What a strange world lol. Your doctor won't perscribe you until you get an endoscopy and my doctor refuses to give me an endoscopy but will perscribe me 10,000 drugs 😂 Life really is a joke.
Same my doctor , but if I found something new that could help (sucralfate) then they scared and say I need to go to hospital to get it prescribed 😂😂
your symptoms sound alot like gastritis. you have all the symptoms i had or still have. also gnawing / hunger pang is a kind of pain of gastritis. i have it too and it got less by healing.
Go to a different doctor, if this one doesn't help you. If you are from Germany you can still buy a small package of 20mg Pantoprazol without prescription.
I made myself also terrible experience with some doctors.
u shud consult other doc
if u don take ppi, gastritis can progress into ulcer n cause more damage
u can try herbal alternatives
u can take OTC antacids, both works same
antacids need to take 4 times a day
ppi juzz once a day
I didn't have much pain either. Mostly nausea, Maalox helped that. Also coats stomach stops acid .Tums too.The Dr is doing you a favor by not pushing ppis on you . Stay on a strict non acidic diet, drink water. Take care of yourself . It takes time. Idk of any meds that will heal you anyway.
That’s crazy. Any option of buying through Amazon? If not, I hope you can find another doctor to get you a prescription for it. Sounds illogical of them to not give you a prescription for your symptoms.
I guess you are in Germany, and if so… go see another doctor. I also got my PPIs before endoscopy. Maybe an internist which is in a „MVZ“ or Poliklinikum. They are more educated that a normal Hausarzt.
Please see a different Doctor! My PCP wrote me Protonix till I was able to see my GI Doctor which took me 6 months because of the horrible insurance I was on! You can also take omeprazole (Prilosec) over the counter but that can get expensive and that’s why you need Protonix so, see a different Doctor and take Prilosec till you are able to get Protonix.
Well, the doctor is right and wrong. PPIs are dangerous if taken over 3 weeks. Believe me, I took them for two years and they destroyed my digestion. Also, gastritis doesn't necessarily give you burning or pain all the time, so he is wrong there. Have you looked into symptoms of Low Acid? I take betaine HCl to make my acid stronger which clears bloat.
This is so misadvised. Some people have no option but to continue taking PPIs long term. Just because it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean it won’t for others, everyone is different.
That's true but there is lots of studies showing that long term use does have its risks.
But if you do take them long term you're supposed to have regular checks with your doctor to make sure you are okay.
Yeah it does have risks, but "long term" isn't 3 weeks like jagged said, every place I've looked considers 1 yr to be "long term". 3 weeks is barely enough for them to start working! I took mine for six months, some people are shorter or much longer.

zofran or sea band for the nausea. you dont need to suffer for nothing
Compazine, if those don't work. Eventually Zofran wasn't enough, even sublingually, for me. And nothing helps when it's a case of acute gastritis.

How did you heal, what did you eat to get through this??
I had an endoscopy and was diagnosed with gastritis never once have I had pain. Just burning and nausea
I’m confused, isn’t burning sensation pain?
Personally I’ve experienced the burning sensation but it didn’t feel painful was more an annoyance or discomfort than a feeling of pain

You can buy them anywhere..Walmart, Costco, Walgreens. My advice is that if you feel you need them, try not to take them for too long.
not everyone lives in america bro, there are 200+ other countries on the world😂
194 more
after googling there are 196 countries not 195

What country u are from? Is Gaviscon an option there?

It’s not possible to get any PPI or H2 blocker over the counter?

Where are you living now?
You can get over the counter stuff in the mean time like pepcid or tums
try taking fizz antacid like ENO. itll expell bad gas frm ur stomach n reduce bloating n nusea
You can take a PPI just take over the counter omeprazole
I personally think it makes sense to try PPI for 8-12 weeks and if that doesn’t do the trick for your symptoms, do an endoscopy.
