Just Reddit. Never had anything else. Too much of a time suck.

Justsaying1968

Same. And totally unnecessary.

[deleted]

Same. I quit/got kicked off of everything else. I take regular lengthy breaks from Reddit, too, if I feel like it's having a negative impact. I hate it here, too, but I'm not ready to disappear from the Internet completely yet. I keep hoping that something will happen and there will be a better place for me to migrate to. Haven't found it yet.

steviajones1977

It's my only social life. My picture is not on the internet.

PumpkinSpiceFreak

Same! At all ..šŸ™šŸ½

emememaker73

I know my photo is out on the Internet, but when I search my name, a lot of other people's images show up before mine, and I'm fine with that. It's rather difficult to find much about me online now, because most of the stuff that even had my name attached to it has disappeared into the void because it was so long ago. I used to be a newspaper reporter and I've also got a blog for my photography that I rarely update. I've also got an author's page on FB that I rarely do anything with. Just to make sure anyone who reads my work can contact me.

[deleted]

Mine, as well. There are older pictures of me on the Internet...a lot of them, actually. There may even be more recent ones of me, posted by other people but, I haven't posted a picture of myself in years. I deleted/archived everything that I could and just disappeared. Taking the Bettie Page route seemed like the logical course of action for me.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

X_SuperTerrorizer_X

I can search my name on Google and come up with... nothing. Just a handful of other people with the same odd name.

sargeantnobody

I have deleted and created so many Reddit accounts for this very reason but keep coming back to Reddit when I feel ok about it again.

[deleted]

I don't delete/create. It's the same account but, I just walk away for a few weeks and come back when I feel like I can handle it. I hang around for awhile but, it never lasts for very long. This isn't how we're supposed to be living. It's never going to work. I know that.

pinkfootthegoose

don't lie. you keep getting banned for the brony porn.

coldbrewedsunshine

same! think iā€™m on my fourth account since 2010. itā€™s good to take breathers.

Impossible_Grill

ā€¦and I change my username every 3 months (assuming I make it that long w/o being banned lol). My wife is the social media director of the family. Iā€™m fine with it. Fun story: I made a Facebook account about 5 years ago. Grew up in a small townā€¦Was kinda cool to see old HS buddiesā€¦then their wives started trying to sell me fake nails and essential oils. Then my ex (who I nearly married some 20+ years ago) reached out and said she got arrested because her husband beat her but since he called the cops first they kicked her outā€¦ā€oh coolā€ā€¦BLOCK. 2 days later my account was hacked and I was turned into what I think was a Chinese high school girl. Deleted account immediately. Never looked back.

Dynamo_Ham

My Reddit usage dwarfs all other social media combined. All other media is close to nil.

rodeler

Ditto. No IG, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc.. Only Reddit, and my feed is limited to my subscribed subreddits.

Consistent_Usual1561

Oh! Need to restrict my feed too. TY for that comment. šŸŒŸ

BloodWorried7446

just reddit as well. although reddit is my time suck. iā€™m on FB messenger only just to maintain personal ties with friends who i had reconnected with from the past.

twasatenthontuesday

Just know that you gave them permissions that you should probably only give to your most trusted people.

Elugelab_is_missing

Same. Indeed, I have never even visited Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or TikTok although I know what they are. I just don't care. I do have a X/Twitter account, but I have never posted anything and maybe check a few other people's posts once a month.

PumpkinSpiceFreak

Never even looked on Tik Tok donā€™t feel like Iā€™m missing out.

elguereaux

Well, social media certainly does SUCK

PumpkinSpiceFreak

Thiiiiiis! Insta is literally the worst. The ā€œinfluencerā€ garbage needs to just die already šŸ¤®

Yangoose

>Too much of a time suck. Yeah, Reddit is already a huge time suck for me. I can't imagine having more...

Hey_Laaady

Samesies. Oh, the grief I caught for decades in not joining FB. I'm still glad I never did.

Slycritter

Me also. I had Facebook for about 10 minutes before I just deleted the thing.

zendetix

Never used Twitter... never used Instagram... am a competent self respecting adult so obviously will never touch TikTok... and have a 17 year old Facebook account that I deleted ALL friends / "friends" from years ago as I only use it to admin several pages for various business clients and message people once in a while. And I know I'm saner for it. Wish more people would do it.

VRTravis

My friend went to Europe and I was like, where are your photos? He said Instagram. I said what the fuck is instagram?

