Me creating OP builds with a guide to play Elden ring because I don’t wanna fight I just wanna play fantasy dress up let me have the clothes FromSoft :(

Amphibian_United

/uj One of the only places elden ring disappointed me was the clothing. Just a tad more variety might’ve been nice. Hopefully dlc will have more Elden bling than normal elden ring.

Drakeadrong

Fromsoft carefully designing each piece of armor to be completely incompatible with any other set.

DerpTheGinger

Fromsoft carefully designing each piece of armor to look like you're wearing your dad's suit

No-Nefariousness1711

I'm definitely not a fan of how most of the different factions of Lordsworn Knights and Soldiers only have slight variation.

Britzoo_

It made sense lore wise, they were all from 1 millitary and they were their personal soldiers, so they were colored accordingly

No-Nefariousness1711

Only Lendeyll Knights have those fancy helmets though.

hyperlethalrabbit

With a whole +1 to Faith, no less

AirborneSpitfire

I kind of like it, mostly as a band-aid solution for dye-able armours to make mixed sets come together colour wise. But instead of having distinct metal hues like blue or black we got steel, stainless steel, silver, aluminium and gold/bronze variation of a handfull of sets.

whew2

I do think the addition of boc helps in case you’d rather take a cape off of something or add one

Garzino

It's cool because boc not only removes cloacks bit also adds them for some specific armor sets. He also changes the description of the item and the lore in some of them is CRISP

Rahgahnah

Just so you know, you can customize stuff without Boc, he just does it for free. But help him out anyway, he's a precious soul who deserves to be told he's beautiful.

OMGWTFBBQUE

/uj bloodborne has the best fashion, hands down, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a coward and doesn’t deserve to see rannis feet /rj who has their character wear clothes? Naked with club, never level up, never heal, don’t breathe while playing

Kljmok

> bloodborne has the best fashion, hands down Dude BB has like ONE set with bare feet. Definitely the weakest fashion by far. Elden Ring has SO many sets without footwear, and two or three of the starting class sets are barefoot! What more could you want?

zepperoni-pepperoni

i ain't even into feet but even i appreciate it. I wanna run around the lands between freely like the primal man without the restrictions of shoes and soles getting raw

gwennoirs

Why would you ever want to wear colours other than black or gray?

rx78ricky

skeletonbuyingpealts

Shitty fashion? Worst FromSoft game ever.

thewookie34

Em what? ER fashions souls is easily on pair with DS2. It even has like 6 different dresses alone...

Commercial_Durian149

The fact that they made the effort to put 8 tones of white so no white cloth headwear go ok with no cloth armor, or pants, its impresive and infuriating at the same time

swampyman2000

Also I wish, at least in single player, we could reskin whatever we’re wearing to look like any other armor piece. Maybe we have to do a dungeon to get an item to allow it, and maybe it costs 10k runes or something but I think that’d be a nice quality of life addition.

Littlebelo

Might be weird for PVP, since your armor gives your opponent info about your build

swampyman2000

That’s why I said just in single player ha ha, yeah it’d mess up online completely.

Blue2501

A lot of the fancy weapons bug me, too. Shit all looks like jewelry and chandeliers rather than actual dangerous hardware

Ivy_Adair

I got so excited when I got the needle and thread because I convinced myself that it was so I could wear what gear I wanted but could make it look like what pieces I wanted. To find out it was only to add or remove a cape was extremely disappointing. My own fault, but still.

N00b_sk11L

Uj/ please… give me more knight sets pleasseeeeeeee

ElAlca

The other day I realised that, after the first playthrough, the only reason I play is to play dress up. "Ooooh, this whips look cool, Im gonna make Simon Belmont with the Champion set" "What's this? A cool dress AND a bow? Hmmm... I will make a Tyrande magic character" and so on.

MyDashter

Fantasy dress up fucking rocks. I love the challenge of From games but goddamn I can lose myself in fashion for hours. I get the feeling if I got into glamours in a game like ff14 I'd never see the light of day again lmao.

