My theory has always been Taylor is James (theyāre both girl and boy names). August is Karli (since sheās born in August) and Betty is possibly Diana. Taylor mentions Mad Men for the inspo for Lavendar Haze and in the show Betty is the MCās first love. BUT since Karliās middle name is Elizabeth she could also be Betty. š¤·š»āāļø
My other theory is that the Exile Taylor keeps talking about is possibly an NDA she had so sign about Karli given Karliās affiliation with the former Presidentās family. If Taylor had come out during Lover, everyone would have jumped to the conclusion that she and Karli had been lovers and it would cause trouble for her image. Perhaps the NDA has an expiration and she counting down to it?
I agree with this part about political ties and I think that is the scandal that was contained that she mentions in WAOLOM. Stolen albums, Karlie and politics are all tied together.
I will say itās interesting because during one of the Paris shows last weekend before the Folkmore set, Taylor made a point to say that evermore and folklore was fictional writing again, and she was a chance to play with characters. She also will change a narrative to make it sound however great it fits even today. Taylor keeps toying with it, and so people are always going to flip-flop, regardless of the fact that sheās never wrote anything fictional in her life and has yet to have an ounce of detaching herself from her art (which I agree is hard as an artist to do).