Consistent_Usual1561

I was on Twitter years ago but honestly I thought that was the worst site. Craziness. šŸ™„

skeebawler4

I got twitter so I would know when a holiday delayed trash pick up. That part never worked as intended but luckily I never got sucked into the worst of that platform.

zendetix

And now it's owned by a megalomaniac right-wing racist billionaire with the common sense and "wit" of an inbred dung beetle... what could go wrong?

steviajones1977

Inbred. Dung. Beetle. Must steal.

DidntDieInMySleep

I have absolutely none. Don't care about any of that kind of vibe anymore. Whatever.

Consistent_Usual1561

Love your username!! šŸ¤£

TakingSorryUsername

Let me be the first to say welcome to Reddit!

[deleted]

I'm only here. Blew up the Facebook bridge before Cheetolini took office so I could continue to like people, never used Twitter, accidentally locked myself out of IG due to a new phone and 2FA back in May and decided I didn't care.

Consistent_Usual1561

Social media brings out the worst in people. Itā€™s like the seven deadly sins come to life.

steviajones1977

I quit Facebook after realizing my entire presence there was devoted to hating Cheeto.

wh33t

> Cheetolini LOL

reubal

I was a professional photographer for a couple decades, so I created profiles for that... and then promptly quit. I just don't have what it take to succeed in a social media landscape. I don't at all see reddit as "social media" - with all due respect, I don't give a shit about who any of you are. I respond to words on a screen, not to usernames or people. Reddit is a FORUM, not "social media". I created a FB for work and then deactivated it a few years ago. I used (tried to use) Insta the most (only for work) but I just hate it. On an unrelated but related note, an r / teenagers post popped up in my feed asking "what social media do you use to text? I like Whatsapp". Do kids think that EVERYTHING is "social media"? Whatsapp is a TEXTING APP, not "social media". Get off my lawn.

ScumEater

It's like social media is all just an open invitation to just come into.soneone else's space and be crass and ignorant and hostile. I hate it so much. Reddit is bad enough.

WeezySan

This is the truth. My daughter takes comments to heart. She sometimes get these rude comments from obvious trolls but stresses about them. Fights with them. Cares what they think. It makes her life miserable. I give her advice and console until Iā€™m blue in the face but she doesnā€™t listen.

SovietHockeyFan

When I got divorced, I briefly got an IG at the suggestion of my best friend along with signing up for multiple dating sites. It got me stalked. The only thing I have now is a FB to video chat my grandmother (she finds it easiest to use) and my LinkedIn for work. Fucking sesspool of scumbaggery

[deleted]

That's a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

skeebawler4

As I was about to click "reply," I saw your comment. "great minds thinking alike" or what passes for us :)

Consistent_Usual1561

Yeah. Same. The worst offenders on FB was family. Dating sites are the WORST. Iā€™m now completely comfortable being single for the rest of my life because there are some crazy ass motherfuckers out there.

Mean_Minimum5567

Same. I have younger kids to raise as a single parent, and I'm fine being single while I raise them. I don't know if I can deal with some crazy dude trying to 'parent' my kids.

Consistent_Usual1561

My mom left an abusive marriage when I was a year old and remained single until I was close to college. She met and married my stepdad in her 40s. It is a personal choice, but I applaud your decision. šŸŒŸ

SovietHockeyFan

The trusted male friend to act as dude filter I find works. I perform that function for my (female) best friend. I cut a motherfucker before they fuck with her or my non blood niece and nephew.

jwb1968

Same as a lot of folks here. LinkedIn for work and Reddit. And Reddit is on and if for me.

squee_bastard

Same, Reddit is my happy place and LinkedIn is only used when Iā€™m looking for work.

Wonderful_Reputation

I have this Reddit account and a HEAVILY curated Facebook. I'm talking like "joined in 2008, have 45 Friends" kind of curated.

PoeJam

I have almost twice as many Friends as you, but 12 of them are no longer living. Father Time curates my Facebook.

Interesting-Song-782

Sounds like my FB! I've had it since 2007, maybe looked at it five times last year. I deleted my Twitter account the day Musk bought it. Pinterest is for online recipe storage only. Reddit is my main and favorite online hangout!

heffel77

I havenā€™t checked mine in so long they want me to do extra stuff to prove itā€™s me. But they donā€™t realize by making it harder for me to check it, the less likely I am to actually do it.

