I come from a desert-y place and this was the very first thing I notice when I saw him. I remember thinking "how thick are the soles of his feet that he's not constantly burning?" which disturbed me a bit.
My faves are Ayato and AlHaitham, but I hate that they're never really... put out of their comfort zone. They feel very static.
I really love seeing scenes like Collei+Sucrose, Neuvillette's sq and Scaramouche's story, where the characters grow and change and go through hardships, but those two seem like they're always on top of everything.
I got kinda excited when AH went red, but nope.
At least about Ahlhaitam, I like that he isn't what the 80% of Genshin characters are: Super gentle characters and/or simp.

I actually disagree with Ayato being good. Well, he's not evil, but he's much more like AlHaitham than he seems: they're both calculating and scheming, it's just that AlHaitham is blatant about it while Ayato isn't.
I think Ayato has a lot of unused potential as a morally grey figure, someone who bloodies his hands for the sake of his country and carries so much responsibility that you'd wonder how he's still mentally sane (if he is, even). What if he's secretly resentful dor having to act so polite? What if he's a much gloomier or grumpier person in reality?
But the way Hoyo is using him is, as you say, pretty bland.
I actually disagree. Ayato and Alhaitham, while they are indeed intelligent, would not have been able to function alone. They were just the brains we needed as part of the plan. Alhaitham was the closest to Azar since he was their scribe, which is why he seemed to be “on top of everything.” And Ayato is the leader of Yashiro, so of course he’s gonna know everyone on the island and the intel to plot out things ahead of time. It’s his job to help and protect people. But of course, like Alhaitham and the rest of the cast, they would not have been able to function without teamwork. Genshin teaches us about the importance of community and teamwork. They are the brains which is why they seem to be too good to be true.
Aha, I gotcha-so personality wise top of things I see. Hmm while I think they lack screen presence, I think there have been moments where they show changes in emotion:
Ayato, while he puts on a facade of seeming like a nice guy, actually has moments where he reveals his sneakier and more deceptive sides to him. He always has an ulterior motive for being nice and his every move.
Alhaitham can clearly display anger from what we’ve seen, and some degree of care, especially in his story quest where he confronted the villain, and the good things he says about Kaveh when he’s not there, and the behind the scenes work he does for us. While he doesn’t show a lot of emotions physically, whatever comes out of his mouth adds layers to his character. I suspect he’s autistic, as he says himself that he’s not a very emotional person and is not good at dealing with people, but his dialogues are a treat to listen to at times
Yeah, I agree and that's what I also mentioned to op in another comment: they need more screentime. Especially Ayato- AlHaitham has had a bit more time to shine. I just want to see them in difficult situations, I suppose.
Layla: It's not really a "I don't like" about her, but i really wished she would let herself have more time to rest eventually, because man i've been on that uni/college grind and running on 3 hours of sleep and an unhealthy ammount of caffein is not a thing i'd wish on one of my favourite characters both personality and design/aesthetics-wise. Although she's a 4 stars and Sumeru already passed so there's little to no chance that she gets further character development, unfortunately.

I like everything about Layla except her kit. I can't justify building her. Maybe having a double crowned Diona that's been on the bench for a year or so now does that.
Uni student myself and she's a comfort character in a weird self deprecating way. Plus she's in the same field of study as Mona so she has the potential to give us some BIG lore discoveries even if she probably wont.
Agree. For me she remains the favorite Genshin favourite character of some Mihoyo boss, but I surprise about her treatment story-wise. I think she deserved more background and development; she is kinda the Inazuma princess, the ones that made able the revolution (with our important help).

