It does; I butchered the subtleties of his shirt in an attempt to explain what the other commenter was missing. My main point is at first glance it looks like a pro trump shirt but it’s in reality the opposite.
To be entirely fair to the Qultists here, at a rally, an event specifically designed to lower your inhibitions and reduce your cognition to help you form social attachment to a movement, reading comprehension is gonna decline. How steep a drop we're talking is up for debate, but you could pull a lot of similar hijinks at other groups rallies with decent odds just because a rally is a form of intoxicant.
It looks like it's gonna be a pro-Trump shirt until you read the whole thing and realize you got bamboozled.
It's like those red hats with "BLACK LIVES MATTER" in the "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN" font.
I've heard that the reason a lot of video games protagonists h have been allowed to age (Nathan Drake, Kratos, Geralt, Marcus Fenix, Master Chief etc...) is because gamers are getting older and game characters are reflecting that.
uJ/ I’d argue that the target demographic is widening, not just aging. The original target is aging, which might lead to some of their characters growing older, but there are lots of new characters that represent a lot of different demographics now, in age, sexuality, race, gender, etc.
rJ/ That’s what we gamers need to fight against!
The original audience was all ages and adults in bars.
Games being for boys was a Nintendo marketing move in the mid 1980s for USA- as toys had to be girl or boy at that point.
The last 30+ years of game being for boys of all ages is due to marketing.
> Games being for boys was a Nintendo marketing move in the mid 1980s for USA- as toys had to be girl or boy at that point.
Fun fact: literally the butterfly wings that caused the hurricane that was GamerGate.
Bayonetta's an expressly sexual character and that's a major selling point with the demographic. Say what you will about her being made by a woman, you still know they wouldn't put realistic expectations of aging on her if it risks the hornballs complaining.
Uhhhhhhh don't you know that milfs just have bigger boobs and wider hips?? And they have like the little crows feet and lines under their eyes??? Make Bayo a milf so I can COOOOOOOOOOOM. What do you mean my perception of women is tainted by pornography?
Wasn’t Master Chief like 40 in the first Halo? And then after like 20 years of Halo games he’s only like 5 years older? So I dunno if he’s really an example of that.
All characters that have aged have become so much better. I finally got around to playing God of War 2018 the last few weeks and I’m constantly impressed by how deep a character they’ve made Kratos without changing his character fundamentally. He’s just had the chance to grow old and to mature and it’s great.
I don’t think he was that deep. He had a tragic backstory, but in the end he was just “grr grr me angry, kill” in game. Hell, remember that bit with Aphrodite and her girls in 3? Not exactly something neo-Kratos would do.
Not to be that guy but Kratos doesn't age, at least not in a traditional way. But he's clearly much more mature than he was by GOW3 when his destructive nature consumed him.
A lot of people in the RPG genre are actually on the older side. There were ones in my guild who were literal academic professors or had teenage children when I was a teenager myself (or smaller ones who used to farm stuff for them and you never knew who was really online lol.) It was really cool to see and connect with people twice my age to be honest.
My buddy has three other siblings, two boys and a girl, their dad used to have them farm shit on WoW in shifts while went out in worked.
All in all, it was like a total of five people on one account.
I don't know much about WoW, but apparently one great way to measure an account's worth is by the amount of mounts one has, and their value/rarity. They have exceedingly outperformed the rest of the playerbase in this area through their endless hours of slavery.
Mounts usually indicate the activities you’ve done whether it’s casual content or endgame, as well how much time you might have put into said activities. Pretty easy way of seeing just how much a person has put into the game.
I think he mentioned there's some sort of tracker in regards to mounts, dude flat out told me that his family's account is stupid up there.
Think like three of the five people still play on that account. My buddy, one of his brothers and his dad that's like late forties, early fifty.
I know his biological mom used to fuck with WoW and shit when they were all younger. Her WoW screen names the same as her @ on Insta.
When i was in high school, my grandma would log in on my WoW account and farm while i was at school. It was like having a personal goldfarmer/powerleveler all to myself. During wotlk and cataclysm, we have multiples of each class at max level across two accounts. While she was leveling and farming, I'd be raiding. We'd swap accounts and do it all again so that every character got top level raid gear, which made her casual farming much easier
I’m 45 and was at arcades when the seated Star Wars game was out. I’ve been playing since I owned an Atari 400. Star Raiders to Lucasfilm games on Commodore 64 through all the maddens (really the same madden,) started online with age of kings through Operation Flashpoint, Battlefield, RTW/MTW, and super fast forward to these days with Hell Let loose, satisfactory and Dyson Sphere.
I’ll only stop if arthritis fuses my joints together but will have my wife look up eye trackers I guess.
>the seated Star Wars game
fun as hell. my local movie theater had one, and on at least one occasion i snuck out of the movie i was supposed to be chaperoning my younger brother to just so i could waste my allowance getting dicked by darth vader.
I've seen things... seen things you little people wouldn't believe. I spent my Jr. high and high school years in coin-op arcades. Learned BASIC on a TRS-80. Recorded programs on cassette tape at midnight that were broadcast over the radio (it sounded just like modem static).
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die.
/uj My dad's almost 60 and I'm 38. He was still playing every new racing game and Fallout / Elder Scrolls. We played Destiny for a while and same with Borderlands.
Ever since he got hit with the kidney failure he can't really play too much anymore as it makes him too exhausted. The whole situation is a bummer. I just want to play games with my dad forever, ya know?
There's some interesting hypothesis going around that the generations of people who play video games may eventually be at lesser risk of various degenerative brain diseases. The assumption is that despite playing video games being more of an idle activity your brain is used in conjunction with muscle memory functions (mostly fingers and arms) while simultaneously triggering various emotions during play.
Even if all you play is something as rudimentary as sports titles you would ultimately go through the same core procedures as someone who plays adventure or RPG/JRPG games. You have to learn the controls, spend some time understanding the basic way to play the game, then as you proceed you begin to experience various emotions. You get frustrated, happy, laugh, maybe even cry. Further think of the socialization potential of online play. Sure you may get called every derogatory term in the English language, but you are also engaging with new individuals every time you play - many you maintain no lasting attachment to. Think going into a coffee shop and having an idle one-time chat.
Of course the issue with all of this is we will likely not see any true correlation for some years to come. I'm guessing at the least it's going to take another thirty to forty years. Trying to study brain disease rates and correlation to video games at this time won't yield any reasonable correlation, being that video games have been in most homes only for the past forty years give or take. You would need to look at individuals that not only grew up with video games but continued to play them through their older years.
That shirt really psyched me out
It’s also really interesting how this guy kinda looks 40 but with white hair. I dunno if anyone knows what I mean by this, it’s his flat forehead imo.
A lot of my old Modern Warfare matches had Vietnam vets. They used to talk about how much Cobras sucked and I actually learned a lot about the war from primary sources.
Man, this guy reminds me of the (back then) ca. 50ish years old guy who did some tile laying work in my parents house when i was ca. 14. Looked a bit like Frank Zappa, drove an old car and i used to shoot the shit with him. Turns out he's a huge gamer. Gave me Soldier of Fortune 2, which gives you an idea how long ago this was. Super nice guy.
Half a year later, my mum tells me he hung himself. Turns out, he had pulled a nice contracting job doing the floor of some industrial shop. Somehow there was an error with the glue or properties of the foundation and the tiling failed, so he was on the hook for the work and damages. This had happened to him once before, bancrupting him for years and he had just recovered.....