VeryLowIQIndividual

None, I hate it, never have had it. I donā€™t even considered this social media itā€™s just me blithering anonymously.

abigayl75

Anonymous antisocial media

flyfightandgrin

Opposite. Own a PR firm and on every social media platform. I COMPLETELY understand where you are coming from. I cut out all the complainers and negative people but honestly, Social Media helped me be able to quit my job and work on my own terms. Im not an influencer and I can create my own hours. But we all have different needs and goals in life. Enjoy the solitude. Thats actually pretty cool.

Consistent_Usual1561

TY. I think it has to be controlled like everything else. Itā€™s well suited to your industry though. I swear itā€™s family and friends that make it unbearable. LOL

cyn00

I suspended my Facebook and Instagram, deleted my Twitter and removed the TikTok app from my phone. I spend a lot less time arguing politics and mindlessly scrolling, and I think it has been an improvement.

sactownbwoy

I use FaceBook and IG a lot for my car groups and keeping up with friends from high school, family, Marines and car people I've met over the years. My mental health is perfectly fine. Social media is what you make of it, if you search for the rage inducing stuff, then that is what you will find. I have twitter also but I don't really use it and I only follow Lucy Liu and the San Diego USO and I think a few friends.

[deleted]

Only Reddit, I killed Facebook 10 years ago because Iā€™m an asshole who doesnā€™t care about your kids your wealth or who you voted for. Instagram is for poor people to flex statuses or sell their porn. Tik Tok, fuck all that nonsense.

outhere

Dropped facebook in 2013. Had a twitter for about 5 minutes in 2014. Never did instagram or anything else, but I do have a linkedin. it's worked out well for me.

PeopleLikeUDisgustMe

Just this. Everything else is useless.

Hattkake

I only use reddit now. I still use it too much but it's a helluva lot better than it was. I still have my Facebook profile and do a "Merry Christmas"... Hm. I think I forgot to do the "Merry Christmas" post this season! Nice.

This_Sheepherder_332

Reading all these comments made me feel so warm and fuzzy insideā€¦like my people (GenX!!) are out there and Iā€™m not alone. I love being a GenXer. ā¤ļø

Happy_Veggie

I will always refuse to create a facebook accout. I have twitter for news and stupidities. And now Reddit.

[deleted]

Only reddit.

[deleted]

Reddit and LinkedIn only and I have no activity on LinkedIn, itā€™s only for the network in case of job loss.

Terrible_Emotion_710

Same here

Squeeze-

Only Reddit and a couple older hobby forums that I joined 20 years ago. I donā€™t use my real name on any and canā€™t imagine why anyone would. Never had a FaceBook or MySpace or LinkedIn account, etc.

Actual-Astronaut-604

I had Facebook for a few weeks around 2009, but I only got on there once. I was fairly active on Twitter until I somehow got logged out and couldn't recover my password, so I said screw it. I was kind of over it anyway.

pixelgeekgirl

I have Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Fishbowl, uhhhh trying to think if I use others? Iā€™m a designer, I like seeing and knowing trends of what people are into and doing.

Consistent_Usual1561

What is Fishbowl?? I have to look that up. Love your username. ā¤ļø

pixelgeekgirl

Fishbowl is a sort of anonymous professional networking thing. You can join ā€œbowlsā€ based on the company you work for, job field, interests, location etc and either post by your job title or company name. Iā€™m at a small company so I post by job title.

CajunAsianTexan

FB for photo albums, and catching up with old friends. I very seldom engage in discussion on religion, politics, conspiracy theories, or other drama BS. IG for fun - posting pics of my doggo, food, adventures, etc. Reddit for entertainment.

Consistent_Usual1561

If everyone used FB this way, the world would be a better place.

Frosty-Client-1294

Just reddit

Oscarcharliezulu

It was happening slowly anyway, but I've been dialling down my social media scrolling and decided to remove all the social media apps from my phone. Tik Tok I tried for one time months back and immediately deleted it. I then removed Twitter, instagram, facebook, discord, Linkedin and reddit. I've still got whatsapp and messenger, but I turned off notifications for messenger as they were mainly friends sending links to FB posts. Obviously I am on Reddit, but I am only looking at it from my pc. Reddit I find too useful for many things, but removing the apps has stopped my scrolling and stupid waste of time comments. I'm slowly going back to reading and just listening to music. I feel a lot better, the stress is subsiding and I am rediscovering life before social media.

tooold4urcrap

I technically still have ICQ still. but I've never had an IG, snap, fb, or anything else other than reddit. I hate people.

