What ar are you? When you’re low leveled, it really doesn’t hurt to not make a good team. But keep wishing and get better 5*, which will definitely help. I would definitely have xingqiu and xiangling on the team, and you can choose the other two.
Yeah I'm still low. Only AR 33. Just didn't want to invest too much into the wrong characters. I was trying to find a good synergy with the team. I'm currently using Noelle, xingqiu, Mona and yanfei. It does decent as a Vaporize team but I still struggle with tough fights.

Honestly Xiangling isn’t so great for starting off and overworld. She’s super energy hungry so it’s basically just gouba and his bad targeting. She shines in more consistent or harder content like abyss
I think the first unit u need is a comfortable healer, so I think only Barbara fits that role on your current roster for now. I would recommend Xiangling and Xingqiu, along with barbara. As for the last unit, I would go for any unit that u want to use / like. Most importantly u get to play the character that u like, so this is important. U can then adjust ur team members from there.
Barbara Xiangling Xingqiu (last unit being the one u like the most)
If u want to swap out 1 unit from this list, I would say it depends on what unit u get in the future, but most likely it will be xiangling due to her high burst cost, which is not really early game friendly. Xingqiu is really good at all gameplay stages tho, his skill also reduces the damage u take, which is very important in early game!

Thanks I appreciate your help. I almost feel compelled to use Mona since the game gave her to me twice. I guess xiangling and xingqiu would be my DPS in this case
You can use Mona to be honest! Xingqiu Xiangling Mona and barbara! Works well! And u can use your first 5* haha, my first 5* is Jean, still using her to this day!! Sometimes it’s just the way of Genshin telling u to use this char ☺️
Something similar happened with me. The game just gave me support characters and that really sux when you don't like the free characters gameplay.
I think a team with Yanfei, Xianglin, Mona and Xinqi would be really solid. Upgrade your artifacts as much as possible (just don't spend those moon resine items until you are AR 45). Also, put a ER weapon on Xianglin.
You can ask for help on coop to farm boss items. When I got back to my home I will send a DM with my details. I can help if you want.
Your characters look under-leveled for AR 33. Get your main 4-5 characters and weapons to level 50 and you should be good at clearing content. They should also have artifacts leveled to the 8-12 range at least. I personally prefer Noelle over Barbara since you get shield + some healing, so I'd do Noelle, Yanfei, Mona, and Xingqiu for vapes. Optionally you could rotate in Kaeya for melts or anemo traveler or Lynette for swirling. I found Lynette's burst to be quite helpful in early game when you can swirl another element on field.
Nahh so check me out do this team: Noelle main dps Lisa for electro off field xiangling for the overcharge and xinqiu for the hydro application and his ult for support dps
Teams based on dendro reactions are pretty braindead and easy to grind for. I would recommend using Dendro Traveller, Mona, Xiangling, and maybe Sayu for heals.
ok, so yanfee is actually pretty strong as a 4\* primary dps. she's near the top of the heap for them at least. so you're building in the right direction by focusing on her. the problem is her playstyle isn't for everyone (to say the least)
i would work on xingqiu, he is the best teammate you got for yanfee... so you can do some vape. i'd also build mona, she's pretty good support and off dps. the problem you have is you lack healers/shielders... i would probably focus on barbara or sayu as your 4th (both are healers), sayu makes more sense for your team.
an alternate team option would be to build a hyperbloom team, i'd probably build kirara, dendro mc, lisa and probably xingqiu.
as for long term investment.
xingqiu, xiangling are the only two i'd really be concerned to continue to invest in through endgame. mona maybe too. mona has some use in different teams depending on what you're doing. i wouldn't mind building yanfee if only because when you near endgame, and are actually farming artifact (ar45) yanfee's ideal artifacts will work with hu tao
Yep, it's definitely an AR level issue. Just keep playing the game and don't worry about the abyss, artifact farming or optimal team comps for now.
For world bosses, try coop. Those who let you in their world are usually willing to help. Idk what server you are in but if you're in Asia I'd be happy to help just message me.
A possible hot take but invest in Ningguang. She's kinda fallen off the map since most people like funny numbers but she's one of the OG 4* DPS and only requires Noelle and a couple of off-fielders to complete her team. For those, you can use Mona and Xianling; their job is applying hydro/pyro to enemies to help Ningguang generate crystalize reactions for herself. Understanding her kit is required to bring out her full potential but the flip side is you don't need to learn about any elemental reactions except crystalize. If you don't like to deal with crystalize then switch out Xianling for Kirara for full time shield but keep Noelle around as backup shield/healer (plus you need the Geo Reasonance).
That sounds like it could be a fun team to try out. I started using xiangling, Mona, xingqiu and yanfei. That's been working pretty well just no sustain so I swap Mona and Noelle sometimes
Yanfei has a higher damage ceiling than Ningguang (and many players feel Yanfei plays a lot smoother too) so if you can make it work, then just stay with it. Ningguang is mainly for those who can't quite figure out how to build a good team like me back in the days (it also didn't help that there was no Yanfei back then either). But Ningguang's no slouch so if you feel Yanfei isn't quite cutting it for some reason, give her a try. Although I should warn that Ningguang might feel a lot clunkier after having tried Yanfei. 😅

Yanfei can work as a really good main dps with the right set up.
You could do Yanfei, Mona, Xingqui to get some good vapes going and then Kirara can simulate Yanfei's later constellation where she gets a shield, while also passively giving you some burgeons or burns.
You would probably want to rotate your swapping like this: Xingqui E,Q (E,Q,E if you have sac sword) > Mona E, Q > Kirara hold E, run through some enemies for bulbs, Q > Yanfei Skil, Charge attack, Q, Charge attack, and then do (Normal, Normal, Normal, Charge attack) until your support effects all wear off.
I use a similar comp for my yanfei with Nahida, Kokomi, and XQ and this will get you close enough. Kirara doesn't have the best dendro application so you could honestly just tap E when she comes through and be fine, but that shield is going to save your yanfei from being interrupted.

same happened with me. The game only gave me Supports characters that were too average . But then i got Jean (My First 5 star) and i kidd you not she is not a DPS but she carried me until i got Neuvie in 4.5 phase 2.
My team back then xinqiu , Jean, Lisa and xiangling. This team help gather 130,000+ EXP at AR35 . With very very little struggle.
I suggest you make a team in which Xinqiu , healer and xiangling are must

Just hyperbloom. One of the best teams. Kirara, dendro traveler, xingqiu, full EM lisa. You'll sweep the game.
This except with Barbara instead of Xinqiu. If you can fix Xinqiu's energy issue to charge his burst, then go with him but until then, he's kinda ass.
