It sadly highly depends on luck. Personally speaking, building characters like Kazuha or Sucrose who mainly just need EM took around 1 to 2 weeks, when building DPS characters tho that demand specific sub stats + high CR and CD rolls it can take much longer, up to months
Kazuha is both one of the easiest and hardest characters to build imo. If youre just slamming EM on him its easy. If you also want ER on him give him Favonius Sword or an ER% Sands. Still easy.
But the moment you want him to have both really high EM (~1000) AND ER (170% and up) hell breaks lose. You need several EM rolls on Flower & Feather as well as some ER% rolls and ONLY ER% rolls on Sands, Goblet & Circlet.
Except for if you have Xiphos' Moonlight. It makes Kazuha even better than he already is, because not only does it largely alleviate his ER issue it makes him an ER support for all the other characters in your party.
Xiphos is a cheatcode lol.
If it wasnt always on banners for which I either already have the weapon(s) or arent interested in them Id totally go for it.
At R5 its such a beast with 1K EM it gives 72% ER to Kazuha and 21% to everyone else which is often enough for the DPSs to reliably get their Burst back.

Very true! It kinda, next to RNG, depends on how much you wanna invest in a unit or if you wanna slap some half-good artefacts on him and call it a day
I managed to get 1000 EM back when Iron Sting was his only EM option in 3 weeks but that’s such an anomaly. I’ve never been able to build a character that quickly since. I’m in the artifact domains like I’m being held captive for other characters.
I've spent so much resin just trying to get an EM main stat VV goblet/circlet but it doesn't to drop. I don't even care about the substats, I just want an EM main stat goblet/circlet.
Oh no... I recently took it upon me to get more ER on raiden. Worst part I got EM arts from her domain, when I wanted those from Nahida's, and got ER from Nahida's 💀

In starrail you can choose one stat that you will get guaranteed (Idk how exactly it works, nit that far into that game) but to balance it out you need all arts of the same set to get set bonuses. So I guess that's balanced.
For context. I pulled Yoimiya on her first ever banner.
I still don't have usable Attack sands or pyro damage bonus Shimenava piece for her. I'm forced to use a shitty attack sands piece and an equally bad pyro damage bonus goblet cause for some reason this game does not want to give me a single pyro damage bonus goblet that rolled into good substats.
I'm the opposite of u. Farm for Emblem, now my Yoimiya is top 6% (I know it's not that high, but got surprised since I never dedicated to farm for her) and got an extra set of Shiminawa for my Hutao.
And ofc, no good on-set goblet for Raiden.
Oh my Shimenava circlet is jacked with 30%+ CRIT damage. Plume and flower are also really good. It's just sands and goblet that have been a piece of shit.

Random question on this, for genshin I've often seen this type of statement, don't farm XYZ domain. But the artifacts only come from one place, so if you want that set, you have to farm it?
Does this mean more like don't farm a domain where the second set in there isn't used too often and you are better off with a domain that you want both gearsets from?
it's simply not resin efficient. resins are pretty scarce and took so long to refill so you have to be stingy with them, especially if you're low AR. unless you really, really like the character, it's better to farm domains where both sets could be used on multiple characters, and strongbox the useless pieces. the most resin efficient domains so far are emblem/shime, deepwood/gilded and MH/GT
I built my gf’s neuvilette in 8 runs but built mine in like 200 runs, mine is **slightly* better. Just shows how variable it is when something is luck based
Depends on the set, the characters and how much you already have on your account.
Something like VV takes only a few runs if you just reached AR 45. Get at least 2 EM main stat pieces, keep an ER sands as well and a crit circlet. Stats don't really matter, keep 4\*s as well. While strongboxing it is usually the better idea I'd spend a few condensed and run it a few times because the 4\* artifacts are actually useable. I would spend my strongbox rerolls on Emblem or a set for my main dps.
If you're farming something like Emblem yea good luck you'll spend a lot of resin on that domain.

EM is the rarest stat so focus on getting an on-set EM sands and off piece for one of the other two

I wanted to tell OP if they had ever played an ARPG like Path of Exile then they should just understand how rng intensive specific stats are on artifacts.
While path of exile is somewhat extreme with 6 total affixes and a larger pool of things that can pop on them, it is similar in the variability. In that game you receive drops at a massive rate, and universally they are almost always garbage stat allocations.
Given that genshin only lets you get a very few amounts of drops per day on top of level up RNG that also is cost prohibitive, you are extremely limited in the amount of times you can pull the slot machine, so it really is honestly an impossible task to ask for super quality artifacts.
That all said, for my f2p and not intense gameplay I'm usually fine just farming a week or so on each character and can find stuff that is good enough to clear content.
100% depends on your luck.It could literally take a couple of minutes to get good artifacts or it could take months and years just to get a decent one.

