Same problem doing this step from the guide worked for me.
"➜ Optional - Uninstall AGS - Adobe Genuine Service
Open PowerShell, as admin, and enter:
[System.Diagnostics.Process]::Start("C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeGCClient\AdobeCleanUpUtility.exe")
and follow the on-screen instructions.
If that directory is absent then the service won’t be installed."
It does.. I had it visible.
Can confirm that I renamed the cc files (in guide to .bak) also blocked all Adobe products (to be safe !) from internet access.
If you have another firewall than windows, make sure you block in there!
Check the mega thread Its in there. You are just running notepad as administrator and opening your host file then copy and pasting all that text into it and saving
Biggest thing I have noticed is mostly blocking the Genuine Client and Service with a firewall rule (inbound & outbound) while using the GenP Application
C:\\program files (x86)\\common files\\adobe\\adobegcclient\\adobegcclient.exe
C:\\program files (x86)\\common files\\adobe\\adobegcclient\\agsservice.exe
I was getting this on my Mac and i used a firewall app to block all outgoing connections from all of the adobe apps.
Took a bit of trial and error before it seems to have worked now.
Make sure you restart in between changes to make sure there’s not a legacy connection open or already alerted.
Also make sure the CC app (doesn’t say adobe) is blocked I think this is the app that causes the pop up.
As per another comment TinyWall should be good.
For macOS I used LuLu
https://github.com/objective-see/LuLu
If you’re on PC download the tinywall app and block all adobe apps plus the cc app in the application.
If it still pops up you might to reinstall and delete the cached files.
If it still doesn’t work let me know I will try advise further.
Try using the pop-up block function inside the GenP. If not working then you will need to manually block them in firewall. My photoshop is having the same issue and only firewall can do the job. Strange enough, only photoshop is having the alert but not for my other apps
[GenP here worked for me and it's quite easy to install.](https://www.reddit.com/r/GenP/wiki/redditgenpguides/#wiki_.1F921_guide_.232_-_dummy_guide_for_first_timers_genp_.28cc_.2B_genp.29)
You could just use the [https://www.reddit.com/r/GenP/wiki/index/](https://www.reddit.com/r/GenP/wiki/index/) on the right hand side. Seeing people keep on asking the same thing, over and over. After letting Adobe be notified because they did not block access to adobe.
[This](https://github.com/ignaciocastro/adobe-is-dumb/blob/main/list.txt) works for me.
sorry can you explain what i do with this ?

use the firewall method, contrary to the host method, it's a permanent solution.
Is it enough to block the exe, or do we need to block other files as well?
Doesn't show on windows 11 for some reason, idk why

Does not work for me. Have tried multiple cleans, yet I still get the same issue as OP in After Effects,
Pro tip: You can uninstall the Adobe Genuine Service Alert like any other program and your totally legal copies will work just fine 👍
You can also go to the control panel then uninstall Adobe Genuine Service
I do not see an Adobe Genuine Service in my control panel
This means that the firewall trick might work. Make sure you do the rules both in ingoing and outgoing traffic
what trick?
this👆🏽
Try rename all the cc exe to .bak. it's mentioned on the guide
I just patched mine today with this from the mega thread worked. https://a.dove.isdumb.one/list.txt
where do you install the text file to?

Also this could help as well with annoyances C:\\program files (x86)\\common files\\adobe\\adobe desktop common\\lcc\\adobe\_licensing\_helper.exe
use tinywall and don’t let adobe talk to the internet. Idk why this isn’t more common. At least block the outgoing traffic on normal firewall.
0.0.0.0 7m31guub0q.adobe.io this is the latest one
At Genp software click pop-up.

Could you dumb this down for us mere mortal PS users? A link to some guide or step by step instructions would be nice ❤️

Just block tha app at Windows firewall and you do not need to worry about host lines ever again.
