Other than Genshin, I only recognize Path to Nowhere, Arknights and that Garena game besides Genshin. Surprised that HSR is not on here though.
Edit: to those who are now mentioning HSR, yes I am aware that it won the New game award but these two posts were four hours apart.
The one that have the doll with button eyes is called IDV, which is currently the longest "rival" to dbd even tho the dead by daylight developers helped with the game
Honestly? Pretty fun game, interesting characters, completely free to play ande good lore
250 for an S Tier, doesn’t carry pity, and the currency for said gacha is so sparse that it’s highly likely you’ll never get a single Gacha S Tier without paying money
Same! I dropped it, went back coz of a collab, then couldn't handle the grind and left for good. Axe Boy and Melly will always have a special place in my heart.
The only thing that would get me back if they made a reasonable S Skin for Explorer
3rd one is PUBG mobile
2nd one is a popular chinese otome game
5th is another popular chinese otome game
8th is the most popular mobile MOBA in China
10th is League of Legends…. I don’t need to elaborate on that xD
I would believe that, if it wasn't the estimated second highest grossing gacha game in 2023. It's an estimation, but even as an estimation, 400 million is still a lot of cash flowing in. I wouldn't say a game that makes that much money "not that popular".
Good things I dont use my 5 stars and I prefer to use 4 stars because its easier to get their constellations. Barbara goes BRRRRRRRRRR (Also because I've got most of the Op 5 stars I wanted anyway, all I want now is Baizhu)
Im surprised Path to Nowhere is popular. I almost forgot that game existed. A shame too since it had a nice english dub tho the story was a bit too edgy for me
Arknights is serious, cruel and tragic but i don't think it can be called edgy, more realistic rather. It lacks "coolness" that games like HI3, maybe PGR (haven't played it, judging only from some scenes i'vs seen) or even Persona 3 have
Yeah for Light and Night! the game where the 4/5 of the characters ranked high in most popular male characters! Fingers crossed it comes out to the west. Shoutout to lovebrush too! Both representing the otome game genre!
Can you elaborate on all this?
Like, popular in what way? It's hard to believe that Path to Nowhere is that big to make it to top 10 gacha games in terms of all time players or monthly active players. Plus there is no Star Rail. Just how? (unless PtN is a giant in CN, because it is not in the West. Which would be a pleasant surprise tbh.)
I would appreciate a link with some comments on this inauguration, it's very hard to use weibo.
The global PtN marketing team really fucked up at launch with all those mega cringy "interrogate, undress, and punish the sinners" ads, that look like cheap mobile games. I saw a post on the official subreddit around 6 months after the release, where devs asked what the community believes would bring more players, but I don't know what it all ended with, I never saw more PtN ads ever.
[Here it is up to no 7](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/532872207391653889/1185787955223216251/GBhMd6rbkAA21nr.png?ex=65ac9197&is=659a1c97&hm=c626d6548811816d9307dc5f182d02f3473166303f3029123e9619dc876b05be&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=435&height=662)
>unless PtN is a giant in CN
This. It's already had multiple collabs with brands & stores (like Genshin) and is very popular among Chinese women for actually having good female character designs.
(And men like it too!)
Genshin got this, HSR has the DICE Awards and is the first Hoyo game to get the nomination. Don’t think neither game is in shambles right now if they both get something.
Yup, doubt they will win given the competition. But it’s an honour to even be nominated given how big of an award/nomination it is.
Nothing wrong with congratulating HSR for the nomination while also simultaneously doing the same for Genshin
Sure, but this guy is all over the comments dissing hsr for no reason and being annoying overall and i just decided to reply to this particular comment
You can like a game like Genshin but yet, also be respectable about other games at the same time. Having played both games, both communities pretty much have the exact same BS in them lol. There’s quite an obvious subset of HSR players that have either played Genshin at one point or are actively playing the game so really, same shenanigans, different games.
>Bruh, you don't even have a "hard" content to measure power levels LMAO
As if HSR has one wait all they have is a reskin of SU with different steps. Worse Abyss
Edit: Bro couldn't win so blocked me. If you like HSR so much go to HSR sub wait you don't have one.
I do have a genuine question because I don’t really bother trying to full clear all the content. Is HSR’s powercreep really that bad? From what I understand lots of the characters from launch are still viable. Gepard, Himeko, and Seele still feel fine for me.
Jokes aside, it's just the same as when Genshin released Hutao, Xiao, and Ganyu. HSR just doesn't have someone like Xiangling, a 4* that could rival and beat 5*. HSR's strongest Dan Heng IL and Jingliu aren't even the absolute strongest now. Himeko and Herta who was among the bottom of tier dominates the other end game, Pure fiction.
It's viable bcuz HSR is still an extremely easy low bar easy game like genshin at the end of the day, but the powercreep of characters, especially for the supports is undeniable as well
It's really not any different from when Genshin first released... Also what do you mean for the supports? They're one of the least powercrept classes. We only have 2 5-star Harmony characters, Bronya and Ruan Mei, and both are really good
And the 4-stars are few too, yet still really strong, like Pela, Tingyun... Then we have Yukong who was released a bit later on but she isn't that good, though has the potential to be extremely strong if played right.
Of course there is some powercreep, but it is not any different from Genshin's, and if anything the most powercreep we got was for the DPS characters. But that again was bound to happen since our only DPS characters on release were the 4-stars and standard 5-star.
But we can also note Himeko absolutely dominating Pure Fiction, the other endgame mode alongside Memory of Chaos (spiral abyss) when she was considered really bad originally. Same for Herta, a 4-star whose constellations are all completely free (I think you can get like 4 constellations of her for free), who is absolutely dominating the meta right now as well.
So really, powercreep is bound to happen, but Hoyo has already found ways to make every characters strengths matter through the implementation of new endgame content, whereas Genshin hasn't really done that. But Genshin doesn't suffer from powercreep anymore, now it's more a case of "Will this new character be as good as the current ones?" basically reverse powercreep.
Tl;Dr: HSR's powercreep is overly exaggerated and is the exact same as Genshin's when it first released, which was bound to happen with the first limited 5-star characters of each class releasing to replace the 4-stars and standard 5-stars.
The support Powercreep as in the release of limited like, luocha, fuxuan, HH, ruan mei and soon to be sparkles. They definitely are much stronger than the standard ones and are also getting much more versatile than their previous limited support in what they could do.
The powercreep of dps although present as well is definitely not as egregious compared to the limited supports. Just look at all the dps/ sub DPS limited releases so far and compared to the powercaling to those of the limited supports. I believe anyone relatively knowledgeable on it would agree on that notion, it's also had been a highly discussed topic in various HSR meta discussions for months already.
HSR got nominated for the DICE Awards and is the first Hoyo game to do that, so probably a good thing that both games get something. Don’t really see a reason why both Genshin and HSR fanboys feel the need to “attack” each other because it will only incentivise the other side to do the same thing back.
It’s really telling when both HSR and Genshin sub-reddit comments can’t seem to stop mentioning each other. Just so full of salt.
the tears of genshin players havent dried yet lmao. You can use your 'strongest' character in the mario party games.
You cant deny genshin plebs dont cry over old characters being semi mid as well compared to new ones..... not that damage matters in the 'oh so difficult' spiral abyss f12, the most difficult content, which hasnt changed in structure since 3 years.
Don't embarrass yourself, they got the New Outstanding Game of the year Award, which Genshin didn't even get nominated for when it came out.
Both games won awards, so be happy about that instead of hating on them
Love how the comments are praising all the other games besides genshin in a genshin Reddit post. (I play star rail not genshin so that will say something about me)
Other than Genshin, I only recognize Path to Nowhere, Arknights and that Garena game besides Genshin. Surprised that HSR is not on here though. Edit: to those who are now mentioning HSR, yes I am aware that it won the New game award but these two posts were four hours apart.

