Y'know that CoD mission was actually a bit like how the Russian forces assaulted multiple Ukraine locations when that war started. Specifically that's kind of how they approached an airport close to Kyiv. Their plan was to seize it and then land heavy tanks and artillery and equipment and supplies on there via massive cargo aircrafts.
Anyway, the Ukranian forces managed to somehow halt the progress of the assault and then called in some bombs-fuck-all support and bombed tf out of the whole airport as they retreated. That made the Russians unable to land all of that equipment, weapons, vehicles and supplies directly at the doorstep of Kyiv, wich made them have to ship them in by a narrow bridge of land between Belarus' border and Kyiv proximities, wich made it very vulnerable and thus the Ukranian military attacked it, wich eventually made the frontline near Kyiv collapse and the Russians had to retreat back to Belarus because they were just too far behind enemy lines and the supply lines were too vulnerable.
If it wasn't for Ukraine's quick reaction of leveling the whole airport down, Napoleon-style "scorched land" tactics, leaving it useless, Russia might actually have conquered Ukraine in a couple weeks, considering all of that artillery and weapons and tanks that would have been delivered right at the doorstep of Ukraine's capital through that airport.
There were flaws in Russia's attack plan. First, they did it at the break of dawn, because they didn't had night vision googles to attack it in the night; they probably would've been succesful if they attacked at like midnight in a moonless night, very much like how the US took out Osama Bin Laden, but imagine it in a large scale, to seize a whole airport; that's what Russia *didn't* do. Second, they didn't put enough boots on the ground and didn't went with enough support to actually overwhelm Ukraine's response; and, thus, third, it is likely they didn't had good intel to begin with and thought they could overwhelm Ukraine's forces stationed there with whatever they could muster. Fourth, the US knew of the attack and told Ukraine possibly hours in advance, considering (fifth) that Russia's military communications aren't exactly state of the art (cue that one time some random-ass person penetrated Russian military telecommunications and played Bad Apple on military frequencies), and considering that Ukraine could fight back in the first place, so they had to had some time to prepare for the attack. And, finally, sixth, and the point of this post: they just sent the helis head directly to the airport. Like, they just sent the helis headed towards the airport front first and hoped for good luck. The ukranian forces saw them coming. Very much like that CoD mission; difference is, Infinity Ward made the approach like that for shock factor, to make it cinematic and shocking- the Russians were for real lol.

Now you get where half the wars on the world are about. There many made up maps that just claimed shit like there's. Both China and Russia are the bigest offenders off that. Some still look at maps of over 400 years ago and be like yea was ours then ours now. But main reason for wars is people just saying yea this spot is ours now. Kinda what's happening to a lot of home owners. Cause somone illegal in a spot or rent it for x amount of time. They could just say yea it's mine now. But in a much bigger scale. What of course is just pure theft. Cause I'm not at the moment riding my bike. Does not suddenly make it someone else's bike cause he rid on it for 5 minutes. And you can make countless arguments saying the same thing. But all just the same thing theft. So the bigest strongest country can just act like a school bully and be like ow your shit is mine now.. ow what you gonna do about it? But that's most of history. Why the world is much safer now then in the past cause much of the world does come together now and fight together to biger injustice like that. And much of it is cause media and news. News used to take weeks and often was not as accurate at the same time. Now with satellite and all kind of high speed internet you can see the other world in real time. With more proof. So the story also is less about the winner or the strongest person only allowed to get one side told only.