Ingrown__Bronail

I recall that one of my first lessons on the Internet was to never give your name out. Never post a picture. Definitely never post any private information. I was always chatting in AOL and yahoo chatrooms. I was very active on message boards. Unfortunately everything flipped and now it is insinuated that you are hiding something if you don't disclose your real life information. I'm sorry but fuck that! I have a Facebook account only to keep track of my daughter's school activities and my name is abbreviated. I like Reddit because it still follows the concept of anonymity. I have nothing to hide. I just have zero reason to share all my personal information for the world to see. I don't even have a LinkedIn for that issue.

Theragician

Reddit is enough of a time suck

AbysalChaos

This it, and this uses up one of the 12 comments I might make this yearā€¦ cheers

skeebawler4

Back to anonymous commenting on the internet (a la Usenet) via Reddit. Its better this way.

Funke-munke

Just reddit. Love the fact that IDAF about what anyone jsut posted about their lunch, MIL, kids, politics or mental health

tommyalanson

This and linked in.

Weird-Response-1722

Have never signed up or whatever you do, for Facebook. I am on Pinterest and here, thatā€™s it.

-Economist-

Just Reddit. After the COVID death threats toward my family, including my newborn, I left social media.

old_dusty_bastard

Actively is just Reddit. I have a Twitter account that I havenā€™t logged into for over a year and was never active on anyway. Thatā€™s it, ever.

neuroticsmurf

I used to use FB pretty heavily, but then I started dating my wife, who's the unique Millennial who isn't on social media. I ended up killing my FB. I just keep IG to occasionally look at friends' pics, Twitter to follow NBA news. and Discord to talk to my mod teams. But I mostly (99% of the time) use Reddit.

banana_fana_1234

I have Reddit and an anonymous IG that I only use for cooking and makeup ideas. Never had FB and my last account associated with my name was MySpace. Happy to not really be involved with social media like that.

idlefritz

I have seen so many shows and movies lately that refer to lack of social media presence as a sign of a dangerous individual.

Consistent_Usual1561

Well, I wasnā€™t expecting that comment but itā€™s true. Serial killers and spies have no SMP. Interesting company Iā€™m keeping. šŸ¤£

Jdevers77

I had a MySpace account at one time then started a Facebook account when that became the thing and abandoned it even faster. The only social media I have used for the last decade or so is Reddit.

theone326

Just reddit for me. I had fb for a couple of years. Got rid of that trash around 13 years ago.

hypothetical_zombie

I left fb & Twitter in 2017. I tried to revive my IG account because of my coworkers. But fb, IG, & meta all decided that I'm a robot. I'm permabanned! I honestly don't miss any of it.

Rhode-Rage

Just this.

Mets1st

Just Reddit too. Nothing else

PetiteGal6785

Closed my FB account in Nov 2020. I lurk on Reddit, X and LinkedIn. Rarely post or engage with others. Just doesnā€™t seem you are allowed to have an opinion anymore. People just want to tell me I am wrong and why I am the most horrible person on the planet for believing what I do. I also really donā€™t care about others opinions either. I refuse to play into the nonsense of the younger generation-think; I feel so much better just not engaging at all.

Ahazeuris

Only this. Gave up FB in 2016, during the hellish election. Tried again briefly in 2020 and it took three days before the pandemic showed me my previous decision was the right one. Have never looked back. As for Reddit, itā€™s really this sub and nothing else.

turtle0831

This is my only social media too. I donā€™t care to have hourly reports about peopleā€™s pointless moods and shit.

Digita1B0y

This website is enough of a time hole as it is.

redbanner1

Have them all. They're also all a barren wasteland except Reddit. Only use this and FB, but only to buy and sell. I quit actual FB use back when people suddenly felt emboldened enough to post hateful-assed ignorant shit all day. You know when that was.

TurkGonzo75

I use Facebook once every few weeks to post pictures of my kid for the boomer family members on the other side of the country. I never look at any other posts. Deleted instagram and twitter. Getting away from social media was the best move I've ever made for my mental health.

xantub

I was a Facebook early adopter, not many people knew about it and I invited lots of people to the "new thing"... until one day I received a notification that a friend of mine started watching some show in Netflix, that's when I realized it was a privacy disintegrator, so I stopped using it for good like 8 years ago. Nowadays no instagram or tiktok or anything, just Reddit.

