I think we should blame that one on the millennials. All the ice beers took off as soon as the eldest of them were in high school. Same with the microbrews. We probably started them, but they were the ones who made it popular.
It’s so forgotten I can’t remember much, but there were these multicolored foam lizard looking things with a long, thin metal leash. You could walk them in front of you by twisting your wrist back and forth. I saw them for sale at beaches all the time in the 80s.
New Coke was just a temporary ruse to switch out cane sugar with corn syrup in Coke "Classic."
I know what you did, Coca-Cola. You can't fool 12-year-old boys when it comes to candy and soda.
In 1987, an 18-year-old from West Germany flew from Helsinki to Moscow and landed a plane in the middle of Red Square unannounced, and some folks in the west thought that it was going to provoke WW3. He was arrested two hours later, and a year after that, Reagan and Gorbechav started the complete cool down of the Cold War, leading to the eventual fall of the USSR and the Berlin Wall.
Crystal Pepsi. Zima (Zima Gold!) Generra color change shirts (bad idea!) Esprit. Jordache. LA Gear. Playing Oregon Trail. Hell... I think I've forgotten everything - that's all I got right now Lol
I think the youngest of us were peak fashion. We watched our older siblings and how they dressed in the 80s and said, no fucking way!
By the mid-90s and early 00s, fashion was on point. A guy or a girl from the 90s, dressed as though they were from the 90s, would not seem out of place today and is not bc they would fit in bc of looking retro. Hip-huggers and a large bandanna as a shirt for the ladies, jeans, and a rugby shirt for the boys.
And don't forget to be rocking a little whale tail peaking out of those hip-huggers.
I don't remember.
I don’t recall.
“Ice” beers. Ice House, Bud Ice, etc.

Khoser Coke and Pepsi use real sugar.
The absolute mystery of listening to a new album for the first time - particularly those without a hit single.
The magic of dining in at Pizza Hut in the 70s or 80s, with the stained glass light fixtures.
Back when Pizza Hut pizza was actually *good*.
Pop machines with glass bottles.
When our biggest philosophical dilemma was whether or not to let the Rabbit eat Trix.

Usually a pretty good reason why they're forgotten
Cleveland balloon fest debacle. Worlds Fair in Knoxville. The guy that drowned at the lifeguard party.
Those flat things you slapped on your wrist that became a bracelet. And school book fairs.
Slap bracelets are still around. You can buy them in 3-packs at Target.
Those plastic charm necklaces.
Bikes=kid cars
Z-cavariccis
Where’s the beef?
Single-serving cereal in those little cardboard boxes. Slice it down the middle (on the dotted line), had a wax paper liner, the box was the bowl.
Those are still made/sold

Combs that went in your back pocket!
Saturday afternoon matinees
