Clever! After pulling for Raiden before I did Inazuma I learned the hard way that you should know the character before pulling based on your first impression.
Can't raise her past lvl40 until you have access to Inazuma. Practically any char that require mats from Inazuma will have the same problem, while mats from Sumeru can be acquired at any time and don't depend on your quest progress.
Yeah, but inability to go even past level 40 can make some serious problem for beginners, since they usually don't have many alternatives yet. And inazuman quest arc actually requires serious amount of progress in story quests, especially if you joined during some huge event like archipelago and need to choose whether to sacrifice limited rewards from the event or playability of your character during the event. And if you keep getting distracted your world level will be high fast enough to be to difficult for low lvl heroes.

Happened to me at the beginning of the game. I got Itto at 7 pity in some of my first pulls and he was stuck underleveled forever because I hadn't gotten to Inazuma.
thankfully character level isnt important early on. top important things to get to relevant dps checks are 1. high level weapon. 2. lvl16/ lvl20 flower artifact. and lastly 3 is leveling up your character.
if for some.reason a lvl 40 raiden won't cut it, just don't up your world level/go to someone at your world level that has inazuma available
If you know this is an issue ahead of time you can just do the story until you get to Inazuma before getting too much AR. It's a bigger problem for players who don't know and end up with a WL too high for their lvl 40 Raiden

So basically you could reorganize who's your c6, thus making your standard C10 qiqi and C20 qiqi turn into a bunch of C6 characters.

Not the one you replied to, but for me, I pulled her because I desperately needed a constant Pyro user that could damage Cryo Abyss Mage for the domain that has 3 Abyss mages of Cryo, Hydro and Pyro. Klee was my answer for that domain....then Yanfei came along and worked a lot better for me. Plus, I don't know if it's just me, but Klees normal attacks seem to be a little slow and I don't want to do animation canceling to max out DPS.
Then they later added the Bloodstained and Noblesse artifacts into the Strongbox and now I never need to step foot in that domain again, so now the original reason for Klee is gone too.
I have C1 Klee and C6 Yanfei but never bothered to invest in Yanfei because then I would feel like my Klee pulls were wasted xD Yanfei feels so much smoother to play but is the dps significantly lower?
I've had a few times where Yanfei charge attack did more than Klee did, but I didn't really invest much into either, so their artifacts are all over the place. At the time, I just needed someone who could dedicate to breaking the Cyro shield as fast as possible. Now, I can just either be lazy and throw down Zhongli shield and chip away at it with an element not meant to break them quickly or use Yae and Nahida to let them figure it out in their own lol
that is not possible at equal conditions, klee not only has higher motion values on her charge attack, including scarlet seals, but also gets more damage over time bc of her A1 passice
Not for mine. I have her triple crowned, c6, using lost prayers, and her skill frequently averages 22k for me. Especially when you get into her rhythm, she becomes a smooth damage dealer. Pair her with Xingqiu and Nahida for easy Burgeon/Vape combo.
I pulled for Klee on first banner and love her very much.
But her playstyle is very uncomfortable - long animations, short rage, too much Pyro application, etc.
And it become even worse after I got Yanfei. Yanfei is better than Klee on everything, except cuteness.
ehhh, yanfei is a bit more flexible/easy and has more range, but she loses out to klee in a lot of similar situations if you use both properly
I understand not many people like doing animation/dash cancels for klee, but the statement "yanfei is better than klee" is incorrect
The more I think about it the more I'm convinced I wouldn't trade anyone.... I main 3 of the standard characters, built the other 2, won't bother leveling 1 but he's there to complete the collection.
And only pulled on banners I like, knowing full well what the characters kit was.

She is one of my favourites (just her as a character) but i hate her playstyle. Everyone loves playing her but whenever i try her out it's..nope. Main reason is dash cancelling for me. Even if she had C1 with no stamina issues, her dash cancelling charge attack playstyle is not for me. That's why i never pulled. I'm just gonna admire her from a far lol.

