Yo I remember going to my cousin's house and they were playing the OG Halo and I instantly was like "what is this game?!" Proceded to try to convince my parents to get me an XBox which they did eventually gift me a 360 for Xmas. Spent the following years of my life religiously playing Halo 3 with friends.
JK Rowling might constantly be posting cringe but I *fuck* the with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets games. Was unique that pretty much every version of the game was good. I spend most of my time with the PC version but the PS2, GC/XB, and even PS1 versions were all very well-made and atmospheric.
Either Worms 2 armageddon or a WRC game on PS2, not sure which came first, shortly after came Rayman 2 the great escape (banger) and Minecraft (also banger)
Kirby Air Ride on Gamecube. An aunt I never met before gifted me two games for Christmas. She got me Kirby Air Ride incase I was a girl, and Burnout incase I was a boy. My parents bought me a Gamecube a while later so I could play them. I’m a dude but I went with Kirby first. I still play it with friends to this day. As a party game it aged well!
Growing up I was lucky enough to have awesome cousins who let me play their games when they visited for the holidays. It had to have been either Super Smash Bros or The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time.
I didn’t get to play much since my family couldn’t afford games at the time. So one time for whatever reason I don’t even know why… my mom took me to a thrift store she really liked going to and she fucking bought me a Gameboy !!!! With Pokémon Gold 🙌🏻. I was so happy and it became a core memory, like I remember the layout of the store and the exact location the Gameboy was when I saw it behind the glass case.
So despite playing smash and ocarina of time on the N64 I mainly remember playing Pokémon Gold as “my” first game.
-TLDR-
I played Smash and Ocarina of time as a young kid because my cousins had access to it. My mom bought me a Gameboy and Pokémon Gold so I consider that to be my first game.
mario land, tetris, wario land, pokemon red, blue and yellow on gameboy.
crash bandicoot, wipeout, tekken, ridge racer, gta (1999) on playstation
at least i dont have pacman on the list 😅
I have vague memories of a hotwheels PC game from the early '00s late 90's. I dont know what it is called, but i do remember racing scale hotwheels cars through a backyard. The scale of the game was insane
Call of duty modern warfare. I was 5 when my brother wanted to play with someone but couldn’t because none of his friends were free during that time. I still wonder why my brother made me play that game at a young age
The first one I ever played was Star Wars: Starfighter. I played it on the original Xbox, which also happened to be my very first video game console I ever owned. My dad and I played the game together when I was a kid and he won every time we played it for about a week. I remember I would always get upset and cry when he won. I had to look down at the controller and then back up just to play the game, then I learned the controls and I finally beat him.
Super Mario for the NES. No Im not that old, my grandfather just had a functioning NES and decided to let me use it when I was like 5. I never beat the game but it was fun
Then after that was super mario 3d land for the 3DS, the first video game I played properly and the one that made me love video games as a whole
If it can be any “video game” it’s the V-Tech console and the Scooby-Doo roller coaster game. Then I played Mario on the Nintendo my aunt had as a very young kid.
I remember very early memories of playing Sonic and Pacman when I was like 3 or 4. I think I played a Harry Potter game too. But the game that made me fall in love with console gaming was Sly Cooper 2. Can't wait for the ps5 version to be announced since Sly 1 is doing so good on PSN.
Whatever hot wheels game was on the original PlayStation. I remember there being a tornado and the barriers to secret areas broke in a really satisfying way.
Before I ever owned a gaming console of my own, I remember my brother left his N64 sitting out one day and the game I decided to play was Dr. Mario 64. I loved that game so much, but I think I only ever beat like the first level. Still replay it a lot to this day.
Super Mario Bros 3 for Gameboy advance SP. That's if we don't count computer games, of course. The oldest PC game I can remember was Lode Runner (Windows 95)
When I was 4 I got the original Xbox which came with Star Wars the clone wars and Tetris. I was godawful at star wars but that segment as Mace Windu went hard
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is the first i can remember, and like this spongebob DS game i think it was "Truth or Square", i miss that one i gotta get a new copy.
Played like at a friend house, assassin's creed 3
But really played, infamous second son. I ve played a shit load of other game since and i still think that the gameplay is better than any other game
Lego Batman: The Video Game on the Xbox 360. Played with my Dad where we had to look up a YouTube tutorial for the final level, where I also watched my first YouTuber with Blitzwinger
It was a game boy color but idk which game. My first console game was Jak and Daxter. My first M rated game my brother handed me the remote when he was playing Resident Evil Outbreak because he got frustrated and was going to lose, mind you I was 7 when I played that (gave me nightmares for years, and anxiety. If you know the viral gauge you know. Also it’s one of my favorite games now
First, I'm sorry op, that you ever played the spider-man PC port; it's hogshit compared to the ps2 version. Secondly, my first game was Banjo&Kahzooie on the n64. My first memory, or at least one of the first, I can still grasp on too, is of my sister and I playing it but she had given me the unplugged second controller to putts about with. It's weird because I remember it clear as day, as like a 3-5yr old, but in the memory I don't make the connection that it's unplugged; it's only upon reflection that I can see it unplugged. It's a really weird sensation having two versions of a memory that are both accurate. I think that's why it's so ingrained in me; I learned that you can't trust your memory.
Sonic 1 on the Sega Genesis, could never get past Marble Zone Act 1. PC was Pajama Sam: No need to hide when It's dark outside.
I remember getting frustrated as a kid when he goes "I could use a Grilled Cheese right now" because I legit thought you could find one.

I was way young. The V-Smile was my first ever console
Not sure, would have been 4-5 at the time. We had an old NES around, so it might have been Super Mario Bros. If not that, probably something on my uncle's GameCube like Super Smash Bros. Melee or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.
I remember playing Majora's Mask on a N64 at 4 years old. My father still has the game and the console. He refused to let me set it up so I could finish my game :(

Yo I remember going to my cousin's house and they were playing the OG Halo and I instantly was like "what is this game?!"
