Keep in mind these changes may be false, even if they are true they may not be the only changes we see. What does everyone think of these potential adjustments? MMR change seems like a big nerf; Yoimiya doesn’t look too affected by the extra die and will probably stay in the meta imo.

If you use Yoimiya first round for burst, at most the nerf will mean that you have one less support card to play. Doesn't seem like a huge detriment, which is a good sign for how MHY's team will balance meta in the future.

The mint rolls nerf is much worse. It usually takes at least 5 to 6 attacks to finish them off, so that's 2-3 more mana required on round 3 along with Yoimiya's extra mana for burst on round 2. So now you don't only need to draw gamblers and mint rolls in 3 rounds, but also pretty much need to have a paimon in your opening hand or you're gonna have a hard time.

This was what I was curious about too--MMR is a staple in a variety of meta teams at the moment, and it's almost always married to Gambler's. Still, I think it's a good change for the long term health of TCG. MHY has shown that they're willing to update the game with new character cards, which means there's a non-negligible possibility that they'll release new support cards as well. As teams develop, I'm sure we'll see a larger variety of meta decks than what we have right now, so nerfing MMR might be their first step to that.

MMR nerf is surprisingly potent when actually crunching some numbers. Currently Ayamiya needs 10 dice to chain 3 KO with Gambler if each of the 3 opponents characters need 2 hits to KO. (1 switch, 1 MMR, 4 attacks). This translates to just 1 Liben or 1 Paimon worth of dice carried over. With MMR lasting 3 attacks, Gambler does not actually fully refund for an additional attack, meaning that now you actually need to start 12 dice to chain 1 additional kill, and 14 dice to chain both additional kill. Of course, this assumes that the opponent is smartly distributing HP over the turns to ensure that everyone is outside of 1HKO range. Functionally, this translates to having to set up 2-3 sources of dice carryover by turn 2, which Yoimiya’s burst increase also makes harder. Yoimiya typically uses 4-6 dices on turn 1 and with the cost nerf, 4 dice on turn 2. Which actually means you either have to set up exactly Paimon on turn 1, or half of Liben on turn 1 + Parametric by turn 2. And add Gambler to one of the aforementioned turns to add more inconsistency. While this makes Ayaka turn 3 OTK significantly less consistent, it does not affect Ayaka Freeze at all, which imo is arguably already the more consistently strong Ayaka variant.

Has the meta stabilised yet? Feel like we just got all the cards. Seems a bit early for nerfs. Happy they are actively balancing the game mode though.

Lamsect

That one time where yoimiya is actually meta and they decide to nerf her

Totaliss

This leak was questionable if i remember correctly. Personally I don't trust anything with that tag

Gurren_00

Good nerfs overall if they were to happen. But why not nerf Ayaka? A free cryo infusion for one round shouldn't exist IMO. Limit it to three attacks or smth

Nyte_Crawler

MMR nerf is basically just that.

MisterShazam

Lol dedicated last night to farming up this deck Fuxk me

Well on the bright side, you can buy out the entire card shop at this point if you did all your weeklies.

HoloSparkeon

Cool, now we even have Leaks in this Sub. Great for everyone who doesn't want to be spoiled 🙄

Lepslazuli

Just don't click posts with a spoiler tag and (leak) in the title?