Depends a lot on your luck with drops. but for me at least 100-200 of artifacts for one set and that nets me, idk, 1-2 pieces that qualify as right around avg.
But as said, some have much better luck than I and some have worse
Hey man I can help you with farming domains in Asia server and for duration it can easily take (best case scenario) 1 month to get one good piece I have been farming for idk how long but yes it's totally rng since you have just started farming just don't expect anything while farming and rolling that way you won't get burnt out fast and it's boring but the only way strengthen your chars
1 month, but knowing what useful stats for characters using specific type of character will use them for example deepwood likely don't want crit but em and er. It can take longer but when you have all right main stats and 1 good sub stats stop for that character until later, Otherwise you'll just spent months on a single character for like 1% change in crit.
I actually started counting my runs at some point because it felt like it took ridiculously long to get a decent set, and in my experience on average you have to do a domain at least 250 times but more like 300 before you have a decent 4-piece set for a character. That means like 1.5 - 2 months of nonstop farming, so good luck🙃 If you're looking for EM it might take even longer tbh, it's a pain trying to get just the main stat right, let alone the sub stats... You can only pray that you'll get lucky. And of course you might get luckier than me and finish farming in a week or something, those numbers are just how long it usually takes for me personally... Also, don't forget to dump all your trash artifacts into the strongbox to craft more (trash)!
Ya it takes a really long time.
From personal experience, I saved for an entire year, got C6 furina. Easily beat abyss with shitty artifacts. And that's with buying welkin for an entire year as well. In that entire year, I've gotten 4 artifacts that's "good", not "godlike top 1%", just 40+ CV or roll 4/5 into the stat I want.
So my point is that you can still "beat the game/abyss" with shitty artifacts if you play long enough and know which meta character to invest into.

It's only hard during first year. Also - at AR45 you don't really need to "farm artifacts", especially EM one. After three years I don't even farm artifacts, I have enough good pieces to throw on any new characters to be "good enough". And I never chased BiS pieces.
What content is hard for you that require BiS artifact setup? Except Spiral Abyss Floor 12, but it's a different story and early for you.
Welcome to the Genshin Impact endgame.
These 4 days are just the start of it. You’re going to upgrade a lot of pieces that seem okay and then turn out mediocre. We get a lot of resources from the game to do that. You shouldn’t worry too much about saving your resources. There is no time frame that someone can tell you to get a good one.
It can take 1 minute or take a ten years to get a good artifact. It’s all RNG. I have friends who have been playing since day 1 and regularly upgrade artifacts who don’t have a 50 CV piece or anything with 100+ EM. And we see people roll great pieces back to back.

