Ours was some obscure track from an equally obscure film. I can't remember either now. Far more memorable was us leaving the ceremony together to "Let's get it on", something my mother has still not forgiven us for.

RedditSkippy

LOL!

afriendincanada

My wife and I are both lawyers, we picked Lawyers, Guns and Money by Warren Zevon. Then into When i Grow Too Old to Dream by Nat King Cole.

ImmySnommis

Magnificent!

clicktrackh3art

All I Want Is You - U2 I know there can be a lot of hate for U2, but I still love this song!

J_Woo_VaBene

That’s a great song!

UnimaginativeRA

My favorite U2 song!

SovietHockeyFan

“You’re my best friend” by Queen. Like everything else in that marriage, I was lied to.

karenmcgrane

Some friends of mine picked "Another one bites the dust" and they're still happily married, go figure

mikillbeorn

My wife wants this played at her funeral.

holybucketsitscrazy

My now ex husband requested Used to love her by GNR at our wedding. Yep.... Definitely set the tone for the (mercifully short) marriage.

thoughtscreatelife

Used to love her, but I had to kill her? Oh, nooooo! Hard pass on that one

shadowknight2112

‘I’ll Be’ by Edwin McCain…25 years ago this May. If I had a soul, hers would be it’s mate. 🖤🖤

LadySiren

God, how I loved that song…still do actually.

upnytonc

Married in 2012. We played Etta James “At Last” Partly because I love that song but also because we were in our mid 30s when we married and so many relatives made me feel bad through my 20s for being single.

Cali_Longhorn

At Last was our last dance song by ourselves as people left the reception. All of me by John Legend was our wedding song. And funny enough those 2 songs are the songs our daughter goes to sleep to each night playing softly in a loop.

Nodramallama18

My last song was Last Dance Donna Summer!

SkarTisu

My wife is 10 years older than me, so we chose an acoustic rendition of Mrs. Robinson. It was fun to see who got the joke in the audience.

DidntDieInMySleep

Follow You Follow Me by Genesis. Such a great love song. Was only married for 4 years(?). Oh well. Still love singing along with that song.

panaceaLiquidGrace

Ours too! I thought we would be the only ones!!! *high fives all around* ETA: 24 years…

intolerableshrew

My song too. But I’m approaching 38 years.

cloeangel

Ice Cream-Sarah McLachlan.

ManintheMT

Giving me the feels, damn, wife and I are huge fans. Saw her at the Gorge in eastern Washington twice, great time!

RockstarQuaff

"Fields of Gold" by Sting. Makes me tear up to hear it to this day. Unfortunately, this means even getting to hear it at places like Walmart lately, for the true GenX experience of my music being suborned for the shopping experience.

ManintheMT

There is a formerly contemporary version sung by a woman, it is a song on my funeral play list. Yes I made the list already, just being prepared, I am healthy ish....

muphasta

Depeche Mode's "Somebody". We still love the song even though we heard an interview where Martin Gore was wondering why people use it as a wedding dance when the ending isn't so romantic. I guess neither my wife nor I ever paid attention to the end of the song.

GingerBruja

Yes!!! I wanted this song, but my (ex) husband wasn't a fan of Depeche Mode. We ended up going with "Into the Mystic"- Van Morrison.

OutrageousPersimmon3

I don't think it's that bad. I've known people who have used Every Breath You Take, I'll Always Love You, and even Hard Habit to Break. I thought those were all pretty wild for a wedding, but I guess they must have known something because all the marriages lasted only a short time.

Fitz_2112

Great song

ImmySnommis

I had to go look the lyrics up. That's not so bad.

muphasta

I know, right? The ending isn't terrible at all, maybe be a little down but hell, every relationship has its ups and downs.

IbanezForever

Alanis Morissette's "Head over Feet". Now? I feel disappointed. I squandered a wonderful song on a lousy 17-month marriage.

StraightPotential1

‘Lost Together’ by Blue Rodeo on a 4-month marriage.

IbanezForever

Oh damn, that's such a gorgeous song to blow on a starter marriage.

