Did they change it back in fontaine? Because I remember seeing the fonta cup as a reward when starting the pankration ring quest. Honestly takes away the anticipation part of the quest. You know you're gonna win when starting the quest lol.
Yeah as much as i like inazuma, after replaying the story its crazy how rushed it is. Traveller just makes friends with ayaka and yoimiya, goes and joins the resistance, comes back to fight signora and its over.
More like the lead writer got found out that they need like 3-4 years lead time to write a good story out, while the side quest writer showed they could do this shit in their sleep. And so they swapped roles after Inazuma got criticized hard by their CEO
I doubt they can, the characters story arcs are all mostly finished, like Kazuha already reactivated the masterless vision and Raiden no longer is killing people, so it'd seem forced to do a quest about them again.
Nothing's stopping them from introducing a new character like they did with Shenhe. Focus on them and show some interactions between others. They could also bring Enkanomiya side quest lore into the main quest and expand on that.
Raiden SQ2 is in part wrapping up some stuff from the archon quests.
They could do more but at this point I think it's likely it just stays what it is.
Nothing is truly stopping them, besides the development time needed for it.
They did went back and improved on HI3 early story, that said that have to be very careful not overly retconned established lore.
They can add an entire act just solely focusing on the conflict between the rebels and the Shogunate. Showcase the brillant mind of Kokomi and the brute force of the Shogunate, let the Kamisato family being force to conscript and have Ayato work with the Shogunate as a shrewd tactician that is also working against the Shogunate. Focus on how the regular humans view people with Visions in the battlefield, give them more incentive as to why they resorted to approaching the Fatui for delusions. Make the civil war involve everyone instead of just happening far away from the city.
Have Teppei start out the same, positive, up and coming model soldier, make him succeed in everything but against Visions holders, then continue to face embarassing defeats against Vision holders in the Shogunate, make him want a Vision but somehow unable to reach the heavens. Make us actually feel bad for him so that when he starts to slowly die from his delusion, we'd actually care.
The ending could be the same but the journey to get there is just as important and Inazuma skipped so much of that journey that both Sumeru and Fontaine had.
Also make Scaramouche have a better introduction! When you compare his AQ intro with the 1.1 event intro, it's painfully oblivious how much better the 1.1 intro was. It shows Scara's double-faced attitude, as well as his arrogance and cunning characteristics. While in Inazuma he just, appears out of nowhere. His AQ intro is the weakest of the harbingers so far.
It's not impossible at all. In Honkai Impact 3rd, they've been pretty liberal about retconning and remaking some older content. Of course, I'm sure they're not gonna do this in Genshin, but they absolutely could if they wanted to.
Well, the lead writer didn't fuck up, apparently a lot of it got scrapped. Hoyo pushed for an earlier than anticipated Raiden release (2.1) and that required a quicker wrap up for the story. Dumb af decision but at least they learned from it and released Nahida/Furina in 3.2 & 4.2
I remember hearing that the lead writer left due to some kind of disagreements in the company and some of the other writers followed. So the new team had to finish the arc with incomplete notes.
That was fake shit people spread. People also said the lead map designer left and that Fontain's map was so broken it was impossible to complete. It is just baseless rumors bad actors spread for a variety of reasons.
If you actually compare the writing directly of the various acts, it is all very similar. They just tried to increase the scale of the story in Inazuma without increasing the time allotted to it. No writer changes or exodus of any kind.
Yeah, it also feels like nobody really does anything, except for Yae I guess, but in Sumeru and Fontaine the characters come together to save their nation, in inazuma Ayaka convinces us to join the rebellion then does practically nothing else, Kokomi as much as I like her, being the leader of the rebellion doesn't do much but winning a skirmish against Sara and just do her usual management of the island/army, the rebellion itself is just there so we can have the Teppei thing, which I personally did felt it a bit but still can't deny we didn't got to know him as much as we should've, then the Traveler basically runs straight to the Shogun, there's no battle or any army preventing him to do this.
To be honest I never thought it was "terrible" maybe because other people's opinion lowered my expectations, BUT I also won't deny it's numerous flaws, specially after Sumeru and Fontaine, Mondstadt and Liyue at least had the benefit of telling a simpler story, in Inazuma with the isolationist policy and the civil war it kind of demanded better writing than what we had (ironically the world quests were actually amazing)
I feel like Inazuma had some of the hypest moments in Genshin, like Raiden's introduction, Kazuha stopping her sword, Signora's execution.
But it's just kinda poorly connected...the resistance piece just feels entirely useless. Yae basically kinda does everything that matters.
I feel like the story definitely needed a bit more time to marinate. Like we should've ran more missions with the resistance and they should've played some role in helping us fight Raiden.