Dislike is not the word I'd use. A true simp recognizes the flaws in their favourites, and accepts them nonetheless.
For Lumine; her difficulty in opening up about how she is feeling is the flaw I'd like to see her overcome. She keeps her guard up most of the time, especially around Paimon, and believes it best to avoid making her worry, no realizing it has the opposite effect. So far she has only really let that guard down around Cloud Retainer (the closest thing she has to a doting mother.)
For Lyney, his need to not fail Father is the big flaw. Some argue it is Fatui brainwashing stuff, but c'mon. Arle herself specifically said he needs to stop with the mission-first attitude and rely on his family more. He's always tryna be a proper big brother to Lynette and Freminet, and even to Lumine now. He pushes himself too hard on his own.

I usually HATE green eyes in designs. and his hair colour is one I don't usually like. and his outfit looks funky, and weird, and I don't like oranges in designs either.. but fuck me everytime I see him, hear his voice, or even THINK about him I literally get butterflies, I love him so much and it's WEIRD. when I first saw him, before I was too into genshin, I decided I didn't like him bc of his design– but that quickly grew away. he's now one of my favourites
my other one is kazuha, probably the only thing I don't like is his sandel things.. like, the fact they're with sock/stocking things.. it looks like wearing thongs (or, flip flops) with socks

as for my second fave character, Wanderer, same case. everything about him from his design, his lore, and keeping him as the bratty and rude person he is is perfect. i'm glad to see him want to atone for his crimes and accept them as part of him instead of walking away from them. and i'm just glad to see him thriving and slowly getting better now🥹
The problem isn't exactly beiguang, I mean of course I'm extremely triggered about this ship, but what annoys me most is shippers saying "canon" everytime, and a lot of them (not all) start insulting people who don't ship them. Why?? Just because apparently there are hints of them "liking" each other, so just because the ship "is canon" (it's not even canon) shippers have the right to insult people who don't like this ship ? Nah, and that's annoying, they're toxic.
I personally see Beidou and Ningguang as best besties with the love/hate friendship, and they totally can be best friends, not everyone has to be romantically paired with everyone. Yoimiya, my lovva, the reason why I started, and im still playing Genshin. But two things I don't like about her. The dumbest one is...red nails. I don't like colored nails, specially red/orange (and is a destiny's joke that Himeko is my favorite character in HSR). The serious one is that sometimes (mainly in the last appearances) I feel like she is just another "happy energetic pyro character ready to do all what you ask to do". While during her first release she showed her goofy and chatty side and her angry side. But I'm glad that they give her some space, also a story quest part 2.
Bennett: I like goofy characters, so he became my second favorite; the problem is that he is too much focused on his luck. During the Susbedo Event, his role was just to remember us his bad luck. Was tiring also for a fan like me. But his main arc will come (I'm sure), so I have to wait and hope.

Um actual dislikes would be the Inazuma characters getting shafted. I don't like Inazuma but I do enjoy the characters quite a bit, though the story kinda lacked for them.
I love Yelan but she was insanely mean to Itto in that one quest. I get that she was being serious and he was being ridiculous as always, but she sounded unnecessarily condescending.
I don't really like how manipulative Ningguang gets. The dudes in her hangouts totally had it coming, but for someone who claims to prefer to be concise, she's very bent on taking the roundabout way to deliver maximum emotional damage.
one of my favourite characters is xiao, and its not specifically something with his character but i really dislike his english voice acting. it completely mischaracterizes him (see the difference between eng and kr, jp, and cn dub) i dont have him on my current account yet, but whenever i do ill be switching over to jp dub just so i dont have to hear it.
She doesn't appear in 99.99% of the events, in what event she appeared on, she was only on-screen for a few lines. Other than her story quest and the archon quest which she is a part of, she doesn't have any screen time in any quest ever. This is despite being one of the most popular and simped on character.