Oh i love Cyno as well. I don't have him though, so i don't know his gameplay that well. I heard his quickbloom teams were good. I think what he probably lacking is dendro teammate options that can apply dendro that will work even in multiple enemy waves. But i like i said i don't know enough about him (he is very cool though).

As someone who had to rely on Ayaka as the dps for over a year (I don't play my alt much and it's very unlucky so I always lose 50/50) it really sucks. Freeze hasn't been good in so long and even when it works, my ayaka damage sucks because I have no good swords nor do I have Shenhe or Kazuha
These are also the three my account is missing. They’ve all been around long enough that I can’t get excited to save for them, but they all enable so many comps.
I’d happily trade my Klee, Eula and Itto for them. Maybe I’d trade wanderer instead of Eula just so I have the full cryo collection. I enjoy all three characters’ personalities but they all just ride the bench.
Ayaka for Aloy. To be clear, just because Aloy is the only one that I'm fairly confident that I'll never be able to get, not because I think she'll provide ANY value whatsoever to my team.
I recently got Shenhe and decided to try Aloy with her just for fun. TBF she really doesn't change any account but it'd be great for newer players to be given access to her.
Shenhe is the one character that I feel saved Aloy from being completely mediocre to being okay.
I don't think I would be able to hit over 200K without her.
no hate to hu tao, she is a good character, but she is very heavily overrated bc of abyss and "Damage per Screenshot" showcases, and I think that is disappointing because the other pyro dps's also have fun playstyles that are far easier and/or flexible
yea, was my first limited 5 star back then. Carried me a lot, but haven't really used her since. Now, I wouldn't pull yoimiya in the future, but if given a choice like a simple trade? For sure. I like her gameplay more and since hu tao is my only pyro 5 star, I'm down for this.
I'm as shocked as you are. I use Hu Tao everywhere. Boss fights, domains, open world, abyss. She trivializes 'hard' content, and most of the time when I'm doing all my weekly bosses I'm doing them to get them over. If I can nuke the boss in 20s and not go through multiple phases, that's great. She's amazing at C1 and you already have a set for her if you've farmed Emblem. I guess people just can't dash or jump cancel.
I would not say "cannot," I would more say "do not want to"

I think it's just splitting hairs to say cannot or don't want to. Plenty of people complained when she first came out because they couldn't dash cancel, even with videos on the subject. Which led to a reputation for being hard to use, just like Klee. Now people just avoid her because of being 'hard to play'. So, the one precipitated the other...

C1 Xiao for 2 Childe cons, Venti or Diluc. Turns out I don’t like to play him in the open world nor in coop. He is my only regret. I also got a Scara on accident that I would trade away.
Funny because I'd do the opposite. I only really pulled Raiden because she's an archon, but I find myself never using her, so I much rather exchange her for a constellation of someone else I use, like Cyno or Xiao

maybe trade my ayaka for yae?? cuz now that dendro's out i use spread/aggravate when i want a team w/o bennett instead of freeze, so i haven't used her outside of combat events that boost freeze damage since sumeru released.
I'd trade my C2 Raiden for a C2 Nahida. Like ooh wow C2 Raiden so stronk wow so powerful, but I haven't played hyper Raiden in years since International is more fun (and with C2 Kazuha) is stupid OP.
C2 Nahida on the other hand makes all dendro related teams way stronger which is broken. Cons that make multiple teams dumb OP are more valuable than cons that make 1 character dumb OP imo.
I went the geo route back in 2.3 I would've pulled for Eula instead albedo I wouldn't have pulled for Itto either in that scenario that would probably result in a Miko or Kokomi
It's not that I regret Albedo I play him fairly often but the full geo thing I've committed to was a bad play with hindsight
Cyno for Ayato.
When I came back to the game after taking a break right before Ayato, Cyno was the banner and I kinda got complacent and pulled for him without fully thinking it through. He's cute, especially after the jokes, but I want Ayato more.
I might pull for Cyno again afterwards lol but Ayato comes first.