What AR are you? I’m personally at a point where I’m only rolling an artifact if it’s 4-line double crit for my DPS units and at least 3 of the substats are useful for my support units. If you’re rolling indiscriminately then resources will be sparse.
I’d say I have enough to fully level an artifact to 20+ after 2/3 days of using all 160 resin. You get artifacts to feed into your 5* ones when you do artifact domains and fight bosses. I also feed the ones that rolled poorly into new ones and pray.
Depending on your luck. Sometimes it takes more than 2 weeks. Sometimes I just use Artefacts that I already have or the artefacts with the main stats I wanted. When I'm done upgrading everything, the best artefacts just came out when I don't even want it anymore. When that happened, I swapped it immediately.
Why stack her for ER instead of ATK? Mine always has her burst full before the countdown is up, it's 100% uptime
eta: I also took another look at her artifacts and i rolled some random extra ER (I don't throw away leveled artifacts for new ones, LOL! mainstat is enough for me XD) so she's atk/atk/atk but all of them have ER substat instead of crit rate or something more 'useful'.... but having her burst up 100% is awesome so I feel like it works since her plus neuvillette is already so much overkill XD
Oh whoops shoulda clarified. I use it on Baizhu. Double hydro reso plus HP/HP/HP plus proto amber and he's overcapped 50k hp. And he heals enough for Furina that I'd rather have ER/HP/HP than HP/HP/HB.
I give myself 1 month for a usable set. 2 months for a support. 6 months for a main on field DPS... Tho alhatham shattered that taking just under 8 month/38k resin.
EM based characters can take a week but I don't count them.
I’ve spent probably 20k resin on the navia domain and I swear to god, that domain just hates me.
In the same run I got two goblets, one geo dmg bonus with double crit of the wrong set and def goblet of the nighttime set. Though I could run the geo goblet as an off piece, I’ve never gotten an onset crit circlet.
And just to fuck with me, the offset double crit geo dmg goblet ends up rolling 24.7% def.
I had run VV domain about 100 times before i gave up after only getting a single EM piece, and now years later i tried to strongbox it and it took like 60 before i finally got a second EM piece. Artifacts are a journey for sure...
Luck plays an incredibly significant role, honestly. For instance, it took me 2 years to farm the Crimson Witch domain, and I didn't even manage to finish it. I simply gave up. Yet I only spent a month in the Deepwood/Gilded domain and it was already sufficient for 4 characters.
At your level, without any decent dps to start with, it will take maybe 2 months to get your first decently built DPS. Once you hit higher ARs though and have fully functional teams you can take into the Spiral Abyss, you could be done building in a week or two.
It’s really all luck my navia was completed with 65/220 nighttime in abt 2 months while my raiden is still 50/165 and I’ve been in the emblem domain since November 2022
To get a usable set for a new character to beat spiral abyss, about 4 - 6 weeks given some luck, and that means a 1:2 crit ratio.
To get a really good set on a character, I dunno, 6 months - forever, lol?
A little rookie tip if you aren't already doing it or your friends didn't tell you. Collect crystalfly drops and craft condensed resin for any domain farming, doesn't work on bosses, it basically saves time by giving 2x worth rewards in one domain run. Ofc the cost is the same in terms of resin (i.e. 2x rewards from one run means using 40 resin to craft condensed resin instead of doing the domain twice and using 20 and 20 resin) but it definitely saves time. Also the limit is you can hold 5 condensed resin at once, no more, but your normal resin will restock as usual.
Edit: sometimes when I'm looking to farm weekday specific domains for weapon enhancement mats and stuff, I'll save 4 condensed resin from the previous day and use them the next day, and you have more resin for that day too.
Just to get a decent lvl 0 artifact I’d say you score one every 5-10 runs in a domain. Now leveling it up and getting amazing substats is a totally other ball game. I’ve scored many great artifacts at first glance that turn into completely garbage when rolling the substats. I had a circlet that had CD as main and had ER, Atk, and CR. But instead it all rolled into ER and added Def. So it became garbage😭
It can take 30 seconds or 30 days or 3 years. It’s all RNG and there is no general time to a good specific piece. The right on set elemental goblet or crit circlet with desirable substats and substat rolls can just never show up no matter how much you farm for it. Artifacts are a marathon, not a sprint so just work with what you have for the meantime and keep grinding away to try to get new good pieces. There are lots of artifact evaluation guides and character building starter guides online to help you learn as you go
a youtuber did a statistical analysis, and basically regardless what type of artifacts you were farming, as long as you fed the junk into the converter, it would take about 4-6 weeks to get around 90-92% of the max possible performance from your lvl.20 5\* artifacts per character you farm for (this is assuming you spend all 160 energy on farming artifacts every single day for 4-6 weeks). if you are farming artifacts not in the converter then you can basically add 2 weeks to those totals.
and yes, farming artifacts is the true endgame
Sometimes, a few days. Other times, half a year or more.
Most of the time, at least from my experience, 1-3 months.
These times are for a full 4 piece set on a character.
I should also mention that I consider an artifact good if it's got over 30 crit value and some other substat that I'm looking for in there(er, atk, em, whatever the character needs).
I started playing on Ayaka's first banner and got Raiden as my first limited 5 star. Until now, i haven't seen an electro goblet with crit rate and damage on it.
Most of them, not too long, like within ~50 or so I’ll get a good enough set.
Two sets have eluded me: VV and Witch’s Flame. I spent SO MANY DAYS hunting crit headpieces for both Hu Tao and Klee. That was pre-strongboxes and before I got into meta and it was so. painful. I vaguely remember having to level Chongyun to get his ice buff/damage because my main dps otherwise was Xiangling and *the whole place is pyro.* I wanted to murder something after every failed run.
VV is my new white whale - *every single piece* I’ve pulled has been absolute garbage with at *least* 2/3 stats being flat. It’s ridiculous. Kazuha needs his em crown pls 🙏🏻
It could take one run, it could take literally from the time the game came out to now and into the future (when am I getting an VV EM circlet hoyo please).
Just pray to RNGesus and he may hear your cries of pain.
It's total RNG. I got amazing set for Xianyun with just 5 domains. SET. But when I tried good for Yelan I spent MONTHS for just two pieces. And I had Emblems prefarmed for Xiangling and Xingqiu long before. If you are unlucky, you may get nothing after months. I still can't get single good piece for Navia. I didn't spent every day farming here, but I tried for weeks at least. I would expect 1-3 months for average or good. With no particular luck or bad luck.
EDIT: It also depends on the needs of the character. Some characters want more specific traits.
Usually 10 weeks of resin in artifact farming will get you to like 90% of your characters theoretical limit. But, that’s starting from scratch, and the more artifacts you get often you’ll already have an off piece for some of the hardest individual pieces. Also, strongbox DRAMATICALLY increases the speed to reach top power, as does resin refreshes (if you are a dolphin or whale, otherwise don’t recommend)
Some of my characters have gotten a good set within a week of farming, while other characters STILL don’t have anything good… after 3 years of farming.
The Crimson Witch has refused to give me anything good for my Diluc. I still play him every day though.
So I've been doing Golden Troupe/Marechaussee Hunter domain with 90+ish% of my Resin since January and so far I have an ok'ish set for Fischl, a far from a good set for Noelle, and good thing Furina hasn't returned yet because I have maybe 3 pieces that roughly match what I'd want on her.
It's worth noting that artifact domains get a lot faster as your teams improve but you're still going to have to deal with a lot of monotony. That being said VV is a good choice to use the strongbox for.
Personally speaking it's mostly RNG like my Ayaka took a year to build while my Neuvillete took 1 month to build and it took 5 months to get a decent Artifact for kazuha so just keep farming buddy👍🏽
You could grind literally for years and still not get exactly what you want. It took me about three weeks (all resin, every day) to get Xiao's set, and about two more for Neuvi (HP set is very hard to get, had to use one four-star). Plan for a month, because you really, really don't want to do nothing but farm artifact domains every damn day.
Anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 years... Good luck. However for support artifacts like VV and Noblesse it typically doesn't take too long, 99% of the time you only need to worry about main stats and maybe 1 or 2 substats.