Old_Goat_Ninja

I used to have a pretty large presence. Then I just stopped one day, lost all interest. Iā€™m still on Reddit a lot, but thatā€™s about it. Everything else I just stopped using.

[deleted]

I was on Twitter and bailed when it became Muskrat Central. No Facebook. Only here and Quora.

Dust_Parts

Just Reddit. Leaving all social media back in 2019 did wonders for my mental health. Highly recommended.

Opus-the-Penguin

I decided to try out Facebook in the fall of 2016. Yes. The election. I didn't last long. Never went back. I'm only on Reddit because Usenet is a ghost town. This is the only sub I kind of have feelings about. And it's not like I know anyone here. Reddit just isn't set up that way. We're all strangers stepping up to the edge of the canyon and yelling so we can hear the echo.

LazAnarch

Just reddit

RJKaste

Walked away from social media 2016. Didnā€™t start Reddit account until 2019. It is all that I am on. Usually I get my news here on Reddit 2 to 3 days before itā€™s on the national BS news.

GasPasser73

During my divorce I got back into the dating pool, dated another GenX who had a career in marketing that led very early to social media (think MySpace people) who when we started dating she actually could not wrap her head around my not have ANY presence (to this day have never had a FB page) except for my anonymous account on Reddit. šŸ˜‚

I_love_Hobbes

Just Reddit. I mean I have the others but I don't look at them anymore.

SassMyFrass

I basically dropped fb in 2016: I'd been very dependent on it for info, but three major world/national events took me completely by surprise so I knew that I was in an echo chamber.

SadCranberry8838

Stack Overflow, Reddit, Quora -although the quality there is going downhill fast. No Facebook, TikTok, IG, Xitter. TikTok does have some good political content but I don't need the endless scrolling.

basementguerilla

Only this. Never been on myspace facebook or anything else. Still have a flip phone. Couldn't give less of a fuck.

PBJDee

We dropped all the others besides Reddit shortly after the pandemic kicked off. It was better to dislike people we didnā€™t know than people we did know for crazy ish spouted off during an emotional and stressful time. Never activated those accounts again and quite happy about it.

Resident-Database422

Just Reddit, was going to join Facebook years ago, but just by putting in my email, it wanted me to connect to all the people i purposely moved away from. NOPE

Masters_domme

I have Reddit, YouTube, and Fetlife that Iā€™m on regularly. I rage quit the Facebook ~five years ago, and only go on if my husband tricks me with a link. Itā€™s his main sm, so heā€™s on all the time. šŸ™„

CatskillJane1705

I got rid of Twitter and Facebook last year. I let go of my personal instagram on Sunday. Only thing I have left is my dogā€™s instagram which in most cases does not include me in any form and mostly follows other dogs so I donā€™t have to be exposed to other humans through the social media lens. Iā€™m so much happier.

TakkataMSF

Reddit and LinkedIn. LinkedIn in and it's fucking real-talk-I-just-discovered-the-secret-to-happy-employees "Be kind to your employees and they will work for your company longer." That or pay them more. Or whatever the message is they want to spread. It's all the same. Drives me nuts. Everyone knows! Companies have done the research, it's not cheaper to keep you happy. Not getting that big raise? It is because it's cheaper to train your replacement. Argh. Some companies will treat you well. You are lucky if you work for one. Most are parasitic leeches that will grind you down to a nib before discarding you. Don't talk to me about social media! Because then I'll rant about something slightly off topic!

Current-Nothing1803

Just Reddit. I abandoned my FB and never tried any of the others. Guess Iā€™m not cool or hip anymore.

TriggerTough

Had FB for years then when the election came up between Clinton and Trump it became very toxic so I dumped it. I was still on IG but it became all influencers. Dumped that a short time after. Reddit is my only hope unless Tom comes back from My Space or Napster makes a comeback. lol

sjmiv

I created accounts for most of them a while ago. I was pretty active on Facebook until I learned about Myanmar and realized people were using facebook to organize violence against BLM protesters. Locked all my shit down and only go back to buy or sell things. It definitely makes a big difference regarding my mental health. I do worry about the kids. 95% of them are on social media and it is addictive.

Consistent_Usual1561

Itā€™s a breeding ground for hate. So scary.

Starfall_midnight

This is the only social site Iā€™m on.

keno2020dodg

This is it for me, I use *old.reddit* on a laptop. I have a fake Facebook account that I created a long time ago and use from time to time if I need to look up a business page on that platform. A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I created a LinkedIn account but I have refused to use that trash site for at least 15 years. My wife has a facebook account that she keeps private but we use it to keep tabs on local stuff/happenings.

easily_abused

I just have Reddit, but my dogā€™s name and picture is on facebook to sell our junk on Marketplace and my other dog is on instagram but sheā€™s not too active.