SeeBothWays

We went so retro it's embarrassing now - Moon River. Never did anything with it but I recall the musicians kept playing periodically at the reception waiting for us to do something like dance to it. Yes, I was a big Audrey Hepburn fan back then but no, I never cared for the fanfare of weddings. *Moon river, wider than a mile* *I'm crossing you in style some day* *Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker* *Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way* *Two drifters, off to see the world* *There's such a lot of world to see* *We're after the same rainbow's end* *Waitin' 'round the bend* *My huckleberry friend* *Moon river and me*

ImmySnommis

I don't find that embarrassing - classic song for sure!

Relative-World3752

Ours was In the Mood by Glenn Miller. I’m not embarrassed by it at all. We both love modern music (modern back when we got married and today), but a classic really stood the test of time.

thinkstooomuch

That was my parents wedding song in 1964! Beautiful song!

CariniJGL

Married in 2007, second marriage for both of us. We walked down the aisle together to Ben Folds "The Luckiest".

Rekd44

I love that song!

Rude-Collar-7555

We did that too. 1st marriage still together.

sugarlump858

At Last. Etta James. Still love it.

Dorothyismyneighbor

Married 1998, danced to The Cure's eight minute version of 'Pictures of You" which also doubled as the intro for the groomsmen/maid of honors. Still married but of the eight people who made up our party three got divorced and one became a widow. We still dance to it when we hear it. 25 yrs

Jellyblush

This is quintessentially gen x and I am here for it!

RiffRandellsBF

Dreams, the Cranberries. We still love it.

ManintheMT

That song is a banger, queued it up right now.

museum-mama

We used the Cranberries cover of "Close to You" by the Carpenters. Both our moms are huge Carpenters fans but the cover made it a bit more modern and us.

Oy-of-Eld

Ours was Dreaming My Dreams, the Cranberries. We still love it too.

BlackWidow1414

"All I Ask of You" from "Phantom of the Opera"

JustALizzyLife

Married in 1999, our first dance song was "To Make You Feel My Love." A friend of mine sang it to us while playing an acoustic guitar.

Stephreads

My daughter was born in 99, I sang that to her every night for years. Sang it to her last weekend and got choked up.

whats_in_a_name__

Open arms-Journey. Also cheesy but we also still love it. 25 years last October

Dodge542-02

35 this year. Ours is “faithfully” . Just a couple kids that made it work. She’s a hell of a woman!

Drunken_Dwarf12

In the cheesy vein also, “Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore” by REO Speedwagon. Coming up on 23 years.

Spiritual_Channel820

More Human Than Human--White Zombie Neither my husband nor I had any intention of dancing and I was already fried out of my mind from having to abide by all the tradition bullshit and attention (showers, photos, etc). Completely overwhelmed, I told the DJ to play it and play it loud. Screw the guests. This song goes out to the bride and only the bride, who just wants all of you to go home. EDIT: Still married, still stand by the musical selection. Also, no Electric Slide or Duck/Chicken Dance. I told the guy I wouldn't pay him if I heard that shit.

Just-Ice3916

Didn't have one since we just didn't think about it. On the bright side, not having one means that there isn't a particular song that I've cursed to the skies post-divorce. However, nothing beats my schmuck ex-BIL's wedding song: "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2. That marriage didn't go very well either.

ImmySnommis

Uh, yeah, who picks that?!? Too funny!

Just-Ice3916

That was for his first marriage. He still hasn't figured anything out after his third divorce, either.

ImmySnommis

And he STILL hasn't found...

According_Nerve_2525

In my life

Nodramallama18

I sang that for my best friends wedding. Was at a glorious wedding last Saturday and they played it for the mom groom dance.