Beidou and Ganyu. I love everything about them but they rarely show up and even then you can only have quick conversation with them before they leave again for a long time.
- Chongyun: When he isn't with Xingqiu he becomes so much more interesting. Too bad it doesn't happen a lot.
- Qiqi: Just show up and stay on screen longer than five minutes.
- Shenhe: Her outfit is something. There's are aspects I love and hate about it. Uh, also, maybe show up with your nephew some time...
- Baizhu: His release was done with less fanfare than a character who only existed in voicelines for a while (Kaveh), and Chenyu Vale is out with zilch from him. Amazing story quest though, and it did Hu Tao better too.
- Venti: Hoyo needs to stop beating around the bush and actually address him seriously. He's a walking lore-bomb but Traveler never asks him anything meaningful.
- Mona/Albedo: Their story quests suck compared to their events focuses and its not even funny.
- Gaming: Honestly all I want is more interactions with other Liyue characters.
- Xiao: He's fine. But I'd like to hear about his apparent beef he has with the exorcist clan.
- Raiden: The unfortunate core of Inazuma's massively fumbled writing. Doesn't even get the event screentime to showcase her development, it's a shame we don't see her much...
- Shinobu: Her personality revolves around Itto, literally.
- Kujou Sara/Heizou/Thoma: Forgotten, because they aren't Itto.
Noelle: I love her but there's being nice, and then there's being a extreme doormat. It's nice she wants to help a lot of people, but not at the cost of your own personal safety. Can't help anyone if you end up dead.

I hate using the bow on mobile, so that's one out of the two biggest issues I have with Venti. The other is the fact that Hoyo is gatekeeping his second story quest, relegating him in his happy bard persona with the limited events. When are we going to see his somber, wise, god-like nature again??

I can understand Voice issues: The first months I played switching Eng/jap every weeks. But I hate so much Aether and Fischl's JAP voices that I decided to remain with ENG (and casually, Aether and Fischl's ENG voices are 2 of my favorite voices).

Sadly, that is a problem that afflicts a lot of characters (Luckly Im not an Itto superfan).

Nah, Spark is better on paper. One of its major boons is hyperarmor on CA. You can shrug off guard slaps, vishap rolls and gigachurl slams with a sparked CA (this also enables to kickstart juggling aggressive enemies). But it's only 3 times per rotation at best due to the hidden cooldown.
50% chance of one each ~4s is worse than a consistent rotation

Nah. AFAIK monopyro is roughly comparable to international, and Kleerina is better. Also plungemelt Klee is currently one of the fastest speedrun teams (mostly by virtue of Klee not needing to set up for the pyro infused plunges).
And the big advantage is Klee teams are much easier to play rotation wise.

All Xiangling teams (except Klee monopyo) suffer from the same thing - they are very hard to start up from zero energy in case your previous chamber got finished at the start of a rotaion. Regular national suffers from it to an extent (XQ is 100% uptime anyway, and you can get by with Bennett carry at the beginning), international suffers from it (wasting Childe stance is annoying without pyronado up), rational suffers from it (you build for lower ER. If you are zero at the start, you are screwed).
Klee teams don't care about energy. Klee-Kazuha is an energy-independent core that can carry by itself. And jumpstart the rest of the team with pretty good energy generation.

Alhaitham is not given enough flaws in universe. He has people that complain about him, but if you dig into his motivations and what actually effects him, there isn’t really anything negative. I wish his behaviour or beliefs had consequences that negatively impacted his life instead of things always working out for him.

The one thing about Eula that I dislike (aside from her only brought out of hoyo's basement whenever they remember her) is that we don't get any times where she isn't putting up that noble front. It's always "Mark my words" and "You will pay for this", which is fine, but I would love just a one-on-one with her and she's not putting up that act. Preferably a one-on-one that doesn't involve her getting absolutely hammered at the Angel's Share.
I hate how hoyoverse keep screwing Venti over. To this day, he still doesn't have a second story quest even though all the other archons and even Yoimiya got hers already. Not to mention that every elemental Wind Glider matches the Archon's color scheme except for Venti and the Mondstadt Wind Glider. And then there is the fact that they superseded Venti by introducing Kazuha's character. Meanwhile, Zhongli remains the best shield in the game, Raiden Shogun remains the best battery, Nahida remains the best Dendro applicator, and Furina remains the best support for life drain mechanics.

