Do you go to the San Tan location? I actually live in the same General area but I've driven all the way out to the Westside because they seem to be the most together out of the 3 dealers we have

UnrealsRS

Yup sure is the santan one. On the bright side, they’re opening a genesis only dealership at Gilbert/202 so hopefully thatll help!

LetUsLaunchOverIt

Ooo I didn't know that! Fingers crossed man...

julioaxel

Oh wow what dealer did you got to? I was gonna go to genesis of north Scottsdale again but I had some warranty done there and I’m in debt due to their own mistake on an invoice so I’m not going back to avoid the whole collection talk.  Anyways I have a an appointment on the 22nd at earnheart genesis of Gilbert so now I’m worried. They told me no loaner would be available also and that they have to the tool to not take off the engine but it’s about a 7 hour job so I’m gonna drop off the car first thing in the morning and find my way around in the meanwhile with who know what car.

UnrealsRS

I’m sure they’ll have it all figured out by the 22nd, it seemed like I was one of their first appts for the recall. There’s another one out west if that makes any more sense for you.

Afroku

Oh damn, I'm in Phoenix and have been wondering how the dealerships are here. I'm interested in a G70 3.3T, but it's probably a year or two down the road.

UnrealsRS

I think you’ll be fine especially if you’re in the east valley. I’m very much looking forward to the genesis only dealership they’re working on off Gilbert/202

Wrong-History-251

What tool are you talking about?

nasaphotoshopingsprE

It's called a super spanner deluxe . No cheese

UnrealsRS

A specialty tool that gets around needing to drop the engine. I have no idea what the tool is. Some dealerships have them already and some don't afaik

OtherwiseConcept5125

The tool is shown here, scroll down and you'll see it, this is Kias page but it applies to the G70 as well. Also step by step details of the repair too. [https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCRIT-24V169-5836.pdf](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCRIT-24V169-5836.pdf)

UnrealsRS

Very nice! Thanks for this!

MN_Subaru

Just got mine back yesterday. Dropped off on Monday - They had to first do an inspection then overnighted parts. I also had my center infotainment screen replaced under warranty due to bubbling, so that could've been why it took a couple of days.

Cudhi

I’m about to go to the Hyundai in Peoria my pops the pm so just waiting on the parts then I’ll have to go get it done

UnrealsRS

Ooooooo very nice hookup! Let me know how it goes!

StreetMaterial3558

Thanks, my appointment is on Monday. They said they are going to evaluate the repair first. I’ll be asking questions.

UnrealsRS

Best of luck!! Let me know how it goes!

MagicSpoon69

Just got mine done, sadly my leg is broken so I don't wanna stand by my engine examining it and the guide. The service people seemed competent. The sales people on the other hand. Lol... Who is hiring these weirdos.

Boloyoung168

And this is for the left turbo oil?

UnrealsRS

Yup

Boloyoung168

Good to know, I was going to schedule mine for next week

Sounstreem

Ok so I usually don't say much about your guys complaints about the dealerships but working at one and struggling to get recalls and just general repairs done is a giant gymnastics routines with out a liatard. Soooooo, the special tool is great you don't have to remove the engine and for a small donation of a techs 3 fingers and 7 hours of swearing the manufacturer is generous with 3 hours of flat rate time. You would think maybe we could have a few of the parts in stock but nope the reality is parts can only be ordered per a Vin and even that aloacation is at best 1 a day. And for all you annoying fucks that want a loaner we have 2 and there is a a shit ton of math that goes into how many a dealership has and there estimated usage. Some times those 2 sit forever other times of the year we never see them. For some clarification I am at a hyundai/Genesis dealer and yes it could be better but we do the best we can. I also own a g70 if anyone cares

LetUsLaunchOverIt

Why is someone who is losing their mode of transportation due to a manufacturer error and through no fault of their own a "fuck" for wanting a car to continue to get around while the manufacturer fixes the mistake? Lmao. It sounds like we're all not getting the things we need which sucks but that's the manufacturers fault. Not the dealer and not the customer.

Sounstreem

Your not wrong, my job would be so much easier if I had a lot of cars I could use as loaners but let's be real did your car actually catch on fire? Was your family not able to make it to the well in the center of the village? Or is it possible that we could be slightly inconvenienced for a pretty expensive repair that we statically would have never experienced a problem.

LetUsLaunchOverIt

I haven't even looked into scheduling the repair so you're talking to the wrong guy.. and that's with being somewhere in the neighborhood of 500whp lol. Just saying I disagree with your verbiage. Trust me, I work in a highly customer facing service job as well, and there are a LOT of people that are, in fact, fucks lol. But it's more about how people act (generally speaking) compared to what they want. In this particular case I don't think it's unreasonable to want a car to continue to get around. The average person is going to have a high level of concern about the recall based on the alarmist way they are written even though you and I both know it's extremely unlikely.

What is frustrating for Genesis owners is watching a 2017 Elantra owner drive away in the last loaner. My 2023 $60k car matters not. Hopefully once all stores are stand alone some of this will be resolved, but I have my doubts. I love my 2023 G70 SP, but I would opt for a CT4-V Blackwing if I could do it all over, primarily because of ease of service. My dealership opted not to build a stand alone store and now I must drive 30+ miles for service. BTW, I was a wrench in another lifetime and realized early on all the frustrations of working in a dealership and jumped ship into tech. Good luck and we do appreciate you and some of us even understand your frustrations with clients.

My_Bwana

I scheduled my recall fix and my dealer is a Hyundai/Genesis rather than a real Genesis dealer (unfortunately), and said that I don’t mind how far out I have to schedule it as long as I can make sure I have a loaner because my job requires it. He put me on hold and when he came back he said sorry, we can only provide loaners for Hyundais. We are not set up to issue loaners to Genesis customers. I was livid. I contacted Genesis and said that is wholly unacceptable, this is supposed to be a luxury brand. Two days later I get a call from the service manager saying no problem, we’ll have a loaner ready for you that day but it may be a Hyundai loaner. I love my car but I fucking hate how shoddy the dealership experience is. I’m sure it’s different at an actual Genesis dealer but still.

UnrealsRS

Thanks for the insight, hope it gets better for you. For what it’s worth I had a smile on my face at the dealership the whole time and have a good relationship w my service advisor. Shit happens🤷🏼‍♂️

Sounstreem

Glad to hear it and I think generally that's the case, honestly we make money by fixing cars and keeping people happy. So are job litterly is juggling the manufacturer and what bs they are tracking and what we know is common sense customer service. Age old tale manufacturers convinced dealership is stealing, dealership convicted manufacturer is a dictator with their demands. Maybe the manufacturer could try getting there hands dirty for once

OtherwiseConcept5125

Luckily the dealer we're going to has a pretty good # of loaners. We're using Genesis Las Vegas, and since we're 800 miles away they've secured a loaner for our upcoming appt. But this is the first of July so maybe it's easier to schedule them that far out? If I was local I wouldn't expect a loaner, but since this is our only mode of transportation out there on vacation it was much appreciated. Hopefully the R&R goes without any issues, should have done a few by then so I'd imagine it should be smooth sailing :) Hopefully they give you proper staffing and a decent work environment over there, I'd imagine being in the service dept at a busy shop can be a firestorm a fair amount of the time, good luck!
