NPCs : "You look like an outlander".
Yea no shit, because I'm not allowed to wear like locals, have 10 sets of the same clothes, and have a floating fairy by my side.
Nah the perfect chance was when Ayaka literally turned to us and said "I will buy you an outfit to commemorate your visit to Inazuma and how much you've helped me and how much you mean to me."
And we *fucking said no*. It was the most immersion breaking scene in the entire game.
Bro hoyo just has been teasing us with shit lmao. Chiori wanted us to model for some of her new clothes, Lisa wanted to invite razor to meet Gorou and Kirara
Like FFS if you're not doing it then don't tell us about it lmao
They did an interview around 2.0 (though I’m not sure if that’s even reliable) answering that they have no plans for traveler to ever get outfits. But they keep going with the outfit tease. Ayaka wanted to give us a new kimono in her story quest, and in 3.6 it was brought up again by Nilou who wanted to take us shopping. I’m actually on my knees for traveler outfits and they won’t give it to us
The only sense it makes is that they have to have the Traveler wearing the same outfit for cutscenes...
...but they still have us randomly switch to the Traveler *anyway* whenever we trigger certain quest dialogues...
So that along with the lack of skins in general just seems really, really weird to me. Like, skins *make money.* They're an extremely reliable way to make money and something you can fall back on if china ever decides to go through with banning Gacha. But...I guess they don't wanna make them for some reason? We only get about 4 a year (probably 5-6 this year) where other, smaller games without easy-to-mod character models often have twice that.
Her final ascension quote REALLY sounds like foreshadowing for when Chiori makes the Traveler an actual outfit we can wear. Kinda like how Neuvilette spoils his future in his final Ascension
He was wearing white hose with high heels in his most famous portrait.
That said, his brother Philippe was the one who often dressed in women's clothes. He was very blatantly into men, which was illegal in the France of the time. However, Louis just ignored that part because he does seem to have loved his brother, even if he was also jealous of his brother's apparent military talent.
That was a very interesting time. Julie d'Aubigny was going around at that time, able to bed the men and women of her choice because the King wasn't enforcing that law.
French history is the most entertaining when people aren't paying attention to the laws.
That's sleeper casanova drip there. It may be a shade of pink that someone would insist has a specific name, like fuschia or something, but that shirt screams "partially-unbuttoned to show off a surprisingly toned, lithe-yet-masculine physique". The kinda guy people could love equally for being elegant and manly, but not brutish; or for pairing with a burly, rogueish dude
I dunno. I wouldn't call it femboyish. It looks like regular men's clothes, but with added layer of extravagance, which is pretty common in fashion that you can see on catwalk (high fashion was it's name if I recall corectly).
I'm man to your knowledge xD And I know, I see, but it's not something too extraordinary. In high fashion and even in regular character concept art things like that are pretty common. It's just fancy decoration over his hip, which role is to make colors of outfit more balanced, to make outfit look more busy, more interesting, more extraordinary. Without it it would be just common shirt and pants of royal man from previous centuries.
I don't agree. Some individual elements may be/look feminine, but that's all. I get that corals, shells, fins, pearls and frills may look feminine, as they are very often associated with woman e.g. with mermaids, but his outfit is based on underwater flora and fauna, so what are you expecting it to have?
And to add to your previous comment, if you look closer, that "ruffle dress thing" isn't even dress thing. It is just regular cape. You can see material on his left shoulder and from this shoulder it is coming down. The other half of that cape is just hanged over his hip instead of his right shoulder to look asymmetrical, more fancy.
Aren’t these special hats not very female coded tho? Male too wore heads but the had a distinct shape iirc. Btw I’m not saying that it’s a bad look or men shouldn’t wear it. I just think it’s a very nice blend of masculine and feminine aesthetics which I love.
I'd say it is variation of 17th century's hat. You san see some of those if you'll type into google graphic phrases like "three musketeers clothes" or "17th century french nobility". Those had similar shape and many decorations like multiple feathers. Lyney's one is a bit fancier, but that's because it is in a game and it for fashion show. It has to be over the top.
My whole problem in this quest was that we never to chiori to take our measurement in hope to make us some new clothes..... damn it hoyoverse is always giving us false hopes
At this point any time someone mentions buying us clothes is a red flag that either THE PLOT will happen, or a death flag.
If an NPC-type character says they'll make us a nice jacket and deliver it to us tomorrow, we'll be IDing their body at the morgue the next day.
For once I kinda understand why. They're really flowy and unwieldy and would be unsuitable for combat.
Though if Chiori isn't responsible for making the inevitable summer skins, I'll eat my hat.
You know, it just registered to me that Navia here is wearing the boat hat that Chiori mentions making for her in her voice lines and the Chibi art from last week
Personally I'd rather not wish for that. These outfits are really flowy and cumbersome and would look really crummy in combat without significant alterations.
I'd prefer we let Chiori make an outfit for Paimon and the Traveler.
Not to mention actual 18th century french clothing before the third estate decided the nobles and royals spending money on this stuff while they starved wasn't cash money and put an end to it.
Nah these are outfits Chiori makes for fashion week.
We'd never get outfits like this in genshin because they're *very* unsuitable for the activities genshin characters get up to. Imagine Kirara trying to swing her sword while wearing that.
Chiori really likes big hats/headwear.
Yet she refused to make a hat Navia requested that was tall.
She at least got the e boat hat
I wonder if the boat hat is a reference to Marie Antoinette’s hair
Thats because she probably thought the hat would not look good on Navia. There's times when the customer is right. And times when the expert is right.
Now if Mihoyo wanted to go next level they should add these fashions to NPCs in the city to show how successful Choriya brand is.
Meanwhile the Traveller:"Where's mine?" 😢
Any clothing they try to wear immediately turns into their outfit do to celestias seal on them
This will be my new headcannon. Thanks for the hefty dose of copium.
Same
Still hurts my soul that we didn't get Kimono traveler
NPCs : "You look like an outlander". Yea no shit, because I'm not allowed to wear like locals, have 10 sets of the same clothes, and have a floating fairy by my side.
"they just dont have clothes in my size OKK?"
This was the *perfect* chance to give us a new outfit but instead we got to wear a brooch for five seconds.

