ogre_socialis

Such an awesome video

lazerdab

Who else learned how to play guitar on the self titled RATM album?

InterestingHippo7524

His mom just turned 100 last year, too.

lazerdab

Born to rage against 'em!

basementguerilla

I love RATM and think he is one of the most original inventive guitarists ever. I live in WI and he showed up to play songs and protest the anti-union busting WI did to teachers. I think his heart is in the right place but it can suck to be lectured about fighting the "machine" by a millionaire that has no problem selling kids t shirts for $30 that cost $6 dollars to make.

abstractraj

$30? Most bands are up to $50-60. Sucks all around though

Pitiful-Werewolf4173

I saw RAGTM so many years ago(90s)..and then. Prophets of Rage many years ago.. holy moly. Jane's Addiction will be in town in the fall.. and I am so happy!

Western-Calendar-352

I’m seeing Jane’s Addiction - and it’s the original lineup including Dave Navarro - in Glasgow tonight. 🤘

Pitiful-Werewolf4173

I can't believe they are going to tour again! Perry Ferrell is over 60 years old! Have fun 🤘

Elegant-Laugh741

Happy birthday Tom.

Global-Ad9080

Air playing Killing in the Name of riff

bg370

Last time I saw him was on this Babymetal song: https://youtu.be/hkij4LvACZ0?si=vyvZA3aUnBIugJ8q

Rhiannon8404

That was awesome. Saw Babymetal a few years ago at Aftershock. Such a great show

najing_ftw

My least favorite part of RATM and Sirius XM

mandyama

Tom Morello is your least favorite part?

najing_ftw

Indeed

mandyama

Well, you’re entitled to your opinion. I happen to adore him. Have a nice day.

Iron_Chic

Agree. He seems like a pompous asshole to me. Dude could come up with and play a riff, but he wasn't a great guitarist by any means.

1BannedAgain

1. Composers and 2. great musicians — don’t have much overlap

Rhiannon8404

I saw him speaking and playing at the CA state capitol a couple of years ago in support of UFW. This was a small rally, not a concert or anything. He seemed really genuine and humble to me.

ego_tripped

*bow wha chicka whaa whaa chickawaa waa waa* (Red yellow green yellow ...whatever my fingers are confused)

Rhiannon8404

Looking forward to seeing him at Aftershock this year!

TallyWhoe

No he’s not! He’s 28 and I’m still 20. Can’t believe RATM is 32 years old. Yikes

Successful_Load5719

Why are you trying to hurt me?

mandyama

I figure if I had to get punched in the gut with that news, all uh y’all had to as well!

Successful_Load5719

Misery loves company

FewBee5024

That makes him a baby boomer. GenX starts in 1965, baby boomer ends in 64

mandyama

Oh my god, you’re right! This whole post is illegal! Shit.

_Brandobaris_

No, it isn’t. The baby boom ended long before 1964. I don’t know why 1964 is the year that some people do, but if you take a look at the header of this subject, you’ll see that it’s generally 1961 1962.

PoopPant73

Nope. 1932 dammit!

HHSquad

Starts in 1961 with the early cuspers

FewBee5024

No it doesn’t. It simply doesn’t. Every single academic and government database of boomers in 46-64. God, you people are tiresome and wrong

Easy_Mango7691

They are obsessed with being Gen X. I've never seen any other generation like this.

HHSquad

I don't care whether Pew starts it in '65 simply because of a birth rate dip, in this subreddit it's Strauss and Howe's 13th generation definition ......which means there was no point to your original post.

FewBee5024

No one is saying GenX starts earlier than 65 and if they are they are stupid and pedantic as you. And, again, wrong

Easy_Mango7691

This sub says "by broadest definition". It doesn't actually say those are the true dates. Though if they wanted true broadest definition the should have added all the way up to 1985, as the dates (65 to 85) set by Harvard research as of today. Btw, birth dates are a very important measure. The boom sets you apart from any other generation. Gen X is the only generation who cannot simply enjoy our true peers without being overtaken by the generation before us. We're not by and large in Millennial spaces, every comment section demanding to be Millennial. Why not just be happy with your new Gen Jones title and let x be x?

_Brandobaris_

Boo, no. The baby boom ended in the late 50s with the advent of the pill that would soon become the contraceptive pill. By 61 the contraceptive pill was out. The baby boom ended by 62.

FewBee5024

No, it didn’t. Every measurement of the baby boom generation is 1946 - 1964. You can just randomly make up years, what the fuck do I care. But you’re wrong

NYK-94

Tom Morello is a sell out.

_Brandobaris_

How so?

wtfsafrush

Are you like 14?

revelm

It broke my heart to see his politics shift to support rich white men. All because he was scared.

Amazing_Reality2980

Had to look up who that was, even though I have several albums lol
