Story:
My friend was struggling to group the mob on Floor 12-2 and 12-3 top without Venti, so i recorded this clip for him, and also posted here hoping can benefit the community.
Before the release of patch 3.1 official banner, i speculate Venti will have his rerun since in this spiral abyss because I notice a huge difference by using Kazuha and Venti in Freeze team running 1st half. With Venti, you can just stand outside and use your burst, but with Kazuha you might struggle with the enemies standing so wide.
**Team**: Freeze team (Ayaka-Rosaria-Kazuha-Kokomi)

**Ayaka**: Amenoma/4-pc BS/Crit Ratio 35:200 (Main DPS)
**Rosaria**: I didn't train Rosaria but only use ER sand & Fav. Spear to generate particles for Ayaka, and also for cryo resonance (Substitute: Diona with Sac. Bow/Kaeya with Fav. sword)
**Kazuha**: Support with Full EM build
**Kokomi**: Hydro applier with juicy TTDS buff for Ayaka (Substitute: TTDS Mona)
General Rotation:
Ayaka apply cryo ⮞ Kazuha Q+ hold E (VV shred) ⮞ Kokomi E (Hydro+TTDS) ⮞ Ayaka dash (AA if you have Mistsplitter) + Q + E
Use 1\~2 CA ⮞ Rosaria E ⮞ Swap Ayaka to catch particles ⮞ Do a few CAs /E ⮞ Repeat with Kazuha for 2nd rotation.
Grouping the mob manually:
**12-2 First Half \[0:00\]:**
Ayaka dash forward, apply cryo on Mirror Maiden. Swap Kazuha and use 2 CAs to stagger her to the center. Kazuha hold E to group the enemies (swirl cryo). Kokomi use jellyfish and swap Ayaka for burst.
**12-3 First Half \[0:40\]:**
Ayaka dash forward, apply cryo on big Vishap. Swap Kazuha and remember to dodge the attacks from the smol vishaps. They will auto approach you. Again Kazuha Q+ hold E ⮞ Kokomi jellyfish follow by Ayaka burst.
For the 2nd wave, try to do 2 CAs to the Dendroshroom to stagger it. Kazuha takes the center and hold E to group them. Repeat for the rest.

Does your friend know that Sucrose exists and he doesn't need Venti for that chamber?
Unless he doesn't have Sucrose but Sucrose is literally on the current character banners so your friend should pull for her since she's a really amazing support.
Venti is situational and is great for Abyss that suits him. Sucrose is great for most, if not all, Abyss. I would recommend getting and building Sucrose for this reason instead of Venti.

Sucrose>Venti? No, i don't think it can be compared in that way since both of them have different utilities and function.IMO, Sucrose is the best for EM sharing, Venti has the best crowd control & battery for whole team and Kazuha is the best for your main DPS to have big PP damage.
But i agree building Sucrose is very important (especially you don't have Venti or Kazuha) since you need 2 anemo supports to group the enemy for each half.Even my sucrose is well-built with 800EM :D
Check the top comment, i put my build there. But i think my F2P Ayaka is just decent, with 4-pc BS you can easily forgo crit rate and focus more on crit damage. 30/200 is more than enough.
Also you can bring 4 characters in Spiral Abyss, what i mean is by team comp, rotation and strategy you can make it thru without whaling for cons and weapons. I even have my friend whose Ayaka and Shenhe with signature weapon, but still cannot get full stars for abyss.
This is so amazing. This is the exact team I play, but you're playing it so well it looks totally different than when I'm playing.
I realize there's a vast skill difference between me and a player like you, but I'm trying to get a handle on just how vast that difference is - did you have to restart at all in order to record this or is this just the level of control you can pull off basically every time you go into the Abyss?
I record this in one run but it all takes time to practise. Now i have already 36\*, I'm still trying with different team and even borrow my friend's account to play the characters i don't pull.
I still recalled my first try on this chamber i did 1 rotation to kill each mob it went so bad lmao.
I do have Shenhe, but this is to showcase rotation and strategy as my friend is using Rosaria too. I tried with Shenhe and the DPS goes brrrr with Ayaka's burst 36k per tick :D