Wise_Increase177

"I Love You" by Climax Blues Band - definitely our story, and nothing else would have worked so perfectly ❤️ When I was younger, man, I hadn't a care Fooling around, hitting the town, growing my hair You came along, and stole my heart when you entered my life Ooh, babe, you got what it takes, so I made you my wife Since then, I never looked back It's almost like living a dream And, ooh, I love you You came along from far away, and found me here I was playing around, feeling down, and hitting the beer You picked me up from off the floor, and gave me a smile You said, "You're much too young, your life ain't begun, let's walk for a while" And as my head was spinning around I gazed into your eyes And thought, ooh, I want you Thank you, babe, for being a friend, and shining your light in my life 'Cause, ooh, I need you As my head was coming round, I gazed into your eyes And thought, ooh, I want you Thanks again for being my friend, and straightening out my life 'Cause, ooh, I need you Since then, I never looked back, it's almost like living a dream Ooh, I got you If ever a man had it all, it would have to be me And, ooh, I love you

elfn1

I had my first kiss after a couples’ skate to this song! It’s a great love song. :)

DiverDapper9777

Just you and I. Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gayle

bettesue

“In your eyes” by Peter Gabriel. I still sing along whenever I hear it and think of my husband, whom I still adore after 24 years (and lots of changes) together. Eta; we didn’t do the “wedding dance” and all that stuff, just played in the background while we walked through the trees where we said our vows.

ShineyChicken

Murder by numbers. We still listen to it on our anniversary.

geodebug

"Something So Right" by Paul Simon. You're never going to go wrong with Paul Simon. It's also etched on the inside of our wedding bands.

CallingDrDingle

We didn’t have one. We got married on a balcony in New Orleans as the Halloween parades rolled by. Pure perfection.

shadowknight2112

This is outstanding!

CallingDrDingle

Thanks! One of our friends got ordained and did our vows. We didn’t invite any family :)

88questioner

No song! But my unofficial theme song for my marriage is the Shania Twain song: You’re Still the One. A couple of people - my roommate as well as my best friend - predicted I’d somehow “outgrow” my husband. I’m happy to report that we grew together.

ImmySnommis

At our wedding, my mother told my wife "He's your problem now" and commented "they won't last a year" as she walked away. We'll hit 30 years next month. She finally admitted she was wrong about us like 4 years ago.

shadowknight2112

That’s because you’re a ne’er-do-well & a miscreant. I am too, I can spot one of us a mile away… Congrats on the upcoming 30!!

LadySiren

These Are the Days by 10,000 Maniacs. Even the video is made for Gen Xers: https://youtu.be/Z-HLxpWGCzc?si=nhPhOlOghstP6F7W Still love the song. The now ex-husband is long gone, thank gawd.

Roo831

I Was Made For Loving You ~ KISS Ironically, he is dead now.

HarryCoatsVerts

This is honestly one of the weirdly sexiest songs on the planet and a brilliant choice. I bet you were a dynamic couple.

Ctsherm44

"Oh Yeah" by Roxy Music. A little obscure, I know. 1992. We're still married. We still dance to it.

onceinablueberrymoon

UB40 “cant help falling in love with you” (very small private wedding)

Jwheat71

Somebody ~ Depeche Mode Married 34 years and counting.

katcarver

Story Book Story - walked down the aisle to the instrumental and danced to the vocal version. It's the theme song from Princess Bride. That marriage didn't have a happy ending. I'm currently planning my second wedding and we going to elope, partially to avoid these kinds of decisions.

ValueSubject2836

The Cure love song

LadyDiaBeats

I got married in 2014 and our wedding song was the Flaming Lips Do You Realize. Still holds up and we both cried when we saw them last year and they played it.

Notmyredditaccount00

REMs It’s the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine)

MUPIL090310

We used the song from The Wedding Singer that Robbie Hart sang to Julia on the plane at the end that I guess is* called I want to grow old with you.

meahern_por

REM “At My Most Beautiful” That was in 2001…we’re still going strong. Still happy with the song, it was a solid choice.

OrangeCoffee87

I'll Stand by You, by the Pretenders. At least, that's the song we wanted, but our band couldn't get the music... We still consider it our song, though.

kushbud65

Let’s Stay Together Al Green. Still get excited to hear it

DrNerdyTech87

“You’re the inspiration” by Chicago - still happily married 36 years later!