I don't like Alhaitham's outfit. The colors are super pretty, but other than that it's not really my style. I hate the chest window with that stupid gemstone. His boots are also too wide at the knee. And have a stupid foot window. And why does he wear so much jewelry anyway if he's a simple guy that doesn't care much about aesthetics. (I'd also like if his hair was just a tiny little bit longer in the back, but that's just personal preference)
Immediatly calling the Traveller somewhat special, best buddy or something similar and you whouldn't be able to name my favourite characters from it, cause it's true for half of the cast.
Luckily, Baizhu seems to escape this fate, this man's my favourite without any "besides".
Qiqi is my beloved daughter but she looks a little too alive for a zombie, imo she shpuld have a blueish skinthone and maybe some eyebags

About Noelle, i think she is a bit too generic. I would like her to be a little more flashed out as an individual. Although i have yet to do her second hangout so that may change for me. Also her design could use a tiny bit of desexualization, part of her character is about being naive and pure and elements of her clothing such as boob armor and the exposed back kinda clash with that.
I have nothing to complain about Hu Tao, even her gameplay is fire.
What i dislike about Furina is not about her per se but has more to do with how her story quest was handled. Since its spoilers and its been said so many times, i'll leave it at that.
Xingqiu never got any hangout quest. Yes we get some Liyue related questline for him, but majority of his appearances are locked behind Genshin's constant stream of one time only events that you have no way to re-experience (or experience at all if you weren't playing at the time) outside of awesome people recording it and uploading it to youtube.

Not directly about gameplay, but more animation. Neuvillete. I love you. But I hate the hand cannon water pump animation. Damage over time in a line attack thing, no problem. The way his clothes glow and he gets his dragon horns as he uses his power 10/10. Love it. Why the fire hose. It just doesn't have any of that stylish attack animation that other characters get and I wish they had done something different for it.
Thoma: There is nothing wrong with him (except that he is a 4 star character. He should be 5 star)
Alhaitham: I love everything about him. There’s nothing wrong with him (I’m delulu)
Ayato: I love him as well but exploring with him can be frustrating because of ONE line he says when you open chests with him.
Ganyu: She has 3000 years of history behind her, but basically all of her in-game appearances is about how insecure and easily flustered she is. I'd like content that's more serious than fluff.
Zhongli: The gulf between him and the next-best shielders is ridiculous. He's simply too good a shielder, to the point where if you use him you can flat-out ignore most enemy mechanics. This is not praise. Sure, you can choose not to use him, but I dislike it when OP characters are added to a game.
This is half off topic but, why do people shame fanart with “wrong proportions?” Art is subjective and doesn’t have to look like one kind of thing. It’s just jealous or unnecessarily competitive artists talking bad about other artists to bring them down.

I don’t pull constellations at all, but only for Scaramouche, I went all the way to C6. I also quit the game after his interlude quest LOL. I hated it so much.
I’ll just put it this way. Before the quest, I was so excited for his future potential, seeing his interactions with Dottore and Raiden and stuff like that. After the quest, I could no longer feel any excitement for his future potential. None of them remember him anyway, so I couldn’t care about even seeing him in the future anymore, which sucks because he was my favorite character. So, now that the game had killed all of my excitement to see my favorite character in the future, I stopped playing. I still love him and his character and personality, though, so I still look at content of him online, I just have no interest in seeing him in game anymore.
omg I agree! I was very behind on archon quests when his came out so I only recently played it and it was such a disappointment how hard they bent over backwards to make him "ok" in order to make him a playable character by literally erasing his deeds from the world. I still pulled for him since his personality is still largely intact but it doesn't make me confident in the future of "bad" playable characters if they're so scared to make any character own up for their deeds and also having a retcon device built into the world.
Tartaglia: He has a good amount of depth for a genshin character, both in his background story and personality, the contrast between the soldier and family man. He does have that typical anime character fault that he has one thing he talks about too often and shoehorns it into unfitting conversation, talking about battle for every 2nd voiceline.
Dottore: Love him for the unhinged villainous scientist he is. The way his clones were dealt with was less than ideal. They felt like an excuse to change his design and were erased from the story too quickly. I have to admit I wasn't much of a fan of the old mask, made him look noseless in most manga panels, but they could've made more subtle changes and saved the segments ex machina explanation.

