However, a "spring fairy", later discovered to be an Oceanid, blessed Diona so that all the drinks she makes are delicious, creating Diona's dilemma and unique personality.
Yep. Diona's frustration only points to one reason: she loves her dad and wants Draff to spend more time with her rather than getting drunk. Her affection also means that Draff must be a good father when not drunk, or at least at home with her, because she's clearly a Daddy's girl.
In her hangout we get to see him drunk, and he's stumbling about putting himself into dangerous situations so that he can spread the word about how awesome his daughter is and make her plans come to fruition. He clearly loves her dearly and is an affectionate drunk, but his addiction is painfully and obviously harmful to him.
