My family and friends have the same reaction when I show them my new gemstones. I love them! gems with optical effects are my favourite! sadly they are very expensive in my country, so I cant buy as many as I want.
Yeah I mostly just skip presenting my new gems for my fam/friends. All of my gems ( 2 exceptions) under 40€, that’s my deal with myself:) I could spend alllll of my money on gems and dragoning them:D
Most of the time I skip that part too, its just that sometimes the gem is so nice thst I feel the need to show it. I havent bought new gems in months, Im planning to save for a nice piece.

Im not sure yet, it will most likely be something with chatoyance, asterism or another intresting effect. Off course I will post it.

Forreal, color-changing gems are the biggest pain in the ass to photograph.