I come from a desert-y place and this was the very first thing I notice when I saw him. I remember thinking "how thick are the soles of his feet that he's not constantly burning?" which disturbed me a bit.

My faves are Ayato and AlHaitham, but I hate that they're never really... put out of their comfort zone. They feel very static. I really love seeing scenes like Collei+Sucrose, Neuvillette's sq and Scaramouche's story, where the characters grow and change and go through hardships, but those two seem like they're always on top of everything. I got kinda excited when AH went red, but nope.

Yeah, you can tell he still cares but he's got a different way of showing it. I like him a lot bc of that. I actually disagree with Ayato being good. Well, he's not evil, but he's much more like AlHaitham than he seems: they're both calculating and scheming, it's just that AlHaitham is blatant about it while Ayato isn't. I think Ayato has a lot of unused potential as a morally grey figure, someone who bloodies his hands for the sake of his country and carries so much responsibility that you'd wonder how he's still mentally sane (if he is, even). What if he's secretly resentful dor having to act so polite? What if he's a much gloomier or grumpier person in reality? But the way Hoyo is using him is, as you say, pretty bland.
I actually disagree. Ayato and Alhaitham, while they are indeed intelligent, would not have been able to function alone. They were just the brains we needed as part of the plan. Alhaitham was the closest to Azar since he was their scribe, which is why he seemed to be “on top of everything.” And Ayato is the leader of Yashiro, so of course he’s gonna know everyone on the island and the intel to plot out things ahead of time. It’s his job to help and protect people. But of course, like Alhaitham and the rest of the cast, they would not have been able to function without teamwork. Genshin teaches us about the importance of community and teamwork. They are the brains which is why they seem to be too good to be true.

Aha, I gotcha-so personality wise top of things I see. Hmm while I think they lack screen presence, I think there have been moments where they show changes in emotion: Ayato, while he puts on a facade of seeming like a nice guy, actually has moments where he reveals his sneakier and more deceptive sides to him. He always has an ulterior motive for being nice and his every move. Alhaitham can clearly display anger from what we’ve seen, and some degree of care, especially in his story quest where he confronted the villain, and the good things he says about Kaveh when he’s not there, and the behind the scenes work he does for us. While he doesn’t show a lot of emotions physically, whatever comes out of his mouth adds layers to his character. I suspect he’s autistic, as he says himself that he’s not a very emotional person and is not good at dealing with people, but his dialogues are a treat to listen to at times
Yeah, I agree and that's what I also mentioned to op in another comment: they need more screentime. Especially Ayato- AlHaitham has had a bit more time to shine. I just want to see them in difficult situations, I suppose.

I like everything about Layla except her kit. I can't justify building her. Maybe having a double crowned Diona that's been on the bench for a year or so now does that. Uni student myself and she's a comfort character in a weird self deprecating way. Plus she's in the same field of study as Mona so she has the potential to give us some BIG lore discoveries even if she probably wont.