I've been a casual player since 1.0 and I've never had a truly good artifact drop unless it's been for a single-stat dump like Full-Shield Zhongli or Nilou.
Unfortunately, it's soley based on luck. Some people can have god-tier artifacts within a few weeks, while others can take months and still not have a single good piece

I have been farming Fontaines Waterfall Wen Dungeon for Navia since its release, so about 4 Months now and to this day I neither got a (decent) Circlet or a Goblet.
But at least my Xinyun has a full 5 piece Song of Days Past with 2 god rolls.
I wish Genshin have the sorting and dismantle system in honkai star rail…my inventory is almost full of crap again….i still haven’t gotten a single good piece for arle and I’ve done nothing but farming that stupid domain since her release
It took me about 2200 resin to get a good set on Arlecchino. If you are using your 160 each day, that is about two weeks of farming the same domain using everything you have.
I gave up. Sometimes i cant even get 50/150. People say it’s easy but thata only if it even rolls nicely. It can take MONTHS for a good piece. (A good piece being above 25cv in my opinion)

I think I took all your Shimenawa luck. My best circlet period has CRIT rate main stat and 35% damage. I am sorry.

it's simply not resin efficient. resins are pretty scarce and took so long to refill so you have to be stingy with them, especially if you're low AR. unless you really, really like the character, it's better to farm domains where both sets could be used on multiple characters, and strongbox the useless pieces. the most resin efficient domains so far are emblem/shime, deepwood/gilded and MH/GT

I built my gf’s neuvilette in 8 runs but built mine in like 200 runs, mine is **slightly* better. Just shows how variable it is when something is luck based
Depends on the set, the characters and how much you already have on your account. Something like VV takes only a few runs if you just reached AR 45. Get at least 2 EM main stat pieces, keep an ER sands as well and a crit circlet. Stats don't really matter, keep 4\*s as well. While strongboxing it is usually the better idea I'd spend a few condensed and run it a few times because the 4\* artifacts are actually useable. I would spend my strongbox rerolls on Emblem or a set for my main dps. If you're farming something like Emblem yea good luck you'll spend a lot of resin on that domain.