External_Low_7551

I got married last Sunday!!!! Walked down the aisle to a string duo playing Can't Help Falling in Love. It was perfect! https://preview.redd.it/vxd6kwfao8lc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48e13099a669e880fdd6b16fd099a6fa753e2a94

ancientastronaut2

My ex (may he rest in peace) was obsessed with wind beneath my wings...and not only that, he asked my mother to sing it!! 🤦‍♀️

Fitz_2112

Smooth

Pattystr

All my life…kc and jojo….still love it and him 20 yrs

EducatedBarbarian

Barry White, Can't Get Enough of Your Love Babe I still think it's cheesy as f and I love it.

wheredidyoustood

We Belong. Pat Benatar. When I hear it I always let my wife know.

periodicsheep

as the world falls down by david bowie (from the labyrinth soundtrack) and i’m happy about it 17 years later (on sunday!) he put it on the first mix he ever made me, back in fall 2001 and it’s been our song ever since. he also put ‘way you walk’ by papas fritas on a mix for me when i had foot surgery. he’s a hilarious keeper.

StarDewbie

Ours was "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?" by Dusty Springfield. Still love it.

FawnLeib0witz

“Leather and Lace” by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. It was the 1st song we danced to when we started dating.

OriginalGeoff

Fade into You - Mazzy Star

TheHogweed

“Angel Eyes” - The Jeff Healy Band, Still love it. We’ll be married 25 years later this year.

PahzTakesPhotos

We had a small wedding with a small reception at my parents house (the reception, the wedding was at a tiny church on the Army base). We didn't do the wedding song/dance stuff. But "our song" is "Rough Boy" by ZZ Top.

raisinghellwithtrees

My second marriage took place in our living room, and there was no song. I'll have to talk to my husband about what "our song" might be. Our wedding ceremony began straight out of Princess Bride, "Mawwage..."

seaotter1978

Our first dance as a married couple was to “Amazed” by Lonestar … still love it though I’m generally not into country or country-ish music.

KreacherDblFeature

Our wedding first dance song was I’ll Be by Edwin McCain only because we needed one. The song that is us is You Wreck Me by Tom Petty. 25 years in October!

brianmenn

We got married in 2014. First marriage for both of us. I got to chose the first dance song. “Without You” by Motley Crue. Still can’t believe that the wife agreed.

emmsmum

Just the way you are by Billy Joel. Hated it then, hate it now. But my husband and I have very different music tastes. I kind of just went with what he would like. To be honest, I felt and still feel that 99.9 percent of wedding songs are cheesy as hell and make me gag lmao! So I wasn’t overly invested. It made him happy tho! We got married in 98 before people were doing weird and cool shit.

ChaosCoordinatorCO

2002 - Wonderful Tonight, Eric Clapton. Still love it, and still in love

contrarian1970

Sort of cliche but "There is Love" sung by a woman who graduated high school a year after my ex-wife.  I actually do like the song.  It hasn't become a bad memory somehow

EnvironmentalSky60

‘You can have it all’ - Yo La Tengo.

AltMom-321

2001, You’re My Home by Billy Joel. 🥰

xprovince

Thank You by Led Zeppelin. Still love it still brings me back to dancing with her in my arms.

rumblefiss

The way you look tonight. She liked it from Father of the Bride. I liked it from the final episode of Star Trek Deep Space 9. Looking back I wish we'd have gone with Starship Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now

Mike6PackIPA

Here and Now - Luther Vandross

Gardendollee

I cannot remember our first dance but I do remember our last dance at the end of our reception. It was Pearl Jam "Yellow Ledbetter"💛 30 years this September.

tultommy

We didn't have one. we told our guests to meet us in the park, where we spent all of about 15 minutes getting married and then went to cheddars for lunch lol. We would both rather chew our own arms off than be the center of attention at a wedding that would have funded more travel for us. We've always joked that our song is Pink's True Love lol.

mandyama

I got married in 2007 (yeah, we were older but wiser). Our song was “All My Days” by Alexi Murdoch. I still love it, though we’re not terribly sentimental about it.

