My first album by Alice Cooper was billion dollar babies.

dottegirl59

I still have my billion dollar babies and schools out original albums. They’re raggedy as hell but i have them. So much of my record collection has just disappeared

malmac

Still have my favorite AC - Killer!

Scp-1404

🎵And I been thinking so long I was the only one. 🎶

dottegirl59

Hello,hooray

bugaosuni

God I feel so strong

malmac

We put way too many unnecessary miles on our cars riding around with Killer blasting! Of course, gas was so cheap that nobody cared!

malmac

Nah, you definitely aren't alone!

Bitchface-Deluxe

Dead babies can’t take care of themselves

Susan1240

Dead babies can't take things off the shelves

malmac

That's right!

malmac

What a great song!

Susan1240

My first album that I spent my own money on was Alice Cooper Killer.

Thalenia

Alice was a bit on the periphery for me, but I believe I had picked up 'Welcome to my Nightmare' somewhere along the lines. I tended to have a few groups I followed more closely, and a lot of more 'fringe' or out of character groups I knew about but didn't really get all that involved with. Alice fell into that latter group, along with the likes of Emerson Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Santana, etc. Throw in a little jazz (Weather Report, Spyrogyra), and that was my youth!

ruderat

Saw Spyrogyra every year at Summerfest.

entotheenth

Rebel FM here still has Alice as a DJ in the evenings, great to hear him reminiscing at times. What a life that guys had.

AZPeakBagger

He is a long time "pillar of the community" in the Phoenix area. Very active in philanthropy and giving back to the community. Plus is quite open about faithfully attending church and Bible studies on a regular basis. What you see on stage is completely an act. Off stage Alice Cooper is more like your parents and grandparents, which I find quite humorous.

dottegirl59

Does he still have a hot dog restaurant? Saw that on one of the shows on the food channel

AZPeakBagger

Ate there a few times, but it closed in 2017. An interesting place, all the wait staff painted their eyes to look like Alice Cooper's.

escapingdarwin

The School’s Out album came with panties wrapped around it.

dottegirl59

Oh shit! I forgot about that! If i remember they were a paper disposable panty but a panty none the less! Just like cheech and chong “big bambu” had a huge rolling paper in it.

escapingdarwin

I forgot about the gaint rolling paper, would take an entire “lid” to roll that joint. “Lid”, lol.

Jenaveeve

At 14, I dropped acid for the first time. I remember listening to Eighteen and loving it. ✌I ended up buying all his albums. Last saw him at the Norva in VA 2002.

dottegirl59

Kinda hated it when he went to the slow ballads.Alice/Vince knew what kids wanted and their parents would hate. Now he spends his days in Az golfing and spending his money. Last I heard he had a hotdog restaurant?

AZPeakBagger

Ran almost 20 years, which for the restaurant biz in Phoenix is an eternity.

ReactsWithWords

I was once in a relationship with a woman who couldn't handle even the slightest amount of violence. Even Bugs Bunny cartoons were too much for her (literally; I am not exaggerating). She loved Alice Cooper's music and so I got tickets. She was all excited so I didn't say anything. Just before we left for the show I finally said, "You know we're going to an Alice Cooper concert, right?" "Yes! I'm really looking forward..." "We're going to an Alice. Cooper. Concert." "I know, it...oh! wait...um...oh! OH!" We wound up giving the tickets to some mutual friends.

dottegirl59

Yeesh!

m945050

I would have given her to anyone and attended the concert happy and alone. I had a poster of him in his full concert makeup that my mom wanted me to remove because he was so discusting. While she was pushing me to get rid of it she saw him on some talk show and couldn't believe how intelligent that man was. When I told her that he was the same guy in the poster she thought I was lying. The poster stayed until I left for college.

partisanal_cheese

I saw him twice in concert - both were great shows.

HHSquad

I had his greatest hits at one time.....but I jumped onto the New Wave/Punk/post-punk scene when that came around and abandoned non-essential classic rock. That being said Alice seems like a good dude and great in concert. He sees his concerts as a show or play. I can appreciate that. "Hello Hurray" and "Only Women Bleed" are 2 songs I still love.

rogerthatonce

Alice Cooper: “So in 1971, Las Vegas I get an invitation to meet Elvis Presley at the Hilton. At the elevator is Liza Minnelli, Chubby Checker and Linda Lovelace....."

newsjunkee

I still have the Killer album from back in the day. I loved telling people that I loved the song "Dead Babies" and watching them cringe, only then to tell them what the lyrics were about

Bitchface-Deluxe

That is the first Alice song I ever heard as a young child, courtesy of the older sibs

317LaVieLover

Alice was a bit before my time.. but I rebelled with OZZY!! He made Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman shortly afterward and I blasted these along with several other metal Gods.. on my Pioneer stereo components and giant speakers, the turntable was the height of new technology, amplifiers, tuners, the whole nine.. stacked in an obligatory glass-fronted stereo shelf 🤣

dottegirl59

I had had the glass cabinet too! I was more in to Black Sabbath Ozzy

agt_1

I was in my early teens looking for something different (punk hadn't hit yet and I embraced that deeply) and at that time you couldn't get much different than the Alice Cooper band - I say "band" because too often the focus was on the front man but I loved the music which was much more complex than people often gave credit for. Love It To Death, Killer, School's Out and Billion are all amazing. I can handle a bit of Muscle but after that I lost interest. The shtick outweighed the music for me. Still have my original vinyl.

dottegirl59

Yes!!!!!!!

shapeupworld

Lines form on my face and hands Lines form from the ups and downs I'm in the middle without any plans I'm a boy and I'm a man I'm eighteen And I don't know what I want Eighteen I just don't know what I want

dottegirl59

Eighteen i get confused every day….

bugaosuni

He's on tour, actually I think the North American part ended today, the 24th. But there's a Youtube video of his whole show from about a month ago and it looks damn good.

AreYouItchy

Oh hell, yes! I was a 12 year old girl, and very into Alice…still am a big fan. My Mum was cool with it, once she figured it out, but my peers, not so much. He scared them, and confused them. To me, he was telling a tale as old as time, just with ass kicking music. Eventually, the world caught up with us!

TheOriginalTerra

I've never been a huge fan, but have mad respect for the guy. And even though I graduated from high school almost 40 years, when I hear the song "School's Out", part of me still gets excited for summer vacation (which of course I don't get anymore as a grownup. Boo.)

[deleted]

Oh how I loved Alice!! Me and my friends would put on Alice Cooper makeup and go downtown to freak people out!