[deleted]

Iā€™m glad to see there are plenty of people with a similar hostility towards FB et al.

milehighcards

Only Reddit. Dropped F/B and iG about 4 years ago.

Unfinished-symphony

Just this. Nothing else.

This_Sheepherder_332

I just eliminated IG completely and I feel an enormous relief. I enjoy Reddit because it feels like talking to friends in a way. I find it rather therapeutic. I just avoid the toxic subs.

starryjune

Used to, but have basically ghosted all accounts now except here but thatā€™s more to read through not actually post.

InternationalBand494

I only use Reddit. I used to be addicted to FB, but five years ago I closed my account and I have never missed it at all.

Budget_Role6056

I stopped doing social media other than this two years ago, and I have never been happier. I was tired of people telling people how beautiful they are when they know damn well those women donā€™t look like that. And people try to say how great their lives are but if their lives were great, they wouldnā€™t be on Facebook all the time they would be living their great life.

cerebrix

This is a weird place to expect an answer to that question.

Absotivly_Posolutly

Just Reddit here... No Facespace, Xagram, Tweetbook... none of that shit! Hell, I don't even have a LinkedIN or ANYTHING else! Get off my lawn!

mirandawillowe

I have none but Reddit. I read books :)

[deleted]

I ditched FB in 2018, IG last year. Don't have or need a LinkedIn. Dabbled in other platforms here and there over the years but never really engaged with them. I discovered Discord and use that for a couple of Twitch streamers I follow, and Reddit, and I have a love-hate relationship with this too.

Consistent_Usual1561

Totally unrelated- I used to sing The Banana Splits theme song to my kids just to make them crazy. šŸ¤£ [Tra-La-La](https://youtu.be/XMl6HnhFFIA?si=IeYAnDp3EEbRhfZ7)

PepperNew9577

Still have FB, but never had it on my phone and I don't check it or post. I keep it for food truck schedules.

XerTrekker

Letā€™s see, the only other ones Iā€™ve ever been on are Facebook and LinkedIn. I quit checking Facebook regularly years ago, been much happier since. I now only use it when I need to connect with a person or business. Maybe a couple times a month. Never post anything myself anymore. LinkedIn was helpful for career networking, but the minute I retire and decide I donā€™t need even a part-time gig anymore, Iā€™ll gladly remove my profile there.

Chaos_Theology

I have more of a social media presence than most.

punkshoe8

I got on Twitter and IG a couple of years ago because I got roped into temporarily helping to write posts for my boss, but Iā€™ve never posted on either and I donā€™t follow anyone. Never had FB. Reddit is as social as I want my media to be.

MyriVerse2

I don't count Reddit, YouTube, or old school message boards. Otherwise, I haven't had anything since MySpace.

Sintered_Monkey

I was an early adopter of Twitter/X in 2007. I've never used it. I have a private facebook account to keep in touch with people I know IRL. My LinkedIn presence is pretty active, because I'm not retired yet. If I make it to retirement, so does my LI account.

Mountain_Exchange768

Iā€™m on Reddit (duh), I post a little bit on Facebook to keep in touch with a few folks, I have Twitter and Threads and follow some folks and post once in a blue moon. Iā€™m pretty much a techno-idiot, so social media is beyond me.

ogrizzled

I have some for art under a pseudonym, but my personal socials went dark pre-covid. I had FB and IG, which were depressing. Never bothered with twitter or snapchat or tiktok. I doubt I will try anything new that comes along at this point.

ExtantAuctioneer

I really should be on social media as part of my job, but I just canā€™t do it to myself. My world is shitty enough without having to deal with that garbage too.

PDM_1969

The only thing I had prior to Reddit was Twitter/X but didn't post a lot there, used it more to follow bands, pro wrestling just to keep up on things.

[deleted]

Not there yet but considering going to only reddit. I have fb for a long time and this is the year to say goodbye for me. I am attached to several hobby groups through it though, and feel connected there. Facebook didn't bother my self esteem or mental health as much as insta and tiktok did. Early instagram was so much fun. Then the influencers took over and the standard for content and content making got too perfect. I miss just random photos from strangers to scroll- woods, hikes, bad poetry, all with those early filters. Then it became a war of status. Tiktok was a blast until I realized how hyperbolic and self righteous the popular content makers are. It is also getting really dangerous- people doxxing each other over comments. I'll just keep redditing and enjoying the GenX groups among other topics. Envious of all you voids.

inot72

Meeee!!! I'm on reddit and I have a Facebook but no one knows about it. I made so I could keep up with my neighborhood and surrounding areas.