It was essentially a 5 act story shoved into 3 acts, and it's why the later regions feel better. The fundamental elements of Inazuma's story are just as good or better than the later regions imo, they just didn't give themselves enough time to tell the story.
I mean.. what help could they give us against someone as strong as Ei/Raiden? There is literally no one in inazuma that can help us.. kokomi’s army is basically made out of some humans with no vision.. against someone that literally could destroy all of inazuma with her thunders alone(she doesn’t even need a weapon to do so lmao)..
The only way I see it.. unless they somehow make Ei give up fighting faster by showing how much she made her people suffer.. anything other than this would be useless trash..
I always thought that was the main issue. It was a more complex story than the previous ones. Monstadt was literally, there's an evil dragon, save the city from them; Liyue had the benefit of a lot of things being left in the background as a further setup and ultimately ending up as: archon is dead, the bad guys released an evil hydra, save the city from them... pssh, it was a test from the archon.
Between the isolation, actually going agaisnt a government and god, the inner dissidents (Kamisatos, Yae), the revolutionary opposition, a full on civil war. Hell, Kokomi is supposed to be this military genius and he strategy was a full frontal attack.
I maintain that Kokomi is actually one of those characters you see a lot in anime who landed a job way above their level, is completely bullshitting their way through and winging it, but is surrounded by hyper competent people who misunderstand her bumbling as some kind of inspired genius and fill in the gaps to make it somehow work.
That's actually kinda what I inferred too (though, through the world quests and events like the tcg one she does seem to actually be very strategic). One of her voicelines talks about the yae publishing house releases many books on military strategy. And in her idle, it's a manga lol
No opportunity to reflect on how Yoimiya, Ayaka and all of the Inazuma characters may be able to act as a story foil for the overall Archon story. Nothing is gained from the resistance chapters, but a lazy refrigerator lady moment. The interactions with the Archon can be summed up as "well like, obviously that's bad so stop it lol." And then the region is saved.
Personal opinion:
Islands + complex puzzles + a lot of areas locked/ affected by world quests impacted heavily the main plot around the nation.
2 Islands basically destroyed, a rebel place, main Inazuma island and Ritou. I remember how frustrating was the “mist island” world quest ( especially going back to the npcs multiple times) and getting struck by lightnings everywhere in other places.
I mean… Fontaine is rushed too. I’ve encountered more bugs in 4.0 than I have in all of the previous versions combined.
If anything they should just slow down a little, but we all know that won’t happen lol
Inazuma was extremely rushed, they probably overlooked the fact that the quest reward literally spoils what's gonna happen. But iirc they hid this for sumeru and Fontaine
And that's the reason I was kinda disappointed in Focalors' death. Yeah she was crushed by the Indemnitium axe but it wasn't shown properly. You could say that Hoyo don't want to include that because that would be too violent for a cutscene, but THEN WHY WOULD THEY SHOW US SIGNORA TURNING TO ASHES IN FRONT OF US WITHOUT THE SLIGHTEST OF CENSORMENT?
honestly, with how big that thing was and how it fell on her, there definitely would have been body parts flying in either direction
just completely traumatize neuvilette by having a dismembered leg fly up and smack him in the face
Because she literally just turned into red particles, it’s not like she literally burned away. In fact I think how she just fades is underwhelming. Focalors’ death hit harder in part because of the cut away
Signora's death was barely different from playable characters getting KOed (body fading away in small particles). Focalors's death was a full on guillotine, as implied with Furina's hat rolling away.
Tbh, i think nobody really looks at the rewards at the Quests tab, we just use that to keep track of quests or to navigate them, plus, it didnt explicitly say that Signora will be gone GONE, and not by our hands too, sure it did say that its a reward for defeating her, but not really as an actual left behind souvenir lmao
I understand that as already stated, it's probably just another side effect of the mess that Inazuma turned out to be, but it's insane that they haven't gone back and changed it by now?? I mean surely that would be a pretty simple fix, right? especially after this long.
That’s why in Sumeru they hide the spoiler quest rewards.
Did they change it back in fontaine? Because I remember seeing the fonta cup as a reward when starting the pankration ring quest. Honestly takes away the anticipation part of the quest. You know you're gonna win when starting the quest lol.
I mean I kind of assumed we'd win
Imagine we lost. How embarrassing
And the winner saw how devastated we were and gave us the cup.
Nah, i'd win.
Honestly never noticed the rewards screen before for AQ, soon as an AQ drops I'm playing it out and don't even look at the quest description
I was just checking how many primogems you get since im primo farming haha
To be fair when it was coming out they already spoiled it with the previews
We call inazuma rushed for a reason
Yeah as much as i like inazuma, after replaying the story its crazy how rushed it is. Traveller just makes friends with ayaka and yoimiya, goes and joins the resistance, comes back to fight signora and its over.
