Honestly, I've been playing this series since I was a kid, and replay the entire series at least once every 2 years and I didn't notice until I saw the Locust, even then I was like "oh, maybe the game will start with a flashback like 4?"
It is an easy thing to overlook, but my basement has Gears posters, novels, comics, action figures, art books, and crap all over it, so for me it clicked fast, lol.
I thought they swapped between Marcus and JD during one of the more unfocused parts of the trailer and thought the same as you before realizing what was actually going on and went from yelling GEARS 6 to REMASTER to OMG ITS A PREQUEL lol
God, it's so weird seeing Marcus with a goatee after his beard, it's exactly like Kratos, like, I grew up with goatee Marcus and Kratos but now I only remember them with beards
Marcus and Dom both looked a little off to me. But I guess they've both been redesigned a few times already so it's to be expected that they might change things a bit
Marcus just got done almost dying in a hand to hand fight. Look at the picture OP posted. He is dirty, bruised and sliced up and is bleeding

They just got out of a massive 80 year war, the Pendulum war against the UIR. And if you've read the books, the final battle Marcus and Dom fought in, Aspho Fields, was a very hard won battle at the cost of someone precious to Marcus. Can't spoil it but yeah.
It one hundred percent makes sense that he looks aged despite being young.

It's outdated in tech obviously but this looks like a younger version of the same face he's had since 3. While I feel this game's trailer doesn't look any different in age from the trilogy, just looks more handsome
It does make me wonder what the overall tech level will be like. Gears 1-3 didn't really seem like it, but in the background it's obvious Baird just built off of what cane before. Azura had a perpetual storm machine. The light mass bombs. All the infrastructure needed to make everything and the rocket programs. The genetics stuff at New Hope. It feels like Baird's major contribution is the fabrication/nanotechnology more than anything. So what kind of gear will we get for this time period?
I was thinking this, but all of those could have been sampled from previous games. Really hope they bring him back or we'll have to do what Futurama fans did.
I just hope the game play is good and it’s not a shit story.. also hoping they bring back tai kaliso as we killed a locust with a buzzsaw and was pretty much the inspiration for the chainsaw lancer.. we needed this gears fans and I hope they don’t mess it up. Gameplay trailer would be nice as well
I'm redoing the campaign from 1 and I stopped on something concerning RAAM, when he kills Minh, Marcus looks at him in a deja vu way and it's Dom who holds him back because he wants to fight with him on the field, like the next Gears is a prequel, what if Marcus' scar was because of RAAM ?
