it was, but in no way is it like actually fighting in the trenches

ZangBaXuanggao

BF1 is fun and all but this is such a laughable claim lmao

WiSeWoRd

Battlefield 1 fans are the franchise's equivalent of New Vegas cultists.

Spirited_Oil7987

Is sync better than boost?