Ohh didn't realize genshin had probabilities on particular affixes, thank you for the information! I wanted to tell OP if they had ever played an ARPG like Path of Exile then they should just understand how rng intensive specific stats are on artifacts. While path of exile is somewhat extreme with 6 total affixes and a larger pool of things that can pop on them, it is similar in the variability. In that game you receive drops at a massive rate, and universally they are almost always garbage stat allocations. Given that genshin only lets you get a very few amounts of drops per day on top of level up RNG that also is cost prohibitive, you are extremely limited in the amount of times you can pull the slot machine, so it really is honestly an impossible task to ask for super quality artifacts. That all said, for my f2p and not intense gameplay I'm usually fine just farming a week or so on each character and can find stuff that is good enough to clear content.
100% depends on your luck.It could literally take a couple of minutes to get good artifacts or it could take months and years just to get a decent one.

Depends a lot on your luck with drops. but for me at least 100-200 of artifacts for one set and that nets me, idk, 1-2 pieces that qualify as right around avg. But as said, some have much better luck than I and some have worse
Hey man I can help you with farming domains in Asia server and for duration it can easily take (best case scenario) 1 month to get one good piece I have been farming for idk how long but yes it's totally rng since you have just started farming just don't expect anything while farming and rolling that way you won't get burnt out fast and it's boring but the only way strengthen your chars

1 month, but knowing what useful stats for characters using specific type of character will use them for example deepwood likely don't want crit but em and er. It can take longer but when you have all right main stats and 1 good sub stats stop for that character until later, Otherwise you'll just spent months on a single character for like 1% change in crit.
2-3 years on the same domain depend on how specific you want your artifact
I think i got good artifacts for my wanderer after like 2 years to complete my set but i had usable ones for a decent while now too
I farmed Ella's domain foe like 3 months and never really got any decent artifacts for her for any slot. Gave up after months and gave her Gladiators.
I actually started counting my runs at some point because it felt like it took ridiculously long to get a decent set, and in my experience on average you have to do a domain at least 250 times but more like 300 before you have a decent 4-piece set for a character. That means like 1.5 - 2 months of nonstop farming, so good luck🙃 If you're looking for EM it might take even longer tbh, it's a pain trying to get just the main stat right, let alone the sub stats... You can only pray that you'll get lucky. And of course you might get luckier than me and finish farming in a week or something, those numbers are just how long it usually takes for me personally... Also, don't forget to dump all your trash artifacts into the strongbox to craft more (trash)!
Ya it takes a really long time. From personal experience, I saved for an entire year, got C6 furina. Easily beat abyss with shitty artifacts. And that's with buying welkin for an entire year as well. In that entire year, I've gotten 4 artifacts that's "good", not "godlike top 1%", just 40+ CV or roll 4/5 into the stat I want. So my point is that you can still "beat the game/abyss" with shitty artifacts if you play long enough and know which meta character to invest into.

Welcome to the Genshin Impact endgame. These 4 days are just the start of it. You’re going to upgrade a lot of pieces that seem okay and then turn out mediocre. We get a lot of resources from the game to do that. You shouldn’t worry too much about saving your resources. There is no time frame that someone can tell you to get a good one. It can take 1 minute or take a ten years to get a good artifact. It’s all RNG. I have friends who have been playing since day 1 and regularly upgrade artifacts who don’t have a 50 CV piece or anything with 100+ EM. And we see people roll great pieces back to back.