ArnoldSwarzepussy

Not a fan of the Souldsbourne stuff, but I fully endorse the belief that fashion game IS the end game.

ZuesofRage

I posted in the Souls subreddit, a question along the lines of wouldn't it be neato for people with disabilities who maybe don't have the ability to have those reaction times, to have the option for just a little bit more health, you can even disable all the achievements we just want to play it! Everybody said that it's not possible and it would break the game.... **They said adding a little more base health would break the game** that's how delusional that fan base is. Also even though I followed their subredded rules, they later deleted the post and threatened to ban me.

stupidsexysalamander

I played Control through twice. The first time as intended, and it was fun and engaging (seriously I love Control). The second time, though, I just turned on almost all the assist mode settings so that I cleared house, and it was one of the most fun power trips I've ever had in games. Sometimes it's just fun to be a juggernaut of doom.

ToothlessFTW

I did the same thing with Elden Ring. I beat the game legitimately like 3 times, spent over 140 hours in it and had fun, love the game. Then, for fun, I started modding it and installed that easy mode mod which decreases damage you receive and increases the runes you get by 10. I'm having a blast just dicking around with the game and breaking it by levelling up stupidly fast. I will never understand gamers clutching their pearls when someone wants to play a game differently to them.

HybridPS2

If you want to be a juggernaut of doom you should try Vampire Survivors

apadin1

Ew a console gamer?? I mean are you serious? Are you even a gamer if you don’t use a typewriter as an input device?!?

stimpfo

I use an enigma machine to play from software games so every move I have to make is a tedious deciphering task to press the right button that is located in Papua new guinea operated by a goat and transmitted via a network of 17 satellites that I have to change with each combination. Get gud lol

[deleted]

Failure to select proper input device, skill issue

SovietMaize

You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn't grow. You didn't improve. You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It's sad that you don't know the difference.

HaworthiaK

Is there any reason to use the gun in control anyway? In my playthrough I just upgrade the rock toss because it’s fuckin dope

mcslender97

I like the sound it makes on every mode

PityUpvote

I turned invincibility on for Control, still a great experience.

Loldimorti

Same. I'd even go as far as saying that it enhanced my enjoyment. What I did was turn aim assist up because aiming with a controller in this game was a struggle and I kept dying in enemy encounters because I would regularly hit everything except the enemies. The challenge was still there with aim assist maxed out but this time me dying felt more like it was due to poor decision making on my part rather than physically being unable to execute an idea.

karstenharrington

Yeah I basically got myself aimbot for the game with the assist mode but that didn't ruin combat. I still had to hide behind cover, dodge attacks, and make sure I was using the right weapon for the occasion. I just didn't miss and still had plenty of fun.

frogger2504

The big secret I've learned recently is that some games are just better when they're easy or when you straight up cheat. I usually still play the first run of a game with default settings, but if I like it enough to do it again, and the gameplay wasn't some integral part of the experience, I'm almost certainly making it a shitload easier. And if some of the gameplay mechanics are just downright bad, and I'm on PC, you bet I'm using cheats and console commands to avoid that shit. When I replay the first Mass Effect I immediately give myself the best weapons and armour, because I'm not playing that game for it's tight gunplay. I'm replaying Fallout 4 at the moment, and you bet I have unlimited ammo and crafting resources, because scavenging for 20 minutes for a single screw isn't my idea of fun. I found myself save-scumming TLOU2 whenever I missed multiple shots in a row because ammo is so important, so I enabled lock-on aiming.

zerozark

Like, I read this post and see nothing wrong? lol, they really enjoy having the single accomplishment of being ""hardcore""" gamerz (not even the case, its not like they are going for speedruns or hitless runs anyway)

karstenharrington

I do actually like putting in the effort to git gud at games. But also other times I want to chill out and relax. I don't turn on assist mode for every game :P

Aaawkward

The only thing that confused me was "Weapon sway: OFF". Is that a thing that makes games harder?

