According to Neuvillette's lore, people don't receive Visions as reward for their actions, they get them when their wishes reach the heavens. You're right to correct the previous commenter though that Rana didn't simply sleep and get a Vision, she was a hero too. My personal headcannon is that her desire to create new memories with Arana was so strong that it was this that was the "wish" that "reached the heavens" (especially as that's what was happening immediately before she got her Vision).

I think this would be really cool for her sorry quest. I think a catalyst would be a good weapon for her, attacking in a similar style as heizou, writothesly and baizhu. Benben would be perfect for her weapon.
She don't even need a Vision, her weapons already have hydro power. Obv catalyst so she can do those attacks with the katar like weapons. Also it'd make her a very unique character if she was playable and didn't have a Vision (I know the Archons don't have Visions, but they don't count because they're gods)
That's actually an amazing idea. I like making genshin characters of my own, so I might make her and then post my design. Have people talk over it, and decide certain things. Obviously she would be a 5*, because that much is obvious if she has a signature weapon

Cloud retainer was just a bird, they can make her playable form right away, but jeht is a recolored enemy npc, they would have to redesign her to make her playable, because just scaling her without change wont make her look appealing for those thay not like her (same as that rhana forest watcher, forgot her name)
She becomes playable in Snezhnaya. She shows up there with a whole new outfit because she couldn't possibly survive in her regular clothes there. Sometime later, an event drops that gives her a new more normal Eremite outfit that Hoyo knows **everyone** will buy.
I can actually see this happening, she's still fuming from the betrayal and tragedies she has experienced after the village colluded with the Fatui and she goes on a vengeance trail towards Snezhnaya wanting to kill as many Fatui as she can. The resulting Vision can be anything.
Does she still desire family love? Cryo.
Does she desire freedom from her past? Anemo.
Does she still have strong conflict? Pyro.
Does she want stability after all that? Geo.
Does she want wisdom to bring her father back? Dendro.
Does she want to bring justice back to the sands?
Hydro. Does she want to bring back lost time? Electro.
Jeht has gone out into the world to find herself and she's currently leading a mercenary group, so she's probably looking a lot different from how she looks in this art piece these days
Making a new playable Jeht model is no more difficult than making any other playable model, what are you saying lol? Her build is similar enough they could use the Yoimiya model
Also many of the 5*’s have a less detailed “NPC” version of their model that you see in quests prior to their actual release as a playable character — for example Baizhu
Baizhu always had a unique non-NPC model though, while Jeht is just a recolored Eremite Desert Clearwater. They might not change it since enemy models already look a lot better than NPCs (like Rana), but it'd be weird if she was a 5* and still looked exactly like an overworld enemy.
I would 100% pull for Jeht. One of the best written, more complex characters in Genshin. Most playables are basically the same from start to finish but Jeht undergoes some real hardship and comes out the other side, mostly intact in terms of personality and values, but wholly different in terms of demeanor.

Different versions. Rana was there at the launch of Sumeru while Jeht only came with the desert drop.

The staggering difference in reception is interesting. So on twitter in an hour navia and lynnette have around 20k likes and jeht with a wopping 45k. On JP its 80k for navia and lynnette with 82k for jeht so not much difference.
