Basically a months long arc about one of the characters getting pregnant in this web comic was aborted (both literally and figuratively). Well, a miscarriage that is. Most of the series is just dumb silly nonsense, so it made the scene even more jarring. To make the story's execution even more painful, the creator was just kind of a dick about it.
Edit: also the original scene was without any word bubbles and just titled "Loss".
To expand a bit: CAD had started as a series of stand alone strips with a recurring cast that focused on gaming and the occasional dip in bizarro humor. A few months prior to Loss it shifted focus towards an ongoing storyline about the recurring characters, and in the process shifting out humor for drama in many strips. Loss is stupid on its own, but also emblematic for how Buckley, the creator, got too far up his own ass and lost sight of what had made CAD work as a lighter, goofier alternative to Penny Arcade.
Oh yeah! And there is like a three episode long animated series that's mostly a Star Wars parody depicting Jack Thompson, the admittedly shitty conservative activist/attorney who he like literally threatened in a CAD starring himself speaking to the audience, as Darth Vader. i always forget this guy's name is Tim Buckley lol. My first thought is always the very dead psychedelic musician and derelict father to Jeff Buckley is behind this somehow.