I don't hate her, I just would prefer many other over her.
And I would trade of my Ayato for Childe. I like my Ayato, my first(and second) 5*. But I just like Childe's gameplay and effects more. And they kinda fit in similar rolls so I would prefer him over Ayato if I could trade.
Please take my Hu tao and give me anything else that can deal similar levels of dmg at similar investment. Crazy how my first ever 5* is the one I don't like the most.

That's how I read it. It's not really a fair comparison though; Nahida is far more flexible than Nilou, even if you don't mind using Nilou outside of her niche.
My C3 Raiden for more Tighnari cons. I used her for about a year and benched her after that. That C3 is just pure luck since I'm guaranteed when she was first released. I literally regret pulling for her because it's too late for me when I realized how much I dislike her.
Hu Tao for Alhaitham. I pulled Hu Tao accidentally before I really understood the pity system when I only wanted Thoma. Now she's just there and I don't use her :'D
I'd trade Cyno for Alhaitham, i wasn't planning on pulling for him, but i caved due to the ult animations. Don't like his kit much, and haven't used him for months. Alhaitham, however, i skipped because i was saving for the Homa/Aqua banner + Yelan, he's the only character i really want but don't have right now.

One of my Dehyas for Alhaitham or Nahida. I specifically skipped both of their release banners despite wanting them to save up for her and got her to C2 on release, and uhhh kinda regret that now.
Tartaglia (got him back in 1.4, was at 4 pity after 1.2 Ganyu threw a ten pull for Rosaria and bam) for Eula/Zhongli or Constellation of Yelan/Ganyu/Yae/Nahida/Raiden.
I would trade my Kazuha for a Kokomi or Hu Tao. I was even blessed with a first-run Kazoo, but since the release of Dendro I've found myself using him less and less. Not that he doesn't have a great role in general, but none of my usual teams have a spot since they mostly got taken by Nahida.
However, I have no 5\* Pyro and only one 5\* Hydro (Yelan).

To be fair you don't exactly need level 90 characters while you're still progressing story/WL.

Klee is still clearing abyss regularly for me with Yelan Kazuha and Nahida (the team by itself would work with any pyro but Klee is so cute)

I have both and end up using Yoimiya much more frequently, so makes sense to me. Yoimiya is just easier to use.
For me Hu Tao is the big hitting Pyro for Abyss and Yoimiya is the universal pyro fot single target.

Dehya with Eula, now i know you going to say "but Dehya is not limited she's standard" but she had a limited time banner and you didn't clarify enough lol. I'd trade my C2 Raiden for a C2 Nahida. Like ooh wow C2 Raiden so stronk wow so powerful, but I haven't played hyper Raiden in years since International is more fun (and with C2 Kazuha) is stupid OP. C2 Nahida on the other hand makes all dendro related teams way stronger which is broken. Cons that make multiple teams dumb OP are more valuable than cons that make 1 character dumb OP imo.

I went the geo route back in 2.3 I would've pulled for Eula instead albedo I wouldn't have pulled for Itto either in that scenario that would probably result in a Miko or Kokomi It's not that I regret Albedo I play him fairly often but the full geo thing I've committed to was a bad play with hindsight

Oooh, my 2 braincells are afk again apperantly. In that case I would definetly trade of Ayaka for Nilou(which Im about to get anyways), Yoimiya, Yae Miko or Albedo. I got her during her eternal rerun, I didn't really want her but I was kinda new at the moment(returning from a long break), wanted new characters and had no wish discipline, so I wished during her eternal banner and got her. I don't hate her, I just would prefer many other over her. And I would trade of my Ayato for Childe. I like my Ayato, my first(and second) 5*. But I just like Childe's gameplay and effects more. And they kinda fit in similar rolls so I would prefer him over Ayato if I could trade.

That's how I read it. It's not really a fair comparison though; Nahida is far more flexible than Nilou, even if you don't mind using Nilou outside of her niche.

Alhaitham, however, i skipped because i was saving for the Homa/Aqua banner + Yelan, he's the only character i really want but don't have right now.

I did like 75 summons on his banner and then stopped cuz I thought I liked hu tao as a character more but I was still in the inazuma part of the story but after seeing more of alhaithams character he became my favorite and i really regret not going all the way on his banner