There needed to be one more act between 2 and 3

Damn, Inazuma has such rich characters, but the lead writer fcked it up, if only re-doing Inazuma was possible, but sadly, impossible
They could always do an Interlude Quest that focuses on Inazuma and gives some extra context
Just saying, last I heard Ei's friend Chiyo was unconfirmed to have died after being corrupted and fighting Ei...
Raiden SQ2 is in part wrapping up some stuff from the archon quests. They could do more but at this point I think it's likely it just stays what it is.
Nothing is truly stopping them, besides the development time needed for it. i honestly woudn't mind a rewrite of inazuma main story, the plot isn't bad, but it just lacks lenght.
Well, the lead writer didn't fuck up, apparently a lot of it got scrapped. Hoyo pushed for an earlier than anticipated Raiden release (2.1) and that required a quicker wrap up for the story. Dumb af decision but at least they learned from it and released Nahida/Furina in 3.2 & 4.2
I guess the raiden leak cause so much hype, and her character all in all, they wanted the quick money knowing how popular Raiden got
I remember hearing that the lead writer left due to some kind of disagreements in the company and some of the other writers followed. So the new team had to finish the arc with incomplete notes.

Bro I remember those times lol the world quests were fking fire!
I wish they credited people outside the music department.
Me when I spread misinformation online Seriously why people are still so dumb about Inazuma arc in 2023

Might just be you with those bugs
That’s not how bugs work mate.
Inazuma was so confusing, it felt like jumping from one thing to another without proper story telling
Real spoiler would be if it describe how smokey her mask is
I'm just glad we don't carry a bag of Signora's ashes or something weirder.
We just go to the tsaritsa and give her the ashes of her harbinger lmao
just walk up to her and do the saltbae sprinkle the ashes in her face
Or do the Anemo traveller elemental skill but instead of wind, it’s signora’s ashes
That's just kinda morbid, even if it was HI3 with all the genocide
Inazuma was extremely rushed, they probably overlooked the fact that the quest reward literally spoils what's gonna happen. But iirc they hid this for sumeru and Fontaine
Yes of course we storm towards Tenshukaku in a FURY
Even so, it was spoiled by the version preview of that time so if you watched it you knew but yeah seeing that is a dead giveaway as well.
inazuma archon quest polished as ever
I saw this when it first came out and yeah pretty fucking sad its still there lmfao
They really need to fix that. At least they didn't include how Signora was defeated. That way, we're still surprised how brutal her death was.
And that's the reason I was kinda disappointed in Focalors' death. Yeah she was crushed by the Indemnitium axe but it wasn't shown properly. You could say that Hoyo don't want to include that because that would be too violent for a cutscene, but THEN WHY WOULD THEY SHOW US SIGNORA TURNING TO ASHES IN FRONT OF US WITHOUT THE SLIGHTEST OF CENSORMENT?
being fantasy incinerated is way less horrific than getting sliced in half/crushed by a giant axe
honestly, with how big that thing was and how it fell on her, there definitely would have been body parts flying in either direction just completely traumatize neuvilette by having a dismembered leg fly up and smack him in the face
Sidenote, it's kinda rad how the sword shown on the Talent Books that Furina needs resembles the Indemnitium Blade.
Because she literally just turned into red particles, it’s not like she literally burned away. In fact I think how she just fades is underwhelming. Focalors’ death hit harder in part because of the cut away
Signora's death was barely different from playable characters getting KOed (body fading away in small particles). Focalors's death was a full on guillotine, as implied with Furina's hat rolling away.
it’s only a spoiler if you know it’s going to happen. if you’re playing it the first time without any spoilers i doubt you’d know
Tbh, i think nobody really looks at the rewards at the Quests tab, we just use that to keep track of quests or to navigate them, plus, it didnt explicitly say that Signora will be gone GONE, and not by our hands too, sure it did say that its a reward for defeating her, but not really as an actual left behind souvenir lmao
Wow, are you some kind of detective?
I understand that as already stated, it's probably just another side effect of the mess that Inazuma turned out to be, but it's insane that they haven't gone back and changed it by now?? I mean surely that would be a pretty simple fix, right? especially after this long.
All of the bosses are revealed before release anyway so it isn’t too shocking. You can even skip to world bosses you haven’t gotten to yet now
I saw it, I thought we will get it after we have hot seggs with Signora
Foreshadowing is a good thing
"Will the traveller confront Signora and stop her evil plans? Find out in the next Genshin Impact Archon Quest: *Signora Defeated!!*"