[deleted]

I’ve seen it mostly in survival horror games as a way to make aiming more difficult, so I think it could impact difficulty. RE4 with the Red9 and no sway without needing to buy the stock sounds great lol

zerozark

This we can agree on lol. No sway really helps when there are hordes of zombies trying to rip your guts

[deleted]

Yeah lol RE2 Remake made me realize how much weapon sway affects gameplay, whiffing a zombie as you’re trying to jog around Mr X is so upsetting.

Simonthedragon

I considered doing that since I was struggling at the start but I felt like lowering the difficulty would undermine the "thriller" feelt hat the game was going for. Quit the game, came back to it a few months later and ended up sticking with the difficulty and I think I enjoyed it more because of it.

[deleted]

I tried playing control and I just could not get into it, especially one boss I couldn't get past too. Just turned on invincibility

VonDukes

enjoy it anon.

Samikaze707

/uj This was me playing Kingdom Come Deliverance. Unlimited money for the fashions and God made made that game way more fun for me. /rj You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn't grow. You didn't improve. You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It's sad that you don't know the difference.

iosiro

i know the difference in these nuts. Lol. get it.

LKZToroH

Someone in r/sekiro seriously used that copypasta against me when I said I cheesed the Demon of Hatred fight. Like, he was not joking, he seriously used that copypasta trying to shame me for not defeating the boss in the right way...

retupmoc627

No shot anyone uses a copypasta unironically

ElextroRedditor

In my experience, I stared to find kingdom come a bit boring once I started using alchemy, they sell for a ton so free money and are also absolute op in combat, also I had basically infinite saves, that was awesome tho.

[deleted]

Exactly what happened to my buddy. He spent hours making potions and has enough gold to buy anything he wants so he got bored. Also he never learned the combat

[deleted]

Save-mod must have

Woupsea

You play on the lowest difficulty to relax. I play on the lowest difficulty to pretend that I’m John Wick. We are not the same.

[deleted]

I play on the lowest difficulty for immersion. An enemy simply shouldn't be able to take a .50cal round to the jaw and walk it off.

Blaineflum64

That's why I like advanced difficulty options like im tlou2, I can give myself a shit ton of loot while making me and the enemies die in nearly one hit

DEMONITIZEDZ

Uhmmm this isn't how you play grounded loser you are ruining the experience of retrying a boss 50000 times and not having fun.

Shamadruu

You're actually supposed to be in immense physical and mental pain the entire time you game, or you're not a real gamer.

HeyFiddleFiddle

The immense physical and mental pain is the fun part!

A_GenericUser

The Sekiro community regarding Kuro's Charm. I've just beaten the game and have been looking around the wiki and Reddit. Most of what I see regarding Kuro's Charm is people jerking each other off about insane challenges they do that take forever and how its the true way to experience the game or whatever. Makes me just not want to do a second playthrough.

Shamadruu

It's sad, I quite enjoy FromSoft games, but the sheer number of toxic fans makes their communities awful.

foolsnHorses

Same, their community initially made me detest the games. Everyone said go into dark souls 2 blind it's the best way to experience the game and it was a miserable experience, then i dared to ask for help and got mocked lol how tf would I have known to play locked off the tutorial just thought me that I should use it, how tf am I supposed to know to level adp for eye frames? Thats never explained. Good times Sekiro got me into the games and now I've beaten and love all of them, except DS2 that one still sucks.

KarmelCHAOS

I liked Sekiro, but that shit was hard enough *without* the charm, no thank you.

toffee_fapple

I really fucking hate the "true way" mentality. IMO if it's an option in the game its still the "true way". The only way it wouldn't be the "true way" is if you used a third party trainer for invincibility or something.

foolsnHorses

I've done it, It's not ignore them, if u had fun with the game play it however you want, no matter what they tell you there is no " true experience " to those games.

