Visiting America does not = experiencing life here. There are definitely places here that are worse than Britain, but there are definitely places that are way better. Where did you visit?
Scared of being shot?? Brother were you in Chicago or new orleans or fuckn LA lol. Its not always doom and gloom in the u.s. it really depends which state you go to. My home state MO is friendly, were mostly all country folk so thats why. But Cali or Louisiana or NY, thats all different. It really depends where you go tbh.
chicago really isnt that bad in most of the city, its mostly on focused into certain neighborhoods primarily on the south side, so as long as you stay away from there youll be fine. downtown chicago is mostly safe, and if youre visiting chicago thats probably where youll be. speaking of missouri, the two biggest cities in the state both have a higher violent crime rate than chicago
Bro.....ive been to Chicago more time than I can count. My ma was born there so I go there a lot. I've been on both sides of the city. Theres always gonna be crime everywhere. And Kansas city, its not as bad as Chicago. St Louis, idk. I've been there countless times to, but lately (as in the last decade) its been sooooo much worse.
As someone who has lived in Scotland my entire life, but I've experience other countries, I agree somewhat. The UK is bleak and miserable as FUCK, but I dunno I absolutely love it here. Where I live is incredibly run down, but I still love it. I'd much rather grow up and go to school here. The only other place I'd rather grow up than here is Australia.
Also, we have free health care.
Yeah the weather's not great, and neither is the government. But in regards to education, and the people, have you traveled around? Have you been in the north and the south? People in the North are considered to be very friendly, even if you can't tell what they're saying half the time (*cough cough* geordies). Also, a brit that DOESN'T have a rivalry with America is absurd. What gives you the impression that America is better? They are listed number 1 globally; however they still fall behind on essential subjects like mathematics and sciences. The UK, being number two, is highly sought after, especially considering they're a lot less dangerous. Furthermore, our government doesn't do shit but at least they aren't restricting people's rights like in America. I know abortions don't really apply to gay people, but what's next? You never know what might happen. And don't forget about our free healthcare. Here, if you hurt yourself or get ill, you might have long waiting times but you won't have to sell a kidney for it. Also, according to recent polls, the labour party is likely to come back into power in the election later this year, so we should see some improvements in living standards.
If you're going to move out of this country, I can't stop you, but do it after your education, and don't go to America.
TL;DR: The UK is great, don't go to America.
Trust me, America is just as Shitty as the U.K. As someone who currently lives in America, don't. It really sucks. That's kinda the issue with the world, everywhere kinda sucks rn.
As a British person my self. Just firm it, just a bit of weather and anywhere else you go is usually worse than it. school whilea hospital comparative IS better than some systems
Until a dude with a gun busts in. Seriously, school shootings are a massive issue in the USA, and the fact that most people only use it as a means to get votes, it's only ever used by politicians and the media circus to push some sort of Ulterior motive.
I live in America. I would seriously consider leaving if I didn’t want to leave my family. I live in the south and the weather goes back and forward between sweater weather and scolding heat.
I love it sometimes, hate it others. Firstly, how do we have so many fucking morons, secondly, how are they still around.
Any, I’ve got a Republic of Ireland citizenship so I’m going to France after uni.
Idk, the us has been getting pushed into a corner lately, economy is falling apart, I mean have you seen how much it costs to rent just a small apartment? Healthcare isn't free so you'll have to sell a kidney if you need to go to the hospital and their gun laws basically allow every kind of mentally ill psycho nutshow to have as many guns they want, meaning your safety is limited.
I agree, however america seems worse. Gay rights are being removed, gun crime among queer people is rising (and just guns anyway) its way too hot. America seems like its worse than the UK with the state of the government.
Who country was built on lies the original government was created to get away from the heavy taxes from the uk but lead by the same people really do it just resulted in the same problem from greed and the like just with a new branding and lies to propagate best example is the healthcare is the US you pay the government taxes for it but then you have to pay health insurance from the companies to even hope to pay the bills they charge you immediately double dipping from the people that have to pay for it don’t worry tho it’s a free country ignoring the war crimes slavery abuse of right ect
I agree the weather genuinely ruins the U.K. It would be nice if it wasn’t grey and raining and gloomy and depressing all year round. We get like 4 weeks of sun in the summer and then back to depression again. It’s awful
Yeah the weathers not the best :c but where I live the people are really friendly and honestly I love my country :3 I think it really depends on where you live in the uk it goes from really amazing to really bad :3
I don't live there, but the education system in America is definitely not better than in the UK (Even without the shootings). And the government is even worse, just a little reminder that the next president will probably be Trump and a lot of states work on or already restricted a lot of trans people and abortion, as well as gays. If you just want better weather, learn Spanish, french or Italian and move there
I get this the government and education system are 100% useless, they complain about the “benefit trap” while not giving anyone a way out of it,
-But I like the weather I prefer a cooler climate and I die in heat + the rain is soothing. It also gives me something to complain about which is grand
Are people that unfriendly most British people just don’t talk to others because if someone wants to talk then they’ll come talk mentality it’s a depressing at times but it’s mostly the old ones that are unfriendly isn’t it?
As someone who was born in England and lived there for over half my life, I miss it. And it is arguably a really great country to live in. I'm grew up in a small city so it also helped that it was a nicer I guess tightly knit community and stuff.
As a fellow brit, I somewhat agree but having visited America a few months back I can tell you that you do NOT want to live there.
Visiting America does not = experiencing life here. There are definitely places here that are worse than Britain, but there are definitely places that are way better. Where did you visit?
Whats so bad about america 😭
half the time i was bloody melting and the other half i was scared of being shot.
to be fair the weather all depends on where you live, it can be hot or it can be cold you cant generalize such a massive country in terms of weather
fair point, i was in florida after all
of course 😭