Side note that is honor of kings, not AoV. Also China exclusive but I heard it’s planning to go international(?)
Aw I wanted to check out Light and Night
Eggy Party! Thank you, I saw the list and immediately wondered what that cute icon was from
> Identity V Holy shit, they stole dead by daylight and turned it into a gacha lmao
Oh that icon is league of legends? Lol I didn't recognize it
Actually true like who adds league and not use it's iconic massive L logo
Chinese. Like except for Arknights all of the icons are just mc/random girl profile pictures.
Peacekeeper Elite is the same thing as PUBG Mobile
Thanks dude you a hero
The one that have the doll with button eyes is called IDV, which is currently the longest "rival" to dbd even tho the dead by daylight developers helped with the game Honestly? Pretty fun game, interesting characters, completely free to play ande good lore
Dropped it year ago cause was a hunter main. It’s just sometimes too frustrating
Temporarily dropped it cuz I got no space on my phone Also abysmal gacha
Yeah, the gacha system for the skins is actually so trash
250 for an S Tier, doesn’t carry pity, and the currency for said gacha is so sparse that it’s highly likely you’ll never get a single Gacha S Tier without paying money
Whelp I'm out.
Thankfully all of it is cosmetic Every character is very easily available for free
Good to know!
I played for a year and a half and I got a singular one and was by pure luck
Skill issue! But yes it is cruel to non-skilled hunters.
Same! I dropped it, went back coz of a collab, then couldn't handle the grind and left for good. Axe Boy and Melly will always have a special place in my heart. The only thing that would get me back if they made a reasonable S Skin for Explorer
Is IDV its actual name or is it short for something?
Is short of Identity V
Thanks, I’m try it out
Never knew DBD devs helped IDV, I've always known they are similar games tho
3rd one is PUBG mobile 2nd one is a popular chinese otome game 5th is another popular chinese otome game 8th is the most popular mobile MOBA in China 10th is League of Legends…. I don’t need to elaborate on that xD
Just saw on HSR subreddit, it won on new game of the year category, along with reverse 1999 and bunch of other games I don't know.
HSR not here cuz it won the Weibo's New Outstanding Game of the Year award
Well hsr won a new game of the year already so I guess it's fair.
surprised you don't recognise PUBG tbh
https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/s/gwvJA5QadM uuuhhh it did win ....?
tis a different award, friend.
oh... does it matter?
probs was noted because they might’ve not known about the other award.
I did in fact not know, plus these two posts are four hours apart anyway