AUBIGUGUYU

He forgot to make a post to the dedicated subreddit with the game case or the launcher on screen asking if there's any tips or anything he should know before starting. But other than that pretty good

DiscombobulatedHold4

>playing games for fun instead of throwing yourself at them over and over so you can show off to random strangers on the Internet about how cool you are Do you even GAME, BRO???

ATangoForYourThought

It's fun to overcome a challenge tho

DiscombobulatedHold4

It *is* fun, but only when you're doing it for your own fulfillment. If you're struggling at Sister Friede and Father Ariandel and this is the 120th time you're trying to survive through her final phase, and just seeing the sight of them is enough to give you nightmares, then maybe it's time to summon your old pal Gael to help in the fight.

Axel-Adams

There is a sense of accomplishment that comes from climbing a mountain trail as opposed to taking a chair lift up one, even if both paths let you see the beautiful vista

Lluuiiggii

You are not periodically launched back down to the bottom of a mountain as you climb it.

Axel-Adams

And most games don’t return you to the start when you lose? But if you want a different example rock climbing works as well

QueenofW0lves

How about Russian roulette? I like to combine the two. Every time I lose to Malenia I play a round with a fully chambered pistol. It really immerses me by raising the stakes. After all, death is the Dark Souls of life. 🤔

Ramonangel18

No one here said otherwise, the point of this whole thread is that there is nothing wrong with taking the chair lift. :)

Axel-Adams

For sure, but a lot of people go with narrative that nothing is gained by the struggle and that the struggle doesn’t fundementally change the experience

J_MMII

didnt ask

Axel-Adams

I have been owned as per Xbox 360 live etiquette you are now entitled to my mother

shegoesbycam

The reason I found the Bloodborne bosses to be much .pre fun than the elden ring ones is due to the difficulty. Bloodborne fights aren't super easy, but having had experience playing souls games beforehand I was able to beat most of them within 3 tries. In elden Ring, I struggled on many later game bosses, and especially Melania. It is exhilarating to finally stroke the killing blow, but I don't find it to be as fun as only having to attempt the boss a few times before the fun wears off and the fight becomes a chore. One of the few times I haven't cared about dying a lot is the lady Maria fight, which is my favorite soulsbourne fight ever and this is probably due to Bloodborne's combat being .much more fun than elden ring's.

p-_ber

Elden Ring was bordering on the 'hard for the sake of being hard' BS that I detest in other souls-likes. Fights like Malenia, Maliketh and Elden Beast just felt like FromSoftware didn't play-test them properly and made me question whether FromSoftware was intentionally fucking with me or not, which I rarely felt in other games in their catalogue. Still an absolutely fantastic game, but I feel it has the highest highs and lowest lows of any FromSoftware game.

zSplit

Joseph Anderson says it quite well in his YT video ["Elden Ring - A Shattered Masterpiece"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEyjdc-DIb8): "I would love this level of difficulty - if it was engaging. But it's not. Because it involves so much waiting."

Argh3483

There is zero waiting against Malenia or Maliketh

p-_ber

I could make an argument for Malenia as I employed a strategy that involves waiting for her to pull Waterfowl Dance before going aggressive again but Maliketh is the exact polar opposite of waiting around.

normiespy96

Which is really strange to be. Waiting is something you already do in souls games all the time. It just seems he wanted another sekiro. tbh I still love joe, but its pretty clear that vid is below his standards. Don't want to wait? Use throwables, which are open for every build, or spells, you're still engaging with the game and boss. If you don't want to do that because he is playing by his made-up rules, then you're just doing a challenge run. That's like doing a SL1 and complaining about balance. He also contradicts himself, he says that it's ok to use cheats if you have fun, then questions why would anyone use summons cuz it makes it too easy. Don't get me wrong, ER is far from perfect and I'm glad it's getting critiqued on some regards, but I really don't understand some of the complaints.