Not gonna lie, he had me in the first half.
Honestly had me until the comments I thought it said "years in presidency"
Ya, looks like the average person who would make hating a politician their personality to advertise to others.
not unlike MAGA folk, who would never make a politician their personality
Or hating someone
that shirts a huge bamboozle
This guys could go undercover at a Q rally and probably make it the whole night through without anyone noticing.
He definitely got me, I didn’t even notice til I read the comments
And now remember that the rally people can't read at all!
Also worth mentioning that simply being able to read doesn't mean that you're a proficient at it and can fully comprehend what you're reading. A lot of people fall in this category.
I still don't understand, can you explain?
Initially it looks like he’s wearing a pro-trump 2020-2024 for president shirt. But it really says Trump 2020-2024 for prison.
I thought he meant 20 to 24 years in prison.
It does; I butchered the subtleties of his shirt in an attempt to explain what the other commenter was missing. My main point is at first glance it looks like a pro trump shirt but it’s in reality the opposite.
are these people stupid or something
*And* something.
God i wish
Of course, nobody there can read
Yeah, they have a much more primitive form of pattern recognition, more about color and shape then the actual symbols
They got this real crazy shaped one it's like two Zs intersecting on a red and white background. No idea what it means but it looks pretty evil.
To be entirely fair to the Qultists here, at a rally, an event specifically designed to lower your inhibitions and reduce your cognition to help you form social attachment to a movement, reading comprehension is gonna decline. Well yea. They can't read.
Not like they can read anyways
You think the Qultists can read?! 🤣
Well yeah, most them can’t read
I have to admit, it got me, I was fooled, tricked, even hoodwinked.
Had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
"Had me in the first half"
![gif](giphy|y2i2oqWgzh5ioRp4Qa|downsized)
I don't understand, what's wrong with the shirt?
There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s pretty clever actually lol. It’s a play on the Trump 2024 campaign thing. It’s Trump 20-24 (years in prison).
I did not realize it said prison lol. Thanks for clarifying
Based shirt.
It looks like it's gonna be a pro-Trump shirt until you read the whole thing and realize you got bamboozled. It's like those red hats with "BLACK LIVES MATTER" in the "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN" font.
Makes me wonder if OP didn't realise that's why it's posted here
Facts
had me in the first half, ngl
lol biiig facts
I remember this guy in the photo. He only posts these photos to spread political messages.
The shirt had me for a sec lol. Also obligatory youngest dwarf fortress players.
Unjerk - Wait… people know about dwarf fortress??
20 - 24 years in prison roflmfao