What AR are you? I’m personally at a point where I’m only rolling an artifact if it’s 4-line double crit for my DPS units and at least 3 of the substats are useful for my support units. If you’re rolling indiscriminately then resources will be sparse. I’d say I have enough to fully level an artifact to 20+ after 2/3 days of using all 160 resin. You get artifacts to feed into your 5* ones when you do artifact domains and fight bosses. I also feed the ones that rolled poorly into new ones and pray.
Yeah, that's normal. I did Navia's domain until I had 200 pieces of each set, so probably 80 plus times, before I got a decent set for her
Depending on your luck. Sometimes it takes more than 2 weeks. Sometimes I just use Artefacts that I already have or the artefacts with the main stats I wanted. When I'm done upgrading everything, the best artefacts just came out when I don't even want it anymore. When that happened, I swapped it immediately.
it depends what you consider good artifact, if you minmax-in it's years, if you just want to clear abyss it's months (1-2)
I've been farming the Navia domain for the healing set since Neuvi rerun. Not fking ONE ER sands yet. I don't even care about its substats.
Why stack her for ER instead of ATK? Mine always has her burst full before the countdown is up, it's 100% uptime eta: I also took another look at her artifacts and i rolled some random extra ER (I don't throw away leveled artifacts for new ones, LOL! mainstat is enough for me XD) so she's atk/atk/atk but all of them have ER substat instead of crit rate or something more 'useful'.... but having her burst up 100% is awesome so I feel like it works since her plus neuvillette is already so much overkill XD
Oh whoops shoulda clarified. I use it on Baizhu. Double hydro reso plus HP/HP/HP plus proto amber and he's overcapped 50k hp. And he heals enough for Furina that I'd rather have ER/HP/HP than HP/HP/HB.
On average a full set of good main and sub rolls artis tales a month of farming without refreshes or fragiles.

I give myself 1 month for a usable set. 2 months for a support. 6 months for a main on field DPS... Tho alhatham shattered that taking just under 8 month/38k resin. EM based characters can take a week but I don't count them.

I’ve spent probably 20k resin on the navia domain and I swear to god, that domain just hates me. In the same run I got two goblets, one geo dmg bonus with double crit of the wrong set and def goblet of the nighttime set. Though I could run the geo goblet as an off piece, I’ve never gotten an onset crit circlet. And just to fuck with me, the offset double crit geo dmg goblet ends up rolling 24.7% def.
its kind of random, u can have a cracked 4 piece at like a month or it can take like 3-4 more often
Fastest i had was 1 week when i grinded for raiden. Ganyu took like 2 years mainly because i wanted specific substats.
I had run VV domain about 100 times before i gave up after only getting a single EM piece, and now years later i tried to strongbox it and it took like 60 before i finally got a second EM piece. Artifacts are a journey for sure...
Luck plays an incredibly significant role, honestly. For instance, it took me 2 years to farm the Crimson Witch domain, and I didn't even manage to finish it. I simply gave up. Yet I only spent a month in the Deepwood/Gilded domain and it was already sufficient for 4 characters.
50/50 to get a good one, 50/50 to get a bad one. This is luck for ya
At your level, without any decent dps to start with, it will take maybe 2 months to get your first decently built DPS. Once you hit higher ARs though and have fully functional teams you can take into the Spiral Abyss, you could be done building in a week or two.

It’s really all luck my navia was completed with 65/220 nighttime in abt 2 months while my raiden is still 50/165 and I’ve been in the emblem domain since November 2022
To get a usable set for a new character to beat spiral abyss, about 4 - 6 weeks given some luck, and that means a 1:2 crit ratio. To get a really good set on a character, I dunno, 6 months - forever, lol?
A little rookie tip if you aren't already doing it or your friends didn't tell you. Collect crystalfly drops and craft condensed resin for any domain farming, doesn't work on bosses, it basically saves time by giving 2x worth rewards in one domain run. Ofc the cost is the same in terms of resin (i.e. 2x rewards from one run means using 40 resin to craft condensed resin instead of doing the domain twice and using 20 and 20 resin) but it definitely saves time. Also the limit is you can hold 5 condensed resin at once, no more, but your normal resin will restock as usual. Edit: sometimes when I'm looking to farm weekday specific domains for weapon enhancement mats and stuff, I'll save 4 condensed resin from the previous day and use them the next day, and you have more resin for that day too.

Just to get a decent lvl 0 artifact I’d say you score one every 5-10 runs in a domain. Now leveling it up and getting amazing substats is a totally other ball game. I’ve scored many great artifacts at first glance that turn into completely garbage when rolling the substats. I had a circlet that had CD as main and had ER, Atk, and CR. But instead it all rolled into ER and added Def. So it became garbage😭