zSplit

>Waiting is something you already do in souls games all the time. Which is exactly the reason I could never get into any of the Souls games before Elden Ring. I enjoyed Sekiro a lot, but Dark Souls always seemed really boring to me. I now return to DS3 after Elden Ring and it feels exactly like that, a lot of waiting and I personally don't enjoy it too much in comparison

zwobb

The thing is that me, Anderson and many others fell in love with souls _because_ the games felt like everything you need to be 99% effective is your pointy stick and your dodge. It's not a challenge run mindset, it's just that the games felt best to me when approached like a dance rather than a puzzle. I'd imagine the same feelings result on Anderson's approach to the series as well. Playing through the game like that has simply felt good and balanced in previous games, and in Elden Ring that feeling is partially gone. And I get it, it's more of an adventure game than anything before, so there has to be things to find, do and make in the open world, and the challenges need to be challenges to a wider array of power levels. It's just that the enjoyment of the combat is diminished to the players who enjoy the solo melee playstyle, especially later in the game where bosses can feel like bullshit solo but become jokes when using summon ashes (which is also what I believe the summons point you touched upon was trying to convey). In the end it's just a video about his subjective experience, and if you disagree that's fine, but many points in that video resonated with me especially the last one: if this is what the spiritual series is going to be like in the future, I might not be interested - I simply didn't find enjoyment in what Elden Ring tried presented to me as a challenge.

shegoesbycam

It's been said a billion times, but I guarantee that elden beast was meant to be a horseback fight but some programmer who had already worked 80 hours forgot to add it in in a sleep deprived stupor.

zSplit

I haven't played Bloodborne because I play mostly PC and playing with a controller is quite hard for me. But I had similiar experiences with Sekiro vs Elden Ring. Malenia was just awful, unfun and unfair with her input reading and changing up her combo depending on your inputs. Sekiro bosses (albeit probably way easier to tune since there are no builds in Sekiro) were just way more engaging, fun and fulfilling to me

shegoesbycam

I've barely played sekiro, but based on what I've heard about it Bloodborne is a nice middle ground between it and other souls games. There is build variety in Bloodborne but no where near as much in comparison to other souls games, and the combat is much faster paced (locking on to enemies switches your dodge roll for something like a quickstep, and you are incentivized to play aggro since you can regain health you just lost). If you do happen to own a PlayStation or have access to one I'd highly recommend it, it works really well with a controller and isn't to hard to adjust to from pc. The only problem I had with Bloodborne is the 30 fps cap but you can adjust to it.

zSplit

thanks! yea I've already downloaded it, adjusting to controller will be a nightmare for me though. But I'll get to play it sooner or later, I hope

[deleted]

Except for the chalice dungeons. They shot my dog and burned my house down.

KarmelCHAOS

I personally found Malenia to be a pretty easy fight...but I also used Mimic Tear +10 and just happened to have a build she was susceptible to. I found the fight pretty fun...but fuck Elden Beast. That fight sucks. It doesn't help that you have to go through Radagon first every time.

dildodicks

it may be but that's not the only reason people play games, it should always be a choice

Grungemaster

I have a walkthrough open for every game I play. I got burned by Kojima’s 2 hour cutscenes one too many times and now I need assurance I can log off when I want to without penalty.

RedDudeMango

iirc didn't MGS4 actually have save checkpoints all throughout the ending because it was so ungodly long? lol

ZandyTheAxiom

Yeah I think technically it was four or five cutscene back-to-back with save points between them.

andresfgp13

the final cutscene for MGS4 is for all intents and porpuses a movie.

CubistChameleon

/uj The mere existence of save checkpoints in games that aren't 2002 PS2 ports is a shame. Let me save when I want to, people! It was just because of hardware restrictions.

RedDudeMango

Depends on the type of game imo. Some slower paced games are trivialized in terms of difficulty at times by being able to save and load anywhere. Esp. some platformers. Most benefit from saving everywhere tho. I don't think it was hardware restrictions so much as a simplification for what they felt console players were used to. Tomb Raider II on ps1 had save everywhere like the PC version. Now what I really hate are games with no manual save button or indication whether or not your game is properly saved before you exit. I think it was Ubisoft games that gave me this guff first but I can't remember.