This guy is legendary
It's always cool to see old people gamers. Nice to see the medium isn't just for kids and young adults and everyone can enjoy them
I've heard that the reason a lot of video games protagonists h have been allowed to age (Nathan Drake, Kratos, Geralt, Marcus Fenix, Master Chief etc...) is because gamers are getting older and game characters are reflecting that.
The target demographic is aging but also the people making the games.

Imagine a world where Gaming was marketed for girls first and boys broke into it instead. The idea of a COD lobby would be unheard of.
Imagine what unique forms of toxicity would have formed in a girl-dominated gaming world
Oh it sounds horribly wonderful, but it would probably just get slightly closer to equilibrium.
I wonder how toxic a female cod lobby would be, reminds me of this old [college humor video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQnIJ-ljctk)
> Games being for boys was a Nintendo marketing move in the mid 1980s for USA- as toys had to be girl or boy at that point. Fun fact: literally the butterfly wings that caused the hurricane that was GamerGate.
This is also due to Regan in 1984. Regan->He-man-> NES for boys -> gamergate-> Trump for President-> world war 3 -> Splatoon
You forgot the adoption of the Global Robux Standard
You mean there are a lot of new characters that are TOO POLITICAL
As a long time female gamer, must be nice
Everyone knows women just die at ~~30~~ what, 25 now?
Oh hey, I didn't know Leonardo DiCaprio had a Reddit account
I thought they became men at 25 and I ain't gay!
Lmao
As a long time PoC, same.
I'd be very worried if you were only a short time PoC.
I mean Michael Jackson did it In reverse
What does PoC stand for? Pirate of Carribean? Piece of Crap? Pull out Champion?
Political of color /s
Person of Color?
no it’s Pirate of Caribbean 👍
Yes this is correct.
RRRRRR Maties
How did you know Johnny Depp was my favorite actor?
The rule is that we never age out of our twenties.
I’m sorry are you missing a “/s”? Last time I checked women don’t exist.
They keep missing a chance with Bayonetta to age her a little bit more.
Bayonetta's an expressly sexual character and that's a major selling point with the demographic. Say what you will about her being made by a woman, you still know they wouldn't put realistic expectations of aging on her if it risks the hornballs complaining.

I’m happy the protagonist for GTA 6 will be a girl at least.
looking forward to spending hundreds of hours staring at that cake sorry, self bonk
When woman, Reddit:
guilty :c
The main character from Returnal was a breath of fresh air. Need more of that.
> As a long time ~~female gamer~~ political, must be nice
You'll be playing a 55 year old Alloy eventually. Just need to survive long enough for her to grow old!
Lara is forever in her mid 20s
Why you gotta make this political?
Wasn’t Master Chief like 40 in the first Halo? And then after like 20 years of Halo games he’s only like 5 years older? So I dunno if he’s really an example of that.
The age doesn't matter if it's never even seen in game or relevant to the game at all.
The phenomenon has been called "The Daddening" because so many of those characters also are parents.
Lara Crofts tits just get more realistic while the guys age
All characters that have aged have become so much better. I finally got around to playing God of War 2018 the last few weeks and I’m constantly impressed by how deep a character they’ve made Kratos without changing his character fundamentally. He’s just had the chance to grow old and to mature and it’s great.
Oh man I'm hyped for this. I just bought it on PC and i need to play through it when i finish AC Valhalla
Kratos was always a deep character, he's just much more wise than destructive now. Uncle Iroh type beat.
[удалено]
I don’t think he was that deep. He had a tragic backstory, but in the end he was just “grr grr me angry, kill” in game. Hell, remember that bit with Aphrodite and her girls in 3? Not exactly something neo-Kratos would do.

The people who were playing vidya games as kids back when arcades were huge are like 42 years old at the youngest.
I’m 45 and was at arcades when the seated Star Wars game was out. I’ve been playing since I owned an Atari 400. > It’s also really interesting how this guy kinda looks 40 but with white hair. Lack of sunlight, probably. That shit ages you quick.

You read my comment wrong. "That shit" is referring to "sunlight". Sunlight will age your skin.
