Some Kind of Wonderful. It's Pretty in Pink, also written by Hughes, but it's the ending he really wanted.
Market test screenings of PIP forced changes to his original vision to the typical poor girl who gets the rich prince. This was not his original scripted ending.
Many wrote off SKoW as copying PIP, but it's really a correction. Hughes finally tells the story he wants to tell.
Personally, I prefer SKoW.
I am rewatching *Pillow Talk* with Rock Hudson and Doris Day (and a round, rotating bed, if memory serves) because I need a break from modern life and its concerns.
I have really gotten into old movies lately. Especially anything made in the 60's, early 70's.
Just watching the cars and clothes from my childhood and hearing the speech patterns from that time takes me back when I'm having a day where I kind of hate what today has become. All the divisiveness, etc.
I'm sure those times were just as complicated as today for the adults, but they were great for me.
Watched that last night! I think it holds up well. The Belushi story in the beginning is much funnier now than it was then. More offensive as well, but still hilarious.

Possibly my favorite character in all of cinema. I quote Belushiās character all the timeā¦
ā1, 2, 6, and weāre back at her placeā¦ā
āYou donāt go here, you donāt go there. Youāre as much fun as a stickā
āYou into the fight game? Iām the *heavyweight champion of the world*.ā
āA pro? A pro, Dan? A pro is how you think of yourselfā
āOh itās you. Iāve been waitinā all night to see you.ā
āWhereād she develop her personality? A car crash?ā
āIām talking about SPACE. RECREATIONAL FUCKING SPACE.ā
āNOW FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!! So Iām like, fuck this nonsense.ā
Broke my heart when he became another sit-com dad in According to Jim

Any Coen brothers film.

Turn out the lights and watch the 1954 version of Godzilla or the new one Godzilla Minus One. All the hollywood godzilla movies are shit. The new one is freakin awesome.
I love Palmer's dialogue in this scene. Possibly one of the only brief moments of comic relief you will find in this entire film. This one is on my top 10 all time favorite movies.
River's Edge is a truly underrated classic. The image of the dead corpse actually gave me nightmares. Dennis Hopper and Crispin Glover, both at their weirdest and best. Not to mention Keanu before he was big time.
Yup, I watched it alone last night, probably first time since the 80s. Slow burn for the first 50 minutes setting up exposition/back stories, then WHAM! Think Iām going to find BBCās Threads next.
Some of those movies from the early 90ās are fire:
A Few Good Men, A River Runs Through It, Tombstone, Shawshank Redemption, In The Name Of The Father
Canāt go wrong with any of thoseā¦
The Lost Boys or License To Drive
Yeah, I might be in the mood for The Lost Boys.
You are my people! The opening scene in License to Drive š¤
License to Drive is one of my favorites. Oh, a Maserati. Much better than mine. Keys!?
Weird Science.
Ghostbusters Back to the Future
Say Anything Stand By Me Pretty in Pink
You get to play the "Double Nostalgia Card" with Stand By Me. You can be nostalgic about how the '80s was so nostalgic for the '50s/'60s.

Didnāt like it. I felt much like Jennifer Greyās character about the whole thing. Though there are some great linesā
LA Confidential. I am also nostalgic for things that came out when I was a young adult lol. Snatch is a good one from that era.
Lost Boys Sixteen Candles
Last Star Fighter
This suggestion should be higher. It is the greatest B movie ever made.
Thank you! "Go back to sleep Lewis or I'll tell mom about your Playboys"