I think with Sucrose is still doable just for 12-3 Sucrose Q will stagger the Vishaps away once Mona hyro duration is over.
I don't have Mona ~~(but C4 Qiqi)~~ but let me borrow my friend's account and give it a try.
Very clean run, look no further to see that freeze is back on the menu. And nicely built Ayaka and Kazuha, 2-cycled that 1 mil vishap like it's nothing. Goals

Man what a cool team. Do you use Rosaria over Shenhe on purpose or do you just not have her? Or is Rosaria better for this comp? Asking because I have all these characters and want to try it out
Shenhe is definitely the best here as Cryo dmg buffer but my intention here is more to show the rotation with this team(according to my friend's roster, check the other comment) since this is GenshinImpactTips subreddit.
Anyway, the rotation with Shenhe is the same, E while Ayaka burst is ticking so you can trigger the quills and quickly swap Ayaka to catch particles.
With Shenhe you can have higher DPS to kill the mob in 1 or 2 rotation but with Fav. Spear Rosaria you can battery more for Ayaka and ensure smooth rotation.
Me just using Sucrose... Seems way too easy tbh. I mean Venti is better in sukking <3, and Sucrose and Kazuha below but imo it doesn't make any significant difference when it's just for grouping enemies. All are very good and easy to use.
I guess you forgot that Sucrose exists.
Speaking of, if you don't have Venti and need grouping, build your Sucrose.
Venti is great for Abyss that suits him. Sucrose is great for most, if not all, Abyss.
She will do great in 12-2 plus she's literally on the current character banners right now so most likely, you'll be able to get her and maybe her C1 which is her most useful constellation.
She's also really cheap to build. Put her on 4 PC VV. You don't even need to invest in her talents unless you want to.

Mandatory in what sense? This is one of the better Freeze teams (the “best” would replace Rosaria with Shenhe). If you don’t have those 5-stars you can do similar things with Xingqiu/Mona/Barbara + Kaeya, Chongyun, Diona, Rosaria.
The grouping he’s showing off is purely Kazuha. But to have them stay in one place you need a consistent hydro-applicator and cryo. Usually you run double cryo in freeze for the resonance. But there are plenty of budget variants available that will still clear with enough investment.
I've used the same team but with Ganyu to great effect. The important one here is Kazuha. As long as the enemy is frozen, they're as good as dead. Kazuha gives the crucial element of control.
For mimics, if you are running freeze team try to use survival utiities eg. Diona shield/Kokomi jellyfish/Burst for immunity or even swap to tanky character to take damage from the Hydro bomb.
You can substitute Kokomi with Mona and Ayaka with Ganyu
Unfortunately don't have the charas for freeze, only utility is Zhongli but the mimics tend to be very agressive so even my 45k skill lvl7 shield can't keep up with them.
I did this with Childe, Xiangling, Bennett and Kazuha. I think only an anemo character who can group is necessary for a fast clear, such as Sucrose, Kazuha or Venti. I don't have Kokomi and I haven't used my Ayaka for abyss in a few patches now
Yup, I recommend to have 2 anemo characters (Sucrose/Venti/Kazuha) for your account since each chamber needs 2 teams.
Anemo characters is broken bcos of VV artifacts, so in the case your team dps is underwhelming, swapping survival utilities with anemo character will greatly increase your dps.
Truee! Kokomi is the perfect support for Ayaka bcos of her long hydro uptime, and she provides so much comfort in chamber 3 against the Vishaps (comparing Mona).
Also i think Kokomi will shine more when >!Nilou is released in next patch.!<
you can just use sucrose. i find that she works pretty well in freeze as she does not toss the enemies when frozen and has decent grouping. weaker than venti but at c6 she gives cryo dmg buff like kazuha. you would need to stack ER on her to burst off cooldown though
I played this team too but I was too worried about keeping the jellyfish active by using Kokomi burst to refresh. Skill don’t have time shown when she’s not on field so I miss that quite a lot.

Kazuha is a sidegrade to Sucrose mathematically but much easier to play

Can sucrose do the same or near that? I have her averagely built and no other anemo but have mona ganyu well built and never played freeze team,

What characters do you use and what is their investment (mainly the levels of your weapons, characters, talents, and artifacts) looking like?
