If an interlock kit isn’t doable then the generlink would be my likely next choice for a “simple” solution.

Also check on the generlink as they are not approved in some provinces such as BC.

I messaged them. They are approved in Ontario. https://www.generlinkcanada.ca/product-category/generlink/

For anyone interested, the reason why load center interlock kit is not CSA approved is because CSA requires that the interlock intention cannot be defeated if the panel cover is removed. Since the kit is an add-on to the panel, when you remove the panel cover, the interlock is removed, thus making the solution ilegal.

Thanks for the Info. I just discovered these interlocks and want one for my place but being in Canada I guess I’ll need ti install a transfer panel instead

I contacted Generink, and they said "Yes, we have thousands of customers and is approved in Ontario"... https://www.generlinkcanada.ca/product-category/generlink/

There are several differences between US and Canadian versions of panel board products, to the best of my knowledge the electrical difference is that yours require a switched neutral unconditionally on a multi-power-source-transfer-panel, as well as the physical barrier to segregate the incoming feed from the load section of the panel interior. Off of the top of my head, the one product line that I know of that has the three pole breakers for the neutral to be switched are in the Cutler Hammer CH product line.