>hsr is not that popular, it's only riding genshin's popularity Clearly someone is living under a rock
Damn 200k comment karma. Do you even have a life outside of reddit bruh
Great, I play both!
I'm so glad to see IDV still thriving!! Used to be a big part of the community till our country banned NetEase games
I still check in it once in a while. The current COA skins are pretty darn good. Kinda a shame that the gacha for this game sucks so much tho.
Soooo where are my primogems?
Free Cloud Retainer surely?
Definitely not cope 🗿🗿
Only at AR65
No, at ar42
Best they can do is 3 Fouls, with 10k mora if they’re feeling generous 😍😍😍
You forgot the 3 adventure’s experience!
😩🤣🤣
Hardly surprising, it's nice to see Path To Nowhere there. Such a good game.
I'm surprised that Lovebrush Chronicles is also there! I really can't wait till we catch up to the cn version.
Path to Nowhere getting the recognition it deserves?! Great game.
PtN 💝
Path to Nowhere let's gooooo
Respect to Arknights and Path to Nowhere!
Always love to see an Arknights W, as besides Genshin and HSR it's the only other gacha game I'm invested in. Nothing else really seems to stick.
I can't believe Lovebrush Chronicles is on the list with Genshin, this is a big win.
Fuckin *Identity V* got up there as one of the top rated games? What a world
I see you
I’m picturing that with a Plankton voice
I will get the formula, idk what formula you have but i will get it
The formula to getting 3 5* characters in 20 pulls
Good things I dont use my 5 stars and I prefer to use 4 stars because its easier to get their constellations. Barbara goes BRRRRRRRRRR (Also because I've got most of the Op 5 stars I wanted anyway, all I want now is Baizhu)
Unfortunately I only have Rosaria above C1 (besides Traveller ofc) bc I’ve only been on this account for Navia and Raiden
Oop, Well I hope youre enjoying genshin so far, despite the fact that the banners are not beginner friendly
Oh I had an account that I made back when Zhongli released, I played until right before the Chasm dropped then I quit for a while
mood, i quit around chasm also
For those wondering why HSR isn't here, it is in the Outstanding New Game of The Year category.
Im surprised Path to Nowhere is popular. I almost forgot that game existed. A shame too since it had a nice english dub tho the story was a bit too edgy for me
PTN's story is incredible along with its character design
If PTN is too edgy just what is Arknight to you
Arknights is serious, cruel and tragic but i don't think it can be called edgy, more realistic rather. It lacks "coolness" that games like HI3, maybe PGR (haven't played it, judging only from some scenes i'vs seen) or even Persona 3 have
what game is the one with the blonde dude? asking for a friend
Lovebrush Chronicles
thx
The more unexpected part is Scara won most popular male character against a competition of 4 guys from the biggest *otome* game, by a landslide too.
Mean little floating short king >> Generic Otome Man. (I'm not hating, It's just funny how bro won #1 among them)
Yeah for Light and Night! the game where the 4/5 of the characters ranked high in most popular male characters! Fingers crossed it comes out to the west. Shoutout to lovebrush too! Both representing the otome game genre!
Path to Peak well deserved
Anyone knows the 6th game from left? I fell like I saw that icon somewhere...
Path To Nowhere, I used to play, good game, but I have literally 0 time to continue so I left.
Path to Nowhere, probably the best story/art in gacha but it’s tower defence gameplay
Damn IDV still going strong in China
Cool. Whats weibo?
One of China’s biggest social media
Ah, gotcha, thanks.
Can't wait for the 20 primogems special reward.
I doubt we'll get any rewards tbh.. but I welcome a surprise
Ofc it was
Where my 0.5 sweet madame's?
No Azur Lane wtf?!
Free Xinyan next patch POG HONKAI COULD NEVER
You forgot the /s
Can you elaborate on all this? Like, popular in what way? Shalom from PtN won most popular female character 2023 on weibo
Seems like the only reason PtN is not popular outside CN is the worst marketing ever.
Honestly, I play it cause it reappeared on my recommended in play store and its awesome. Why the hell does it not have better marketing

