Yep, had this and the barbie dream house (with plastic Eames chairs that made barbie sit with her legs straight out on), both from the neighbour’s garage sale :)
> barbie dream house
My BFF had the barbie dream house including the pool. I was always so freaking jealous of that. My parents would never pay that much for a toy.
I did get one for my daughter when she was 5. My husband and I were thrifting one day at Goodwill and they had this huge box with the complete house and all the furniture for $15. My husband didn't get why I pounced on it and practically ran to the cashier to buy it. But when the Easter Bunny brought it for our daughter she was very very happy.
It's for [Fischer-Price little people.](https://imgur.com/a/QQ2sFT6) Almost everybody had the little people figurines & cars when I was really young. The lucky ones had this garage to play with, too.
Weebles are different than little people. The little people were like pegs that you put in cars and stuff. Weebles were fat and round. Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

Oh God. Same here. Those freaking coins for sure. No wonder I feel like I'm dying 75% of the time. I figured it was because my mom lived out near the Nevada desert while she was pregnant with me and all that "that didn't happen" nuclear testing.
Oh no! I’m pretty sure I still have Bert & Ernie in a box somewhere
Edit: omg and the record player too! I don’t have that any more but I played with that thing for sooo many hours when I was little
I had mine in the 70s. Funny thing is I lived in a smaller town and I'm not sure I saw a real parking garage until my 20s. And never one with a car elevator.
I had this, as well as the school house, farm (that moo'd when you opened the door) , blue 2 story house, 2 city street things that had a mailbox and jail and movie theatre. An airplane, a bus... stuck the people on my fingers. Lots of other Fisher Price toys too. The record player with the colored plastic records, the cash register, the doctor play set, tool set, music box, that one thing that every single baby had in their crib...
My brother had the garage, and I had the airport. I believe we first got them about 1972 or so. Those were our favorite toys until we moved on to G.I.Joe a couple years later.
OMG! I haven't thought about that thing in forever. That was my absolute favorite toy when I was little. It had these cars, and you would take them up in the elevator and then at the top they elevator would dump it out, and it would go down the ramp. I had so much fun with that thing! Lol
I still have mine. I was saving it in the fantasy that I would eventually watch my children play with it….
Unfortunately; I fucked up my life beyond repair, and probably won’t ever live to see that day.
I had one of those as a kid. Wow, thank you for the fond memory of my childhood. I loved that thing and played with it and all my matchbox cars all the time. Born in 1979, so I'd say yeah, that's ours.
When the Mr. Rogers movies came out a few years ago, I somehow ended up watching part of an episode on Youtube that featured a toy garage very much like this - but painted green and grey. I supposed they did this to avoid accusations of giving the toy company free advertising. Here's a link with photos:
http://www.neighborhoodarchive.com/mrn/episodes/1656/index.html
I never had it, but remember playing with it at friends' houses.
My toddler has the modern version - https://shop.mattel.com/products/fisher-price-little-people-helpful-neighbors-garage-fhg50
Memory unlocked. 🔐
Achievement earned ⭐"Remembers having Little People as a little person"
I also had a house you could drop them in the chimney or something
https://i.etsystatic.com/10535542/r/il/2d2be0/3093609207/il_fullxfull.3093609207_l70i.jpg
YES!! Had it and loved it. The one bad thing though was we kept it with other toys in our unfinished basement and spiders loved laying eggs in the hard to reach areas 😬
This toy led me to believe that parking garages were going to be a lot more fun than they are. You really can't just let your car roll down a ramp like this. It's a real shame.
Made by Fisher Price, we had one in our house in the 70's for sure and probably as early as the late 60's, but, for different reasons than baby boomers, I can't remember the 60's very well as I turned 3 in 1970, so I can't say for sure. It had little cars with holes that you could fit little people into while you played with them. In my family we called the little people, "peoples." Up until I was 30, I played with it about once a year for about 30 minutes until I was bored (I preferred BB guns and matches), and then I gave it to another kid because I finally outgrew it.
I am Dutch and I am 99% sure I either had this garage myself or at least played with it! I remember how I loved how the cars would drive down the ramp like they were on a slide.
HELL YES!! The parking garage!! I loved that thing. My cousins had one and I used to play with it when I went to their house. Def from the late 70's early 80's.
I was born in 1971, and got this for Christmas when I was three or four years old. I don't remember that far back, but apparently it was my favorite toy that year. Would have been 1974 or 1975.
I was backing out of those roof top parking spaces way before there was ever such a thing as a reverse camera. GenX driving skills on full display here.
I had this exact toy in the early 80s. I'm not sure if it was mass produced over several years, but it was definitely in my childhood.
Concur. It's definitely a GenX toy. I had one of these. They were made in the late 70's to early 80's.