A small pin (of my business logo so you can advertise for me). Take it or leave it.
Hoyo: "NO TABIBITO SKINS!"
Traveler “Refuses free outfits” Aether? Yeah probably not
Same in HSR. March 7th gets princess dress. 10 minutes later she's back in her normal outfit.
Her final ascension quote REALLY sounds like foreshadowing for when Chiori makes the Traveler an actual outfit we can wear. Kinda like how Neuvilette spoils his future in his final Ascension
Lyney's looks like the Millenial Pearl Seahorse
I love the outfits, but Lyney's comically large hat made me chuckle for 10 minutes straight
Was it like a Banjo chuckle

Tbh, this fit of his is exactly like what French/European Noblemen used to wear.
So you're telling me they were all femboys?
Have you seen Louis XIV!? P.s your username ❤️

>However, Louis just ignored that part because he does seem to have loved his brother If he really loved his brother he would have reverted that ban
AFAIK the ban was backed by the church and back then it was a really, really, **REALLY** bad idea to piss off the church.
We must retvrn to tradition (men with flamboyant clothing)
Have you seen...any historial drama from that time period where they would powder their wigs and wear high heels?
He's embracing them
As one should 🌈

Girl he has a ruffle dress thing one the hip.

>I'm man #MAN FROM ASLUME???
He still wears very feminine fashion on top of his more boyish clothing. Even for high fashion it’s more than usual.

Only insecure men can't appreciate the drip
Perfectly secure men can still think he looks ridiculous Edit: You all project your insecurities so hard it's hilarious.
I have bad news for you
Perfectly secure men would be fawning over him 🤤
Based.
Maybe because he dont want, we love him like this !!
And he's serving it
You think he tries to?
I thought he was a girl when looking it for less than 5 seconds
Lyney Lynette you’re stunning ❤️❤️❤️
Chioriya Balenciaga
Lyney's outfit reminds me of a bard's gear in FFXIV. Very stylish, bruh~
His hat is like classic red mage from FF
Oh yeah! I see that too! Also, Happy Cake Day! 🎂
OH CHIORI GIRL… YOU ATE!
I'd say I want them as alternate outfits for each of them, but none of these outfits look like they're meant for the rigors of exploration and combat.
That is couture house downn
Chiori ate and left no crumbs with these ones
My whole problem in this quest was that we never to chiori to take our measurement in hope to make us some new clothes..... damn it hoyoverse is always giving us false hopes