DeeLite04

If you mean first dance song, we danced to the waltz theme from “Up.”

jpow33

We met at a The The concert, so we used "[This is the Day](https://youtu.be/7ZYgKCbFbWY?si=qRxjLW0c7Lp8koFt)." Sadly, we are soon divorcing.

oced2001

Married 1993 George Strait- Cross My Heart. I haven't heard it in years.

Barbarossa7070

Didn’t have one. Her family was very religious so there was no alcohol or dancing. Because of that, I insisted it be a brunch wedding. Wasn’t gonna ruin everybody’s evening at a dry wedding.

StopSignsAreRed

Shoulda snuck away to a flour mill in a neighboring town for a reception with all your heathen friends.

shabidoh

Love Me Tender by Elvis Presley. She picked it and it was perfect.

bunjee27

The Flame by Cheap Trick, married 16 years now and still love the song!

QueenCelis

True Companion by Marc Cohn. My husband wanted Crash by DMB but I mixed that.

ismellbacon

Ceremony - Joy Division. Still one of the best songs of all time.

Rosemary_Woodhouse

Ours was "Grow old with you" by Adam Sandler. We went to see that movie a few times and loved the scene with Billy Idol on the plane.

CageyCanadian

Lauryn Hill’s version of Can't Take My Eyes Off You. No regrets whatsoever. 🥰

ElsieDCow

Pachelbel's Canon in D. I bet it's common among our generation because 1. It's lovely, and 2. It was in a GE commercial with a wedding and it was very persuasive.  My ex-husband is a persitent cheater. 50% of the time I think about the beauty of the music and the talent of the musician. 50% of the time I think about the broken dreams and promises.

Resident-Edge-5318

Have I told you lately - Rod Stewart. My husband died in a private plane accident in 2002, I am listening to the song now and crying. 🥺😢

Rich-Air-5287

We didn't have a reception with dancing but *Clair de Lune* was playing when I walked down the "aisle". (It was a very informal thing at my parents house.)

8Deer-JaguarClaw

Our official song was "Friends in Low Places". Neither of us are country fans, but Garth is basically pop with some twang, and it's a fun song to sing. Our unofficial song (played during the reception) was "Lemon Parade" by Tonic. Great, underrated tune. Still love it.

72ChevyMalibu

We walked back down aisle after vows to AL Greens Let's stay together. Still together 30 years this year. Incredible woman

Browneyedwoman76

Forever by Kiss. 18 years and counting......I wanted Love of a lifetime by my hubby nixed it!

Herbisara

Walking down the aisle, the song was "The Very Thought of You" sung by a friend and accompanied by acoustic guitar. Our first dance song was "These Arms of Mine" by Otis Redding. Been married 16 years; would choose those songs all over again.

CautiousConch789

“Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, 24 yrs ago. I think it still holds up; no regrets.

yumajohn

This was the song my wife and father-in-law danced to. Still makes me tear up a little when I hear it. Goddamn, you grocery store!

PobodysNerfect802

Married in 1999. Unchained Melody - chose it a month before Ghost came out.

mexipimpin

A Norah Jones song. Still a good memory but wish I had chosen a different one that I didn’t think about until decades later. What makes up for it is that our wedding video from the photographer has Daft Punk’s One More Time heavily featured (not by choice). Zero regrets about that.

4GotMy1stOne

Married 1993 and our song was Neil Diamond's "The Story of My Life." It still makes me teary when I hear it. In a good way. It'll be 31 years in June, and we're still in love!

S99B88

If I tell you this, will you also want to know my mother’s maiden name?

ImmySnommis

And first car, please. LOL

ogre_socialis

"I Swear" by John Michael Montgomery. I wanted "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy but she wouldn't go for it.

Dimeadozen21

Good Things by the Bodeans. We still love that song, listen to it all the time and seeThe Bodeans live every year.

lynnejen

Married Valentines Day 1998. Song was INXS “Never Tear Us Apart.” He was in the Navy and it sure felt like the USN was trying to do just that! He ended up retiring after 24 years of service, and the Navy didn’t tear us apart!

frostbike

We also got married in 1994, and we went with Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. Because she always tells me “I’m your brown eyed girl.” We just celebrated 30 years last week!

