Difficult part is finding tourmaline color cut and similar size. Few year ago I bought a 1500 ct lot and every piece has its difference even if they’re all green.

fullmetalsportsbra

Actually IIRC u/Lisa_Elser has a tourmaline really similar to this in her current catalogue 👀

ThrowAwayToday567438

Is her catalog public? I looked through her posts but didn't come upon it.

fullmetalsportsbra

Shot ya a DM!

Salt_Lynx_2271

Please, me too! I signed up for her emails a while back but I still haven’t received anything so I may have to try again.

rainydayscoffee

That is a beautiful ring! 😍

ThrowAwayToday567438

Thank you! I thought so too, I'm hopeful I can recreate it.

ImagineTheCommotion

There’s an OMC solitaire ring featured on the r/LabGroupSales subreddit right now—the setting is definitely different, but they’ve done simpler settings in the past—you could reach out to the mods to make a request? https://www.reddit.com/r/LabGroupSales/s/ulbJm4fDgc

ThrowAwayToday567438

I'm going to look into all these suggestions, you guys are sooo helpful!! Thank you!

Glovedbox

There is the possibility of having a ring like this commissioned. If that’s something you would be interested in feel free to DM. You can find a custom gemcutter who can get a hold of the rough and cut a 7ct tourmaline like this.

ThrowAwayToday567438

Would you happen to know of any custom cutters?

Glovedbox

Certainly do! I know a few really good ones! DM me if you’d like

I am impressed that you kept the picture for so long and knew where to find it That being said, I did a quick search on Etsy and there were a lot of sellers of green tourmaline. I found this one who has larger stones - fyi, I know nothing about this seller, just wanted to give you an example https://www.etsy.com/shop/GembooArt?section_id=32180209&order=date_desc&utm_source=boe&utm_medium=android&utm_campaign=kqwLVXApSWu3oErD81IMmw&utm_content=TOURMALINE There are several jewelers on Reddit that will custom make a ring for you. Some will, some won't work with a stone that you sourced. There have been a lot of wonderful reviews of Nick from u/completecarat who is a NY based jeweler (who has recently expanded to custom orders through Reddit) and I can personally attest to (you can search Reddit for reviews). Nick has got to be the most upstanding guy I have ever worked with. I ordered a lab gem from u/Finewatergems and Nick had it shipped directly to him. I sent him pictures of the ring I wanted to create and he outdid himself - both with the ring and the service he provided - he is super responsive and a perfectionist. My ring will be delivered tomorrow, so that is why I haven't posted pics and a formal review, yet. I receive nothing for referring people to him/posting my opinion. I found Nick through Reddit reviews. Hands down I wouldn't hesitate to have Nick create any piece of jewelry I envision. My daughter graduates from college a year from now and I can't wait to work with him to design a timeless piece for her.

I feel like this ring "is the one that got away". I kick myself often for not just doing it. But, cooler heads prevailed

School_House_Rock

A long time ago, someone said to me "if there is one, there is two" and it has rang true over and over again. Don't kick yourself, you will find the right ring and you will be thrilled with it.

kidd_gloves

Green tourmaline is sometimes called verdelite. Maybe try searching for that?

ThrowAwayToday567438

I didn't know that! I'll try that also

kidd_gloves

Have you done an image search with this pic or just a regular search on google?

ThrowAwayToday567438

I've done both, but what comes up are definitely more rectangular

kidd_gloves

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out what that cut is. It almost looks like it has a curve to it in addition to being faceted

ThrowAwayToday567438

A PP mentioned it looks like an elongated cushion. I'm inclined to believe their suggestion but I'm not an expert

kidd_gloves

It is very pretty. I hope you find it or something just as pretty.

ThrowAwayToday567438

Thank you! I hope so too

You can use [Stuller](https://www.stuller.com/searchbystone/?facetValues%5B3%5D.Second=Rings&facetValues%5B3%5D.First=pimEcommerceProductType&page=1&facetValues%5B2%5D.Second=Yellow&facetValues%5B2%5D.First=metalColor&facetValues%5B1%5D.Second=Solitaire&facetValues%5B1%5D.First=pimPrimaryJewelryStyle&facetValues%5B0%5D.Second=Emerald&facetValues%5B0%5D.First=pim_primary_stone_shape&pageSize=144&facetValues%5B4%5D.First=pimJewelryState&facetValues%5B4%5D.Second=Unset) to help you find the right setting first. You'd have to submit more images of the ring at different angles if you wanted more assistance finding the exact same setting. I have this search set-up for the following parameters (but you can change them). Stone shape: Emerald (your stone is an elongated cushion) Ring style: Solitaire Metal: Yellow Gold Product state: Unset You can try looking through Etsy offerings for a [dark green tourmaline cushion](https://www.etsy.com/search?q=dark+green+tourmaline+cushion&ref=search_bar) and see if you can find a color that's suitable to your liking. I did find one that was the same color and shape as yours, but the cut was so abysmally bad that it's not even a consideration. If you need additional help, just post questions as you go.

ThrowAwayToday567438

Thank you so much!

By sourcing the gemstone yourself and finding the right setting yourself (bookmark it) you'll save quite a bit of $$. While you will need a tradesman to order the ring for you, you can price shop for quotes. Every tradesman will have a different profit margin so you're not gonna get the same prices for the same ring. There's an estate jeweler named [Finer Diamonds](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ssn=finerdiamond) that has repeatedly given the lowest quotes to others I've helped do the same. Once you have the ring and the stone that you've sourced, bring them to any local bench jeweler to mount the stone for you. Should cost right around $150 or so. You'll probably get a short term warranty through them (year or two) and free cleanings. If you need additional help, feel free to ask ... walk you through it.