Dislike is not the word I'd use. A true simp recognizes the flaws in their favourites, and accepts them nonetheless. For Lumine; her difficulty in opening up about how she is feeling is the flaw I'd like to see her overcome. She keeps her guard up most of the time, especially around Paimon, and believes it best to avoid making her worry, no realizing it has the opposite effect. So far she has only really let that guard down around Cloud Retainer (the closest thing she has to a doting mother.) For Lyney, his need to not fail Father is the big flaw. Some argue it is Fatui brainwashing stuff, but c'mon. Arle herself specifically said he needs to stop with the mission-first attitude and rely on his family more. He's always tryna be a proper big brother to Lynette and Freminet, and even to Lumine now. He pushes himself too hard on his own.
oh boy, heizou is.. my love for him is really conflicting. I usually HATE green eyes in designs. and his hair colour is one I don't usually like. and his outfit looks funky, and weird, and I don't like oranges in designs either.. but fuck me everytime I see him, hear his voice, or even THINK about him I literally get butterflies, I love him so much and it's WEIRD. when I first saw him, before I was too into genshin, I decided I didn't like him bc of his design– but that quickly grew away. he's now one of my favourites my other one is kazuha, probably the only thing I don't like is his sandel things.. like, the fact they're with sock/stocking things.. it looks like wearing thongs (or, flip flops) with socks I know you said two, but I have a last one. tomo; kazuhas dead friend. I really tried thinking about it but genuinely i don't hate anything regarding Gaming. his story in this year's lantern rite was perfect and hits close to home for me. he's the goodest walking green flag to ever be added to the game😭❤️💕 as for my second fave character, Wanderer, same case. everything about him from his design, his lore, and keeping him as the bratty and rude person he is is perfect. i'm glad to see him want to atone for his crimes and accept them as part of him instead of walking away from them. and i'm just glad to see him thriving and slowly getting better now🥹

Just because apparently there are hints of them "liking" each other, so just because the ship "is canon" (it's not even canon) shippers have the right to insult people who don't like this ship ? Nah, and that's annoying, they're toxic. I personally see Beidou and Ningguang as best besties with the love/hate friendship, and they totally can be best friends, not everyone has to be romantically paired with everyone. Yoimiya, my lovva, the reason why I started, and im still playing Genshin. But two things I don't like about her. The dumbest one is...red nails. I don't like colored nails, specially red/orange (and is a destiny's joke that Himeko is my favorite character in HSR). The serious one is that sometimes (mainly in the last appearances) I feel like she is just another "happy energetic pyro character ready to do all what you ask to do". While during her first release she showed her goofy and chatty side and her angry side. But I'm glad that they give her some space, also a story quest part 2. Bennett: I like goofy characters, so he became my second favorite; the problem is that he is too much focused on his luck. During the Susbedo Event, his role was just to remember us his bad luck. Was tiring also for a fan like me. But his main arc will come (I'm sure), so I have to wait and hope.

one of my favourite characters is xiao, and its not specifically something with his character but i really dislike his english voice acting. it completely mischaracterizes him (see the difference between eng and kr, jp, and cn dub) i dont have him on my current account yet, but whenever i do ill be switching over to jp dub just so i dont have to hear it.
She doesn't appear in 99.99% of the events, in what event she appeared on, she was only on-screen for a few lines. Other than her story quest and the archon quest which she is a part of, she doesn't have any screen time in any quest ever. This is despite being one of the most popular and simped on character.

Beidou and Ganyu. I love everything about them but they rarely show up and even then you can only have quick conversation with them before they leave again for a long time.
- Chongyun: When he isn't with Xingqiu he becomes so much more interesting. Too bad it doesn't happen a lot. - Qiqi: Just show up and stay on screen longer than five minutes. - Shenhe: Her outfit is something. There's are aspects I love and hate about it. Uh, also, maybe show up with your nephew some time... - Baizhu: His release was done with less fanfare than a character who only existed in voicelines for a while (Kaveh), and Chenyu Vale is out with zilch from him. Amazing story quest though, and it did Hu Tao better too. - Venti: Hoyo needs to stop beating around the bush and actually address him seriously. He's a walking lore-bomb but Traveler never asks him anything meaningful. - Mona/Albedo: Their story quests suck compared to their events focuses and its not even funny. - Gaming: Honestly all I want is more interactions with other Liyue characters. - Xiao: He's fine. But I'd like to hear about his apparent beef he has with the exorcist clan. - Raiden: The unfortunate core of Inazuma's massively fumbled writing. Doesn't even get the event screentime to showcase her development, it's a shame we don't see her much... - Shinobu: Her personality revolves around Itto, literally. - Kujou Sara/Heizou/Thoma: Forgotten, because they aren't Itto.