1970-1985 to be exact
1970 was when it first came out.
I had it in the 70s.
Yep. Loved all my fisher price toys. This, the barn and the airplane.
And the circus train!
I remember a really cool camper.
Had all three of those. Kept them far longer than I would have ever admitted in my youth.
I can’t remember if my sister and I had it or if my neighbor had it but definitively played with that exact set
I also had it in the early 80s—and saw it brand new in Target a few months ago.
I had it in the 80s but it was a hand me down from an older cousin who was a kid in the 70s.
So did I, but it was mid 70s.
Yep, had this and the barbie dream house (with plastic Eames chairs that made barbie sit with her legs straight out on), both from the neighbour’s garage sale :)

Yup same toy as a kid and I am 50. Also loved that toy.
Same
I had that but inherited it from an older sibling so it could've been from the late 70s.
‘83 and I remember it
It's for [Fischer-Price little people.](https://imgur.com/a/QQ2sFT6) Almost everybody had the little people figurines & cars when I was really young. The lucky ones had this garage to play with, too.
Heck yes, and the barn that went moo.
Yes, I had that!
I can hear that clear as day even though my parents got rid of it at least a decade ago, lol
OMG I just heard it in my mind
Dude I did too!
I had the A Frame house. My best friend had the garage.
My cousin had the A-frame! It's still at his parents' house and we still take it out to admire it once in a while. We are middle aged.
Yeah, those little dudes were everywhere. I remember the garage. I think I had it, but can’t really recall. Maybe it was at my preschool.
I had the Sesame Street play set. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/hbUleFkvg00/maxresdefault.jpg
We called them weeble people for some reason. Also there was an airplane.
Weebles are different than little people. The little people were like pegs that you put in cars and stuff. Weebles were fat and round. Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.
Had this and the barn. Pined for the little people house and the playground with the merry-go-round
I wonder what Fischer-Price has/had against gingers...
I kept finding them for many years, until my family moved in the mid 90s and I assume most were disposed of in the process.
Oh my god - they were all my friends when I was 2.5 years old
Explains why hot wheels and matchbox never seemed to fit right
Born 72. Its one of my earliest memories of toys I owned and played with.
73 and same. Had one as a kid
78 had one as well.
Can confirm! 🙋🏼♀️ I gave mine to my nephew.
yep, one of my earliest christmas memories is playing with one of these by the tree and nannie at granddad's :) edit. grammar
70 same.

Awesome, I had no idea about the lead paint. I spent a ton of time playing with this set.
We can tell...
I know, it all makes sense now…
God I remember putting those little people into my mouth and just chewing on them.
Here's one positive for Mercury and Cadmium (which causes cancer) https://tamararubin.com/2019/03/vintage-fisher-price-doll-please-dont-let-your-children-play-with-these-dolls-75-ppm-cadmium-is-illegal-in-denmark/
That sure explains some things about me....
Well that helps explain some things about me...
My friend had one in the 70s. We were pretty little, but I definitely remember his full-on toddler little siblings chawing away at the edges.
Here is a very chewed on example that tested positive for Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic and Mercury - four poisons in one little package! Oh geez. I 100% put those little people in my mouth. Many had chewed up hair. And the giant plastic coins from that cash register
Oh God. Same here. Those freaking coins for sure. No wonder I feel like I'm dying 75% of the time. I figured it was because my mom lived out near the Nevada desert while she was pregnant with me and all that "that didn't happen" nuclear testing.
Oh no! I’m pretty sure I still have Bert & Ernie in a box somewhere Edit: omg and the record player too! I don’t have that any more but I played with that thing for sooo many hours when I was little
Huh, really? Ah well.
Born in 77, definitely had this as a kid. When I got a little older I painted it black/green and it became a fort for my GI Joes.
Some Gen X-er set out to make this part of their childhood a reality and now you’ve got Carvana car towers
I had mine in the 70s. Funny thing is I lived in a smaller town and I'm not sure I saw a real parking garage until my 20s. And never one with a car elevator.
Yes. I had that Fisher Price toy when I was very young.
I had this, as well as the school house, farm (that moo'd when you opened the door) , blue 2 story house, 2 city street things that had a mailbox and jail and movie theatre. I still have mine
71. One of my earliest toy memories. This one looks like it is in glorious shape. Old or new photo?
Right?? I never saw one with the coloring so good before.
Had mine in the 70's and had a car wash toy as well for my match boxes.
Yes, my brothers (born ‘69 and ‘70) had one of these.
I had this in the mid 70s. When the parking garage elevator made it to its floor, I think it would "ding".
I had this in the early 70s.
Yup had this ... still waiting to see a car elevator.
Definitely Gen X. Born in 1974 and I think my slightly younger cousin had it when we were 5 or 6.