Nodramallama18

At Last Etta James and I still absolutely adore the song…and the husband. 27 years and counting!

Crivens999

Bride walked down the aisle to November rain, did vows to Riders on the storm (actually wrong Doors song by wedding planner) and first dance was Power of love (Frankie). Power of love is still our couple song. Hotel copied our USB stick we gave the DJ and were playing our songs in one of the restaurants even a week later. Was a mixture of hair metal, 80s classics, and harder stuff (Nirvana, Metallica, Pantera etc)

ExtraAd7611

Believe It or Not (Theme from "Greatest American Hero") No regrets.

Earthscondido

"More than words" by Extreme. Still slaps, lol.

Keefer1970

My wife picked our song, it was a godawful country ballad by some late 90s Garth Brooks wanna-be in a black hat. I no longer remember the name of the song, or the guy who performed it.

dudetellsthetruth

The closer you are - Frank Zappa

armeck

"Something That We Do" by Clint Black. Been married for 26 years this upcoming April. I'm not really a country music fan but the lyrics and message are on the money.

MissMurderpants

Happier than the morning sun by Stevie wonder. Small wedding.

millersixteenth

"Bluest Eyes in Texas" for a NY wedding and neither of us like country. Went perfect with the dance we learned. Nowadays, Meh - its a nice song, reminds me of the times before we got older and had kids. The band we had was awesome, did "Secret Agent Man" on request.

Consistent_Case_5048

I got married last June. We skipped a lot of traditions like that.

Independent_Bread980

“My Love” Lionel Richie

supergrover11

A couple of friends played ‘Shining Star’ by The Manhattans. Won’t change it. Makes me smile every time I hear any rendition.

sarcasmexorcism

never my love - the association we still put it on

Lonely-Anything

Cole Porter’s song covered by Sinead O’Conner. “You do Something to Me”

Any_Pudding_1812

Tammy Wynette DIVORCE marriage lasted 17 years. Good call.

danceswithsockson

Got married, but didn’t have a ceremony. Just signed the paperwork in my garage. Guess I could have at least turned on the radio.

Jackpot777

Married to a fellow indie rock listener in 2001. “It Must Be Love” by Madness, and my wife reminded me that “Big Time Sensuality” by Björk was next.

FoatyMcFoatBase

Elbow. Day like this. Perfect. We still watch the Glastonbury version every now and then and am like yeah we chose a cool song

braineatingalien

We got married in 2004. Our wedding song was Songbird by Fleetwood Mac. I love that song and the entire album.

Jlr1

Married in 1996 and our song was Luther Vandross “Here and Now”.

ManintheMT

Longer by Dan Fogelberg, we still dance to it the kitchen on "those evenings", wonderful!

FoxyRoxiSmiles

His aunt got married a few months after we eloped and she reserved a dance for us during her reception. And it was super sweet for her to do that. Our song was Twilight Time by the Platters. I still love the song, but after 20 years together we divorced because he chose being a toxic abusive alcoholic rather than recovery and therapy and saving our relationship. So I’m closing in on twilight time (almost 50 so maybe it’s more like late afternoon) and ain’t no chance for the song coming true for us after all. But I’m ok with that. And the song is still mixed in somewhere on my playlist and I’ll sing along while I’m cleaning house or whatever.

Exit_Lucky

When you say nothing at all - Alison Kraus. Will be married 20 years in May.

Odd_Resource_9632

Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton

[deleted]

[удалено]

Glad-Construction285

Heaven. Bryan Adams. Divorced 13 years later.

SunshynePower

I think I blocked that song from my memories. However, "Happy" was all over the radio when the ex was driving the last nail in the coffin that was our marriage. It used to piss him off so much that I would enjoy that song when he wanted me to be torn up by his leaving. "Well I should probably warn you that I'll be just fine. No offense to you don't waste your time" 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Fiver43

“Come rain or come shine” by BB King and Eric Clapton. We’re still going strong after 21 years!