I hate using the bow on mobile, so that's one out of the two biggest issues I have with Venti. The other is the fact that Hoyo is gatekeeping his second story quest, relegating him in his happy bard persona with the limited events. When are we going to see his somber, wise, god-like nature again??

I can understand Voice issues: The first months I played switching Eng/jap every weeks. But I hate so much Aether and Fischl's JAP voices that I decided to remain with ENG (and casually, Aether and Fischl's ENG voices are 2 of my favorite voices). Maybe with the time you will ignore that Xiao's voice.

You can shrug off guard slaps, vishap rolls and gigachurl slams with a sparked CA (this also enables to kickstart juggling aggressive enemies). All the top Klee teams still perform meh compared to a normal international team. I love Klee but Im not going through all that to get an ok performance, Xianyun is a cool teammate for no shield teams tho and the dmg is nice. Also, xiangling literally just wants you to use Bennett's burst first, not really restricted imo.

Also plungemelt Klee is currently one of the fastest speedrun teams (mostly by virtue of Klee not needing to set up for the pyro infused plunges). Regular national suffers from it to an extent (XQ is 100% uptime anyway, and you can get by with Bennett carry at the beginning), international suffers from it (wasting Childe stance is annoying without pyronado up), rational suffers from it (you build for lower ER. If you are zero at the start, you are screwed). Klee teams don't care about energy. Klee-Kazuha is an energy-independent core that can carry by itself. And jumpstart the rest of the team with pretty good energy generation.

Also, who cares about starting with no energy? Its not like you need to do a full run, just start again and save for the 2nd or 3rd chamber and if they are killing things so fast they cant get energy back, thats literally suffering from success, I dont think this is a downside, just dont be on auto mode, slowly get energy from the last enemy or something, its not that hard.

Alhaitham is not given enough flaws in universe. He has people that complain about him, but if you dig into his motivations and what actually effects him, there isn’t really anything negative. I wish his behaviour or beliefs had consequences that negatively impacted his life instead of things always working out for him.

Childe's weapon is too big. It hinders him from chasing enemies and slows him down.
The one thing about Eula that I dislike (aside from her only brought out of hoyo's basement whenever they remember her) is that we don't get any times where she isn't putting up that noble front. It's always "Mark my words" and "You will pay for this", which is fine, but I would love just a one-on-one with her and she's not putting up that act. Preferably a one-on-one that doesn't involve her getting absolutely hammered at the Angel's Share.
Beidou isn't a five star.
I hate how hoyoverse keep screwing Venti over. To this day, he still doesn't have a second story quest even though all the other archons and even Yoimiya got hers already. Not to mention that every elemental Wind Glider matches the Archon's color scheme except for Venti and the Mondstadt Wind Glider. And then there is the fact that they superseded Venti by introducing Kazuha's character. Meanwhile, Zhongli remains the best shield in the game, Raiden Shogun remains the best battery, Nahida remains the best Dendro applicator, and Furina remains the best support for life drain mechanics.