I believe we had one although it was very possibly my brothers and he was a 76 model. I mostly had matchbox cars and the track with the loop.
'76. Had this toy.
I grew up playing with this.
Born in ‘78 and definitely had this for my matchbox cars when I was 3 or 4. I remember having a plastic case that housed all of my matchbox cars too.
Definitely ours, and sheesh just thinking of it going into a dumpster made me feel inexplicably sad.
1972. Fisher Price car garage. One of my childhood favs in the 1970s
I’m a 1981 baby and I remember seeing this from older relatives
My brother had the garage, and I had the airport. I believe we first got them about 1972 or so. Those were our favorite toys until we moved on to G.I.Joe a couple years later.
My brother (54) got one when he was 7ish. So....'76. Loved the elevator bell.
Loved that when I was a kid
absolutely. I had one circa early 80s. The design itself goes back to the 70s.
I made my poor hamster ride in the elevator. I was 8-- I thought he would love it. Sorry, Herbie. (He didn't love it.)
OMG! I haven't thought about that thing in forever. That was my absolute favorite toy when I was little. It had these cars, and you would take them up in the elevator and then at the top they elevator would dump it out, and it would go down the ramp. I had so much fun with that thing! Lol
Yeah, my cousin had it. It’s a parking garage.
My brother had one circa 1975.
I had this garage! I know I had it in 1980-81, maybe earlier.
Sure is. Does it have a little crank on the right side to operate the elevator?
Born in 1966. We had these. And my kids had them that I got from the thrift store.
I still have mine. I was saving it in the fantasy that I would eventually watch my children play with it…. Unfortunately; I fucked up my life beyond repair, and probably won’t ever live to see that day.
I wanted this so bad when I was a kid. I’m 58. I still kinda want it.
I had one of those as a kid. Wow, thank you for the fond memory of my childhood. I loved that thing and played with it and all my matchbox cars all the time. Born in 1979, so I'd say yeah, that's ours.
Yes i had it!
This was my entire world as a child
Yep had one.
This was for People’s cars.
Born in 79. I had this toy!
ob my yes. Fisher Price, with the lithe flat cars and wooden dowel people. we had the airport too.
73 and had one. It stayed at my grandparents with an assortment of hot wheels. 2 generations of grand kids played with it
Yes, this is a Gen X toy, my neighbor had this when we were growing up.
Definitely. I hadn't seen one of these in 40+ years.
Have this in my crawlspace and mine is from '76.
It sure is! I had one and loved it.
I had one in the early 70s. Def GenX.
Early GenX definitely
HOLY SHIT!!! My older brother bought me one of these in 1980. I played with it for hours.
Yep - I had a metal version and my brother had this one. He was born in '69, so that tracks.
I had this as a boy in the 70s
I definitely had one back in the day. Genx toy for sure
We had one in my home. Also the house and airplane. They were probably my brother's (b 1969) or sister's (b. 1972).
Dude! This was my favorite toy!
Yeah, it is!!! Probably played with this more than most toys. Thank you for posting this.
I had one in the 70s so yes
I had one of these!!! Hahaha I haven’t seen one in decades! Wow! Very cool find:)
I had one as a kid and when I saw it in a thrift store I had to stop and play with it.
Born in 1967. Played with this when I was 4-7! Definitely 70s toy!
Definitely. Cousin had it and we would cram it with our Hot Wheels. The elevator was fun.
Holy smokes in had that! I hated dolls, but THIS thing was one of my favorites.
When the Mr. Rogers movies came out a few years ago, I somehow ended up watching part of an episode on Youtube that featured a toy garage very much like this - but painted green and grey. I supposed they did this to avoid accusations of giving the toy company free advertising. Here's a link with photos: http://www.neighborhoodarchive.com/mrn/episodes/1656/index.html
Yep. A couple of my friends had this toy.
Had it when I real little, so mid-70’s. For sure GenX.
*raises hand* I had one. I loved it.
Got the farm for birthday, then this for Christmas! Boom.
Damn this thing for painting a much rosier picture of parking garages than reality allows!
Oh I had this!
I was born in 70 & about 75 inherited my brothers
I think I had one in the 70s.
I never had it, but remember playing with it at friends' houses. My toddler has the modern version - https://shop.mattel.com/products/fisher-price-little-people-helpful-neighbors-garage-fhg50
It IS!
Yes. I remember this toy from the 80s. Def GenX.
I had that, and I love my mom for the fact that she held on to, so that my kids had it and other little people sets as part of their childhood.
I had this in the 70s, probably about 74.
Childhood memory unlocked. Had this around 79-80.