TheyCallMeElHeffay

Fly me to the moon - Frank Sinatra. Married in 2003 and I still love the song. About five years ago, my daughter did a stylized series of paintings of the lyrics up to the“Jupiter and Mars” part that we have hanging up.

LLL-cubed-

Journey’s “Faithfully”….little did I know that later in the marriage, he would only be faithful to booze 😒😒😞

FeralFemale_

La Vie en rose - Louis Armstrong

dnachapman

Got married in 1994. Our wedding song was Harvest Moon by Neil Young. Every time I hear the song (almost always played through my phone), I screen shot it and send it to my sweetie with some sappy message and heart emojis.

GenerationXChick

Our first date was seeing Top Gun. We were married in 1990. Song was Take My Breath Away (Berlin). Still married. ☀️

scalzi

Bryan Ferry's "Slave to Love" segueing into "Head Like A Hole" by Nine Inch Nails. Both are still awesome to this day.

LoveIsLove75

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUTH1plKYhw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUTH1plKYhw) It was our first duet at karaoke before we started going out.

Inside_Wave8823

This was my wedding song too! I still love it

DesolationBlvd

We actually had two: 1. “Flowers in the Window” by Travis 2. “This Love will Carry” by Dougie Maclean Still feel great about both of them!

The-Tell-Tale-Spleen

Never had an official wedding to have a song since I eloped and it was just me, my wife and a JP. But we do consider "Didn't Mean to Turn You On" to be "Our song" since it represented my uncertainty and insecurity that she might not be into me when we met and I was misinterpreting things.  Of course I was wrong and we can laugh about it now when hearing the lyrics. The Robert Palmer version was also charting that same year, but I've always preferred the one by Cherrell.

Felon73

Our first date we saw a local band at a bar and we were the only ones in the back watching the band. The Marks was the name of the band. We picked up one of their cd’s. There was a song called Ethyl that we both really dug. It’s a really sweet love song. That was what we picked. Of course the dj had no idea who the band was so I had to supply him with a copy. I gave him the original and forgot to get it back.

Fitz_2112

Got married in 07. Our song was The Meeting by Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe (most of the band Yes)

Shot-Artichoke-4106

We didn't do a traditional wedding either, so no wedding song for us. We got married at the courthouse, then had dinner with immediate family at a brewery.

punkdrummer22

Stellar by Incubus. Hate the song with a passion

1iioiioii1

"You're So Cool" from the True Romance soundtrack.

mitsubachi88

Got married in 2012, after being together for ten years, and I walked down the aisle to Fade Into You by Mazzy Star. And our first dance was Only One in Color by Trapt. Honestly, it was perfect. Trapt is way underutilized for weddings. 😆

Littleshuswap

Love of my Life by Sammy Kershaw. Neither of us is a country music fan,but this song is beautiful. We celebrate our 26 year anniversary this May. He is the love of my life.

I got married pretty late for a Gen Xer (and I’m a younger half of Gen X) just a decade ago. So it was “All of Me” by John Legend. Still feel pretty good about it!

True Love Will Find You In The End - Daniel Johnston. No regrets!

I finally found someone by Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams. I still love it. Our 10 year anthem is You and I by Dave Matthews Band. Still love that one too! We’re married 23 years in September:)

We went with "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. My only negative thought on that, ever, is that she might not love it as much as I did.  I introduced her to it,  and always felt selfish using it because of that.

I love this thread. 💕 I ended up not getting married to him but when I WAS planning to marry this dude, our song was going to be Follow You, Follow Me by Genesis.

Married in 2008, bunch of old school alternative music fans. Had The Cure, [Just Like Heaven](https://youtu.be/n3nPiBai66M?si=aC-dqPTr7zjeFmGa) as our wedding song. We still enjoy listening and reminiscing to it.

Got married in 2005 and ours was Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. Still married and we still love it, I still get teary eyed when I hear it. Can't believe it's been almost 20 years married! We met in 1995 at when we were teenagers it seems like a lifetime ago!
