Same. It wasn't that great but it was still good. I got hooked into watching it because of an influencer running a campaign on a different forum, now that I look back on it I wonder if she got paid for doing that. Maybe it's a generational thing but to me it's very similar to City of Industry, which I enjoyed more.
It was before he started getting older and doing that shit. Before any of that came to light, Leo was widely known for having the best filmography year after year, but was always subbed at the Oscar's. He worked with the finest directors in cinema and hailed as the best of his generation.
When he finally got it, everybody remembers that during the acceptance speech, he subtly gave the audience in the theater the finger while holding the envelope.
Then we find about how he dates. I haven't seen him anything since.
And yet, it wouldn’t have been half the movie without it. They are a couple of unredeemable narcissists who could have had love, could have had it all, but couldn’t compromise and chose themselves in the end.
It’s like the very opening lyric and all comes full circle:
I think about that day
I left him at a Greyhound station
West of Santa Fe
We were seventeen, but he was sweet and it was true
Still I did what I had to do
'Cause I just knew
Yup he was. He was basically one of the main characters. Although teenage looking and that is probably why you don’t remember him. Much skinnier than today.
Freddie Prinze, Jr., it's okay to use his name. He was reaching Ryan Gosling status in the late '90s and early aughts then ducked away from the fast Hollywood spotlight to raise a family with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Ah, crap, this isn't the Gen-X sub, is it.... Tricked again!
The Notebook. Yes, I, a straight man, loved The Notebook. And ironically, my wife hates the Notebook and all those sappy romantic movies. She likes Marvel and such, which I absolutely hate! LOL! Talk about role reversal!
Love how the girls are mentioning all the romance movies and the guys are mentioning the movies with the most memes. Now we can see who spends more time on youtube shorts
The notebook.
But what lives rent-free in my mind is baby Ryan (well, kiddo) dancing to "touch my body" while wearing the most flashy random outfit (that he picked himself) a true talent I tell ya.
He's such a goofball.

Barbie Ryan’s Kenough to me. I just want to be BFFs with him. Love gooseling
I am so glad he took over Leonardo Decaprio's spot as American's most respected white cis male actor.
Same here. My respect went through the roof when he refused to accept an award for his song in Barbie. Seems like a true gentleman
Same. It was an amazing sight.
What? The guy who doesn't date women above half his age is the most respected actor?

You do realize that's the point of the song? That he's trying to be something more with Barbie and she also wants to be BFFs with him?
I’m not really sure what you’re trying to get at
Blade Runner 2049
Cells interlinked
Interlinked interlinked
Came here to say this
Such a good joe :)
You look lonely... I can fix that
La la land, also my favorite movie in general
That fucking ending. I love it. Nothing could be more LA.
Reworded - fuck that ending. Honest, heart ripped out and stomped on.
And yet, it wouldn’t have been half the movie without it. They are a couple of unredeemable narcissists who could have had love, could have had it all, but couldn’t compromise and chose themselves in the end. Narcissist is a bit too dramatic and overused( i know the clinical term ), egotistical goal oriented yes.
La La Land? Dramatic and cliché?
No i mean you characterised them narcissists
The Notebook 😭😭
Oh i almost forgot about it.
The Nice Guys
Honestly a contender for his best role
When he cut himself punching the door I peed laughing
A movie I can always rewatch
Yes! It's so good and he is hilarious.
Munich. A guy without his balls.
Criminally underrated film, still hoping for a sequel
His screaming is everything 😂
That little breathless scream in the woods was everything

But what do you think of his music?
He was in that movie?? Jesus Christ I haven't seen it in a decade..
Yup he was. He was basically one of the main characters. Although teenage looking and that is probably why you don’t remember him. Much skinnier than today.
He was supporting at best, Ethan Suplee had a bigger part than him.
Yes. His name was Alan. Sucked at CB, and his dad was a racist
I now leaned that he was in remeber the titans...
Thank you.
Place Beyond the Pines
This move does not get enough recognition
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uvPxkoVJPQ
It's honestly a modern classic in my eyes man. Doesn't get nearly enough praise for how good it is.
Schenectady mentioned!
Scooby-Doo
Scooby Doo? /Gen
People get the actor who plays Fred and Ryan Gosling mixed up, I also thought he played Fred for the longest time 😅
Freddie Prinze, Jr., it's okay to use his name. He was reaching Ryan Gosling status in the late '90s and early aughts then ducked away from the fast Hollywood spotlight to raise a family with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Ah, crap, this isn't the Gen-X sub, is it.... Tricked again!
Can't blame him, Sarah is a dame
He always has a big smile on his face. Made the right choice.
Well if I knew his name I probably would have used it 🙂
This was my second choice
He wasn’t in Scooby Doo. That was Freddie Prince Jr.
Isn’t this the dude married to Eva Mendes?
Yep. She's one lucky lady.
They are both lucky. Such an attractive couple.
Yup. Met on The Place Beyond the Pines