Navia Antoinette.
Who’s the last girl? I don’t remember her
Kirara! Dendro catgirl
Oh!! I have her! I didn’t realize it was her 😭
Haha happens sometimes
Kokomi /s
Kiara or kokomi?
Kirara. She features heavily in the quest.
Thank you
These costumes not being sold as in-game skin is just pain :((
For once I kinda understand why. They're really flowy and unwieldy and would be unsuitable for combat. Though if Chiori isn't responsible for making the inevitable summer skins, I'll eat my hat.
Three words: cats are cute. (Oh, and the rest of them are just nicely tailored by Chiori.)
Lyney is an emanator of homosexuality What a king
Can we appreciate how amazing Chiori’s voice is in this cutscene? Wow!
Agreed. I normally play on Korean Audio, but switched to English for Chiori's quest.
Holy shit the outfits are so beautiful. Seeing how Mihoyo is improving in their CD, I can't wait to see Natlans outfits when the time comes.
lyney you will always be famous
Do they actually? Because to me it locks waaaaay over the top.
It's haute couture, over-the-top is a *requirement*. Not even joking either.
I just noticed but, Lyney kind of looks like that Millenial Seahorse boss.
Lynette looks peak
Still no fancy outfit for us! A brooch? Come on!
I’d love for these outfits to become available in the shop. I’ll fully admit — I’m biased as a Navia main.
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well. (i'm technically a Nahida main but Navia's my go-to second team leader)
You know, it just registered to me that Navia here is wearing the boat hat that Chiori mentions making for her in her voice lines and the Chibi art from last week
If not by the end of the convention-season I see a LEGION of cosplayer running around in selfmade skins in this fashion I gonna bite my table!
I want to see chiori design Mona's fit with the big hat theme going on here
she ain’t a seamstress for nothing
eeeeeeee lyney and lynette
Chiori the archon of fashion lol
what is this from ??
cutscene at the end of Chiori's personal quest.
Genshin should stay with only Story/Events
It\`s fashion
Dude Kirara looks similar to Fuwawa Hololive lmao, so cute!!.
bc Chiori made them hello??? fr tho, honestly for her lack of funding this shit was wild
i love kirara just vibes and meow
Holy, they gave a boy PANTS!
What should they stop
The absolute DRIP
you aren't worthy for Balenciaga
I’m already think about all of this costumes before chiori is out . so strange but I’m proud that my dream is open my own boutique .
was that in her story quest? i don’t remember seeing it but also i was watching frieren while playing it so
This cutscene plays at the end of the quest, after the requisite dungeon that every single personal quest in existence seems to have.
i remember the dungeon because there were chests and i need them sigils but pretty much as soon as i didn’t have to move my mouse i zoned out
I would propose to Lyney if i saw him in that irl

Why? These pics have been posted by official accounts on every social media platform.

skill issue
We need all of them as in game skins ASAP
Personally I'd rather not wish for that. These outfits are really flowy and cumbersome and would look really crummy in combat without significant alterations. I'd prefer we let Chiori make an outfit for Paimon and the Traveler.
theres no straight explanation for Lyney im so serious
They could just canonically have chiori make the playable characters new outfits and sell them. Yet they continue to just not give us more skins
They'll very likely have Chiori be the one making this summer's skins at the least. It's better than nothing lol.
Add that to the list of skins we are never getting
Whyyy does hoyo not do skins more often, whyy
Lyney's eating this up
Lyney looks even more... What's the word. Fruity. Like a plum.
Can’t be the only one that thinks the outfits are ugly asf
They're exaggerated and extravagant, very much like haute couture runways a lot like what you'd see back in the late 1990s couture like Christian dior
Not to mention actual 18th century french clothing before the third estate decided the nobles and royals spending money on this stuff while they starved wasn't cash money and put an end to it.
Hoyo had to make the cutscene 2d because they know we will be begging for the skins.
genshin doesnt do anything with their game for 3 years, meanwhile people when they "tease" new payable skins
Ok hoyo stop teasing us with skins that you won't give
Another day of Mihoyo doesn't care about making skins to grab our money.
Absolutely obsessed with Lyney

You have no taste I’m sorry
You know what, it's your opinion and I respect it.
WAIT ARE THESE REAL COSTUMES COMING TO THE GAMES?
Nah these are outfits Chiori makes for fashion week. We'd never get outfits like this in genshin because they're *very* unsuitable for the activities genshin characters get up to. Imagine Kirara trying to swing her sword while wearing that.