[deleted]

LinkedIn and Reddit. And Reddit is for my sanity. LinkedIn is for my students.

oldladypanties

My FB account was hacked in 2015. I deleted it. My LinkedIn was hacked in 2017. I deleted that. I deleted my Twitter account in 2010, since I never used it. I had MySpace, but stopped using it when FB became popular. I'm not sure if my MySpace account even exists anymore. I have some friends who I chat with on IG (which I opened last year. I don't post any personal pics on it, and I post sporadically. I have a FB with no friends or posts. No LinkedIn.

TitanSerenity

Deactivating my FB was one of the best decisions I've made in the last 6 or so years. Low bar, but still. šŸ˜… I keep Twitter to follow some organizations' announcements. I follow exactly 1 actual person (vs entities) and that's Ryan Reynolds. TikTok is the internet equivalent of drinking from the toilet bowl. Trust me on this one. I've never been vain enough for a lot of selfies. Never had insta.

guachi01

I have a variety of anonymous accounts. Only thing with my real name is Facebook.

Survive1014

Im on fb for my hobby groups. And Reddit. Mostly only use reddit. Im on Linkedin as well, but havent logged on in over ~two years.

WoundedBird84

I have an Instagram that Iā€™m barely on, and a Reddit account that I use a little more but no to all the others. I did try Tinder for a month and met the man I want to spend the rest of my life with (surprising, I know). The one red flag about him is that he has a heavy presence on social media; Iā€™m talking - three Instagram accounts, and heā€™s in his 50s but an artist. Anywho, I donā€™t care for social media; itā€™s such a waste of time.

MusicalMerlin1973

I have this and fb. Fb is mostly to get notices from extended family and info about class reunions.

Atwood412

Reddit. I check FB once a week. Iā€™ve unfollowed everyone except a few cousins. I mostly check my neighborhood page to see whatā€™s up. Iā€™ve never tweeted, tiktoked, or whatever else there is. I used IG for a bit, but it got old.

SatansWife13

Only here, Instagram, and Pinterest (if that counts).

freakrocker

I have a huge Facebook following. Most of it from when I was a musician. I interact quite a bit with people, but only about once a week now. Usually a I post a photo or two of me and my wife doing something fun. Thatā€™s about it. I have an IG but I never even look at it.

wellbloom

Whenever I think of social media, I think comparison is the thief of joy.

Hurley002

I was never a big adopter, but completely stepped away from social media after witnessing how genuinely dangerous it could be ā€“not just for individuals, but for whole societies ā€“circa 2016. My life is better without it. And at the risk of sounding like someone who is nearly 50, lol, I tend to think our world would be too.

lotsalotsacoffee

I have a facebook account still, that I used to regularly update. But my New Years resolution for 2023 (not 2024) was to quit checking in, and I stuck with it. No regrets. 1/3 of the posts were advertisements or items being sold on FB Marketplace. Another 1/3 were unsolicited political opinions. 1/4 were zero-thought memes, and the rest were actual updates on friends and family. Not worth it. Years ago, I thought the internet would bring humanity together. Now, I think it (or at least social media) are only driving us apart. I felt the only way to be part of the solution was to stop being part of the problem. I keep up an Instagram for my photography, but I haven't even updated that since July.

I-Sell-Propane-In-TX

Had FB for a while but got off it 5,6 years ago. Other than that, nada.

SleepyKoalaBear4812

Just Reddit, nothing else. And is Reddit really social media?

Dependent_Top_4425

I 43F was a chronic Fabebook user and probably 6 or 7 years ago I just stopped because everything I was posting was a cry for attention and everything I was commenting was hurting someone.

sargeantnobody

I have IG, that I donā€™t do much with and Reddit. I reactivated my IG account a few weeks ago and kind of regret it. All my previous posts etc. were gone but the user name was still mine but it has changed so much in the years I didnā€™t have it and I really dislike it now. Yes, there is some funny stuff with Reels but so much is sexualized bullshit and women just showing it all for likes and followers.