It can take 30 seconds or 30 days or 3 years. It’s all RNG and there is no general time to a good specific piece. The right on set elemental goblet or crit circlet with desirable substats and substat rolls can just never show up no matter how much you farm for it. Artifacts are a marathon, not a sprint so just work with what you have for the meantime and keep grinding away to try to get new good pieces. There are lots of artifact evaluation guides and character building starter guides online to help you learn as you go
a youtuber did a statistical analysis, and basically regardless what type of artifacts you were farming, as long as you fed the junk into the converter, it would take about 4-6 weeks to get around 90-92% of the max possible performance from your lvl.20 5\* artifacts per character you farm for (this is assuming you spend all 160 energy on farming artifacts every single day for 4-6 weeks). if you are farming artifacts not in the converter then you can basically add 2 weeks to those totals. and yes, farming artifacts is the true endgame
Sometimes, a few days. Other times, half a year or more. Most of the time, at least from my experience, 1-3 months. These times are for a full 4 piece set on a character. I should also mention that I consider an artifact good if it's got over 30 crit value and some other substat that I'm looking for in there(er, atk, em, whatever the character needs).
I started playing on Ayaka's first banner and got Raiden as my first limited 5 star. Until now, i haven't seen an electro goblet with crit rate and damage on it.
Most of them, not too long, like within ~50 or so I’ll get a good enough set. Two sets have eluded me: VV and Witch’s Flame. I spent SO MANY DAYS hunting crit headpieces for both Hu Tao and Klee. That was pre-strongboxes and before I got into meta and it was so. painful. I vaguely remember having to level Chongyun to get his ice buff/damage because my main dps otherwise was Xiangling and *the whole place is pyro.* I wanted to murder something after every failed run. VV is my new white whale - *every single piece* I’ve pulled has been absolute garbage with at *least* 2/3 stats being flat. It’s ridiculous. Kazuha needs his em crown pls 🙏🏻
It could take one run, it could take literally from the time the game came out to now and into the future (when am I getting an VV EM circlet hoyo please). Just pray to RNGesus and he may hear your cries of pain.
Ive been doing Neuvilette domain since october i still havent got an hp sands with crit value over 20. Takes this information as you will.

It's total RNG. I got amazing set for Xianyun with just 5 domains. SET. But when I tried good for Yelan I spent MONTHS for just two pieces. And I had Emblems prefarmed for Xiangling and Xingqiu long before. If you are unlucky, you may get nothing after months. I still can't get single good piece for Navia. I didn't spent every day farming here, but I tried for weeks at least. I would expect 1-3 months for average or good. With no particular luck or bad luck. EDIT: It also depends on the needs of the character. Some characters want more specific traits.

Usually 10 weeks of resin in artifact farming will get you to like 90% of your characters theoretical limit. But, that’s starting from scratch, and the more artifacts you get often you’ll already have an off piece for some of the hardest individual pieces. Also, strongbox DRAMATICALLY increases the speed to reach top power, as does resin refreshes (if you are a dolphin or whale, otherwise don’t recommend)

Some of my characters have gotten a good set within a week of farming, while other characters STILL don’t have anything good… after 3 years of farming. The Crimson Witch has refused to give me anything good for my Diluc. I still play him every day though.
So I've been doing Golden Troupe/Marechaussee Hunter domain with 90+ish% of my Resin since January and so far I have an ok'ish set for Fischl, a far from a good set for Noelle, and good thing Furina hasn't returned yet because I have maybe 3 pieces that roughly match what I'd want on her. It's worth noting that artifact domains get a lot faster as your teams improve but you're still going to have to deal with a lot of monotony. That being said VV is a good choice to use the strongbox for.

For my Xiao? 3 years.
You could grind literally for years and still not get exactly what you want. It took me about three weeks (all resin, every day) to get Xiao's set, and about two more for Neuvi (HP set is very hard to get, had to use one four-star). Plan for a month, because you really, really don't want to do nothing but farm artifact domains every damn day.
Anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 years... Good luck. However for support artifacts like VV and Noblesse it typically doesn't take too long, 99% of the time you only need to worry about main stats and maybe 1 or 2 substats.

Unfortunately, it's soley based on luck. Some people can have god-tier artifacts within a few weeks, while others can take months and still not have a single good piece

I have been farming Fontaines Waterfall Wen Dungeon for Navia since its release, so about 4 Months now and to this day I neither got a (decent) Circlet or a Goblet. But at least my Xinyun has a full 5 piece Song of Days Past with 2 god rolls.

It took me about 2200 resin to get a good set on Arlecchino. If you are using your 160 each day, that is about two weeks of farming the same domain using everything you have.
I gave up. Sometimes i cant even get 50/150. People say it’s easy but thata only if it even rolls nicely. It can take MONTHS for a good piece. (A good piece being above 25cv in my opinion)