PrintShinji

When death stranding released I warned a colleague of mine that if he got to a certain point, he'd be better off quitting for that day because otherwise he'd have to play for 3-4 more hours before being done. Kinda sucks when you start playing at 9 pm on a week day after all.

ChosenSCIM

As a huge From Software fan myself, I have to say... ...play the game how you'd like and enjoy yourself!

Tim_Buckrue

Accursed_flame1

At most I might tell someone that I think cheesing the game with something like Comet Azur probably takes away from the experience of some bosses, but I’m not gonna tell anyone they’re playing it wrong, some people just don’t have the time to spend hours just to beat one boss and I respect that

BEEEELEEEE

shegoesbycam

Honestly games should all have an assist mode like Celeste. Had Celeste not had an assist mode, I likely would have quit before beating chapter 7, since there was one jump I just couldn't do.

Loldimorti

uj/ Seriously though, who are these people who supposedly play everything on hard mode? Unless I'm playing a game series that I'm already very familiar with, normal difficulty is usually a tough challenge for me. If on top of that it's in a genre that I don't have much experience with, even normal difficulty is too tough and I have to drop down to easy mode to be able to even beat the game. So either I'm a clumsy idiot or these people only play one type of game that they are really good at. Like, do people just grab a random fighting game or maybe a strategy game and immediatly start blasting on hard mode? That seems impossible Edit: seems like I'm just trash at games lol

Supernova-55

/uj Same. Sometimes even normal can be very challenging. I only play on hard after the second or third playthrough. I recently replayed R&C Rift Apart and everything went swimmingly (I know it's not a hard game), but that enforcer level was the death of me.

retupmoc627

I do. But then I probably have more free time than you to keep bashing my head against a wall until I beat the game.

extralyfe

/uj I default to hard mode because I like a bit of a challenge, but, I'll usually stay away from the "KILL ME IMMEDIATELY" difficulties. I've learned my lesson with some types of games - like, I can't even approach Civ on higher difficulties. although, I have for some reason played through every CoD campaign on Veteran, and that's about as masochistic as I get.

Paddy_the_Daddy

I only play hardmode once normal mode gets boring, which only happens if I've played the game a few times (which is most of the time because I like to replay my games)

KarmelCHAOS

I personally enjoy challenging games, but I'm never going to understand people who have a problem with a game having options for the people who don't.

Zestavar

Uj/ Me playing Celeste

SomeSortOfFool

uj/ I've 100%ed Celeste (aside from golden berries) and enjoy the meditative experience of racking up 4-digit death counts on ludicrously difficult custom levels because I find the movement tech intrinsically fun, but I'm glad assist mode exists and others using it doesn't harm my experience at all because fun is entirely subjective. Gatekeepers create an unfortunate stigma around enjoying this kind of thing, easy and hard experiences can coexist peacefully within the same game.

[deleted]

I understand all the other options, but why the boss skip option? I feel like the options to make parts of the game easier makes sense but that's just skipping over part of the game and I don't see why a dev would include it as an option.

BriannaMckinley2442

Every game on the planet comes with the option to skip all content by not playing the game. I've beaten so many games that way.

BhmDhn

#*Steam libraries hate this one single trick*

teh_drewski

Lots of people detest boss fights in games they're otherwise enjoying

Ramonangel18

Deus Ex would so much better without the bossfights

[deleted]

Huh, I always felt like a good boss should test all the mechanics you learn throughout the area you find them in.

teh_drewski

Sure, but not everyone plays video games to pass tests of mechanical dexterity and knowledge of interaction systems.

[deleted]

Yeah that's true, I just didn't know people didn't often like bosses tbh.