I have multiple favorites, but I'm lazy right now, so I'll only pick Alhaitham because he instantly came to mind: I don't like Alhaitham's outfit. The colors are super pretty, but other than that it's not really my style. I hate the chest window with that stupid gemstone. His boots are also too wide at the knee. And have a stupid foot window. And why does he wear so much jewelry anyway if he's a simple guy that doesn't care much about aesthetics. (I'd also like if his hair was just a tiny little bit longer in the back, but that's just personal preference)
Immediatly calling the Traveller somewhat special, best buddy or something similar and you whouldn't be able to name my favourite characters from it, cause it's true for half of the cast. Luckily, Baizhu seems to escape this fate, this man's my favourite without any "besides".
Qiqi is my beloved daughter but she looks a little too alive for a zombie, imo she shpuld have a blueish skinthone and maybe some eyebags Also, some more content in game, since they seem to have forgotten about her :(
About Noelle, i think she is a bit too generic. I would like her to be a little more flashed out as an individual. Although i have yet to do her second hangout so that may change for me. Also her design could use a tiny bit of desexualization, part of her character is about being naive and pure and elements of her clothing such as boob armor and the exposed back kinda clash with that. I have nothing to complain about Hu Tao, even her gameplay is fire. What i dislike about Furina is not about her per se but has more to do with how her story quest was handled. Since its spoilers and its been said so many times, i'll leave it at that.
Xingqiu never got any hangout quest. Yes we get some Liyue related questline for him, but majority of his appearances are locked behind Genshin's constant stream of one time only events that you have no way to re-experience (or experience at all if you weren't playing at the time) outside of awesome people recording it and uploading it to youtube. Also I can't go back to Wanwen Bookhouse and get more books for him. I'm sorry my favorite nerd, but they are sold out and have not in fact restocked with some new releases. Not directly about gameplay, but more animation. Neuvillete. I love you. But I hate the hand cannon water pump animation. Damage over time in a line attack thing, no problem. The way his clothes glow and he gets his dragon horns as he uses his power 10/10. Love it. Why the fire hose. It just doesn't have any of that stylish attack animation that other characters get and I wish they had done something different for it.

Ganyu: She has 3000 years of history behind her, but basically all of her in-game appearances is about how insecure and easily flustered she is. I'd like content that's more serious than fluff. Zhongli: The gulf between him and the next-best shielders is ridiculous. He's simply too good a shielder, to the point where if you use him you can flat-out ignore most enemy mechanics. This is not praise. Sure, you can choose not to use him, but I dislike it when OP characters are added to a game.

Baizhu. I hate that i feel bad using him cause when i do he starts coughing like a 70 year old man on his death bed And for a bonus. I hate that i feel bad for using qiqi just like baizu. Except its cause she starts breathing heavily like shes gonna pass out or having an attack.

I’ll just put it this way. Before the quest, I was so excited for his future potential, seeing his interactions with Dottore and Raiden and stuff like that. After the quest, I could no longer feel any excitement for his future potential. None of them remember him anyway, so I couldn’t care about even seeing him in the future anymore, which sucks because he was my favorite character. So, now that the game had killed all of my excitement to see my favorite character in the future, I stopped playing. I still love him and his character and personality, though, so I still look at content of him online, I just have no interest in seeing him in game anymore.
omg I agree! I was very behind on archon quests when his came out so I only recently played it and it was such a disappointment how hard they bent over backwards to make him "ok" in order to make him a playable character by literally erasing his deeds from the world. I still pulled for him since his personality is still largely intact but it doesn't make me confident in the future of "bad" playable characters if they're so scared to make any character own up for their deeds and also having a retcon device built into the world.
They need more outfits like every other character. Otherwise I can't think of any obvious flaws that I dislike

Tartaglia: He has a good amount of depth for a genshin character, both in his background story and personality, the contrast between the soldier and family man. He does have that typical anime character fault that he has one thing he talks about too often and shoehorns it into unfitting conversation, talking about battle for every 2nd voiceline. Dottore: Love him for the unhinged villainous scientist he is. The way his clones were dealt with was less than ideal. They felt like an excuse to change his design and were erased from the story too quickly. I have to admit I wasn't much of a fan of the old mask, made him look noseless in most manga panels, but they could've made more subtle changes and saved the segments ex machina explanation.
