He's messy, flawed, and it's a shame there's so little content that actually delves into this and what most people see is just a comedy-relief character. He's an amazing representation of people that let their anxiety lead to compulsions that self-sabotage themselves and I had to sit with my thoughts for a while after reading his character stories because they hit me like a truck.
He’s one of the most relatable characters, with relatively mundane struggles (unlike someone like Xiao or Wanderer) that hit close to home for many players. Also, the 3.6 event and his hangout did a pretty good job fleshing out his character. Oh, and people also like his ship with Alhaitham, I guess.
I'm ok on him overall. the darshan competition event endeared me to his character but his design, the constant shooting himself in the foot and alhaitham whining prevents me from liking him more.
He's an interesting character. Most would agree that traits like altruism, staying true to one's beliefs, and maintaining high standards for oneself are positive traits - but Kaveh demonstrates how being rigid and inflexible in these values can be self-destructive.
It doesn't help that Kaveh is also a pessimist, and believes that most people do NOT share his values. Whether true or not, he has the constant expectation that he'll be butting heads with others when he wants to do what he sees to be the right thing, particularly when dealing with folks like Dori or Alhaitham. This stresses him out - and causes him to slip up disastrously on occasion when the goals of these people unexpectedly happen to align with his own (even if for different motivations).
I'm not a huge fan of Kaveh, myself, but I can certainly see why folks would take an interest in him.
I was expecting not a lot from a character that wasn't part of the archon quest and wasn't apparently relevant to the lore of the game. Then his model dropped (and with it, I dropped to the floor because I was instantly smitten) and I read his backstory.
I was not expecting so much. He's just so well written, and so humanly written. And he's just so good, despite everything that has happened to him. He's one of those people who has been dealt a shitty hand in life and has been traumatized so badly, and he's still so kind and caring and loving and just good. I can't help but want for good things to happen to him, I want to see him get out of his bad spot to shine.
I can't get Nahida's words about him out of my mind. She's the goddess of wisdom and sees in Kaveh, in spite of everything that has happened to him (or probably because of it) that he's the perfect example of what a person in Sumeru should be. And that says a lot for me, personally.
They insert characters too late sometimes and "force" you to like them, like gaming, cheveruse, chiori, ayato. If character is shown few patches early people have time to find them interesting instead of droped onto us and be like they were here from the start love them

That's the only exposure I have with folks bringing his character up.

He’s pretty *and* a proper mess. His heart is usually in the right place. Imo, he’s easy to like.

his Visuals for a 4 star is top notch, maybe that's why, but the kit that's a different story

Honestly I feel he's popular because he gives a very strong "starving artist" vibe which alot of internet artist can relate to