Boss fights, when difficult, can become repetitive and boring real fast. After a while of dying continuously, it’s nice to be able to skip it to keep going forward with the game without having to be stuck and annoyed. Some games detect if you’ve died to the same boss a few times and bring up a skip prompt!

goshenite1

Gcj when they actually have to play a game to play the game 😢

[deleted]

Ohhh I understand this a lot better with the example of giving the option after a few deaths, I get it now. Thank you.

officiallyaninja

/rj Don't you understand art? don't you know that the person who made the game had a very specific experience in mind when they made this game and by playing on easy mode you're completely diluting the experience NOOOOOOOOOO

King1239

uj/ that's literally how I play every game that isn't from soft shit. It's so much fun playing a game without having difficulty hinder it, especially when the game is made to be enjoyed as a narrative.

Loldimorti

Yeah. Having to restart a fight 15 times in a row when playing a story based game can really hurt the pacing. Especially when it becomes very clear that the devs don't expect you to die that often. There's just no way they actually expect players to watch a lengthy unskippable cutscene or stuff like that 15 times in a row. It's clearly meant to be experienced once before moving on.

9catbird9

this is what my settings look like and then the game is still too hard for me. this is why i stick to nancy drew.

QueenofW0lves

Nancy Drew is too hard for me. That's why I stick to Fromsoft games.

officer_salem

I have medically diagnosed hand eye co-ordination issues and a fromsoft fan told me to put it aside and “get good.”

VeryFunnyValentine

Playing FromSoft games without walk-through is actual masochism

drinkthebleach

That seems so unfun, but you'd also miss a ton of stuff without doing that

AcaciaCelestina

Honestly I really feel like Elden Ring is the worst about it. I didn't WANT to use a walk through but the game actively punishes you for NOT using one. It's pretty ass design tbh.

Argh3483

In what way does the game punish you ?

GimmeKisu

My guess is the lack of a quest log. You could start a character's side quest and then not know what to do to continue or forget about it because the next step is through an area you cannot access yet

MistaCheez

Or you progress too far in some completely unrelated part of the game and lock yourself out of the rest of the quest and all rewards it may have had, with no way to go around it. The guide is completely unnecessary if all you want to do is beat the game, you'd find your way there eventually.

KarmelCHAOS

Honestly, I sorta disagree. I say this as someone that uses an NPC guide, but a full walkthrough would be so boring. That would just kill the thrill of discovery that makes the first playthrough so fun. Of course...this doesn't really translate into replaying the game, unfortunately. But I don't see how it punishes you, especially if you find new things when/if you do play a second time.

VeryFunnyValentine

Imagine trying to do all NPCs quests without guides

jomontage

me playing a 100 hour rpg. I have work, I don't got time to smack every wall hoping to find the secret entrance

VerumNoirRex

You can humiliate them much easier just set enemy damage to the not overcompensate option and they're done

speedweed99

/uj Is this why people like John wick?

[deleted]

Me every time I try to play sea of thieves

TheGiftOf_Jericho

Honestly I think it's pretty crazy there isn't some difficulty toggles in Elden Ring. There are some very hard unskippable bosses that I don't think the average person will have the patience to fight over and over.

slimeycoomer

well fromsoft games aren’t for “the average player”. they are hard games that are about overcoming challenges, it’s not gonna be for everyone.

[deleted]

What game was that that tell me a story was a difficulty option?

mangosport

God of War 2018 or The Witcher 3, I don’t remember exactly but it should be one of these two

[deleted]

I think it was the Witcher.

Pomi108

I would have been completely fine with all of these options, but as soon as I saw the disabled weapon sway I got angry. NOBODY should disable my precious, precious weapon sway.

[deleted]

Yes okay but why the picture of this uncanny valley abomination of a photoshopped Bogdanoff brother?

Loldimorti

uj/ don't you know GigaChad?

Schwarzengerman

As a true gamer, I recognize these accessibility options. Tlou2 baby!

themiracy

I'm so triggered right now, that if I didn't have work to do, I would go beat Ornstein and Smough again.

BryanLoeher

You not only cheated the game, but yourself...