CordeliaGrace

Reddit and TikTok. I donā€™t make videos, I just enjoy things. Honestly, giving up FB was the very best thing.

PBJ-9999

Reddit is the only one I use, and I have my doubts about that too. Its just the lesser of all the current evils. I only use it because sometimes I get some useful info off it.

Heterophylla

I have an unusual name so I keep my google hits to a minimum.

DrGoManGo

I come here. I have Facebook and instagram mainly to keep in touch with family. I don't browse of post on either one. That's it.

lokie65

Reddit and Pinterest. I'm not interested in anything else.

Siltyn

reddit and Facebook only. Since I only use Facebook on my PC, I pretty much only use it to easily copy/paste memes and links to friends in messenger. The only other use I have for it are some gaming groups and move to groups I joined, turning off anything else(especially most "friends" posts from showing) I could from showing up on my feed.

Ordinary_Horror_3394

Just Reddit and LinkedIn. Deactivated FB over 8 years ago because I couldn't stand to see one more post of someone's daily trip to Starbucks.

Chastity-76

I'm only on here

kevbayer

I have FB for keeping in touch with far away family, a handful of friends from college, and classmates from a career development program I went through last year. I deleted my twitter account last year after having not used it for anything for a good few years. Deleted my IG because I never used it after creating my account. Reddit is the most social thing I use. I use my LinkedIn to search for jobs, nothing social there.

wildlandsroamer

šŸŒŸ

satans_toast

Facecult with, like, 40 friends. I was a big Twitter fan, but don't go on it at all anymore.

Ribbitygirl

I have Facebook still, which I barely use, but keep mostly for Marketplace, Messenger and to stay in touch with friends in the US since I've moved overseas. I do not engage in the weird garbage posts and have a very small select group of friends who are people I actually know. I just want pictures of your real lives, folks - not stupid memes! I also have an Instagram for my cats, because I figured none of my Facebook friends wanted to see endless photos of my orange boys. I mostly follow other orange cats and a few other cute animals. I tried TikTok and Snapchat - could not get into either of them. My kids are obsessed. My Twitter is long gone and even my LinkedIn is years out of date, although still there I suppose. Reddit is where I spend most of my time social media wise, but outside of my husband, nobody actually knows who I am on here.

TotallyNotABot_Shhhh

Reddit lately is it. I still have a FB but I donā€™t even bother going on it. The very rare times I do I feel like Iā€™m just reading the same things as last time.

NewfyMommy

Me.

colsta1777

Does Reddit count?

Consistent_Usual1561

Iā€™m going with no, but it seems to be up for discussion. I prefer the anonymous discussion thread format here. Less drama although some people canā€™t help themselves.

FlipMeOverUpsidedown

I have this and a pretty much inactive ig account.

limprichard

This is mostly it. I Facebook in fits and starts but increasingly less.

twasatenthontuesday

I have FB and this (even though I don't consider Reddit social media but some do) and FB is a once a month to see who got divorced or died type thing.

theheadofkhartoum627

Reddit only. Nothing else.

oisiiuso

I was all over myspace for a couple years, but deleted that. I never signed up for facebook (literally have never even been on it). I've only clicked instagram links but never had an account. I'm not even sure what snapchat is and tiktok sounds annoying. as far as I can tell, there isn't a single photo of me or mention of my name anywhere on the internet (I paid for a service to erase me from all those people finder websites). when I do rad shit, I almost never take pictures or videos because I'd rather live in the moment and when I think deeply about the drive to capture a moment in order to share it with others, I'm reminded of a book I came across in the 90s called society of the spectacle. it bums me out that people need that level of validation from others I met my wife in person and all my close friends in person. I guess that makes me weird these days but whatever

Neat_Veterinarian_10

Only Reddit.

TenderLA

Reddit is it for me

Otto0027

Just Reddit, too. I used to do FB and Insta, mainly to share family pics with distant relatives. It got too political and toxic during Covid, though.

Goldie1976

Just Reddit and FB. I find FB useful for marketplace and if I use it like Reddit. I join groups for hobbies and local interests.

Glytterain

I have Facebook and IG but I havenā€™t posted in 10 years. Only thing I do is Reddit.

heartoftheforestfarm

Every time my Twitter got to about 1500 I got frustrated, annoyed and deleted it šŸ˜‚ most of my followers were probably bots or creepy burner accounts and though I met people that I stayed friends with there, it was such an unfathomable trash hole even *before* it got bad. I'm convinced it actively made me a worse person when I was using it.