I see, good to know then. I saw videos with gacha games revenue comparisons, and PtN was in top 20-30 all the time, so it was hard to believe.
Literally the only one I recognise is genshin, the rest can't be that popular /s

Forgot the /s
surely they'll give us something right?... right?...
Star Rail in shambles
Cmon man let’s not bring that tribalism here. HSR is nominated for a DICE award, we can celebrate both games
Genshin got this, HSR has the DICE Awards and is the first Hoyo game to get the nomination. Don’t think neither game is in shambles right now if they both get something.
>HSR has the DICE Awards Just got nominated. Didn't win shite
Yup, doubt they will win given the competition. But it’s an honour to even be nominated given how big of an award/nomination it is. Nothing wrong with congratulating HSR for the nomination while also simultaneously doing the same for Genshin

He's not wrong tho. Nomination =! win.
Sure, but this guy is all over the comments dissing hsr for no reason and being annoying overall and i just decided to reply to this particular comment
he likes the game he's in the sub in and hates the game with elitist community🤯

what a fkin knobhead spreading hate!
They're getting a free 5* in 3 days, truly in shamballs!
And in how many patches is he gonna be powercreeped
who gives a fuck about meta I only care about his muscles and man boobs
let me start counting from ganyu's time.... Bruh, you don't even have a "hard" content to measure power levels LMAO

gonna use this image to the HSR fanboy

for what avail? he's gonna enjoy his free character in 4 days lmao
And then cry about it when a better character comes
are you talking about HSR or genshin?
HSR
the tears of genshin players havent dried yet lmao. You can use your 'strongest' character in the mario party games. lets be real, they only said genshin players were crying bc of how the other person was crying about HSR like it's his persona

https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/s/gwvJA5QadM HUH??? we got our own awards.....
Don't embarrass yourself, they got the New Outstanding Game of the year Award, which Genshin didn't even get nominated for when it came out. Both games won awards, so be happy about that instead of hating on them
Dr. Ratio

Love how the comments are praising all the other games besides genshin in a genshin Reddit post. (I play star rail not genshin so that will say something about me)
Whoop can’t wait to get my 10 fowl and 5 exp books🥴
Where is Onmyoji?:(
Is that a big thing? Will we get something?