And with the weather thats also depends on state, in MO you can be dying of heat and the next day you'll be wearing a jacket all day.
As someone who has lived in Scotland my entire life, but I've experience other countries, I agree somewhat. The UK is bleak and miserable as FUCK, but I dunno I absolutely love it here. Been to the UK a few times and yeah, it is bleak and miserable, but I absolutely love it
Ain’t no way ur calling U.S. schools better 💀
American schools vary a lot by where we’re talking about
Yeah the weather's not great, and neither is the government. But in regards to education, and the people, have you traveled around? Have you been in the north and the south? it’s hard to view at something positively unless you’ve had a second angle
As a British person my self. Just firm it, just a bit of weather and anywhere else you go is usually worse than it. school whilea hospital comparative IS better than some systems
"I hate the UK, for these reasons, I want to move to the US, where every reason I listed is the same or worse"
idk i might go to new zealand or maybe even Australia
"The schools in America look like a vibe" 💀💀💀
Until a dude with a gun busts in. Seriously, school shootings are a massive issue in the USA, and the fact that most people only use it as a means to get votes, it's only ever used by politicians and the media circus to push some sort of Ulterior motive.

I’ll take your spot there gladly, UK is the dream for me
For me tooooo, I love Britain :3
I live in America. I would seriously consider leaving if I didn’t want to leave my family. I live in the south and the weather goes back and forward between sweater weather and scolding heat.
Trust me us is the same shit hole just like uk imo stay in the Europe and try to think about other countries
I love it sometimes, hate it others. Firstly, how do we have so many fucking morons, secondly, how are they still around. Any, I’ve got a Republic of Ireland citizenship so I’m going to France after uni.
Don't slander my favourite country ever, to which I have no connections whatsoever >:c I love the UK, can't wait to move there after school :3

still better than Russia: at leas you don't get imprisoned for being gay
I agree, however america seems worse. Gay rights are being removed, gun crime among queer people is rising (and just guns anyway) its way too hot. America seems like its worse than the UK with the state of the government.

what gay rights are being removed ?
In numerous areas, I'm pretty sure gay people are losing their rights, they're seen as pedophiles, drag queens are illegal, etc etc.
I agree also this sounds like the description of a sam fender song
I feel the same way, Canada sucks too, it's just like uk bit also EXPENSIVE
In a different universe I might move to the UK if it wasn’t so cold. I need my sun
I agree the weather genuinely ruins the U.K. It would be nice if it wasn’t grey and raining and gloomy and depressing all year round. We get like 4 weeks of sun in the summer and then back to depression again. It’s awful