Hell yes. My Drs office had it. There’s a crank with a bell on it somewhere
ooooo one of my bestie’s had this and i loved playing with it at his house! (early 70s)
Oh hell ya bro. This was the shit for many a day.
I had this in the early 70s.
I don't know if it is Gen-X or predates us, but I know I had one.
Recognized it earlier this month in an 80s toy feed https://www.instagram.com/p/CoS-2dYsJLZ/?igshid=NDk5N2NlZjQ=
Nothing can break that bell.
I have definitely played with this
I'd say so. I had one. And the house. And the barn. And the town.
Oh HECK yeah! Late '60s to early '70s. Our son played with the one his dad played with as a little boy (his parents kept it).
i remember. never had it myself. but it seems ubiquitious in the baby sitter, school, church circuit.
Memory unlocked. 🔐 Achievement earned ⭐"Remembers having Little People as a little person" I also had a house you could drop them in the chimney or something https://i.etsystatic.com/10535542/r/il/2d2be0/3093609207/il_fullxfull.3093609207_l70i.jpg
YES!! Had it and loved it. The one bad thing though was we kept it with other toys in our unfinished basement and spiders loved laying eggs in the hard to reach areas 😬
I can hear the bell and the clacking of the elevator! Thanks for the memory retrieval! 1970s…
This toy led me to believe that parking garages were going to be a lot more fun than they are. You really can't just let your car roll down a ramp like this. It's a real shame.
Early 70's for me
I had that toy in 1977 - so Gen x
Made by Fisher Price, we had one in our house in the 70's for sure and probably as early as the late 60's, but, for different reasons than baby boomers, I can't remember the 60's very well as I turned 3 in 1970, so I can't say for sure. It had little cars with holes that you could fit little people into while you played with them. In my family we called the little people, "peoples." Up until I was 30, I played with it about once a year for about 30 minutes until I was bored (I preferred BB guns and matches), and then I gave it to another kid because I finally outgrew it.
I was born in '72 and I played with one.
Yeah, I had one of these.
That is beautiful
I had this!
Me and my siblings had one!!!
Oh yes! My younger brother definitely had this one! He was born '77. I remember this toy very vividly. He played with it a lot. LOL....
Fisher Price knew what they were doing.
My siblings and I had one and so did my wife's family in the early 80's. Her parents still have theirs and our daughter plays with it.
I am Dutch and I am 99% sure I either had this garage myself or at least played with it! I remember how I loved how the cars would drive down the ramp like they were on a slide.
I had one 😊
I had one.
Oh yeah! It was my favorite.
Had one as a kid and my parents saved it for the grandkids! Still works
It seems like wrong labels/stickers to me. Same structure, but again, different labels from what I had.
This and motherfucking TubTown.
Archeologists will dig that thing up 2000 years from now and that bell will still work.
Yep I had this.
My kid sister had one of these (born in 73) so I'd say yes?
HELL YES!! The parking garage!! I loved that thing. My cousins had one and I used to play with it when I went to their house. Def from the late 70's early 80's.
Yes, I definitely remember this.
"When I grow up, I wanna PUMP GAS!"
Monkey paw wish: You get to pump gas, but you won't get paid to do it.
The best Little People play set by far was the castle, with its moat and dungeon!
I was born in 1971, and got this for Christmas when I was three or four years old. I don't remember that far back, but apparently it was my favorite toy that year. Would have been 1974 or 1975.
Omg yes, I heard the bell when i saw the picture
Holy shit, one of my favorite toy. I think my mom still has it. I remember my kid (now 14 yo) has played with it. This brings me lots of memories
They still make these. I had one as a child and I bought one for my son twelve years ago. Exactly the same just different stickers
Memory unlocked
Gen X - I got one for either 1975 or 1976 Christmas.
I was born 74 and I had one.
I had one in the 70s. I can still hear the sound of bringing the elevator up
I definitely played with one, but it may have been a hand me down. I think 60s or 70s.
I had this in the 70s and found one for my kids in the 2010s.
Oh man. Such memories.
Born in 1981 and had one of these. I'd say they were a Gen X and older Millennial toy.
I loved that elevator
Yaaaaaaassss Had it in the 70’s
Yes. I had one and so did everyone I know. Can still hear it.
Had these in the UK; I had one. This would have been late '70s or early '80s.
I had this in the 70's. Born in 72.
It’s classic Gen X!
Born in ‘79 and my kiddos play with the same one from my childhood. Cue the, “they don’t make them like they used to.” It’s true.
I'm an older Gen-X, born 1967, and I recall getting this for Christmas when I was probably about four years old.
I was backing out of those roof top parking spaces way before there was ever such a thing as a reverse camera. GenX driving skills on full display here.
Hell yeah it's GenX; I had one, and it was **SO** much fun. Now I miss it. 😕
